I go here out of convenience of it being a 24 hour store that is super close to my home. They are notoriously low on open registers and I have spent 15-20 minutes just waiting in line and checking out at least a few times. They have had a few more registers open lately (as opposed to the 3 that I've so frequently noticed no matter how busy the store is). I saw on the news that as a whole some Walmarts had been losing business because they were a little too light on staffing and things weren't out on shelves to purchase or lines were just too long and time consuming to save a buck. I've personally witnessed people get out of their line, set down items, and walk out of this store, I heard one lady tell her friend, "let's just go to Target." That being said, it is convenient to get random things I may have forgotten to get at the commissary on Ft Lewis and groceries are cheaper than Safeway so it's hard not to go here. Plus, the lot is huge and they have a number of spots located near the market entrance just for wounded warriors which is cool. read more

Probably one of the better Walmarts I've been to. I usually don't like Walmart, especially after living in Oklahoma and that was practically my only choice! This one however, is a better location. There still seems to be some staffing issues, as in when you need someone, you can't find anyone, but overall it has what I need at a cheaper price than some retailers. I also really like that this store offers Wounded Warrior Parking spaces right near the front of their stores. Being a military spouse, and knowing many who have been wounded, I think it's a sign this store management cares of the community it serves, which is largely military. read more

Went their to get replacement blades for my electric razor. My right foot is in an air brace due to an injury so it's very difficult to walk around. Needless to say I waited over forty five minutes for someone to assist me at the razor area and was tired of asking various employees for help so I then went for the store manager. Meanwhile, a friend that was with me, called to an employee of the store for help. He turned towards her and said "I'm not your dog! Go get someone else to help you!" I couldn't believe what I just heard. I finally met with the assistant manager and she told me that the man that said that rude comment was another assistant manager. WTH! On saturday, february 6th 2016, I went to Walmart located on 1401 Galaxy Dr NE, Lacey, WA 98516 buy a prescription medicine. My doctor called an 20 minutes before my arrival to walmart to make sure the medicine is in stock. I went to the cashier (Shelcy), she took my prescription, took my name and address, and told me it's going to be 20 minute wait. I came back 25 minutes later ( gave them extra time just in case) only to find out that my prescription is not ready for pick up and I am told by Christa that it's still in the process and I'll have to come back 20 min. Not good, but what can I do? So, 20 minutes later I go back ready to get my medicine but Christa tells me it's not ready, it's still in the process and I need to wait another 20 minutes. At this point I see a girl counting pills in the back, touching the pills with her bare hands. I go back to Shelcy to get back my prescription, at this point being for an hour at the pharmacy (wait time plus lines) and Shelcy tells me that no need to wait, the prescription is ready. Finally I get my medicine, pay for it, and now another line to the pharmacist is forming. This experience made me realize walmart was not worth it. I'm usually not the kind of person who would sit here and sing the praises of Walmart, but I had to make an exception for this location as it's the best one you'll visit in the Western Washington region (the others being Yelm, Tumwater, Lakewood and Tacoma). To keep this review from being a mile long, let me break down what works and doesn't work after a dozen or so visits to this location. What works: -The store is usually packed to the gills with product, more so than the other locations. It feels like a Supercenter because you can really find almost anything you need, even if it's sometimes a chore to hunt it down. -The cleanliness and organization of this Walmart can't be understated. While some other locations can feel dark, crowded, cluttered or otherwise confusing to navigate, this one feels bright and open and easy to maneuver through with a majority of the items feeling like they belong in the right place. -Online Grocery Pickup and Online Pickup are easy to use, easy to manage, handled by incredibly helpful people and make it easy for the customer to get in and out if need be without being in the store for too long, or at all in the case of Online Grocery Pickup. -The plethora of available self-checkouts and Scan and Go's make it easy for the customer, regardless of how many items they have, to smoothly buy their items and transition out of the store without having to wait in line. -The cashiers, at least the ones I dealt with, were all really nice. One named Travis checked me out about 6-7 times and though he doesn't smile much, he's warm and friendly and always willing to strike up a conversation and he even opened up another line once just so I and a few others could check out. He's a good kid and hopefully he's going places there. Same goes for Kaitlyn, Scott and Denali who also checked me out in my visits to the store. All great people. -The lot is well kept and the Wounded Warrior and plethora of handicapped parking spots is quite refreshing. Now for what doesn't work: -Paying for bags still sucks, and it's even worse when the Walmart blue bags they sell break almost immediately after you scan them. -Waiting in the pharmacy takes forever at times and there seems to be a bit of a disorganization with how things are run there. The prices are good, but unless you got 20-30 minutes to kill, don't bother. -It's hard to find employees at times and the ones you usually find, while nice, have no idea where most things are located unless they pull out the app. -Some of the shelves are picked over, and sometimes there's stock in the back but not out on the floor. This makes things hard sometimes to find, but this has only happened to me once since I've been there. -The deli is atrocious, from the food quality to the service to the selection. Granted I shouldn't expect much from a deli at Walmart, but waiting 25 minutes to get ham almost knocked this down to three stars. All in all it's the best Walmart in the region thanks to quality products, a good selection, an easy to navigate and clean store, kind cashiers and a respect for our veterans. Though it has an iffy pharmacy, an atrocious deli and can sometimes be a bit crowded, if you need to go to Walmart, go to this one. read more

Horrible Service, even worse than you'd expect at a place like Walmart. My Girlfriend and I had a simple question about an item and we stood near the Electronics counter, slightly off to the side, clearly showing we would like to be helped (we were making eye contact, not looking at products or looking like we were shopping in any way) and we were ignored for about 10 minutes. There were 4 employees within 10 feet of us as we walked up. One was ringing up a customer, so it was understandable that they wouldn't help us. Another one came up to look up an item real fast on the computer and went on his way. That was perfectly understandable as well, seeing as he looked like he was doing something work related. BUT!!! There were 2 employees, one who had curly brown hair and glasses, the other I don't remember the looks, who stood there talking before we came up and the entire time we were trying to get some sort of service. They even kept looking over at us so it wasn't because they didn't see us. They ended up looking at us one final time and then both of them split up to go do something else, presumably to go talk to other employees. I have worked in retail for many years and while I understand the need to talk to your fellow employees, you shouldn't make your customer feel ignored especially when clearly trying to get some sort of customer service. I won't be coming back to this Walmart because of this experience and multiple other attempts previously to get decent customer service. read more

I wanted to buy an item that was locked in a glass case. The employees except the manager were nice. The manager was the only person that had a key and never responded. I waited 2 hours! I don't really like this WalMart, but it's somewhat better than the others around here. Its organized horribly and the produce section always stinks. I don't even know why they have a produce section. The only thing they seem to carry a lot of is lettuce. This was very disappointing. I purchased a floodlight for my home security at this location a few months Back. After getting home and installing I realize that this so-called flood light didn't flood anything the the light barely came on, when it did, when the sensor did register it was no more than the light on the tip of the pen. Walmart in the past has been so good about honoring their products and supporting their products that all you needed was your ID in order to come back and get a refund or at least at the very least store credit. Even maybe a month prior they honored that deal and another purchase that I had made and was on satisfied with. However with this product things change my view. Not only did they not let me make my return or give me store credit they treated me like I had stole it, the amount of attitude that I got from this girl working the register was beyond me. I was treated like I wasn't worth her time and I was treated like a criminal when all I was trying to do was get some store credit so that I can make another purchase. They told me that I needed the card that was used in the purchase in order to make the return but since I had lost my wallet between the two visits I no longer had the physical card. Another employee approached after trying multiple cards and she informed me that if I was able to get the number of the old card that they could use the main computer to make the return. She told me that she could look up the number to find the receipt if she had numbers to type in. So between October 13, 2019 And December 7, 2019 I spent my free time digging in trash cans trying to find this card calling my bank calling my credit or calling anyone and everyone who could give me this card number which by the way is not an easy task apparently until finally After about 25 days I found it. I return to this Walmart happy as a clam ready to make my return only to find the same girl with the attitude working the desk lucky me. I received the same attitude was treated like a criminal once again. Only to find out that I was lied to by another employee. The attitude ridden "helper" went to get her floor manager to assist. Not to assist me, but to assist her and was given even a higher level of attitude from her like I was annoying them or I wasn't worth their time. When all I was doing was following instructions from one of their employees and I had put in a lot of work in order to get this number that they still requested. So this woman went to get her general manager store manager whatever you wanna call it to bring her out to talk to me but still can't offer any assistance. I don't understand how a company so big and so widespread can allow their employees to not only lied to customers but I put them through hell only to come out the other end and offered no assistance To their customers. Whoever hired these people at the lazy location did a horrible job because all the way up through the chain these people are garbage when it comes to "customer service". I went to the Walmart Supercenter #3531, 1401 Galaxy Dr Ne, Lacey, WA 98516 on Thursday December 6th around 4:30pm to pick up an order from online. It was not clear where the site to store pick up was so I went to customer services. After waiting in line for about fifteen minutes I was instructed where to go and if no one was there to go to the electronics department. I went to the site to store area where there was already a line and no one there. I waited for about fifteen minutes assuming someone was there since everyone was in line waiting. After hearing comments that other people have not seen anyone, I went to electronics and someone followed me to the site to store area. He went in the back and came back out stating that she was in the back getting an order. He also said there was only one register and she was already logged into it. I and every other customer there waited for over an hour to pick up our items. At least one person called the store's phone number, talked to the store manager about the wait. While in the line many people asked if there was a store manager. The answer was always "There is only one register". At no point did the store manager ever come to the site to store to address the problem. Even just apologizing and offer to stay there since the store was wasting all of their customer's time would have been enough. If the store manager is not competent enough to figure out to install another register I cannot see how their time could possibly be helpful doing anything else anyway. read more

Bought a DVD and it wouldn't play. Took it back as I was going to buy it from another store (not a Walmart). Didn't want to try again from Walmart as I know some DVD's are made at many locations around the globe and some sources are better than others. They finally took it back for a refund but they told us they don't usually do this and that they may get in a lot of trouble. Yeah, right. Made us feel as though we were trying to pull one over on them. For $12. All we wanted was a working DVD movie. Went over to Best Buy and bought it. For about 20% less. I started using Wal Mart when we lived in and traveled extensively in our motor home. The convenience of getting necessary medications easily at any Wal Mart is a huge advantage plus parking over night while enroute is another big plus. Getting provisions aboard is also simple and easy. But Wal Mart has made some moves recently that have proved difficult. First, certain medications are provided in plastic bubble cards which are VERY difficult to use as ones hands loose dexterity with age. The are also difficult to store in the restricted confines of even a 40 foot diesel pusher motor home. The convenience of that packaging is all for the pharmacy and definitely NOT for the consumer. I tried to communicate this to both the pharmacy and to corporate Wal Mart and on the local level, the response was, "...to bad, that's how we provide them..." and from corporate Wal Mart, a resounding silence. As with all of Wal Mart, it is never a pleasure to shop there which to some degree is offset by the convenience but even that is wearing very thin. We are moving our prescriptions to a more convenient location as we are no longer living in and traveling in our motor home. read more

I am from Chicago visiting and shopping here with my 5yr old niece. On June 8th, 2018 while shopping here, my niece wanted a free cookie from the bakery and when I asked for two the old lady behind the counter said no because she knew that I wanted one too. The old lady she said the cookies are only for kids 12yrs old and under. She was rude about it too. I shopped at this Walmart again today on June 11th 2018 with my niece and my niece wanted a free cookie and this time a nice younger lady was super nice said she could have two cookies.Then I saw the older lady come over and whisper that the cookies are only supposed to be for kids 12 and under and the kids only get one. And I turned around and saw her staring at me, and probably recognized me from the other day because I had on the same Bears jacket. Anyhow, I thought she was really rude. Other lady was super nice. I don't appreciate shopping here and will never come here again. I visit alot and will go to Safeway & Target from now on when I come to visit. The bakery guy at Safeway gave my niece and I each a free chocolate chip cookie and did it with a smile. The cookies tasted better at Safeway too. read more

Today, I sat waiting for 15 minutes after I set off the "notifying associate for assistance", while 7 people walked by without asking if I need assistance or any acknowledgment. All I wanted was to pick up an Internet order. I could hear loud conversation and laughing coming from the back. Finally, after requesting help from someone who walked by, a nice lady did help and was nice about it. She was the same lady working in the electronics department and is the only nice person I've encountered at this Walmart. There were a ton of people in the back who could have assisted and didn't. I've ordered things online before and picked up and the wait always seems to take forever. Overall, customer service at this Walmart (like most) completely sucks. The lines are extremely long and there is never enough staff when you are ready to checkout.....now I know why, they are all hanging out in the back. read more

I'd give this store a lower star if I could. I'm typically a fan of Wal-Mart, but this store has the worst customer care of any I've been to. I asked four service reps (if that's what you would call then) for two different products. I was told four times "we don't have those here". Not a single one of them offered to look our ask someone else. After 10 minutes of looking around I found the exact products I had asked about. One of the products in the same section where the employee worked. Having served in retail before, I felt I should tell a manager so they could address the situation, but couldn't find one of those either. If there was a no star I'd probably rate it that. This store is getting worse every year, a worker can never be found anywhere throughout the whole store when customer service is needed. Speaking of which, their customer service is terrible! They do pick up but when it comes to redirecting your call to the specific part of the store, there's no one available, and if there are people available , they either, 1) don't understand English very well and 2) don't know how to help/ answer your question. The customer service employee William did an amazing job with each customer. He showed complete calm and respect and truly did his best to help each person. We had a return without a receipt which was on us. However the sign behind the counter states that they will take returns or exchanges with or without a receipt. It was explained to us that the store manager changed the policy so that you can only do a return or exchange with a receipt. I sympathize with how much frustration this must cause the employees who have to face the customers rather than the manager. If you aren't going to follow the policy- then take the signs down. If this review was just based on the manager it would be a 1 but for the really kind and helpful employees it would be a 5. read more

They usually have one cash register open with a line of about 12 people waiting to buy their items. I recently made a purchase of a camping chair at my local Walmart (1401 Galaxy Dr NE/Lacey, WA/(360) 456-6550) the chair (Camo chair ASSR - Oversized Defended Chair - Ozark Trail - UPC 40553154437 - Model FC750-99806) which broke when I first used it. I went back to the Walmart where I purchased it to get a replacement chair. The customer service representative (which was around 6:30 pm on 7/22/2015) and the manager spoke with me and said that the item rung up as 9 dollars and 57 cents even though the tag for it was still on the shelf at the price i paid of $24.88. They informed me that it was seasonal and had been deleted from their system so they could only give me 9 dollars and would not give me a replacement chair. I showed them the spot on the shelf, the tag and the picture of the chair i purchased and they would still not replace my chair or even give me a cheaper one, as there was a perfectly good chair in stock for $19.00. They instead offered me the 9 dollars in cash, which was not the point of me going back to the store, I wanted a chair! I have worked in customer service before and know that when the product still has tags on the shelf, even if its not in the system or not, and has a picture of the item itself! it should be honored and I should not have had to spend more money to go ahead and use the 9 dollars and buy the 19 dollar chair. It was very frustrating for such a simple transaction and the way they would not work with me. I have handled angry customers before but I was not one of them today, i took cell phone pictures of their tag and the chair and showed them to no avail. I just feel very disappointed and have lost some loyalty to this brand which I shop often at. I hope your company can train better customer service reps and managers to just look at the evidence provided and use common sense. I did not have a receipt for this interaction, though I wish I had, I did offer to access my bank account and show them the transaction from walmart for the price of the product, but they informed me that this could not be used as proof. That is all I have to say, its frustrating to have to write a review, and even at this point, over something so petty as a 20 something dollar chair, but I felt obligated to do so as this type of customer service interaction makes me literally cringe as it was embarrassing to argue with them in front of a line of other customers. Lines are absolutely horrendous! They have 20 plus registers but only ever have 3 or 4 openwith lines that are so long youll be stuck for an hour just waiting to get rang up. Multiple times I have seen managers standing around just talking during times like that who do absolutely nothing to open more lanes. Also customer service will say they will price match but then will argue with you full heartedly so they dont have to. Hate this store! read more
