Do not order a phone from this store on line. If they mess the order up, it's you that will have bricks instead an actual phone. I purchased two phone on sale at Walmart.com Black Friday Took both phones out of the box, tested and charged to 100% I disposed of both boxes. Went to activate the phones a couple days later and was told that Walmart did not scan the phones correctly and the IEMI was not registered. Took both phones back to Walmart and they would not take as a return because I had disposed of the boxes. Said without the boxes they could not accept or activate. I have everything in the box including papers..... just no boxes First, these guys are the ones that messed up. Not me. There is a assumption in shopping that they scan these two phones correctly. I almost always find what I need at this Walmart! Customer service is good! And the Walmart app is very helpful if I can't find an associate! It's where I do most of my shopping :). I have shopped at this Walmart since it opened 25+ years ago but will never step foot in there again. It's been going downhill for years but what happened the other day was unbelievable. My husband and I stopped in to pick up a few items, 10 to be exact. I usually do self checkout but the line was atrocious so we found a cashier. I paid while my husband got the bags. He saw a bag off to the side and asked if we had all our stuff and cashier said yes. We left with our three bags and within a few minutes of getting home we realized we were missing 4 items. I immediately called the store, no answer, which is the norm. I grabbed the receipt and we drove right back to the store. Very long story short, because they yanked us around for over 25 minutes, we were treated like criminals for their mistake (honest mistake, this is not an attack on cashier). We were told "Security" needed to look at footage from register, which that in itself was ridiculous. They've got people walking out with stolen merchandise on the regular but your going to put your crack "asset protection coach" on the case of the $26 forgotten bag heist. This guy determined we got all our bags. How he could possibly know this from an overhead camera, when he had know idea how many items were purchased. He was nasty, aggressive, rude, and dressed like a slob, extremely unprofessional. He literally called my husband a liar when he said the photo he showed us didn't look right because there was a bag off to the side. I asked "Security guy" how many bags we took and he responded "plenty". It was one of the most ludicrous interactions I've ever had. I dont know what is wrong with this guy but he needs a mental health check and he would be fired if he worked for me. I'm not sure what he was getting at but we weren't accusing them of shorting us a 65 inch television. The bag literally contained salt, blackstone griddle seasoning paste, a 97 cent silicone brush and a bottle of Suave hairspray. Must have been a slow day for security guy .They wronged us and instead of an apology for our troubles this guy escalated what should have been a non event. I wasn't even angry until after 20 minutes I was told "you got your stuff". My husband had the good sense to walk out before he lost his cool. I followed about 5 minutes later. I did call corporate the next day and they had a store manager call me. I was able to go back and get the items we were shorted but after that ordeal and no real apology from anyone in the store, I'm done. Shop at your own risk and God forbid they forget to give you all your bags. It's not worth the aggravation. There are so many better options. Target is my go to for good reason. read more

Forget trying to use the fitting room in this store. The sign on the door says open 10-5 but at 1pm no one in sight. The doorway to the fitting room was blocked with boxes same as it was two three days before. I had an arm full of items to try but ended up leaving them on top of the boxes. I am not wasting my time trying on clothes at home just to drive back to return or exchange. The first time I went this week the employee said they "lost" the key to the fitting room. Been to this store many times.1. Once the pharmacy didn't fill the whole pain prescription given by a Doctor. 2. Bought a phone and when I asked the clerk in electronics to call the number to help me install it and get the promised discount. The clerk pretended and I was charged a ridiculous monthly phone bill. 3. Bought some groceries and was overcharged, btw I've been buying this product which was coffee at this location many times. I bought the same coffee at different places and knew and saw the sticker price at all locations before purchasing. VERY neat and organized store. The staff was GREAT. Each person seemed like they actually wanted to help me. They didn't just ask if I needed help for the sake of asking. Everything was well stocked...Almost to a flaw. They were certain sections where the merchandise was literally about to fall on the floor, because things were so well stocked. Went for a propane refill paid and was told to wait out front with the tank. Waited for over 30 minutes and no one showed up. Allied after 10 minutes and was told someone would be out. Still a no show. Hubby went in for a refund. Service feral was dark. Lady told him they were closed. He said no you are not I need a refund. No one ever showed up to exchange tank. Exeter Township PA has the best Walmart auto service without question. Disgusted with the poor Optima battery life, purchases elsewhere, I drove the bad battery straight to Walmart, for a 5 year FULL warranty battery, for my bucket truck. Like my wife's Buick, with the battery under the back seat, and my GMC pickup last year, a Walmart tech tested the battery (stone dead), replaced the battery, took the old battery out of my pickup and gave me the core credit on checkout. I was in Walmart Perkiomen Ave, Reading today. The health and beauty aids section has been rearranged obviously to prevent theft. It is so theft deterrent that the department is also a fire trap and random shooting trap. There is no way out of this department in an emergency. The section is like a maze with cameras all over the place. Extremely tight space to enter and exit the area. One shopping cart in the wrong place and you are trapped in. Walmart cares more about saving its goods than saving lives. I feel especially bad about the employees who have to spend hours stocking the shelves in that department. I will never shop in Walmart again. My next step is to notify the fire marshal. SHAME on Walmart for their total disregard for the safety of it's customers and employees. read more

5 stars for the Grocery shopping area and only 2 Stars for The Walmart ordering online pick up department. Early in the morning I ordered an iPhone and a minutes card online to pick up at this Exeter location. I was told that when my order was ready for pick up in an hour or so I would receive a phone call/email to come pick it up. Well I waited all day and never received it. I went down there the next day and asked if it was ready and it was. It was actually ready the day prior and I never received the call/email to come pick it up? Then when someone finally came to give me my merchandise, there was some sort of problem where I had to wait for around 30 minutes. Eventually I asked what's the problem and they said there was an activation card/paper missing with the order? After another 10 minutes or so the manager and the associate finally realized that the card/paper was taped to the iPhone box! I had to laugh. This situation with ordering online and not being notified has happened twice at this location with us. read more

This wal-mart has turned to complete crap. Use to be the nicest one in all of Berks County & I'm sure its because corporate pays their employees like sh*t that they cant get good help. I called 7 times in 2 hrs during peak day hours & not a single employee picked up the phone, at one point I heard someone pick it up & then hang up. I even let it ring over 20-30 times each time thinking they were busy. I get there at night time to return a few things from the prior day & the greeter says customer service is normally open til 8pm but today they've been closed all day in that department so have to come back. The 1st night I went, there was 2 employees that didn't speak much English that they couldn't really be of any help to me. Their one department where the blinds were was a complete mess & nothing organized or in correct sections that I had to shuffle through to finally get what I needed. Fast forward another day forward & I went to return the wrong size item & seek the correct ones. The girl who was working that night was young & had absolutely NO polite customer service skills as everything was more of demanding questions in an irritated tone "what do you need?, you have the receipt?, what's wrong with it?" I had already told her I needed to return blinds & get the correct size & clearly the returned items were fully sealed & unopened. read more

It's been real nice being a Walmart customer every time I go I spend way more then I can afford over $100 but after today I guess Target and Walmart are no longer getting me as a customer.....I went to the store in Reading in Exeter, PA I usually park in the Garden center then they sometimes open the doors when they close them on me.....they never make any announcements that they are closing doors like other Walmarts do.....I know how to open the door so today my wife tried to get someone's attention he ignored her.....so I opened the door myself....then that ignorant employee chased my family down to yell at me and curse me out (which to be fair I did it as well) then he called LP and they chased my family down he told me if I do it again he will trespass me....I don't really care but my problem is the reason....because I have kids that I want to get out of the store quickly?? Worst shopping experience ever today 2/2/21 at approx 5:30pm that started with the alleged Walmart "greater" who said NOTHING to me and then looked at me like it was my fault when the sliding door wouldn't open to let me in....next stop electronics....the kid had no clue and points me to the service desk to help...next stop service desk who was of no help because I was trying to pick up an on line order and "on line orders is a different system"....hmmm same store I wanted to pick up my item....next stop customer pick up area and the girl there tells me "I have over 200 picks in the system and there's no way I can locate yours." I did get proper instructions on how I would have to go on line to cancel the order then purchase the item that sat on the shelf looking at me. So when I got home, I did just that - cancelled my order and I will NEVER step foot in that Walmart or any Walmart again!! Sam Walton has to be rolling in his grave watching that store try to operate. I would agree with the other review that said - "drive two miles down the road to the Target." This is regarding the Photo Center. Went there a week ago and ordered a 5x7 canvas of my late Grandmother for my aunts 50th birthday. Had the receipt which said ready by Monday at 5:00pm. Well, today's Thursday and I figured I'd give them ample enough time to finish it (mind you, I never received a phone call). Took my receipt to the photo center lady, who went up to a box of other canvas and threw them around looking for mine. She then comes back and says "nope it's not here we don't even do 5x7 I don't know what to tell you" THIS WAS HER EXACT WORDS. I was confused considering I ordered it from the kiosk at this location and had an exact date and time on when to pick it up. I then asked the lady where the canvas would be then, if they don't have it? And she answered again "I really don't know where it's at". Fed up I walked away because she was rude and unacceptable. It would have been completely different if she just said "I'm really sorry that we didn't get this order, can I offer something different that could be ready by Saturday". I didn't even once get a kind word from her, even though it was their mess up. I'll never return to the photo center again. This is why I shop at Target. read more

This store is very spacious & has a large variety of product - but don't expect a handful of the associates who work there to help you purchase those products. I was in electronics and had asked the associate if they had any more of a specific brand of phone cord in the back since the shelves were empty. I have been to Walmart stores where they will simply use their scanner to tell you whether they do or not and that's that. When I told the associate that the shelves were empty / they replied with "well that's probably all we have then..." without bothering to check: I'm sorry but since when is "probably" an acceptable answer? And honestly how hard is it to walk 10 feet over to the isle and scan a barcode for a customer who would willingly do so herself if she had the access. Apparently too hard, even though I was the ONLY customer currently shopping in the department. When I followed up by asking if they could check the inventory - they rolled their eyes and silently picked up the scanner with haste - to which I replied "Nevermind I'll buy another brand - don't bother," which was apparently an acceptable thing for me to do since they then dropped the scanner and continued to do whatever they had been doing prior to me annoying them with my presence. The brand of cord I wanted to buy was double the price of the others, but based on experience and according to popular opinion, it is the only brand that would actually work for longer than a few weeks. Because of this associates lack of customer service - not only was I was forced to walk out with a product I didn't want (my other one had died and I absolutely needed to leave with one) but Walmart lost the additional profits they could have gained had they had any in the back. If it wasn't for the very kind check-out associate, I would have given this place less stars. But I do realize that one person does not represent the staff there as a whole, although I'm sure they represent a few. read more

I went online to check availability of a product at Walmart, in St Clair.... it was not available online, nor in the store... so the "online " directs me to the Hamburg store, but we were going " out of town in the opposite direction". O well, we would take a " road trip on the way home, I guess. On the way home, as we approached near the Hamburg exit, we get notifications that they no longer have the products, and that my " online order", and the other store items are at the Reading store!!!!! So Another 25 minutes in the opposite direction we go. I get to the store, where there is a " kiosk" to get your online orders, I put my info , and #'s in.... nothing, after a few attempts, I ask a girl for help, she sends me to the " courtesy desk", where apparently I get into the wrong line, and hold ppl up, because I " don't have a ticket in hand", they call a manager to help, he looks up my account....NO Orders! I told him of All the running around I just did , and I had a circular from another store fore the products I Did but in the store( for price matching), I was told that I would receive " something from Walmart for my troubles, but Never did, although he took my name and address, And phone number. And they Never price matched my items, ( which would have saved me $8.00 on the spot, and considering I live over 30 miles from the store, was going in the opposite direction From the store in the first place and was directed To the store by Their internet web sight, $8.00 savings would Just cover the gas I used all day. My mother went to the Walmart on Perkiomen Ave. she did her shopping and went to check out at the garden center entrance. For some reason they were having a meeting while the store was open. My mother had to load everything she took out of the cart back into the cart because they told her to go up front with her merchandise. The one thing you never never do is ignore a customer. This is about the vision center. I only had a simple question over a pair of glasses that would've taken less than 5 seconds to answer. Someone walked by me and I asked him, the response I got was "you have to wait your turn in line". As he walked over to an aisle to look at candy bars. The employees act like your an inconvenience the moment you step in their line. Don't go to the auto center the lady has the worst attitude m. My nephew was also discriminated against by a cashier. He patiently waited in line stepped up to a register with the light on. Was told the lane was closed only for the cashier to ring up the two people behind him. Way to make an 11 year old feel stupid and less than he is. I'll make sure to shop elsewhere along with my family and any other fellow veterans I come into contact with. read more
