I got a pair of prescription sunglasses here and the people were really nice and helpful. Definitely would recommend them for eye stuff.

I have had the worse experience at this walmart. First on Tuesday night, i wanted to buy a watch at the jewelry, but a worker told us that once jewelry is closed thats it and we'd have to come back tomorrow. I know thats not true, i have shopped there before and it took a while, but someone eventually helped us. Today i went to buy the watch, and i asked a sale rep that i needed help in jewelry. Was there for an hour and the same sales rep kept seeing me and wasnt saying anything. No one came to jewelry. I just walked out. This is horrible customer service seriously. read more

I used to enjoy shopping at walmart - now I can't even consider going into the store. If the lights flashing back and forth every time a cloud passes wasn't bad enough, often flickering before coming on, they are flourescent lights (flourescent lights flashing are known to cause seizures in people with epilepsy) I hadn't realized wal-mart was like until AFTER I went into the store. Its only pure luck that I didn't have a major seizure because of this. As it was I had to stop double over and close my eyes ever time the lights flickered (having a minor seizure) until I could get back out of the store And my epilepsy is MILD. If I had a more severe case of it I would have definately had a convulsive seizure - likely falling down and cracking my head open in the process. I thought it was against the law to engage in practices that blatantly discriminate against the disabled? read more

This is a super busy location and the check out lines are always very long. This Walmart will have 5 or 6 unmanned additional cashier lanes that could be opened but they never open them. Management just allows the check out lines to remain long. read more

I have never been to a more rude Walmart. I went to pick up my site to store order and walked into the customer center. There was one woman standing behind the photo counter who said she cannot help me because that's not her counter. She screamed for another woman who was sitting on a chair in the back who came out and said she cannot help me because the ship to store does not open until 9am. It's 8:30. I politely asked can we make an exception this once because I am here and there is not a another customer in sight and all I am doing is picking up an order. She rudely responded "No I can't help you" This was clearly a case of laziness and rudeness and blatantly not willing to help a customer. There is absolutely no reason you could not hand me my order at the time that was sitting behind the counter. Absolutely the worst Walmart I have been in. Will not be returning to even pick something up. Site to store is ridiculous here. Get someone to work the counter and be there to attend to customers. Making customers feel uncomfortable and putting them in that kind of negative atmosphere is the best way to loose customers. Like myself. read more

The 'manager' (if you can call her that) of the WalMart store on Touhy in Skokie has no idea what 'customer service' is all about. My 8 year old grandson went to this store with his father looking for a particular Avengers figure, which he found on the shelf. After waiting in line for more than 15 minutes, the item did not come in in the register. The cashier even went back to the toy department and got another one just to check. She came back with a 2nd figure which also didn't scan, so she called the manager over. This women (and I use that term very loosely) looked at the item and stated that 'this is a Black Friday item and can't be purchased at this time'. She then proceeded to TAKE THE TOY OUT OF THIS 8 YEAR OLDS HANDS, leaving him crying. She could have cared less that this toy was a reward for him and told him that if he wanted it, he could come back on Friday. SERIOUSLY? I have now ordered the toy from AMAZON and it will be delivered - FREE OF CHARGE on FRIDAY without my having to go into this store again. I have notified my family and friends of the attitude of the employees of this store and we will NOT be returning to this, or any other WalMart store in the future. There are plenty of other merchants that appreciate their customers and treat them with respect. Apparently WalMart doesn't need my business!! read more

Negative stars for this Walmart. Please, someone, bulldoze it and spread lye on the ground so that no more evil can take root there. Particularly disgraceful are the INEPT management and the OBTUSE home office in Arkansas which continues to allow this store to be managed with all the efficiency and customer relations finesse of a Cold War Moscow bread line. 25 people in line to check out, 1 register open. Bottlenecks at all self service checkouts. Lone cashier disappeared to find a price or something. Everyone stood there, looking stupid, waiting for someone to get a brain cell pumping and open some registers. I told the guy manning that little booth over near self checkout to call the store manager, he looked at me like I spoke Greek. Then the supposed front end mgr. told me to talk to the store mgr. Then they pointed at some guy who was fumbling with some papers, trying to dodge the ugliness by ducking into an office near the Eye Ctr. I caught him first, confronted him, told him we had all been waiting for a long time and that they needed to get registers open. Like I should have had to tell him this. He glanced at me as he mumbled some words into a radio and vanished like a ghost through the door. Thoroughly miffed by the rude and lassitudinous indifference, I abandoned my cart and left. That night my wife and I went to Target In Arlington Hts. I thought the Mt Prospect Walmart was bad. The service at this store makes the Mt Prospect store seem like Nieman Marcus. Worst of all the Walmarts....Displays are usually messy with a lot ending on the floor..always out of stock on items that are not even sale items....most of the time. the sales people have to attend idiotic sales meetings on the floor instead of helping customers..,Items no correctly priced and the price checkers are hidden away somewhere in the store....just a piece of crap store! read more

I have been going to this walmart since they opened and know the customer service is just terrible, but remind myself it's walmart, I don't come here for the service, I come here for the things I need at good prices and just get what I need and leave. Yesterday I decided, after getting the worst treatment I have ever had from a cashier, that I will just spend a little more money and shop at Target instead. I understand the people work for minimum wage, but you still need to have basic customer service skills. I'm not asking you to go above and beyond, you don't even have to smile or say Thank You, but know what you job is and don't give every customer that comes in attitude. Even though Walmart might have low prices, its not worth going here. The store always looks like a storm hit it and the staff are not that friendly or even willing to help. The lines at the registers are usually long and the cashiers hardly try to be nice. I would rather spend my time in a nice environment and drive a few extra miles to go to another Walmart or Target. read more

One of the cleaner Wal-Mart's, BUT goodluck finding parking if you hate walking. The employees are not the sharpest knives in the drawer, but that's probably because management is terrible. If you go there at midnight, the first two rows in the parking lot are full, yet there's not many customers in the store...hmmm I wonder who could possibly parking there...& there employees don't speak much english, and are very grumpy, and dont care much about customer service. This is absolutely the worst store in the universe. DO NOT SHOP HERE AT NIGHT -- your personal possessions may be stolen, probably by the employees. Ordered a coffee grinder online, went to store to pick it up. Waited at least 10 minutes for them to fetch me this piece of crap. The box was damaged, the coffee grinder had no button or top, there was no manual or bubble wrap. Clearly unacceptable merchandise. Then when I return it the clerk does not return all of my money. Then she has to call a manager because she cannot fix it without the manager. Completely awful experience. read more

I rarely shop at Walmart, but I did their "Site to Store" method because they had the cheapest price on what I was looking for. I figured I was doing all the actual "shopping" online and just picking up in the store, how bad can it be? Well, BAD. I should have known I was in for a rough time when there was a sign that said, "Picking up a Site to Store Order? Touch screen to start" and an arrow pointing to.... a desk. No computer, no screen. After standing there for awhile trying to fiugure out exactly what screen I should be touching, an employee came up and said, "Hello" I explained I had a Site to Store Order to pick up. He spent a few seconds looking at some papers on the desk and the register and then said, "I'm new" and went to get someone from another area. Why is a new employee, who clearly hasn't been trained yet, left to run a desk alone?! It took awhile because apparently in the entire customer service/site to store/photo/money order area there is only one employee who knows what she's doing (Twanna, she was great, but since she was trying to take care of 3 customers at once because no one else knew how to do anything, she couldn't give full attention to anyone). So the original employee eventually went to get my boxes, and as he started bringing them out to me, another employee yelled at him (literally yelled) to answer the phone in the back. So my boxes are just left sitting there for another 3 minutes. Finally he came back and said he would help me to my car. I explained I had two other items I needed to pay for. He said he could help me with that, so I put my items on the desk. He stood there next to the desk for a few seconds and when I said, "That's all I have" he came behind the desk and stared at a piece of paper for a few seconds. It was clear he had no idea how to ring something up (so I'm not sure why he said he could) so I had to go over to the register area. The woman working the register there was perhaps the least courteous person I've ever seen working in a customer service role. She didn't utter one word to me - not hello, not "is that all?", nothing. When I walked away, I hadn't realized she had put my two (small) items in two separate bags (I still have no idea why) and when I started walking away with only one she literally grunted at me, holding out the other bag. Finally I got out of there after returning to the site-to-store area and having to wait another few minutes. Overall, for one of my few times shopping at Walmart this was a HORRIBLE experience. I don't even care if things are a few dollars cheaper... it's not worth it to have to deal with employees who have absolutely no idea what they're doing and grunt at you instead of speaking. read more

When I come to this Walmart and the one on Touhy ave in Niles , I feel like I am in India, I am SO SICK and tired of all of them speaking in their Language, This is very Un professional, Ignorance, e literate , uneducated... This place during the day, everyday, is a zoo! It's local and it's a super Walmart so I'm always there but there's just no good time to go, during the day if the self checkouts aren't working the cashiers take forever and at night it's a maze since they're stocking and there's boxes all over the floor making it hard to get through. The employees have are good as far as being helpful with questions and showing you to where things are. read more

I thought this Walmart was nice. It's pretty big, with a nice grocery section. Their parking lot sucks, but the rest of it wasn't bad. It's always pretty cheap here, and although I think Target is a little better, I would still come back. We came for a car battery, which they had for $100, but for the same price we got the same battery across the street and Autozone with a 8 year warranty and they replaced it for free (this Walmart doesn't have an auto center and the warranty was only 3 years).
