This is a great location for a walmart. I've been here several times for grocery pickup and it can be hit or miss. One time I was one of three cars and a car pulled in after us and was able to get their groceries before us which I thought was odd. There were times where I waited over 30 mins just to get my groceries. Most of the time it's ok. This location also mostly has self checkout and no cashiers so that can be a plus or minus sometimes. read more

I had a missing item after the website said it was in stock. I also was a victim of a "bait & switch" regarding delivery fees. Touted as "free delivery", I placed my order; submitted said order only to be told I had to spend $35+ for free delivery. I increased my order to $36 & still there was an $7.95 delivery fee. Irritated, I submitted any way. In checking my online receipt an hour later I see I've been charged a $10 delivery fee. So, they went from $7.95 which they described as "free" to $7.95 for order over $35, also described as "free", to $9.95 on the final receipt. This has probably divulged into the worst run establishment I have ever seen. I am empathetic to the shortage of employees, all businesses are feeling it, but to allow hour or longer waits to check out is beyond ridiculous. If your staffing is this bad you need to close down until you are able to appropriately staff for the amount of customers you being in. How about Walmart pay the consumers their hourly wage for having to wait in lines like this? This is a complete waste of time, but thanks to inflation it is one of the few places many can afford to purchase things. As Chris points out, this is a hidden little gem of a Wal-Mart. Because you can't see it from the road (it's in a bit of a valley), I think it doesn't get the usual drive-by traffic. It seems to be a smaller footprint and it has only the one entrance door (usually there are two - one by the pharmacy and one by the groceries) which made me think that this was perhaps not a Supercenter. Well, it is one. That means that it carries the full range of produce, bakery, grocery and frozen items you need to stock up your fridge and pantry. And it has all the other Wal-Mart items, like clothing, electronics, photo. It does have an auto section, but does not have the Tire & Lube. Or the Garden Center. read more

Shopped for fresh, slice turkey meat this Saturday morning and met one of the nicest butchers there. JJ. Tugman was not only nice, but very accommodating and respectful. It was so nice knowing I can go shopping at this location and be treated like not only a valuable customer, but a neighbor. Awesome job JJ! Friendly and Helpful associates work here. The only complaint is some of what I'm looking for is online only and not available at the store. In a way it's inconvenient only because I want those items today at this moment so I can set things up. Other than that, they do have a good selection of household items and food but not so much on beer though. Mostly domestic. I've shopped here a few times. There is something a little smaller about this particular walmart so some of the things you might be in search of, they may not carry. Was in my case for a few things. Perhaps many walmarts are heading this direction so it might not be specific to just this store in the area. read more

I've lived all over and have been in many Walmarts, and this store on Pelham Rd. Is without a doubt is one of the best. The employees are always helpful, always greeting you, always responsive. The store is extremely clean, vey neat, and shelves are stocked the best way allowable considering Covid. It's so amazing that during the hottest part of the summer, the plants are watered and well taken care of. The outside is well merchandised and current items are well displayed. Kudos to the manager, customer care starts at the top, and kudos to all the employees. read more

I NEED ALL OF YOU! This little Walmart is very easy to miss because it does not sit directly on Pelham Rd. I sits back a bit so look carefully for the sign. The first thing to notice about this Walmart is its odd design. It is simply designed with one main entrance on the left end of the building. There are no giant markers indicating Market vs Home and Pharmacy. We were not sure that this was a full service Walmart but noticed the grocery department to our left as we entered the store. Although this store does have a grocery section it is clearly not a standard Supercenter because it only has an optical center upfront, (no nail salon, sandwich shop or banking center). It has only one restroom which is in the very back of the store in the Pick-Up center. During our brief visit through the store, it was evident that this store simply does not carry the stock of other stores. If you are just running in for the basics, you will be fine. However, if you are looking for all that a typical Supercenter has to offer, you will need to consider a different location. Walmart did not disappoint us tonight because I was able to get the dual phone charger that I needed and my husband found his favorite snacks. Winning! read more

Totally love the service I received today from guest service agent at the Walmart on Pelham Road number 4583. I was shopping with my elderly neighbor. She was looking for an alarm clock that would wake her up (she's hearing impaired) Lakena was walking and we stopped her to ask for help. You can tell by her body language she sincerely did not mind helping. We are talking about Walmart you know how some of the agents act, but Lakena did not only help us find what we was looking for, she chatted with us and laugh and was just a pure pleasure to work with..... Thank you Lakena for helping us. I called the manager "JO" she had a heavy NY accent, and she was also very nice and was happy to hear about Lakena. Sure, Wal-Mart takes some flak for regularly killing small businesses, treating their workers poorly, and driving down product quality by selling cheap products from China, but it is a small price to pay for the wonders that Wal-Mart provides. This one stop shop has everything from kale to .45 caliber ammunition and from Barbie dolls to home drug test kits. If you can't find what you're looking for, then just look for a friendly sales associate in a blue vest. They are always eager to help. If you're like me and dislike interacting with people, but do not want to pay for shipping by shopping online, then Wal-Mart has a solution for you. It's called self-checkout and it always works flawlessly without a hitch. You get to scan each of your items and bag them yourself. I found it really helpful that the machine would audibly remind me after scanning each item to 'please place item in the bagging area'. Wal-Mart is a place that you can go to while dressed up or dressed down. It truly is a great store for people of all walks of life. Wal-Mart is slashing prices just for you. I'm a teacher who foolishly ordered a 1 hr photo book for a end of year gift for my room mom. I placed the order around 5 in the afternoon and received both a text and an email informing me my order was ready about a half hour later. I arrived at the store a little after 7pm and found no one working in the photo center. I waited around a couple of minutes and an employee came over about 5 feet away from me and continued to stock shelves. He never spoke to me until I asked him if he could help me with my order. He obliged and went behind the counter. He held up a sheet with tiny pictures on it and asked me if that was my order. It was and he then informed me my order wasn't ready. Now keep in mind this was AN HOUR AND HALF after I received the text and the email telling me it was. My pictures had been printed and were left laying on the counter beside the empty photo book. The man then proceeds to tell me the guy working in the photo center was at "lunch" and wouldn't be back for another 25 minutes. He didn't offer to cut the pictures himself or apologize for the screw-up. I had no more time to waste so I asked for my photos and the empty book and left. I got home, cut the pictures to fit the book and put them in the book. If this wasn't bad enough, I tried to speak with someone online in customer service to let them know what happened. After explaining the problem to 2 online chat reps who assured me my order had been completed (REALLY?) they offered to transfer me a 3rd time, I gave up. Not only is the photo lab slacking, it's next to impossible to get competent online help. I'm leaving a review here in hopes this will save another hapless person from going through what I did. This is the first time I've had a problem like this at the Pelham Road location. The checkout staff is pleasant and competent and the store is clean and well-stocked. Not sure what was going on in Photo, but this is my last visit there. read more

This place very much lacks good customer service. When my husband and I shopped there last Saturday, July 1, 2017 in the afternoon it went very smoothly until we are ready to pay for our groceries. While we were standing and waiting in line for about 15 minutes with two(2) other customers in front of us and nobody behind us, suddenly the cashier told me and my husband that she is closing. My husband and I were so mad at her that we decided to use your self check out instead and promising not to shop at that store ever again.
