This Walmart is not good for most purchases! I have been coming to this location for years because it is close to me but lately this place has really gone downhill!! It is a very rare opportunity that you track down a staff member to help you and have them actually be able to understand and help you find what you're looking for. Also I am aware that this is a walmart, but their fruits and vegetables are not edible. I have gotten peaches that we're rock hard and never got soft, but grew mold. I have gotten apples which were very gritty tasting. I have gotten raspberries and blueberries that have gotten mold covered on them that same day. At this point I am convinced they are selling expired foods and I drive down to Del Mar to Whole Foods to get any food. Also they are always out of nearly anything and very disorganized. Also there is usually only one very unfriendly person at the return counter so if you're wanting to be there less than an hour I wouldn't count on it! They have also become more strict on their return policy which I can understand but if you sell me something that is rotten or goes rotten in a day I deserve my money back and I don't care if you can't resell it when your company makes millions every day. If I am totally desperate, then I will come here. For now I am waiting for the target to open up in the shopping center across the street. I will wait for target and continue to go to Whole Foods. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. read more

If you need a refill at their pharmacy, may god be with you! I've been trying to get a refill for 1 month. I'm out of pills and Walmart really could not care less! They act as though they're doing me a HUGE favor by faxing a refill request. This is absurd!! I'll be transferring my prescriptions back to CVS in Fallbrook, those guys are awesome. The Walmart pharmacy is awful and very rude when questioned. I like the store though, but stay clear of the pharmacy. read more

I must admit, I love Walmart... Just not this one in particular. The customer service needs major improvement. Some of the cashiers look at you like you stole their first born or something... Just like most Walmarts I go to, it seems they can have 100 people in a line sometimes and never enough registers open. And it wouldn't hurt to make sure the bathrooms were cleaned more often... If I can give the customer service a negative and beyond negative stars I would. I went to self check out and asked an associate standing there a question, ignored me to ask the other associate in self check out to help out. Well I asked in regards to my pricing for a gift bag as I was being charged more than the stated price and her response was "well hallmark prices them we don't" in reply to her answer I said "although it's hallmark how are is the price on the retail tag not being honored" her response again was "well it's hallmark" and I responded with "this is something you would like to tel your customers, great customer service" and she simply walked away. From the moment I was in line she had an attitude and had a small altercation with one of her associates for whatever reasons. I know working in customer service can be exhausting but you're getting paid to be nice not rude af! I tried calling to complain but of course no answer and I will continue to call until I reach someone. I'm almost 8 months pregnant and fell out and so disrespected and have never been treated so less of a human in Oceanside as I'm from LA. this is my favorite Walmart in my area. staff is courteous and helpful, store is always clean, and parking is never a problem for me.

After swearing up and down that I would never walk in there again, I was in a pinch and had to buy formula for my baby. So, in I went and out I came and the same solicitor who berated me for not donating while I was 9 months pregnant, a month ago, was there again and did the same thing! As a couple walked out in front of me, he gave his usual speech "Would you like to donate to ___" I know it is a Veteran's charity- either homeless veterans or something veteran related. I knew the question would come to me next, so I kindly smiled and said "not today, sorry". His response? "I didn't say anything to you. Have a nice day"- totally laced with sarcasm. I kept walking, shaking my head and he muttered "Oh, you'll get over it". At this point, I had enough. I turned around, midway through the crosswalk and told him that he has no reason to be so rude and that every day he is there, he is incredibly rude. Again, he responded "Well, I didn't say anything to you". Total lie. Again I got a sarcastic "have a nice day!". Last week, while driving through the parking lot, I saw this same man holding up a sign that said "smile" as he waved it to customers. I even noticed him conversing with a family as the crossed the crosswalk, as he obnoxiously waved his stupid sign and it was obvious they wanted no part of the conversation. Walmart was no help because the manager, who I called today, told me they would love to get rid of them from in front of the store, but they can't. Some city rule or something was cited. Can someone PLEASE tell me what charity organization the tall black man with beard and glasses works for? I need to call them and alert them to his conduct and I don't have the patience to go back to that store to see his flyer or table set up. Besides, at this point, it's going to get ugly. Sadly enough, this Walmart doesn't even deserve the One Star I have to credit it. What I have to say could go on forever. But first off, I have to mention that I have been coming to this Walmart for over 15 years. And for the last 5 years, it has really taken a turn for the worst. Not only do their employees seem unhappy to be there, they seem to drone on without paying any attention to their customers. I come from a customer service background and I find it ABSOLUTELY APALLING! There are employees everywhere, but you can never seem to find any assistance. They dart away, avoid eye contact, or sit around and chatter with other employees about 'management or work shifts'. I try to avoid this place at all cost, but it is so conveniently close I cave in. I wish they just had Self Check out lines, so I would not have to expect poor customer service. I have complained twice to a Manager and the same lady always comes off short and abrupt. Furthermore, their aquatic department should have a visit from Animal Welfare or Disease Control regarding the horrid conditions of their freshwater fish. The fish are sickly and their tanks are repulsive. Not only are the fish diseased, but the employees are obviously uneducated about fish species. They have aggressive fish together with docile fish. They DO NOT coexist together. Which is apparent since most of the fish are dead in the tanks. It is quite disappointing. I do not believe Walmart should be responsible for any live beings, but their own employees. If they cannot make their own employees happy, they should concentrate more of them and remove the fish department. read more

Went to this Walmart at 7:50 am. Walked in and BAM! a dog was going number 2 in the store. Told four employees what had just occurred, one even witnessed the lady picking up what the dog left behind with a bag and smear the rest around the floor. She then continued to walk through the store with bag in hand and threw it away in the store. None of the employee seemed concerned. This is the second time I've seen a "service" dog at this Walmart out of control. I have not gone back and will not go back. Shoppers beware, you might be picking up a product that a dog has sniffed, or scratched next to or worse. read more

One of the worst Wal Marts I've ever been in. They never have what I go in for, but it's the most convenient for me and their prices are so competetive that I do the majority of my shopping here. I really hate being hassled by the solicitors when I walk in and when I walk out. Donate $100 to homeless people? Umm no. Listen to the Cox spiel? Nope. I can never find what I need even if the website says that they have it in store. I am happy, however, about the self checkout lanes. I just wish people would learn how to use them. The employees are very rude and unwilling to help. Don't bother with site to store shipping. You'll never find anyone to retrieve your items. I waited for an hour for a guy to find someone that could track down someone that knew who was supposed to be working the site to store area so I could get my stuff and leave. For sure don't go here after dark. It gets pretty scary. I carry mace so I don't get attacked by someone going through the parking lot asking for bus fare or gas money, and that's during the daytime. The last time I was there, I wound up at a regular check out lane because there was no line. Really. The cashier completely ignored the belt divider and charged me for the next guy's case of beer and case of water. I didn't even realize it until the guy chased me outside, explained and gave me cash. Purchased a curtain last week. Got wrong color. My wife has the receipt. With her went to return it they said I paid $5 for it. I know I paid more. Told the manager hold on to this I'm going to check out the price my self. It was selling for $12. What up with that. I gave the package to him she scanned it it's $5. With out the receipt. So when you return items at Wal-Mart. The one on college St in Oceanside CA. With out a review you will get half back. This is new to me. Or I haven't been paying attention. If I could give this Walmart negative stars, I would. When I was growing up, Walmart was good, but I think over the years, no matter which Walmart you go to, its just got more worse. However, I do have to say that if Walmart is the only thing next to your house, which is trumped by so many pharmacy stores now, then it really doesn't make a difference if you just go in, get whatever you need, and get the heck out. Also, don't order and pick up at this store; yes, you may be wondering why would I do something stupid like that, well, the answer is, that my spouse is a stay-at-home and it was her Christmas present (and yes, the gift on Walmart.com was the cheapest by a landslide), so the only thing I could do is not send it to the house. Short story, they lost it and somebody else picked it up, and she never got her present on time,so I re-ordered from Sears (yes, I know) online b/c of the points, and it came a lot earlier than expected to the house. Don't even bother trying to get an OIL CHANGE here. Seems like everybody from Oceanside gets their oil change at this place no matter what time, yes, even early mornings on Sunday. Not worth it. I came one time and waited (signs say wait for attendant) for 10 minutes while watching 3 mechanics walk by without saying anything. Then I went into the store and the cashier was having a 10 minute conversation casual discussion about a movie with a customer who purchased already. I asked the cashier if he can get a mechanic for me and he just told me to yell for them. I came back out and they all disappeared somewhere, so we left and never will go back ever. If you truly want to get your oil change at a Walmart, I recommend the one in Vista next to Living Spaces; never had an issue there and its not as busy. Now, why do I use Walmart oil change? Because they don't pressure me to get a million services done like the franchise oil change services do. I know I'll just use a local from now on, but Walmart is go in and out, done, no tricking you to get other services done which they probably don't even perform and just take your money read more

I live close-by so it's kind of the go to place - but I wish it was still a dirt mountain as it was when I moved here. Useless - cheap shit, anything I "go to buy" - ends up being cheap - too cheap, and I need to make a return on occasion. The returns department ignores you when you are directly in front of them, even walking away and of course not an ounce of a greeting. I went there tonight and it was just fine no problems at all. I guess they are only going to be open 24 hours. I was shocked to hear they were open 24 hours since they have not been..... ever... despite what walmart.com says. All in all ok. No problem with rudeness, in fact i was joking around with some of the stocking people and I picked up a big ass hand soap refill and it did not notice that it did not have a top on it. This Walmart is a ghost of its former self. In its earlier days, although the aisles were cramped and it was crowded, there was a great selection of merchandise. In recent years that has changed. Several years before the grocery section took over a portion of the store they significantly reduced the variety of items they carry. Aisles were widened and shelves were lowered. Now, if they even carry the routine, day-to-day items I'm shopping for, I usually find an empty space on the shelf where the item should be stocked. At least half the time I leave empty handed because they no longer have the items I used to purchase there. Very annoying to have to make a 2nd trip to a different Walmart, or the competition across the highway, to get everyday, non-advertised items. The garden shop used to have a large selection of healthy plants and gardening supplies. Now it has been taken over as a warehouse location for their boxed up out-of-season merchandise. What few plants they still have look unhealthy and the variety of gardening supplies is very limited. What good is a 24-hour store if they just don't have the merchandise? read more

Angela at the door needs a new job! She is the rudest thing ever! I'm currently on crutches and needed one of those motorized wheelchairs to get some essential shopping done. So I crutched it in and looked around and no motorized wheelchairs to be seen. I ask her (Angela) if there is anymore and she says no they are all taken and goes back to looking around like I wasn't still standing there and no offer to let me help me find one?!?? So I'm looking around all confused like seriously I just have to crutch it through Walmart now? Luckily as I'm looking around confused, I happen to spot one in the parking lot and mention it to Angela and ask if she can get it for me. She says no she can't leave the door. She tells me to park myself on a bench and wait for someone to bring it back in because she is not allowed to leave the door. No offer to help get it quicker or call someone ASAP because after all I'm standing there on one leg. Like seriously I'm going to sit and wait an hour on a bench in Walmart for someone to come??? So I'm like whatever I'll just get it myself! And I told her she was rude for not offering to help more. And she turned around and said that I was rude. Wow talk about the worst customer service. She should not be the one at the door. Someone that unpleasant and unhelpful needs to be hiding in the back of the warehouse somewhere far from people! read more

I waited 2 hours for 2 tires to be changed and I was the first person there that morning. 3 cars that came after me needing tires and 2 of them also had oil changes left an hour ahead of me. the guy changing my tires found it more important to talk about how wasted he was the night before. thought it may have been just him but went back again and with one car aheaqd of me it took 3 hours for 4 tires. never going back. read more

These people are awful with customer service. As I'm writing this I'm literally trying to call them....aaaand they just hung up on me. Didn't even answer me. I'm literally just calling to ask them if they have something in stock and I either keep getting transferred or they just don't answer the phone. It's crazy. I just want to know if something's in stock and they are going out of their way to avoid me. I'll eventually get someone on the line if I have to spam call them because at this point it's sorta personal. I have been shopping here since it opened. It used to be well stocked with merchandise. Over the last few years I've noticed merchandise stays out of stock for months some times. Then today since single use bags are being charged I buy a two liter bottle of mountain dew and a loaf of bread and carry it towards the door i drop the receipt in my backpack. The idiot at the door stops me and asks to see my receipt I tell him it's in my backpack which is where the soda is going once I leave. He waits and asks me did the receipt print out I said yes dumb ass it's in the backpack. I find the receipt show him and walk out if I was carrying a bunch of stuff that cost more than the two dollars and fourty eight cents which was the cost of the soda and bread then stop me but not for that it's bull shit. read more

Walmart online: they sell everything but that does not mean the items are available. In other words, unlike Amazon, you place an order and you get a few days later an email that they credited your account back because the item is no longer available. That stinks, it means there is no checkup on the inventory etc. They just want you to buy, It is especially bad when the unavailable item is part of a bigger order where it is indispensable to have a complete order. So I ordered a bike and a trail gator, so I can take my little one behind me on a bicycle trip. I bought his bike online at Walmart as well a few months earlier. So now I have two bikes but no trail gator because they are NO LONGER available. And what is Walmart's advice: call the manufacturer and see they can provide a solution. Conclusion: WMT does not care on service before or after sale, only thing that counts is luring you in to order online. From now on I will stick with Amazon, AMZN always has a full description of the item as well as number of items available ! Oh yes, they also cannot ship everything to store in one shipment, there is no option to ask to notify when everything is available so you don't have to run 5 times at the store!! read more

Customer service suck today. Most of the time the people are great not today. First off had to wait a good 30 mins before I could get a mobility scooter, and when I did, I get the slows one they have with only a half a charge. Did my shopping, and notice as always the shelf's are either bare or in disarray. Funny how a store can stay open and out of the things I need all the time. Not just me a lot of people I have talk to said the same thing. Anyway after I check out, I notice my keys were missing. So I proceed to Customer Service and ask a clerk there if she could help me with my missing keys. I described them to her, she went to a cabinet and the keys were there, but because my son's work I.D. was on there, she said he would have to pick them up. I told this was impossible, because I had the truck, and he would not be able to come here. She lock up my keys and this is when I went off on her. Now grant you I should of not use some of the Language I was using, but I felt like I was be held hostage. I told her in not so polite words I wanted to speak to a Store Mgr. She said I am a mgr. I want a Store mgr not a Dept Mgr. She then told me they were not there. I told here to get one there, all I wanted was my keys to go home. After pitching a bitch for a while some other mgr showed up and told me to watch my language or she would have OPD to take me off the property. Anyway I call my son, who in turn describe the keys to her, and she then gave me the keys. I ask her if his I.D. was not on the keys how would they have give me the keys. She said I would have to describe all the keys on there, which I would not be able to do, because these are my son keys. The only one I know of is the truck keys. And so I pack up the truck, to go home and to make matters worse. I was so piss at them, I forgot my back with my wallet, and all my I.D. and cards in the scooter I was using. Had to go back, and I got lucky one of the cart guys knows who I am and got it for me. This Walmart used to be a regular store until the past couple years when it was turned into a super center Walmart. This didn't actually improve the store, mind you. Overall, they do have cheap prices and enough stuff that I can go in and get ten different and nonrelated items in the one store, however, I still dread going here and usually only go here when I need several things at once. The noise level is always crazy loud and a huge pet peeve of mine is that they have upwards of 20 cash registers and only about 5 open at a time, creating unnecessarily long and loud lines! The aisles are really difficult to get through, getting from one end of the store to the other is a battle with everyone else and their carts and kids. Every aisle is always swamped! I think in an effort to create a bigger and better Walmart, they have sacrificed a pleasant shopping experience. I do not shop for food there usually, because of past experiences. I went to buy beef there only to go home and open the package and realize it was mislabeled and I actually bought pork! I took this as a big deal because someone might be allergic to a food they had mislabeled, not to mention this is just evidence of some of the staff not paying attention. Cheap prices and a lot of items in one place, but at the cost of your sanity. read more

This WalMart can get really busy and difficult to find parking, but I suppose that is true of nearly every WalMart! It can be a bit difficult to find one of the small blue shopping baskets. I like that it is open all night so that I can shop when most people are sleeping! The Pharmacy is OK and usually not too busy - you can also check out at the Pharmacy if you're picking up a prescription. I have experienced some problems with milk expiring a week before the expiration date a few times from this WalMart. Also, I have had a lot of trouble with coupons! Make sure you know their coupon policy before going here - one manager told me in a matter of fact tone that "WalMart doesn't give anything away for free," in response to a coupon that I had for a free pack of gum with a purchase of another pack of gum, specifically for WalMart. I guess WalMart staff are not friendly all the time... but it sure is nice to check out with a friendly cashier when you actually get one. read more

This review is about their optometrist, Dr. Jeffrey Gold. This is the most unprofessional doctor I have ever seen in my life. I walk in the room and he never introduces himself, I had no idea who he was. He seemed irritated that he had to even do an eye exam. After the exam, he tells me I have a cyst in my eye, wind damage and a pinguecula. I ask him what may have cause it and he tells me that he does not know, and then says it may be age related. I asked him if the cyst or pinguecula will go away and he said not without surgery and then tells me not to worry. He actually told me to take fish oil and to blink my eyes more often to help the condition. I had to ask him everything because he would not elaborate on anything, he had short one word answers and was just a complete jerk. He basically just sat there with a blank stare and acted as if he had no care in the world. He made me feel horrible and I will NEVER be going back to Walmart for eye care again.
