The old location on Stream Walk Lane has been replaced with this new, larger location at Manassas Mall. It has been added to the back side of the building, along Ashton Avenue. I don't want to sound too excited about this new store, after all it is just Walmart, but it is indeed nice to walk into a new location. Everything is sanitary and in good repair. Something one should appreciate, as the stores don't age well and become rundown quickly. That is the price you pay for 'cheap' I guess. This new locations is definitely much larger than the one it replaced. It now includes a full grocery department, a bakery and even a Dunkin Donuts! I want to say, yesterday was the first day of business and the place was extremely packed. There were noticeable dents in the shelves as people were buying product faster than it could be restocked, however, very few things were sold out. The company must project big sales volume for this location. Approximately 30 registers are available and to improve the flow of customers, 3 entrances from the parking lot and one from the mall are provided. Things did run quite smoothly. There is still a very strange traffic pattern in effect when you enter from Ashton Avenue, so for now I would recommend using Rixlew Lane. Happy shopping. read more

I agree with Neil j. If I really need something I go quickly, get in and out. Like I'm being chased by bees. Im not a fan of walmart nor its atmosphere. Most of the time all you see in the store are trifle people. People wearing their night clothes out in public which I still cant grasp out here in Virginia. If you were in Europe you would get laughed at all the way home. Anyway- most things in this particular walmart are always out of stock. Boxes packages open and I find items on the floor. Lines are roller coaster lines. Cashiers are slow, they look like they just started wotking there. Prices are not even cheap, only on *some* items. First, Always cashiers count for me a item for twice or thirds times, if I realize it during my shopping, they accept me but I have to stay in a long customer service line for my money, if I don't understand it in that time, I lost my money because customer service doesn't accept me. Second, I cannot find anybody to help me for cloth or cosmetics. Also most of the time I see the damage packages in shelves that workers don't care about them. Obscured by the Manassas Mall on Sudley Road, this Walmart is completely camouflaged and can only be accessed by making a right turn on to Rixlew Lane. The parking lot is big enough to accommodate all. However, be advised that the further you park a vehicle away from this Walmart Supercenter, the longer the walk to the store entrance. In terms of floor space, it easily contains all the regulation Walmart stuff along with everything a customer needs from a large grocery store. read more

Most of the time I find everything I'm looking for at a great price. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to make a return. Didn't realize how HUGE & overwhelming this store is. Customer service was somewhat long but the cashier was actually nice & patient. It was too crowded, I didn't even have the desire to look at everything in the store (i kno im not the only 1 who does that at WM). You know, this Walmart is surprisingly not like your other typical walmarts... and by that I mean the bad service... The employees here either walk you to where a location of an item you are looking for or direct you correctly. I do like that the self-check out lanes are quick. Typically this location has more than one person handling them which allows the line to go by so quick! Not only that, this location opens up more than enough needed cashiers. THAT I believe is key to why I come to this location. I don't like how it's connected to a mall though. I think that's kind of tacky and I hate how I have to drive around the mall to find it. Being a supercenter, this Wal-mart is a typical store that is a cheap one-stop shop for things you need that you can't afford at Manassas Mall. The stars off are really because the lines seem to be super long in customer service with no one manning any new registers, and the employees def don't seem to care. Tbf though, it's Walmart, they're not exactly the best employers to work for. Another star off for the crowd. Terrible Walmart. They now have metal railings when you enter. Probably to prevent shoplifting as the store now funnels you're to the self checkouts. They have 9 cashier lanes but only 2 are open. The lines are 8 shoppers deep and they don't open any more lanes. The self check out is 15 people deep for about 6 checkouts. It's like they don't even want to interact with you. Just check out go. Over all the store is dirty and in a state of disorganization. Walmart has begun the slow decline and this Walmart is a perfect example of that. read more

10 years ago I used to have huge concerns about their produce but they've gotten much better. My current issue is that they are no longer open 24/7. 1:00 a.m. grocery runs were my thing you didn't have to deal with crowds or long lines and my kids weren't asking for this and that because they was soundly asleep in their beds. I would suggest that they post their new store hours outside. This morning myself and several and about 6 other people stood outside for about 10 minutes talking amongst ourselves trying to figure out what is going on... honestly we all thought that the automatic doors were simply broken. My other concern about this store is that many of their employees don't truly speak english. ( I used to assume that that they were contractors but they really work for Walmart) Let me 1st of all say that if English is not your 1st language I have no issue with you. I am a Proud 1st Generation American! But I do believe that Walmart should have a policy in place that if a customer walks up to an employee and asked for help locating hair products or children's Tylenol the employee should be able to understand that statement or get someone who does. From what I can see they all walk around with palm pilots. I assume that this is a tool that assists with product placement and price checking so maybe they can download Google Translate. Just a suggestion... Lastly, for one reason or the other they no longer carry pantyhose for women of color. This is a huge concern and issue for me and my 3 lovely daughters. This is my community and I shop locally. This is not the only store in Manassas that has stopped carrying pantyhose for women of color. About 3 years ago they started disappearing from shelves. For a while, I was able to purchase mediums when I really needed extra extra large. No joke my and my daughters just dealt with it... But now they have completely disappeared and I would love the see them come back. On several occasions I've spoken to different CSMs regarding my concerns. I voiced my opinion that as a woman of color I feel completely ignored as a consumer after our conversations where they would completely agreed and always advised that they were in between purchasing reps for the department. But to date nothing has been done. Is anyone else having this issue? If you can and if you would like to reply to this message please do so. Its walmart good selection, at times overly busy, so i tried going in the later evening...8-10 and found out the associates are busy bringing out pallets of new items, which cuts down on space. UGGGHHHH also the lines are long. only 3 cashiers on regular lines on a friday night with 6 on 20 items or less... sucks bad when you have a cart full and your in line for 30-45 minutes. Had to put ice cream back cause by the time i went to unload my cart it was so soft and squishy it wasnt funny... read more

The worst place ever !!! Always over crowded with rude people and lots of young kids who should be in school

I have been going to this store for years and it seems they never have enough cashiers to keep the lines to a minimum. The self checkout lines have helped somewhat. The real reason I decided to put up a review is because of a recent issue I had last week. On Thursday, the 16th, we bought a large package of cupcakes for my daughter's birthday. In one of the cupcakes there was one of those stick-on nails. Like the kind that go on the end of your fingers. Disgusting! We ended up throwing the rest away. If there was one of those in there that tells me hygiene is not a priority. I doubt that person who lost the nail was wearing gloves. I called the store that day and asked to speak to a manager. After several minutes I was finally connected to someone who claimed to be a manager. I don't know if it was a language barrier or just plain apathy but I felt like I was getting nowhere with this "manager" so I asked to speak to the general manager. She said she would take my number and pass the message along to the general manager. Here we are several days later and still no response. I wasn't looking to get a refund or money from them. I just wanted to warn them so they can better train the food preparation personnel. If I can't reach them by phone perhaps the internet will work. read more

I dont know why this store has such a bad rep. Yes, its crowded but I find that it has the most in stock items around. I live less than 10 minutes from the Chantilly store but prefer this one. Every time we come to this Wal-Mart to exchange something we don't want, the "customer service" place has the worst customer service than any other place I've been to last time it was Angela that was extremely rude to us. I want to return an inflatable bed that didn't bring a pump and its way before 90days with a receipt I just want store credit not even a cash refund and Jonathan just seems to not want or be able to do anything for us after WE asked to get a manager that can help they all seem to not care. The store is in deed a Supercenter, tons of options and surprisingly very clean. The layout is not the same as other Supercenters and things are a very spread out, hard to find the things you are looking for. The staff was not particularly overly helpful and seems to not really be interested in the customer service business. read more

I like Walmart and one stop shopping. We do most of our household goods and grocery shopping here. We also enjoy the Walmart brand of Great Value in the grocery items. I have recently found the restocking in this Walmart to be lacking and that is why it gets 3 stars. On this past Tuesday we did our weekly shopping trip and the only brand of toothpaste they had stocked was Crest. No Colgate, Aquafresh, Aim, nothing but Crest. Nothing wrong with Crest, it's just not my go to. The prices on flats of annuals and other outdoor things like fertilizer, insect control, and etc. are very good. We save a lot of money over Giant, Safeway, and even Shoppers on the grocery items we buy. read more

I really love Super Wal-Mart and glad they finally have one in Northern Virginia. The only reason I didn't give it five starts is that they sometimes run out of stuff on Sunday or Monday and the shelves are bare. Other than that, I enjoy doing my grocery and other shopping there. read more

The store is possibly the worst Walmart I have ever ben and as far as service in the fabric department. We were there a couple of days ago wanting to have some fabric and waited for 30 minutes until a woman finally showed up. When the woman did finally arrive to wait on us, she called me "hon" and acted as if she did not want to be there at all. I was, startled,to say the least at her behaviour. I have told her that her language with me was inappropriate and that I would not be buying anything from her. She lost for the store approximately a $50 sale in fabric. I've told my daughter that I would never go back to shop at that store after the experience. We checked out with a lot less than I had intended to buy. I will be going to the Walmart in Chantilly to do any further business regarding fabrics. The manager who runs that section of the store is absolutely delightful and polite. read more

This location is a relocated Walmart from down the road (now at the Mall) but it's a SUPER walmart! The aisles aren't as spacious as some of the other Supercenters I've been to but that's okay cause they still sell most of the groceries and things I need so I'm a happy shopper! read more

Right from Seinfeld's Soup Nazi - now I have got WalMart's version I don't expect a lot from Walmart. Come on, we all know that. Tonight however was we got a new low. (I don't know how much lower I can get my expectations). After handing the customer in front of me his receipt he had another question/request. The cashier already on to scanning my items told the customer he would have to go to the back of the line or go to customer service. Talk about awkward - I was in no hurry and indicated it would be alright. She was insistent. He sheepishly went to the back of the line. Poor guy. Then when my receipt for two items was suppose to print she walked off without a word. She disappeared so fast the rest of the customers and I wondered if it was her break. She returned two or three minutes later kind of. (heck I didn't know if I really purchased my items) In fact her lead cashier came over, she stayed two aisles over talking to her cashier friend while the manager opened the receipt printer and handed me my wrinkled receipt. What, can't reprint? My original cashier returned, indicated her regret while she scanned the next customer's items. I didn't dare stay and say anything for fear of being cast to the back of the line. Really Walmart - you might be close, cheap, and have everything. There is however one thing you lack - if you are ever curious walk across the mall on your break and watch Target for a couple of minutes.They've got "IT" almost figured out. I am a super big fan of Walmart's price matching. Just taking in the ad and you get the price the other stores were charging. It makes it nice because on almost everything Walmart is way cheaper than any other store and now you don't have to go to other stores to get the deals. I do almost all of my grocery shopping at Walmart. As long as there is one close by I probably alway will. read more

Without a doubt one of the worst customer service, Either by phone or physically. It took me literally an hour just to get a hold of management. I was looking for Castrol edge 5W 40 motor oil and they have been out of stock from the warehouse for about a month and a half now. I've been showing up every single day because employees relayed to me that the forecast will be two days from now as far as restocking. Whenever I showed up they will say I'll gave us another two days and we shall have it on stock. Sad to say I don't know if I'm gonna be coming here anymore. read more
