Walmart has a reputation to keep up. Big 1-story building, you can get nearly everything there except good customer service, merchandise is on the shelves haphazardly, and the people who shop there have a few screws loose. That's odd, no one mentioned this to the Walmart at Porter Ranch. This Walmart has the same merchandise for the same prices as any other Walmart. But it's well taken care of, fitting in with the clean, newish neighborhood on the 118 Freeway. Being a Supercenter, it includes groceries, so it's more one-stop shopping than other Walmarts. I can't speak for the customer service, I rarely ask someone where this doohickey is or can they get that whatzit off the top shelf. Clientele? What I saw was typical suburban middle-class, not in line with the store's reputation. I had a very good experience at this Walmart, ranking it up there with the one in Burbank. No matter what time of day you go here its awful to shop here. I have tried late night or early mornings and it always is gross The most unfriendly staff ever. They never have enough registers open, ever Store is always dirty and ram sacked. The people that shop here are so dirty and rude They should never have opened up in our neighborhood. After purchasing my items with my receipt, the Walmart greeter (name: Linder) grabbed me from the back and proceeded to acost me and spew racist remarks... I have to tell you that I LOVE Walmart. They save me so much money every year and have just the right products. Their product selection team misses little in the way of things I need. I am also a Walmart Investor and I love watching the stock price rise. So keep shopping at Walmart! Walmart's free online order and delivery to store and free returns is the way to go--much better than Amazon. Who wants to mail back a package or pay for shipping or membership!? Walmart eliminates all of that drama and time waste. Plus you don't have to worry about someone stealing you package or being home or weather getting to it. Use Walmart Online before Amazon--plus Walmart's prices are better most times because Amazon has you trained like a show dog to just buy there so you don't realize that you are many times paying more than retail stores now--no one checks--they just assume Amazon is less and A loves you for it. But there is one thing not to buy at Walmart: Bicycles. I have expertise in this area and periodically test drive bicycles at Walmart and other places to check quality vs. your neighborhood bike store. Walmart is very good at getting the Chinese to make cheap bikes for them. They pay the Chinese about $25 a bike and put them on the Walmart floor for between $80 and $150.00 a bike--most approximately $100.00. Walmart licenses fancy names like Huffy and Puffy and Schwinn and Shimano to put on their bikes. They are cute, they look like the bikes you would find at your local bike shop, and are priced right--only problem is that they are pure junk. The are a pig with make-up, not the safest, not enjoyable to ride, most are very uncomfortable and the drivetrains that say Shimano on them, are Shimano China, not the esteemed Shimano Japan that makes parts for the best bikes in the world. I took a few for a test ride the other day while in the Porter area. The seats so cheap it was like have someone stick a pole up your A. The gears so poorly tuned that they kept skipping when I changed them, and the seat clamps unable to hold a seat stable for long. I know it cost more to buy a buy a bike from a bike shop--double or triple Walmart prices, but that is because you are getting a real bike! And one that has been assembled by a bike tech and usually 1-year free adjustments. You will enjoy riding on this type of bike and have it a long time. But if you are in the TV or Film production business and just need some cheap bikes for a shoot--sure Walmart is fine. In photos Walmart bikes look great. I just hope to never ride one again. Now, go shop at Walmart and spend some money... They are the best! read more

Third party vendors have become super aggressive at this store. I understand they have a job to do. As someone who used to do this job in the past, there are rules you have to abide by in order to maintain a good rapport with the location. You're encouraged to engage with friendly conversation to talk about the product you're promoting. If the customer is not interested, you thank them for their time and stop your presentation. What you don't do is follow them as they're shopping, corner them, or harass. Not an isolated incident, but has happened multiple times already to the point where it makes me uncomfortable to shop here. read more

The only complaint I have with this Walmart location is there online pickup process. It was never stated on the email where the curbside pickup would be, in most if not all stores it's basically in front of the store. But at this Walmart location, the pickup location is on the side which you can miss if you're not familiar with the area. They have like 4 curbside pickup spot in front of the store but it's for pharmacy orders. I had to go inside Walmart and ask if I could pickup my order and the lady working there told me to go toward the Stop sign and then turn left. When I got to the curbside pickup area, I checked in on the app (they only had spots 1-5 available to choose from even through there are like 15 spots). I checked in and waited 10 minutes, no one came out so I had to call the number on the sign. After like 20 rings, someone picked up and said they'll bring me out my order. That took another 10 minutes and when it came out, my item was damaged. read more

There are never any cashiers, the self checkout cameras like to accuse you of stealing every time you scan something, and there is so much merchandise locked behind glass the place may as well be a museum. Came in right now to get some groceries and gift card for a family member. Make sure if you are purchasing a gift card that it is the one you want. I wanted a holiday gift card for a relative and asked the young girl at the register if they had any. She simply pointed towards the front of the store (lazy). She did not ask if I wanted the other gift card or she could possibly go get it herself or to send someone to get it for me so I purchased the plain gift card I had. I then went to a manager to get the gift card transferred to a Christmas gift card. First they said no due to the amount. I asked again if they could please try and the other manager gave the okay. The selection of products from a market to a nursery and all other essentials for your home to outdoors is unreal.But what a mess coming here last night. So many people here. Yea I know its a most Christmas and I want to get all my shopping done now. Such a big selection on outdoor Christmas lights. I was very surprised that now there selling hard Liquor. They have a big selection of gift baskets for Christmas. You could see it in the employees eyes that they are tried. This store is big and they where open until midnight last night.Must have patience coming here and parking can be an issue. I was able to get a couple of gifts last night. I have come to this Walmart several time with my mom and pop. Nice shopping center area next door to lots of stores. Really big grocery Walmart as well. I was here during the holidays doing some shopping. It can get really crowded here like anywhere else. Gift and brought back items can be a long line when trying to get credits back. I came in for a AirPods they were set at a certain price on the shopping section on google. Had the most horrible experience. I was understanding when they couldn't price match and asked for assistance to get them for the price they were online, all the employees in particular management came in with an attitude and overly aggressive when I asked for help to be able to get the AirPods for the advertised price. Daisy and Celeste were very hostile, big win for them to protect their store. Marilou in the electronics department went in to use the restroom twice while I waited for her to help me and a line formed, I guess she was waiting for me to leave. When I finally received proper service from Emee in the front costumer service desk who spoke with Celeste and she agreed to match the price as long as someone walked the AirPods over. Daisy walked the AirPods over after Celeste had approved the price match but then refused, I then again asked Celeste to help with with getting the AirPods for the advertised price and out of nowhere came Richard whose picture proudly sits up there as manager and has a coach tag on and came in aggressively taking charge being a tough guy defending his merchandise as he should but he should also work on his hygiene his breath smelled so bad it made eyes water and I asked him to get me the information he was saying in writing because not in a malicious way could bare to stand in front of him and I wanted to leave at this point. The way he argued with himself to not give the price match is the way he should argue to get a better dental plan and maybe get healthier as it looks he only moves at at work. There was no reason for him to get involved and he should not be speaking to customers until he takes care of his hygiene. read more

They had registers closed so I went to self checkout and I couldn't scan an item, I asked for help when I saw the manager, and he had the guts to tell me to find someone else. He was so rude, mean and disrespectful! I saw another girl employee and she said she was busy but laughed at me. I had my baby in the stroller and they didn't care! I finally paid for my items and left the store crying!! Don't go to this store, they don't care about customers, they humiliate you, and make fun too!! I I'm not even on food stamps. The bakery at this location NEVER, EVER answers the phone. The one time they did, it was an Asian lady saying she's not the bakery, no one works in the bakery and no one is in customer service then she refused to give me her name. I escalated the issue (or so I thought) and a manager called me and assured me he would look into it and that my order had been updated. Yelp 2018 Challenge (05/100) I ordered something through Walmart.com...long story short it was cheaper only in this store so I needed it bought and picked up here. The parking is plentiful and I wished they had used some of that room on the inside because all the aisles were short, narrow and cramped. Wal-Martians usually only pay attention to themselves so blocking every aisle I went down to make it worth my while coming over here seemed to be the number one goal of the local Wal-Martians. But the narrow aisles helped in them achieving their goal of this task. Staff here looked liked they were on the verge of quitting, with the exception of one guy who helped out on the Wal-Mart.com pickup who was very friendly. Hey Wal-Mart...clone that guy and remove about a hundred of those narrow aisles because the scooter Wal-Martians can't even go down them. I will stay away from this location. read more

Threatened by EMPLOYEE After 5X carefully describing to a female mgr, by name, size and brand of the item I was looking for, mgr walked me far across the store to the opposite end, to the wrong area and items completely. As we walked, a most rude female employee started walking w us. When we arrived in the wrong area ,- w the wrong items - I exclaimed, "OMG! I told you 5X exactly what I was looking for! Wow! I see why this store has been rated so low. Customer service the worst!! 8:05pm, mature lady attendant at electronics. I respect that she is up there in age, but you have to a knowledge the guests, you can just walk away for no reason and leave me hanging as I was the next customer in line. I had everything else and their manage just keep telling me that he can exchange yet I did not wanted to exchange I needed my money back. This review is based on Social distancing and how clean they kept the store! I love the fact they have one way in and one way out for customers and love how thoughtful of them to have a covering at the front entrance just in case and it does gets hot out there...so when people are in line to get in, the customers don't get overheated. Thank you Walmart in Porter Ranch!! This was my 2nd time here, and I'm very impressed with this Walmart!! I hear horror stories of the one in West Hills, that's why we came to this location and HAPPY we did!! OH! And I witnessed the workers sanitizing the carts too!! Excellent!!!! On Thursday, October 3, my mother and I came to this Walmart store. While my mom and I were waiting in a relatively long returns line, my mom began to feel light headed and like she was about to pass out. I suggested that my mom have a seat on one of the baskets. In doing so, my mom took a cushion on the returns rack to sit on the basket. Several employees walking by did not seem to have an issue with this, however Jo, a sales associate, took notice and asked my mom to get up to remove the cushion she was sitting on. My mom then explained that she was feeling lightheaded which was why she was sitting on the cushion for a moment while I was waiting in the returns line. Jo then responded "I didn't need to know all of that," and she proceeded to report my mom to one of her managers. The manager did not seem to see any reason to address the situation because they did not bother my mom. I feel that the whole matter was escalated unnecessarily and it could have been handled better. I firmly believe that Jo would benefit from a customer service training course. read more

Not a store I enjoy visiting at all. Crazy parking lot usually almost full with rude in a hurry inconsiderate drivers. Same people shopping in the store. Lots of children not brought up with the greatest manors. As for the store itself pretty week sales staff. Most of the time they don't have any working knowledge of the products they are selling. ( all they really know is stocking and organizing shelves). Nothing more. McDonald's is slow but getting better. Maybe 2 stars now that it looks like they have a whole new staff. The pharmacy gets a one star as well. Pricey on some items. They think they are the drug police and should question doctors scripts. Poor customer relations and leave people in pain without their doctor ordered medications. read more
