Things have change in this store. Most of the personal are nice but there was one this morning. I was returning some items. I asked where to go or see if they need to check the bag. Well a lady name Lorie toll me to go down to the other end of the store and call me a maiden. I don't look like one, I don't act like one, and I don't sound like one. Surprise! Its a clean walmart that isnt a trashheap! I didnt even see anyone missing from peopleofwalmart.com, yeah I was disappointed... seriously I was hoping for some old dude with implants or some super bbw with a thong... ohhhh well I am soooo disappointed. Well my friends and I dropped in here to get some tailgating supplies for a USC at ASU game and we were able to stock up on a few items. Namely, water, ice tea, coolers, fruit, ice, chips, snacks, etc... Pro Tip: This was not as bad a walmart as I am used to. They had the mandatory big m supper club inside which my friends had breakfast at, thank heavens that they had a market area so I could get something a weee bit more healthy and tasty than that breakfast mcmuffin crap. The produce and fruits looked pretty nice overall as did the whole market area, granted it was almost all prepackaged grub, but still that is a pretty big step up comparatively speaking to most walmarts. Heavens to mergatroid, they even had friendly service that wasnt jaded to the point of utter nonchalance and avoidance of all customers questions and used enough logic to not make stupid inane remarks! Talk about a giant surprise. Overall I actually would go back again, but i wouldnt be all that happy about it. I've been here probably 100 times since I moved to Surprise. Can't believe I have not written a review for it. This Walmart is solid! I will list the reasons why, below.......... 1. Super close to the house. Walking distance if need be! 4 minute car ride. Like right down the street...I can almost see it from my house. 2. Prices. Whether you like Walmart or not, you can't argue about their low prices. For a family on a single income, this is more important than all the other "reasons" why people don't shop at Walmart. 3. This particular Walmart is the first one I have ever been in that is not sketchy. There are 2 other Walmarts in Surprise (Grand/Bell and El Mirage), that are semi sketch and have a certain type of clientele that shop there. I'm sure you have heard of or seen the "People of Walmart" website. I am happy to say that I have never seen anyone at this Walmart that would "qualify" to be on that website. This one is new, clean, and attracts normal folks unlike some/a lot of other Walmarts I have been in ;-). 4. Friendly staff! There are a few folks in particular that work here that provide excellent service. They remember your face and are genuinely pretty friendly. I have yet to have a bad encounter with a Walmart associate (At this store, at least.). 5. McDonalds inside. I'm not the biggest fan of the Golden Arches, but every now and then, its convenient to grab a soft serve cone or an order of fries for my son to munch on while we are shopping. 6. Propane Exchange. They have a register in the garden center located near the propane tanks. They have the cheapest refill prices I have found, and the process only takes about 5 minutes to pay for and exchange your old tank for a new one. The only semi complaint I have ever had here is the occasional wait to check out. Most days are fine, but some days it seems like they are short staffed on cashiers and it takes a little while to check out. All things considered though, this Walmart is by far the best one I have ever stepped foot into, and I will continue to come back. read more

I took my daughter here on Christmas Eve and bought quite a few gift cards to give to customers around the store for surprise gifts. People were really happy to receive them. Which warmed mine and my daughters hearts . I went to buy more and they wouldn't let me. I have an ID and a debit card in my name and have to put a pin in to use MY card. They turned me away like I'm a criminal. It was quite disheartening to me and my daughter. I guess its criminal to want to spread some Christmas joy. read more

So glad to have a Wal-Mart on our side of Surprise. Very clean, well organized. Decent selection. Produce is my LEAST favorite part of the store. Produce has limited selection, needs improvement on quality. Have actually found fruit with mold on it.... Deli is pretty good, decent selection.....bakery is pretty good. Has Average McDonald's inside (we don't care much for McDonald's, but this one is ok, usually busy). Biggest complaint (beside produce) is not Wal-Mart's fault, dang shopping carts everywhere in parking lot.....customers got something new and not taking care of it.....**deep sigh** Come on people, neighborhood pride! I am not big on these big box stores! Nothing personal, I understand if you don't like them then don't buy anything from them. Yes, stores like Walmart have lower prices. Tell you the truth. If I shop at Walmart or Target, it has nothing to do with the price. Anyway lets get this review going. I just purchased two car booster seats for our foster kids. I was having a hard time to deciding with purchasing a Graco or Evenflo? I was really impressed how everything is labeled, and easy to find. It also made it easier for me that they had samples on display, it allowed me to see which padding was softer. Basically it all came down to Evenflo, they are made in the USA. Walmart will always be customer oriented, that's their job. But I also believe these stores need to take care of their employees. I have no problem if they need to raise prices if it benefits them! Over all I had a good visit, got what I needed. read more

I prefer to shop at this Walmart instead of the location on Bell Rd. The store is cleaner and the shelves are better stocked. Only negative complaint is the shopping carts feel dirty and grimy. I use the wipes when available and that helps. read more

Wow I'm so impressed by the Walmart in surprise. Right off of the freeway makes it super convenient. Lots of parking at this location and by far the biggest Walmart I've been too!! Store was generally clean. It was later in the evening so we had to weave around all the pallets of stocking items, but no biggie. We easily found what we were looking for. There were several open checkout lanes with no waiting which was really nice and a little out of the ordinary for a Wal-Mart. My biggest complaint about this location is the parking lot. I'm not a Walmart hater and do shop at about 3-4 different Walmarts around me throughout each month. This one is just a couple years old and is very nice and clean. Not really crowded either. My gripe about this location is they frequently don't have what I'm looking for and regularly find at other stores. It's stocked horribly in my opinion. Last night I wanted to buy the game Mad Gab for some friends. They didn't have it and their game selection was less than half of what other store have. They had very few games. I also needed a wedding card and could not find wedding cards anywhere on the 3-4 aisles of cards. ?? I'm sure I overlooked them but I searched high and low. Try getting someone to help you there too, they never make eye contact with you hoping you won't ask them something. Overall it's a nice store with a lot of pluses but needs better management to ensure the basics are covered well in what we're used to seeing at Walmart. read more

There are parking lights and they're out, not working it's so dark by both entrances. It's safety issue for drivers not being able to see pedestrians going in and out of the store. Every time I go there I have to give right of the way to huge carts and wallmart employees purchasing for carry outs. It really makes me mad. This review is more of the Walmart protection plan than the store itself. In April of you his year we bought a Coleman above ground pool along with the extended warranty for about $50. The pool was Not the best investment, but that's another review. Here in August it sprung a leak on the side by one of the cool viewing windows. Due to the location it could not be patched or repaired easily. I remembered the warranty, so I started the process. That's when I found out that the warranty company was Asurion. The online process was fairly easy because I had already registered my warranty when I bought it. One problem was that I was not allowed to complete it online I had to be redirected to a chat session. After answering more questions the representative said that I would be getting a call from another representative who would help me out. I did receive that call in a fairly timely manner. I went through the specifics again and the representative asked if I had pictures. I told her that I actually had a video of the leak. She said that would work and that I would be getting a follow up email or call with what to do next and that the video will help. I was contacted by email and told that they need pictures and once the pictures were received that they would review the claim. There was no link or mention of where to send the pictures (video) to, so I replied asking for a link or where to submit them. I was shocked at the reply that was telling me there is no link and went over instructions on how to attach pictures to an email. Still never provided an email to send them to. I assumed that a reply with the video attached would work, so attached it to the general email communication. Good news, I assumed right. I received a follow up call and email stating that my video was reviewed and my claim was approved. The email stated that they would have my return information within 10-15 business days to receive my "resolution". I refreshed my email and had an eGiftcard for the full purchase price plus sales tax! I was pleasantly shocked that I got my money back that quickly. I bought a pork shoulder last night to cook it today. This morning at 5 am I got the pork from my refrigerator and when I cut the plastic, the meat was Rotten......... I went back to the store to return the pork, but the customer service doesn't open until 7 am. Ok, I was going to buy another one and then return the rotten one later. I went to the eat section and got another pork shoulder BUT I asked the meat guy to opened to verify that it was good. Well, it was ROTTEN as well. Heads up, do not buy meat at this Walmart. Best wal mart I've ever been to. Only complaint it that they start stocking waaaaay to early. During busy times are not good times to be running pallets and leaving them everywhere, it's a 24 hour Walmart you'd think they would do most of the stocking in the later hours. read more

The saving grace here is that this Walmart has an outstanding produce section and the employees that work in produce rock. Every time I enter this store there are employees smoking right out front and this is AWFUL! And trying to check out here is terrible as the self check outs are hardly ever open and everyone is price matching so it takes buying one or two items take forever. Here's two ideas for management the first a line that doesn't do price matching and second have your employees smoke anywhere but where your customers have to walk! read more

I've moved here 9 months ago and have noticed Exceptional customer service in two areas, Pharmacy where the app allows speedy processing of Rx's and counter agents are friendly and thorough; the other is lawn and garden where a very nice young man handles loading and swapping out of LPgas tanks. Sooooo I thought I'd try the "nicer" Walmart from what I've been hearing and this location had the scrubs I needed for work. the aisles are small and narrow. Carts are scattered everywhere by employees doing go backs. But seriously, do you need four barely filled carts in ONE section for go backs. Might i add they were lollygagging around. Other customers are rude as hell and have no respect for you or your space. Drove an extra 5-6 miles to come here; ugh big mistake. read more

Nice Location off the 303 love that I can just jump off the freeway and pick up a few things that I need on the way home. For some reason I have noticed the cashiers seem happy here. Maybe its management maybe its location. I have never been here on the weekend so I do not know how packed it gets here. Wal-Mart is Wal-Mart. though. So sweet & we chatted about how we have mutual friends! Also, another time I came in, I was helped by an Ashley, dark hair, very pretty, piercing eyes! Love this Walmart!! Last week, on a Monday evening, I stopped specially to pick up a couple of things and couldn't find ANYTHING I needed -- from gallon water to the specific corn chips that are ALWAYS there -- shelves were empty of many items. I recently just moved to Surprise and by far this Walmart is the best one, I have ever been too hands down! The Walmart is very easy to navigate through! They actually had more than two cashier stations open! :) So unbelievable! This Walmart is by far the cleanest and have friendly employees. They are very organized, compared to other Walmarts. Also, the Walmart is less crowded! Which is a big plus for myself and others who like to shop here. You can actually find "Princess Parking"; parking that's close to the front! I would recommend this Walmart to anyone who wants a great shopping experience that's fast and easy! read more

I braved the aisles of Walmart on a Holiday Weekend and survived. Overall the store was well prepared for the holiday rush with all registers open so checkout was fast. I use the 'Savings Catcher' app so I have say this Walmart always pulls ad match items from the shelves so they don't have to honor competitor prices. Very frustrating!!! They recently discontinued matching store brand pricing, and will match prepackaged lunch meat but not prepackaged bacon other meats. And I recently discovered they won't match Bashas pricing through the Savings Catcher App at this store even though the Bashas is closer to this store than Safeway or Albertsons.
