This Jewel has generally been okay, sometimes they have good deals but lately I've really had to check my receipt because of errors. Yesterday I got some of their cookies that had a BOGO sticker on the bag, no mention of needing to clip a coupon, and only after I checked out did I realize they charged for both bags and I had to get the refund from customer service. Today I see a bag of chips listed for $2.99 with clipped coupon (date is within the time of the posted item tag), scan the barcode and it takes me to a coupon for $2 off with Pepsi purchase. I search the app, no listed $2.99 coupon for that brand of chips. I look at the weekly ad, and it shows the $2.99 deal. So I go to check out, get home, and then when checking my receipt do I see it did not take the $2.99 price. They also changed the daily deli deals and they aren't as good as the previous ones unfortunately. Honestly the "deals" here have become so complicated it's almost not even worth it. I shouldn't have to make a stop at customer service every time I shop here. read more

This Jewel is an anchor store for the Oak Mill strip mall. They keep a pretty large inventory of general goods and their produce is usually fresh. Their parking lot is large and spacious and it never feels congested like at some other Jewels. It's a little tight and congested on their floor space inside though. They now have self-scan check out and I don't recall when that was added, but it's handy. The wife likes this Jewel when we happen to be nearby and a visit is opportune. read more

This Jewel sucks. First and foremost it's ridiculously overpriced compared to other stores in the area and by far the most expensive witching 5 miles any direction. They also never have hand baskets available and if they do the only have it at the west entrance so if you come through the other side you have to walk to the other side in hopes that there even is one you can grab. Then the self check out is awful even if there's no line for it I'll go to an open register instead because every single time I try to use the self check out it flashes that an attendant has to come over to let me check out and there's never someone readily available so it actually less co vent isn't than checking out with an actual person. Then the produce is always the crappiest produce possible all the vegetables are small or look like they were the ones the bigger jewels didn't want. There's also never anyone available at the butcher counter so you have no choice but to get the meats that seem like they've been sitting there several days. This is the closest place to me but I no longer go there I rather drive 10-15 minutes further for quality products and not insane prices. 0/10 would not recommend! read more

The staff at the deli counter at this store are rude and have no people skills. This is not my Jewel but I had gone to several stores in the area and decided to do my weekend groceries here. I went on Sunday morning 9/22/2024. I ordered lunch meat and cheese at the deli counter. The gentleman who took care of me did not talk at all. He had no smile, did not engage or say thank you. And when I told him what I wanted, he didn't acknowledge anything, he just walked away and began slicing. When he gave my the item, he didn't ask if I wanted anything else. I had to tell him. And when he gave my my last item, he simply handed it to me and turned around without a word. If your employees don't know how to interact with customers, have them stock the shelves, not at the front counter. read more

Since I ordered the original cake, the store has gone through some changes. I really like the staff at the pharmacy, they work really hard and seem way too busy and maybe they should add more staff so the ones there aren't so stressed. Stressed pharmacy workers sounds like a recipe for a mistake, to me. As for the bakery I am not sure what they changed, but the last two cakes we picked up from there were very far and away from the cute designs I received before. I feel like they changed their recipe or something, because they have been a lot drier than I remember. I don't know if they stopped using, or perhaps never used syrup to keep decorated cakes tender, but something is different now. The cakes I bought recently were not ones I would serve guests. So, my girlfriend decided to order from this location, today. We're having friends over for a game night, so she ordered four 2-liters of Pepsi, and four 2-liters of Coke. The worst Jewel ever to go in only when absolutely necessary which is rare do I frequent. First of all the temperature in the store is ridiculously freezing. The produce that is on sale or with the U barely stocked always an excuse the truck didn't come or we ran out it's the first day of the sale at 10:00 am how is this possible? The meat dept: the packaged meat of old spoiled turning colors how can you sell that? Only one register is opened and the self check out the first one by the employee desk to the right never takes off the U coupon always has issues that one machine the manager even said this. The employees are the rudest the cashiers are bothered and annoyed. Zero competence and mean. An employee yelled loudly to one of the baggers in a tone that was extremely uncalled for. I could have called the American Disabilities dept on what I witnessed Employees here don't seem to like their jobs. It's the most unpleasant experience I will go out of my way to avoid this Jewel at all costs. On the rare occasion of going into the store I cringe and can't wait to escape. There's a new younger manager I have seen as of late she's trying very hard but I'm sure she'll jump ship soon Soooooo disappointing! This location needs to do better read more

Got yelled at by a guy works at this location for switching out cracked eggs in the box. We went through 3 boxes all had at least one cracked so decided to just switch out the bad ones. The guy came screaming at us even after we explained it was cracked. I'm pregnant and felt so embarrassed and frustrated and almost bursted into tears. We understand if they don't want people to touch the eggs but don't scream at a 39 weeks pregnant lady. Worst experience at any Jewel location. We're Asians so not sure that had to do with it. The guy that was also taking a while to pick and switch eggs before we got there clearly didn't get yelled at. read more

If yelp would allow 0 stars this store would get it. Shelves are poorly stocked, produce is either under ripe or moldy. Make sure you check freshness dates, they are horrible at pulling expired items from the shelf. Customer Service is the WORST. Very rude employees running the front of store. They never have enough lines open. I am currently standing in a line with 9 (!!!) people in front of me because only one regulate lane is open. Sunday afternoon...shocking people would shop now. This store could be as good as the other stores around but it really seems like the corporate offices are okay with the functionality of this place.. I truly feel so bad for management. Especially those two have to deal with the 19th century self check out system that pretends to work. Literally every competitor store in the Chicagoland area has updated to the new systems yet this store can't seem to do it. How many times are you going to pay a tech to come fix an outdated system? Save that money and give all your employees raises for dealing with such chaos. The customer services department is slow. Waited 20minutes to buy stamps after the check out ran out. Was disappointed that they also ran out with no notice or regard of my wait time or even when they would get more stamps. The women seemed bored with life and hated her job. Just came back from this store. It was messy, the fruit that was on sale was horrible and 3 of the 4 self checkouts were down. The only reason I go here is that it's close and has self checkout. The store has been going downhill for awhile but this was bad. Only one staffed checkout lane combined with the failure in self checkout made for long lines, surly customers and flustered staff. Apparently jewel was still on the software belonging to their former owner. They recently changed to their own software which is way behind what they had. You would think since they had a couple of years to develop the program it would work well but it doesn't. Ideas for self checkout....stop asking for my phone number, automatically accept the produce weight and bring back the tap card reader. If it doesn't improve soon I will be heading to Mariano's or Tony's read more

This store is one of the worst Jewels I have ever been in. I went early this morning to pick up some items plus possibly some meat for dinner. I know that they were still setting up for the day, but they were out of many of the sale meat items. There was no one around who I could ask as well. The store has a worn and dirty look. The parking lot was littered with carts as well. I know as a fact that leaving the carts like that is not acceptable at other stores. This is a smaller store so I understand their selections can be limited but they should at least have some of the sale meat items in stock at a certain time. I did find one major safety issue as well. One set of exit doors was locked. This could be a life or death issue in case of emergency. When I went to the service desk to let someone know, there was no one there. You are better off going to other Jewel-Oscos than this one. I know why I try to avoid this location now. One plus - The employee in the produce section who wished me good morning and having the pop on sale in stock. read more

Was waiting with absolutely no acknowledgement and no sign or anything to indicate they were unable to serve customers. The absolute worst Jewel-Osco there has ever been! How this place is still operational is beyond me, it needs to be closed down immediately or restaffed. My husband just came home empty handed. This is common when I send him to the shit jewel. That's not the problem. While carrying our 11 month old son on his mission for one item he slipped on a massive puddle of water in the middle of an isle. No sign to warn of the slippery floor....just a puddle. He was able to stay upright ( thank fucking god) but ended up bumping his head with our sons. Both have massive goose eggs on their foreheads. This location is run by lazy slobs. Andrew was the cashier, and Nick the bagger. They were both helpful at best and patient with me and my two year old today. I had a lot of coupons and they made sure my transaction was a smooth one. Kudos to them both! :) As for the organization of the store, I found it difficult to find things. It took me quite a while (in which I found myself all over the store) to find the items I wanted. For example: the peanut butter was not close to anything you would eat with peanut butter. Better organization and more visible signs would be a great way to improve. read more

Beware of Price Tags Be careful when shopping - the large print price draws your attention, you put it in your cart....only to find that the VERY SMALL PRINT (that you need glasses in order to see) says "when you buy 4". Please be advised that my family and friends, go to 7900 n milwaukee jewel extremely often. My husband is a Respiratory Therapist. After work he went to that jewel that we always go to. He just came back from this jewel and bought beer and blue berries and strawberries. 4 little tiny bottles of rum. The last time he bought those the lady that was there taught him to just run the small item as many times as he had bottles. Mary, the store clerk yelled at him to scan and put in the bag. She then proceeded to say, " maybe I shouldn't let you buy this, you could be drunk for all I know." He then went the manager Mandy and she laughed. What kind of people do you hire? This is the most insulting way to appreciate your customers. Customers should be apologized to when spoken to in that manner and the manager should know better than to laugh any complaint like that off! No one would come over to assist me at the one open self checkout- waited almost 20 minutes before finally having to go to the customer service counter where I had to wait again. Been shopping there for over 40 years and worst service I have ever received in that or any other grocery store. I have been going to Jewel for years. I really have nothing bad to say about this Jewel. They treat me with respect, and everyone here speaks English which is a real plus!!!! They have my products I want and have good sales. They are also helpful when i need it. In the 15 years I have had one bad experience here in customer service. i complained and it was taken care of . Some of the cashiers here have been working at Jewel for years. They also hire people with disabilities and since I am a job counselor, I appreciate that. Have been going to this Jewel for 30 years. Has been on the decline considerably in recent years. Product choices have declined and shelves often in need of restocking. Biggest complaint amongst several would be coffee. Next time you're there look at the coffee available. In an attempt to fool the consumer they appear to be holding coffee prices down but actually the coffee sizes are smaller. Used to be 2 or 3 pound cans. Now its ounces and they are considerably smaller. Real scam going on there. Let the buyer beware. Too bad there is not a competitor near by. read more
