The machine shop and retail store shared a Guntersville space until it became a little awkward when Sak's lingerie, women's dresses, and footwear (2$-3$ each) shared the same space with greasy tools and machines. Eventually, they opened the first retail store in Guntersville and now (and have for a good while) have stores in Huntsville, Decatur, Montgomery, Muscle Shoals, and Auburn. Yeah, there is a lot of stuff in a MM!! Books, yearbooks and bestsellers, sports fan related items (think Blue Jays themed socks), nuts, bolts, uniforms, stationery, school supplies, sports equipment, picture frames, Bubba Gump glasses, barrettes, office desks, grills, nuts, bolts, tools, flashlights, live orchids - you get it. It's a bargain hunter's paradise if you don't have ADHD and can focus on getting only what you are looking for. Interestingly enough, they don't always know what is in some of the boxes they bid on at auction and once ended up with F-16 fighter jet parts that required Pentagon permission to sell. (They sold nearly all the parts, too!) Like their website says, after visiting the Guntersville and Huntsville stores, I did find myself saying, as many MM shoppers do, "I'll bet that would come in handy, if I just knew what it was for." :)

It tastes like your Umma made it. The regular kimchi Costco sells is sliced. I am used to slicing the fermented Napa cabbages each time versus opening a container and having pieces. This new green leaf kimchi has a great flavor. After it was opened, it started to sour which is normal. I made fried rice with it and it was great. I did not want anything casual and if it had a little bling that would be perfect. If you are accustomed to shopping in the Atlanta area stores, you will probably be disappointed by this store which is much smaller and therefore very limited in content. Although they had a couple of cute pieces, I was disappointed overall. I was really surprised by the cheap acrylic sweaters that they are featuring for fall. I will never accept style over quality because I don't like pieces that look cheap and I prefer natural fibers when it comes to sweaters because they just look more polished and will last longer. While I love Stein Mart, this one just does not measure up and so my search continues.
