First time visiting a Walmart and after hearing and seeing all the horror stories on Facebook and other places I honestly didn't know what to expect. I went in looking for an electric razor I had seen online. Place was roomy tons of parking and really really big. They have everything I couldn't believe it groceries health products clothes pots pans electronics you name it they got it. Well I got the Philips Norelco Shaver 5700 it was 119.97 which I thought was a good price. I ended up browsing around getting other stuff and was checking out the HD TV's they had Visio and Samsung 4K Ultra all on sale. I'm gonna do my research on the models they have and probably go back and grab a nice 50 inch of it beats prices @ other local stores but was pleasantly surprised experience was not anything like what I was expecting will definitely be back. read more

Went to Walmart today .In Saugus,Ma...When checking out I went to use my credit card . Which is valid and good . I tried 3 times and it said invalid . All ways chip and swipe . The cashier said it happens on this machine every 3 customers...The cashier says she would have to void my purchase and go to customer service and have them the ring my 25 purchases again !!! I feel like I am a in a giant box when I am in this store. It's very crunchy and the aisles are small. If you like playing shopping cart bumper cars this is the store for you! Before I enter the store I take out my rosary beads and pray I won't get hit in the parking lot. The pros are there is garage parking which is great if you want to go shopping when it's raining or snowing. I have not experienced super long lines there which is good. Let me tell you who has moved up Ten Thousand percent in my estimation... Walmart, specifically the new Saugus location. For reasons I'm not going to go into on this platform, me and my girlfriend had no where to stay during the blizzard. I decided to park in the garage under Walmart and wait out the storm. My worries about whether or not this was ok were quickly put to rest. Not only did the store remain open for the duration of the storm, so that we could go in and out to use the bathroom, buy snacks and just stretch our legs, but one of the managers came down to our car a couple times to make sure we were ok and offered for us to come in any time if we needed anything. There were very few people including plow drivers who came to the store throughout the storm, but the store remained open and the handful of staff were very nice. As far as I can tell, nothing else in the area was open. This has been a difficult time for us, but we were made to feel safe and welcome at the Saugus Walmart. I will not easily forget this and will be a lifelong customer of Walmart, more so than ever before. read more

This is a very impressive store. Very clean and new with a full on grocery store on one side. I live in Reading nearby, so this is a huge step up from my local Walmart in North Reading. That one is a real dump. My big complaint here is the location on Route 1. Ask any local and they will quickly tell you how awful the driving situation is on this road. Just a complete nightmare. I just don't understand how this location was determined by the powers that make these decisions at Walmart corporate. They messed up my entire Christmas order. They indicated online that they had a product that they didn't, and didn't have the rest of the order ready 12 hours after they were supposed to have it, causing us to have to make a separate out of the way trip two days in a row. When my husband asked for assistance at the store on the day the order was supposed to be ready, the customer service person acted like she was doing him a favor to check the status (only to find it wasn't ready). Then, when he later asked for a manager, the employees said they didn't even know where the manager was and none came to help after he waited ten minutes. As a result, we had to go out of our way to make a second trip during the already busy pre-holiday week. In addition, they cancelled the main item of my order two days after I placed it, claiming they no longer had it even though they indicated online that it was ready for pickup the day before. However, when I went online, the item was still available and wound up getting shipped to me to arrive after Christmas--at Walmart's expense. Total cluster. I used to be a frequent Costco shopper when I worked in Waltham and got all my household stuff and plenty of groceries there..but alas my job moved and I thought I would check out this Walmart which is convenient to home. I don't think I will be returning as my experience was mixed - full disclosure - I have never shopped at a Walmart before, but thought I would check it out since the Target on route 1 is not that nice. The place was clean and I do not see why people are complaining about the parking and entrance - it is easier than a lot of other businesses on 1. Selection though seemed rather poor for a "super center" - I expected something larger with more choices. I mostly shopped household goods and groceries. Most things were not priced that much cheaper than grocery stores - just a little cheaper. The main bargains were in household products like paper stuff and cleaning products. Groceries - very mixed. I got some great looking apples for 97/lb. Green peppers were nice and very cheap. Potatoes/onions/carrots - very standard and only a tad cheaper. Bananas were all way over-ripe. I could not find usable mushrooms - all rotten and priced higher than Trader Joe's down the road. Meats - not cheaper than your regular grocery store for beef or chicken and they do not have many good cuts. They did not carry any lamb at all. No fresh seafood either. I don't think I would go back to save on a few items and then have to go do my other grocery shopping elsewhere. Target in Woburn seems to be the best option in the area - that is a nice Target. read more

Pros: I didn't wait in an outrageous checkout line. I understood the majority of the language spoken by the staff. I found one of the 3 things I went in for. Cons: No isles to walk down, between the overstuffing of product, staff chatting In the isles, and carts of stock left everywhere....it took me twice as long to navigate the store. Clothing and shoes had become the new carpeting decor in their respective departments. I didn't even try browsing through there. Looked more like a fall hazard than a place to spend mine mindlessly. The sports section...if you want to find roller blades forget it. The boxes, aside from being in disarray had been broken into and many had parts missing. Several other products had been cleared from their boxes and taken leaving the box on the floor as proof of how easy it was to allude this store perhaps. The website listed adult sized Rollerblades as available as did the representative at the store when I called...but no. I dare say this store makes Lynn look good and gives Salem a fighting chance. I've had one good experience months ago in this store and this weekend it went out the door, I was in the ladies department and no one was able to help me must be a language barrier. I approached a manager her name tag said Sandra who was clearly inconvenient by my approach because she was too busy on a FaceTime phone call and tells me to wait, I mean it's understandable if the employee's do not have good customer service skills if the manager Sandra is setting such an example. By the time Sandra decided to " help" I was out the door. I was trying to buy my daughter a new carseat so I saw one from Graco on sale for $59.98. But by the time I got to the cash register they told me it was $150 instead. So I brought the manager to where I got the car seat where it said $59.98 with a HUGE sign with the price. Not only did she say that was not the price but she was saying "I wouldn't know if a customer moved the boxes there to get it for that price" let me remind you I had my 2 years old daughter with me. How on earth do you think I managed to move 10+ boxes of car seats all by myself? Last time I checked even if those were mis priced they were supposed to honor the price for me but they didn't. That's not why I'm upset I was upset because they had the nerve to accused me of something like that. After that I paid for the rest of my items. At the end they told me they ran out of plastic bags. Ok...i paid and went to the bathroom to change my daughter's diaper came back out. Saw the same cashier with plastic bags now so I went ahead and ask her for some. She pretended that she couldn't understand me and starts speaking Spanish and another customer had to translate and he told me she needed to save the plastic bags for her other customers. That's when I told her I literally just paid so I am a CUSTOMER myself but she refused to give me any plastic bags. Let me remind you I come her all the time because they open late but I refuse to come back with their customer service being this horrible. I've been in customer service for 12+ years and I never once treated a customer this horribly. Walmart Bakery horrible communication. Placed my order for a 2 tier cake and a 100 cupcakes with detail instruction 30 days before the occasion. These idiots called me on the day of the event to ask me how I wanted the cake. After I left detail instructions. When I pick up my order the color scheme was wrong and it's was to be butter cream frosting and they put that nasty frosting and the wrong flavor I wanted vanilla and the made the cake chocolate. I shop about 3 or 4 mornings a week during senior hour mostly for vegs,fruit, dairy, grocery items + meat. For about the past month "every" time there I see at least 1 employee doing stock without mask(they have it under their chin) not covering their nose + mouth. This morning at approx. 6:05 am I went to dairy to grab milk + cream and witnessed a young lady putting in dairy product with the mask under her chin. So I took her picture (this is second time I took picture) to show a manager but no manager to be found at check out. I "did not" purchase any milk or cream as a result of this. Awesome, new Walmart store opened TODAY right along Route 1! This Saugus location is definitely the most state of the art Walmart ... EVER! This location is HUGE, has a full grocery line, as well as friendly and employees. Super clean (yet that is expected considering they just opened!), and very busy. It seemed somewhat shocking that Walmart would open here, not in the sense that there isn't another one around (well actually there isn't.... the closest Walmart's to here are in Lynn & Danvers), but since there is so much competition with both Kmart and Target within walking distance, they knew they would have needed an overwhelming store to get the business. This store has a parking garage, which I am not a fan of..... but has some outdoor parking as well. The entry way was somewhat poorly designed, but overall, the store is open, large and well organized. They have self checkout and a full line of groceries, which Target and Kmart also don't have (most Target's do.... but Saugus doesn't). Staff are friendly and kind and they are doing a great job getting customers into this place with the shiny new sign and large, bold building along the busiest sector of Route 1 that I am aware of. I think both Kmart and Target in Saugus will get a run for their money.... this place rocks. 5 stars for the Saugus Walmart. read more

So this is my first time at this Walmart location, I mean everyone has been to a Walmart knows what to expect it's a Walmart. Great prices wide selection of different products even produce you can't go wrong. Everyone that I encounter today was very friendly and helpful and I will definitely be returning to this Walmart location. Plenty of free parking under the parking structure or right in front. The great thing about this location is they actually have a dr. Scholl's foot machine that you could not find in too many places that actually works. read more

The company's new return policy has been poorly developed, and is very customer unfriendly. It bans the return of apparel, which has no basis in the science regarding Covid-19. The CDC has declared that the virus cannot be transmitted from "fabric", yet the company includes these items on their "non-returnable list". The company does not inform its customers that the purchase of said items cannot be returned or exchanged at the time of sale. This half-witted policy by management lacks common sense, causes harm by retaining customer funds for unwanted apparel, and prevents the purchase of the desired/needed items. Customers should refrain from making any purchases of clothing/fabrics offered by the company until this policy has been amended. Please take special note that no other clothing retailer abuses their valued customers in such a disrespectful and deleterious manner. read more

Last week I went to the bakery department at the Saugus MA Walmart to order a specialty kid's birthday cake. I called prior to arriving to confirm they they had the Hello Kitty birthday cake I saw on line. I hit the jackpot when I reached bakery clerk Mary Ann who went above and beyond helping me not only over the phone but when I arrived in person. Mary Ann confirmed on the phone they had the cake, took my information and when I arrived could not have been any more pleasant and accommodating. She is a star employee at Walmart and as such hope she gets the recognition she deserves! read more

So very disappointed in this Walmart store in Saugus, ma. We walked in and directly in front of us were 6-7 Employees "hamming" it up in Spanish. A real party atmosphere!! This was a pattern throughout the store. We asked 2 workers for some direction in locating some products--their English was poor and not helpful at that. The store has so many empty areas lacking in product. Lots of employees though--most lacking any purpose. I am sure if I went to a foreign country to work, I am sure I would have the speak (ON THE JOB)the language spoken by their people. We thought WE were in a foreign country. On a bright side, we frequent a Walmart in Clearwater, Florida (for winter months). It is so well run!! Workers are very knowledgeable , helpful, and attentive to their jobs. A remarkable difference.
