I went in with my boyfriend on his 18th birthday to buy scratch tickets and two very rude Karen's working the cashiers started yelling at us saying we weren't 18. We explained to them that he had turned 18 and they continued to yell at us and tell us that he wasn't 18. They were very rude and loud. Empty shelves and not enough staff, cashiers, etc. I was told by one staff member the management won't let them order items or hire additional staff. I doubt I'll be shopping here much. Seriously, I thought they were closing the store the shelves were nearly cleared out. Normal items like laundry soap, pet food, creamers, bread items, you name it, shelves looked like they hadn't ordered in months, or there had been a hurricane and hoarders had a coupon or two for the basics. They need to bump up the staff and get busy bringing in the normal items for grocery stores, or people will go elsewhere to shop. In fact, with 3 other stores right next door, I guess I'll do that even at higher prices. At least there will be something to buy. read more

It's Wal-Mart. What more is there to say? Hardly any checkstands open, no matter when you shop. Employees always look mad that you're there, so don't bother asking for help. The quality isn't great so you truly do get what you pay for which isn't much. Their house brands are cheaply made and low quality, regardless of what dept you're shopping in. I try to avoid this store as much as possible, except on the rare occasions when I don't want to deal with Costco shoppers or Fred Meyer's horrid parking lot. Then I stand in line for a half hour waiting for the ONE cashier, and regret my decision. read more

I went there tonight and thought I'd share my experience with there "customer service manager " Picked up a toy it said it was $24 then it rang up at 36, so the manager came up to do the price check, she clearly didn't show any customer service. The toys were labeled wrong and apparently so was other things close to it. Some were saying the toys were 24 and now on sale at 36, so they were higher now than they were before. Anyways it's only a 10 difference but I feel like if it is advertised at a price than you should get it at that price. Also I feel like you should have good customer service with a manager. I guess some suggestions for a manager would be to have tattoos covered to look more professional, maybe smile, maybe pretend to like your job, and maybe honor the customer since your employees mace am error. So this one star review is not about anything at Wal-Mart other than their inability to keep lines short and the SLOWEST cashier ever named Russell. It literally took over 30 minutes to go through like 4 people. I mean he sauntered around and moved like molasses. I mean come on! You're a fucking cashier! You are supposed to have one speed, which is FAST! All the lines around us were getting people through. He talked quietly, looked crazy and seemed oblivious to the fact that his ENTIRE line was getting pissed off at him. My wife actually called the store and complained. I'm a sucker for low prices. Call me cheap, but this Wal-Mart has an OK selection on most things. I feel like this store is huge, but I still can't find what I need. Since the store is new, everything looks clean and organized. I find that if you want the basic stuff like toilet paper, medicine, and candy come here. But if you want produce, electronics, and a huge selection of stuff, go somewhere else. read more

The things I like about this store are the selection and the prices. The thing I don't like is the poor attitude that most of the employees exhibit on a daily basis. I see it from management on down. They rarely smile or you hear "thank you". It's odd considering they all have jobs. And if you bypass the bag check upon exiting, you can be sure to hear a snarky "thank you sir" upon exiting. Late night trips here are probably not a good idea with this store. Seemed to be out of a lot of common items...like meat! Yeah, I was a fan until the meat episode. There were many other items out of stock and the store wasn't crowded at all. I expected to see the staff stocking the store, but it was really pretty empty. This is a very small Walmart and has a limited selection on everything from groceries to automotive items. There have been times I have had to drive all the way to the Lacey Walmart or to another store entirely to find what I need. A lot of the groceries are actually priced higher than some of the other local grocery stores. read more

I've lived in Tumwater for just over two months. EVERY SINGLE TIME I go there they are out of just about half of what I need. Not only are they always out of products but the employees are too incompetent to label and price items correctly. BY FAR the WORST Walmart i have yet to shop at. My husband and I came in tonight to return two items that we bought a few days ago that didn't work out how we hoped. I was in a rush and didn't bother looking for my receipt because I figured I could at least get store credit and that would be fine. At the customer service desk we were informed that without a receipt they can not verify that we didn't steal the items so they wouldn't return it. I said, "I can't even get store credit?" The woman working was very rude and said "no it is against store policy no return, no exchange and no refund". I asked how that was possible when directly behind her was a sign that contradicted that's statement and she told me she would get her manager. Her manager then told me the same thing and added that while the sign states Walmart's corporate policy, the store manager changed their policy to what she had previously told me and said she would compromise with me and return one item and I could keep the other. I decided to go search my car for my receipt and thankfully found it. If the manager wants to change store policy, maybe they should not hang the sign that's states you are committed to customers satisfaction and will do a return or exchange hassle free with or without a receipt. Terrible experience, terrible policy. The story bathroom was filthy and staff was completely rude. read more

It only took just a few days to receive what I had ordered online (items that weren't carried at the store). I'm VERY happy with this service, and no shipping on top of that. This Walmart lacks customer service and I think that manager and assistant manager that were working today power trip and lacked customer service. I will no longer shop this Walmart. Approximately six months ago I joined in on the promotion that Walmart in Tumwater, WA was running for $35 credit if I spent I believe 150.00. I have done that , but they keep giving me excuse after excuse as to why they can't issue me a credit. Now I realize that it is only 35.00 and I could just let it go but it is the principle of the thing. The last person I talked to last night hung up on me. I don't think there was any intention of actually giving me a credit on my account to begin with. I think it is a scam! Either that or they are giving my credit to someone else. Prior to arriving I received an email that my order was ready to be picked up at Walmart Tumwater WA location. Went to the photo center/site pick up and their employee name Jenna picked up her cellphone and walked from behind the counter passed us talking on the phone. (Lady in return service saw it all happened) called the manager. It was 734pm when I arrived. She came up to tell us it will be a few mins longer.. The girl was coming back. (Whole time she standing still talking on her phone by the bathrooms in front) Finally after waiting 7 mins asked her manger (younger blonde) if that was a proper way for their employees to take a break she said no and walked off. At 744pm another manager (dark long semi curly hair) came up this time along with the same girl that walked away from us saying she knows this much better than I do. Both at this point covering their name tags. Finally they came out with my order which was missing a chair (I ordered 2) than saying only one came in. I said that's impossible I ordered both at the same time. Jenna replied I'm not sure than I don't know much. (Hmm I thought u did that's why the second manager had you come do this transaction with her?) So by now they have 3 other people looking for this other chair. Finally at 802pm one of the (guy) employee found it. The third manager name started with a C (Cheryl) I believe it was.. Was much more helpful than the other two rude asses. As Jenna was finishing up on cashing us out she asked her manager does anyone else know how to do this? Im off at 8 just saying. (So what was she doing taking a break at 734? I won't be doing the site to store pickup anymore. I was the only person in line and no one was there to assist me. I pushed the button for assistance and stood there FOREVER before someone came. I was so close to leaving but decided to wait it out even though my evening was wasted standing there and I still had to go home and cook dinner. I was not happy. Very disappointed in my shopping experience today. At least 10 of my items were placed a few spots over from where the correct price was. This store needs to take time to stock the shelves properly. I had to spend way too much time checking sku numbers. I WILL NOT return to this store. read more

You would think you could trust such a bad Walmart to go have fun in but I guess not. A few of my friends and I went into this Walmart and on the way in my friend had a limp so she got a motorized scooter and the receipt checker person didn't think anything of it but then we had just made it past the clearance section and then this random guy who wasn't in work clothes or anything looked straight at my friend and says (read this in a mean uptight stupid guy voice), "Do you need to be riding that ?" then my friend replied (Girl fed up with Walmart and its employees voice) "Well yeah" After she replied this Walmart employee looks at her and says, " No! go put it at the front of the store" Then my friends and I being as petty as ever put the motorized scooter at the front of the store, not where it goes but in the seasonal section. I really hope this stupid Walmart employee that wears gray shirts not his blue Walmart vest can learn how to not be such a buzz kill.
