I just had a great experience at customer service at this Walmart! (8/2/20 7pm). I was dreading to take returns in, usually a hassle. But I stood in line for under 15 minutes & was greeted with a friendly welcome. I had 13 pieces of clothing to return, with no receipt & almost 60 days since purchased, from a different Walmart. Poor communication regarding COVID customer practices & information relation. store hours according to some signs state 24/7 hours, while online it says 7 am. And upon entering was quickly escorted out on the notion that they are closed yet there would be open entrance if I walked futher down for customers. This was confusing and contradictory. I guess my review didn't register. I used to admire this Walmart compared to any other around me. This past visit has me baffled how the manager who hires these kids doesn't pay attention to what they're like or how they talk. I walked past 4 employees standing at the end of an isle cussing and using the "n" word like a comma and very loosely. The only reason I gave this a 2 star instead of 1 or zero is because the security guard is always very nice and works harder getting carts than anyone there. Amusingly however, one time as I was chatting with a cashier, she and I were lamenting the fact that everything is imported from other countries. I only shopped at this location because prices for groceries were cheaper than Meijer or Kroger. However, they have 20+ registers & only one open for 20+ items. Their cashiers are the slowest. I'm not shopping here anymore. I will pay more for groceries at Meijer because they have many registers open. read more

Electronic department is not all great, laptops had all the keypads missing from the keyboard and some did not even boot up. 2-3 registers are only open, leaving massive waiting time in the long lines for check-out. The front door greeters make you feel like a criminal. read more

The worst! I barely ever write reviews but this store pissed me off so bad I had to. There were 3 lanes open on a busy afternoon. The side I parked on there was only 1 register open the "speedy" 20 items or less one. Speedy was the last thing it was. Took me 15 minutes to get checked out with 2 people in front of me with literally 3 items between both of them!!! The cashier closed the lane when it got to long without a mangers approval. Walked to back of the line pointed to someone and said very rudely "your the last customer I'm closing" when it was my turn finally she didn't say hello. She didn't say a word to me. I asked for 2 separate transactions. She didn't answer me. She didn't tell me the total didn't asked if I found everything ok. I even told her have a good day and she continued to ignore me. Waited 29 minutes in line for "customer service". Sad. I don't shop here, but I had to get a gift card that was given to me to work, because, of course, the gift card did not work. While I noticeably watched the only two employees actually working behind the desk, as slow as they could, the other employees that were supposed to be helping behind the desk at customer service, really looked good at pretending to be busy so they wouldn't have to help customers in line. If I noticed this, why doesn't management? Sad. A vicious circle; the employees don't like to work, so employees don't care. Management tries to enforce better work ethic, employees don't care. Everytime I go in there, "the help" is acting rude and lazy. The last time I went there to buy grocerys, the check out girl would not allow me to check out my grocerys. I had 30 items, instead of 20 in my cart. Nevermind the fact that that it was early Sunday morning, there was no one else in line, and the next check out was 10 registers down. The b*tch was not having it. So I had to push my cart down to the next register. I had to complain the previous time I went there because a member of "the help" would not allow me to use the self-service check out because it has an unposted rule of not allowing more than 20 items as well. I complained to management about it, but I feel it fell on deaf ears. However, there was something of what others might consider a comedy relief. An older male member of "the help" was sitting by the front door making wolf noises. Not sure if that noise that was to add effects to the cable radio or he was imitating a love making session with the neighbor's dog. Cancelling my Walmart credit card and never shopping here again. Beyond the fact the store is a mess, out of stocks everywhere, looks like rummage sale (and this was long before covid) just terrible every time I've been in here. LAST STRAW: I purchased two tableware sets here, brought them home and unpacked them and found one coffee cup at the bottom broken. No big deal, a bit inconvenient but this kind of thing is normal. So I take the box, receipt and broken mug back to the store to just ask for another mug and they tell me I have to go back home, pack up the entire dish set, bring it back, then they would give me entire new set when all I needed was one mug. The absolute incompetency and ignorance of the staff of the store is beyond my ability to put into words at this point. It's clear Walmart has risen to the point in size where they just don't care or hire anyone that does. Beyond stupid. No one in the auto department to wait on me, then no one to ring me up. Told me to take the battery up front. I told them no way the cashier would be able to handle the core, so he took it and told me to 'tell them I have it'. At least they believed me, but the cashier couldn't figure out how to remove the core, so we went to customer service to a girl who had no clue, of course, she sent a third girl to get the manger, whose name is Latisha, Shawanda or something like that, they suddenly couldn't remember her name when I asked afterwards. Anyhow 'Latisha' came and started repeatedly asking for a receipt. I told her I was BUYING a battery.. no receipt, get it girl ? Nope asked me over and over while I was trying to explain. I'm talking loudly through my mask because I'm starting to think she has a hearing problem. Then she tells me I'm yelling at her and walks off. These people are clueless. I had this stores deli make 2 6 foot subs for my daughters graduation party and have to say they were outstanding. We also had a lot of other food set out but these were the big hit of the night. I highly recommend this store for the quality and having everything ready on time. read more

My husband bought a vacuum at this location on March 2nd 2018 because the one closer to home in Troy does not have the typical vacuum he wanted. On Sunday March 4th, we started clean our new home to welcome our little daughter home. He opened the vaccum box and immediately noticed that the vacuum is an used one and not only that it was not the kind that we paid for. My husband immediately brought the vacuum with the receipt back to the location to exchange. He informed the supportted manager there what we had experienced with and asked to exchange to a brand new same kind vaccum. The supported manager, Brian, did not even apologize for what happened but also did not let us exchange the vaccum and also treated my husband like criminal. My husband called me and told me how embarrassed the supported manager made him felt. Later that night, I came there with him and talked to another supported manager, Tasha, that we do not want to bring the dirty, filty, used vaccum home or in our car because we have a little child and we don't know what they used that vaccum for and where they used it at. I told the manager that I wanted to leave the vacuum there until they have their decision. She was so mean and impolite with an bad attitude forced us to bring that vaccum out of the store if we wanted something to return when they have their decision. We got disappointed and did not know what to do so we even had to call the authorities to get involved but the police officers could not solve the problem because it is just an civil action. I had called the corporate and headquarter of Wal-Mart and the supervisor told me that we have to go with whatever the decision of the location Walmart manager have and if they do not allow us to exchange or return their then try to go to different Walmart location to do it. I asked him why he told me to do such thing and why I have to return the vaccum at a different location. He could not give me the answer. I called back to Walmart and was able to talk to Elona. She claimed to be another manager there. I told her the issue again about what we have encountered with. She said that they do not sell used products there. I told her that we came there to buy new products, paid for new products and expected the new products to be in side the box not an used wrong one. Finally, she asked me for the informations such as time my husband bought the vaccum and transaction numbers.... and promise to call me by 6:00 pm the next day which is March 6th 2018 and she never did. I called the store again after 6:00 and was told that she was in a meeting. I was told by Candice, the customer service agent, that Elona will return my call back. I waited until 7:30, there was still no phone call. One of my clients heard my problem, she even felt upset for me and picked up her phone and called the location. However, the phone kept ringing and there was no one pick up the phone. Still now I did not hear anything from anyone there. On the return policy, it stated that we can exchange or return the vacuum with the receipt within 30 days. It was only 2 days after we bought the vaccum and we have the receipt. Walmart has violated the return policy law. Anyone had the same issue please speak up because I am planning to file a civil lawsuit. it is so unethical the way walmart treated its customers. Walmart tried to scam its own customers. We also wanted to alert everyone to be careful buying anything from Walmart. We don't want anyone to have to go through the same horrible experience like us paying for brand new product but being forced to take home an used, filthy, dirty wrong ones. I hate Walmart, you have DRAG me in there... and even then I still freak out. The screaming/crying kids that the parents ignore while they explore the roll-back prices, unattended teenagers with little/nothing to do with themselves but run around the aisles, and don't get me started on the people-watching aspect of it all... but on occasion my step-son gets gift certificates to Walmart from his school so I go to get my free 25 bucks worth. Twice now (seriously, I do not go here often or by choice) after waiting in the insanely long line (this is at 11pm) the cashier walks away as soon as I reach the front. Wobbles off somewhere... and then slowly returns. I think they must pee between every customer or something since it takes that long to ring one person up based on the line progress timing. The last time, however, took the cake. The woman walks away and comes back... then walks away in the middle of the transaction... why? what crisis could be calling her away from her job? Why, she ordered some chicken delivery of course. Yes, her chicken was calling her name and apparently she must have forgotten to tell them "aisle 4" when ordering and us customers were fucking up her right to get her meal. Another co-worker came over to tell her the delivery guy was there and how much it was so the cashier stops, pulls money out of her pocket and gives her the cash... making sure to let the woman know "And I don't tip!" as well. (Real classy). As the cashier was fumbling through her crunched up ones. The co-worker (I don't blame her) finally just told her to go pay for her stuff and she'd ring me up. It was like SNL skit or something... this is "ok"? Seriously, I know it's Walmart. I get it. It's the cesspool of America. I don't even expect service with a smile or eye contact. I don't expect a more than a moo and a grunt from these employees (though, I admit there was a stocker in the grocery area moving pallets that was super nice and was ACTUALLY WORKING... hopefully he finds a better job soon as he actually could work somewhere that values friendly workers). I agree with most that this store is just horrible. I actually try to stay away from this store so every couple of years I give it a try only to be disappointed again. First asking for help on an item was almost impossible and the young lady clearly didn't understand English very well. Even when I tried to tell her item is "in stock" she insisted "no item". Then no price , then very easy, then go to Warren store. What? What is wrong with you? The store seems to be mostly made up of Arabic's whom have taken over much of Sterling Heights. No offense but they could care less to help and just like others have said.......messy messy messy. A total sh** hole of a store so please don't waste your time there. After recently receivng an oil change from the Walmart located at 33201 Van Dyke, Sterling Heights, 48312, there was an oil leak that was not discovered for about 2 weeks (until someone commented on the oil stains in the driveway) which caused fear that it might have caused damage to my car. I contacted Walmart via their online website. I was then contacted by the Walmart Store on Van Dyke and Vern, ZMS, told me Walmart was willing to evaluate the car. I decided to take my car to the dealer early in the morning because I had work and because it was hard for me to trust the Walmart Auto Center in evaulating my car, when they could not even do a proper oil change. The dealer ran a diagonsis and performed a proper oil change for a total price of $77.91 (including tax). Before taking my car to the dealer I went and bought 5 QST of oil to make sure my car would make it to the dealer, I put in 4 QST in the car. The diagonsis confirmed the oil leak from both the oil filter and drain bolt. The cost of the diagnosis apart from the oil change was in the neighborhood of $40.00. I have the receipt from the dealer. When I went to Walmart asking for a refund for the Walmart oil change, they gave it to me. BUT, they refused to reimburse me for the diagnois of the car. Vern, Walmart ZMS, told me he cannot reimburse the money I had to spend on the diagonsis, because I choose to do the diagnostic on my own and I should of spoke to him or another manager before doing so.  I feel that was wrong because if Walmart could not preform a simple oil change why would I trust them to diagnosis my vehicle? read more

So been sitting on the phone for over an hour trying to figure out if my online order is in yet . I called first the lady says lets me transfer you to electronics , then that lady transfers me to customer service then that lady transfers me back to electronics . Note to self don't order stuff online here it's a pain in the butt ... Now I'm still on hold some how I got transferred to the dressing room, thank god for Rose there or I wouldn't be getting any help. The bathroom is viciously dirty, employees ignore you, I bought a video game here once and there was no game in it. I was sold the display case and when I had returned they said they can't give me another one and it was too bad. Ever since then, covert security follows me around every time I go there. I called the wal mart help line and they gave me the real game the same day. Yet security still follows me. Do yourselves a favor, don't go to this location.
