Idk if it's just my luck...but this Walmart's customer service sucks. Even when I've called on the phone to ask someone to help me....she sounded like I was bothering her. Really? The cashiers I've dealt with were also not very efficient; just not fast enough it seems. The store does seem clean , & it should bec it's fairly new. Even the customer service desk is slow. MAybe staff is tired & short handed--IDK?! I just wish the customer service was better & the cashiers to be faster.....more sense of urgency! I dread shopping here, but bec of it's proximity to our house...I end up @ Walmart. They could still improve on the customer friendliness....& I don't mean greeting me 'HI" & "good bye" @ the door. I paid by using a cashier. She Rang everything up. I walk 20 feet and someone who I can barely understand wants to see my receipt. I say excuse me twice simply because I cannot understand what he is saying. Someone who doesn't work there walks by, gives me a dirty look, and says "he wants your receipt." As she walks by, she turns to the man she's with and says "what an @sshole" about me. Today is 12/29 and I went to return a Christmas gift. I waited a few days so that I'd avoid crowds. I usually don't go to this location because my nearest Walmart is in my own town but since I was in the area I thought I'd go to this one. I walk in and go to the Service Desk. There is a lady at the register finishing her transaction so I didn't have to wait at all. I proceeded to walk up and say Hi to the girl behind the counter. Nothing. I said, "How's it going?" And she proceeded to continue to not answer and simply scan my exchange. I then said, "Oh that good huh?" Still nothing. I think I got a smirk. She proceeded to finish my transaction and hand me my card and then simply said the amount on the card. I gave up and walked away. Walmart I get it you're hard up for employees I really do. But can you get someone who at least has a responsive person behind the CUSTOMER SERVICE desk who is customer service oriented. Sheesh. read more

No one expects excellent service from a Walmart. So I set the bar accordingly for this review. The New Lenox Walmart is among the worst the company has to offer. The store is typically out of stock on items and messy. At one time I had placed an online order with store pick up and received my text confirmation that the order was ready for pick up. I drove to the store only to be told that the item was not there. Why did I receive a text message stating otherwise??? Of course, the employee was clueless. But wait, there's more! It happened to me a second time. Shame on me. You know, fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice... Although Walmart is closer to me, I will often drive past them to go to Meijer and pay slightly higher prices for a better experience. And, there is always Amazon who is infinitely better than Walmart for online purchases AND, way better at customer service for those rare instances when Amazon makes a mistake. Do not expect to get any curbside pickup in any sort of timeframe that one would consider normal. I have been here 23 minutes waiting for my order. Followed all the correct procedures and nothing. I have stopped shopping at this Walmart as well as my neighbors. They want you to spend your time doing their job. When I have a full cart of groceries, I don't want to self check out. That's what cashiers get paid to do. It is also one of the most unfriendliest Walmart that I've shopped at. There are a few good employees, but most of them never smile or even bother to ask if you need help. Most of the time you can't find anyone to help. The shelves are messy most of the time so you can't find what you're looking for. Customer service is last on the list for this Walmart. I was told I would not get my money back if I tried to return an item that was already set up in their system to be returned to ANY walmart. This Walmart is a dump with empty shelves and stock so high you can't reach them. NOW, to add insult to injury, they are blocking the isles on both sides with boxes of stock so you can barely get by them to shop. These are catastrophes just waiting to happen. If a fire breaks out, a shooting, or ??? you won't have a chance to get out. People complain, but no one seems to care about correcting these issues. Horrible customer service! I just went there to buy a vacuum they said was in stock online. I asked the young girl in electronics if she could help me look. She barely made eye contact and said whatever is out. I asked her to please help and she came over barely helped and then walked away when nothing was there soo soo lazy. I asked her to look in back and she said she couldn't. Then I went to the customer service desk he also was lazy and lied and said they can't look in back. He told me to buy it online and come back. I don't have time to do that I was there now. I finally asked a manager who said she was confused why other people said they couldn't go in back so it clearly was not the policy just lazy people! DO NOT SHOP THIS STORE. On the way out of the store, an employee grabbed my arm for politely declining to show my receipt while pushing my cart full of BAGGED ITEMS out the door. To my knowledge, the employee was not disciplined and is still lurking near the exit doors. Would she do the same to a child that didn't show their receipt? This employee needs to be disciplined, re-trained, or fired. Further, it is Wal-Mart's stance that they did nothing wrong and they are focusing on the fact that I pointed my finger at the employee and told her not to touch me. The worst Walmart ever. *The staff is rude. Test them. See if they talk to you: see if they say hi, see if they say thank you. They treat you like you a a bother, management included. I know. Cause I have now talked to a manager here 4 times over the past year. my daughter laughs at this now and has been keeping score. In our last 15 visits we have been addressed 4 times. *The time when the deli clerk put a salami under her arm and walked around. (Yummy armpit salami!) this brings up another point... Why can't the figure out how to Use a number system? Why do we the customers need to referee ourselves? Oh and another deli gem.... If the staff wants to leave on time they clean the equipment early and only use one slicer. So you may have three paid employees there, but only one slicer. And they don't care. *the time the cake decorator quit while I was there and I got to participate in the excitement of this event, and no one could figure out how I could order a cake. So they told me to go to another Walmart. They couldn't even call it in for me. *the time they had two lanes open, and I waited 25 mins to check out. You know why? The manager told me it was so that they could close one set of doors. Maybe next time she could skip the ridiculous self serving reason and just open a register. I'm only writing this review in hopes that corporate reads it and does something. Send in a secret shopper and check it out. I was recently in the New Lenox Walmart and asked where I could find horseradish. The first two people I asked barely raised their heads and said "I don't know". Finally a tall woman pointed at the yogurt and it's there. It seemed like a strange place for it so I responded "by the yogurt?" She became very rude and told me if I didn't believe her I could go look around. I told I did believe her since she works at the store she should know. Then she said, " I don't know because I work hre, i just know because I know how to shop" then she watched me struggle to reach it at the back of the top shelf (im 5'1') I finally got aggravated and asked the giant woman to please grab it for me. Awful service CONSTANTLY. With the playstation 5's release this holiday season I was looking to try and get one for my little brother and I. First my father had gone in and asked the electronics desk worker if they knew when more would be coming in. Their response was "When will you people understand we are out of them". Great customer service right there. Now personally, I went out at 5 am two separate times to try and get one since some stores had been selling them in store only. My first attempt was alright. The woman who was running the line was nice and told us straight up she didn't know if they had them or not. That was alright. We were let in 1 at a time and headed to electronics. The service person didn't come in at the time we were told, and all we got after that was an attitude. Two other workers came to talk to use. 1 of them was alright, 1 was not. We were told electronics would not be coming in until 8 o'clock. Why were we not told that earlier? After that, another potential customer asked them to scan a barcode to see when shipments come in (fairly normal as you can just find the code in 1 online search). The worker who was already snippy with us refused to scan the code solely because she did not have a scanner. Is there not one behind the desk? They constantly refused to help us until the other worker just went and got one and checked for us. She told us the shipment came thursday night so they would be available for sale Friday morning. Between that, several of my friends and myself went in or called to ask if they would for sure have them. Every response was yes. Here's the good part. A different worker was running the line today. After everything that had happened and being told from multiple sources there would be PS5's for sale, we were told again that they were unsure if they have them but would check. WE WAITED 2 AND A HALF HOURS OUTSIDE IN THIRTY DEGREE WEATHER FOR A RESPONSE AND TO BE TOLD THEY DID NOT HAVE ANY. How?. I cannot understand how a stores communication can be that bad. A manager came out and told us they'd have 6-10. Literally 20 minutes later the line runner comes back and tells us they wont be selling any. There are so many things I want to say about that but I shouldn't. My friend had asked the tech lady when she came out earlier what would be happening with sales and she said the people who camped out all night had first dibs. She came back and instantly accused my friend of being a Liar and that she had never said that and told him word for word "I can refuse service to whoever I want to if they are being aggressive, so I can guarantee you right now you don't get one". WOW. After the line got in a commotion our line organizer basically just told us to go home. Somebody asked why they didn't tell us they weren't selling any earlier. The response we got was "I don't know". I live 2 minutes away from this Walmart, and I can say I will now drive the 7 extra minutes to Target regardless of what it is I need. I don't know how Walmart trains their employees, but they need to start over . Out of the 20 or so employees you encounter while shopping , maybe 3 or 4 will even make eye contact with you . Tried calling the store today to ask a simple question. called four times and NEVER got an answer, only a disconnect every time after about 40 rings. The customer service in this particular store gets worse and worse all the time. I realize it`s the Christmas season, but not having anyone who can pick up a telephone is way over the line as far as poor customer service. The reason for the call becomes secondary to the lack of concern for your customers. You can`t help them if you`re not even willing to pick up the phone. Wow, when was the last time this store was cleaned the self check outs were beyond disgusting. The change dispenser had large amounts of debris thank goodness we had gloves on, I should have left the change but I didn't. During covid19 special precautions are supposed to be taken per cdc guidance. This does require workers to disinfect self checkout area after every costumer . Obviously this is not occurring at the New Lenox Il store upon checking out I had to request employee to wipe the area down as she stood in the area not busy at all just watching masses of people checking themselves out .
