If you want to not haggle on price don't mark up the financing on the back end to make it up! Then make the customer catch you and get you back down over 2.5%! Huge mark up for you! My experience....Not good because I am 80 years old and I expected that my 2 PM appointment meant that my appointment would be at 2 PM. I was greeted by a preliminary employee who asked what my issue was. My answer: Dome light needs a bulb. Radio cuts out now and again. CD played....now and again. The employee was clear.,.. and not rude... "You will have to wait for an hour or so. Your issue has to be analysed before work will begin. And....... There is a $100 fee for that first hour ............"Huh? ...replace the bulb. Check the fuse for the radio," It is not that simple sir................. Long story short We departed, without animosity. (Walser policy is theirs to set. We live in a free country) I will pay my local garage guys a hundred bucks to determine the problem.......and i will offer 100 bucks up front. They will respond..."Hundred bucks? Up Front? I got my first car here and still have it. Purchased the best warranty, but every time I go in I receive poor service. They have you wait in the waiting room for hours until they finally give you an update and don't offer courtesy cars if it takes more than a day to get the car fixed, leaving you without a car for the remainder of the week. The people there are unhelpful -- no one greets you when you come in or even a "we'll be right with you", when there are multiple people around, leaving you standing there wondering when you'll be tended to. I've worked with this service advisor, Jacob Sperry for years and he evidently does not care for his job or the people he works for. He is cordial at first but the more you prompt for clarity the more condescending he gets, and it's a struggle to communicate with someone like that. When referred to the manager, while he was friendly and polite, the manager seemed to not mind his employee's attitude -- it was overall a terrible experience and we won't be returning to this location again. read more

Within weeks it was overheating, and despite multiple failed "repairs" the dealership refused to fix it or honor their promised exchange. I have been coming to polar Chev for a long time and never had a problem until this time. I brought my car in for an oil change, I knew I needed at least two tires because the front two had bulges in them and possibly a new battery. When I dropped off the car I trusted they would be honest with me. I stated I wasn't trying to spend a fortune I just wanted to get through the next winter with my car being 23 years old. I was first told I needed all four tires changed which turned out to not entirely be true. I also asked them to test the battery and tell me if it needed to be replaced. It was just replaced and I was never called. I'm not a mechanic that's why I bring my car in to get fixed. I expect I generally tell you what I need done. You then look at it and tell me what else you recommend and we have a discussion not just things are done without full consent and marked that I refused items I didn't refuse. I then went to go pick up my car same day and it killed right away. The RPMs wouldn't go past 2.5 even when flooring the gas. They literally broke my car and then tried to say it was "shitty timing" I refused to fall for that and made them fix it. It took another week. My car is running but I had to test all my tire pressures because I told the guy one looked low and he said "feels full" when it clearly was low. When checked it was only 20 PSI (on brand new tires) then two days later my break light goes on and my break fluid is down past the minimum level. These are both things I took care of after I spent over $1200 there. Don't let them scam you. They don't know what they are doing or they are just sloppy I'm not really sure which. read more

I have been a repeat customer of Polar Chevrolet but they will no longer get my business or the business of family and friends. If I could give them a zero rating, I would. I have never had such poor, disrespectful, and dishonest service in my life. Their service department is non-responsive and unable to repair my vehicle. They refuse to provide a complimentary loaner vehicle, leaving me without transportation for a week and counting. They price gouge by charging outrageous prices for parts, knowing they are holding me hostage by claiming the parts are necessary to continue diagnosing the issue. They told me my vehicle was repaired and ready for pickup only to have it die 3 times within a mile of their dealership. After 4 days they finally admitted they have no idea what's wrong and they are sending codes to GM. I have no confidence in their ability to repair my car and they have me on the hook for more than $800 in parts. My calls go to voicemail but no one returns my calls. BEWARE read more

Box 337 Stillwater, MN 55082 12/16/2022 I had the vehicle serviced @ Walser Polar Chevrolet White Bear Lake, MN just like I have since I purchased it new. Oil & Transmission fluid changed, new tires, wheel alignment, rear brake pads and rotors, $2,045.00. No mention of a class action lawsuit for Frozen PCV valve, causing the rear main seal to blowout. GM has known about this problem for years and has done nothing to rectify it. I brought my vehicle into Walser Polar Chevrolet for service as always trusting I would leave having a safe ride in the deadly winter weather conditions, that was not the case. They knew there was an Issue with this Make & Model, I should have been notified regarding the freezing of the PCV valve and rear engine seal blowing out. Someone is going to DIE because of this, they will break down in subzero temperatures and freeze to death. 12/24/2022 at 6:45 am on Christmas eve. I had no warning whatsoever there was a problem until the Equinox started to sputter, the engine light came on and a few minutes later the engine shut down. The PCV valve froze causing the rear main seal to blowout, the engine was completely destroyed. $9,700 estimated repair bill. Thank God, I made it to White Bear Ave and a police officer showed up, it was 11 degrees below zero out. AAA had a 299-minute estimated wait. I know of 3 other people this has happened to the last Month and there were 3 others vehicles that weekend on there lot with the same issue, I was told this by management. I sold it to Walser Polar Chevrolet White Bear Lake, MN 12/30/2022 for $4,000.00 that's all they were willing to offer. After paying $2,045 on 12/16/2022 I ended up with $1,965.00. This car was in great running condition when I brought it in for service, no leaks or indication of a problem other than the maintenance suggested. KBB Trade in for this vehicle is $9,000.00 to $10,000.00, fair market value $12,5000 to$15,000.00, their selling used up to $19,000. 1/23/2023, come to find out my old 2017 Equinox is selling at Walser Polar Chevrolet for $14,998. No disclosure on the CARFAX report that the engine was destroyed due to the PCV valve freezing and the rear main engine seal blowing out causing the engine to be destroyed. All other detailed history including damage report when hit is listed. This dealership is as corrupt as the day is long. read more

Last Saturday we had an experience at another dealership, (review on my profile) was disappointing to say the least. We had a 45 minute drive home and I called Polar Chevy to see if they had a truck in stock that met our needs. Sale Manager Zach Hanson answered my call and had a couple or trucks ready when we got there. He was able to get a better grasp of our needs and continued the search on his computer. He was able to find a wonderful truck, the color and wheel size were the only 2 things that he couldn't match. He said they would swap the tires with our current truck and the color.. we love it. The truck and price make up for it! The truck was in transit and we had to wait until Tuesday to see it. They had one repair to make, but we saw the truck, took it for a test drive and it was smooth. We bought it on the spot, they kept both trucks and managed to squeeze that tire exchange into their already swamped repair shop. They gave us a car to use to get back and forth to work (We can't say enough about the service) Financing was easy. We had planned on purchasing the extended warranty, and the salesman that Zach handed us off to was Kyle, and equally awesome and accommodating. They both listened to our objections, wants and really did listen to our concerns. We brought it home last night. They met the timelines (under promise over deliver). We appreciate they they have gone above and beyond any dealership we have dealt with. They are a busy place and we know why. They sure do try to accommodate and make the experience memorable. I passed...then while waiting Chevy recommend 45k under extreme conditions for the transmission flush and 97k on 4 wheel drive service...Flat out deception by service adviser. Monday afternoon we came to an agreement to purchase a Chevy 2022 2500. My sales / finance person was not working Tuesday, which was OK since I needed to get financing from my bank, which I told my sales guy. We set a time for 1pm Wednesday to finalize the deal. I wouldn't waste my time with this car dealer! I found a vehicle through Auto Trader that I was interested in and immediately contacted the dealer listed. I heard back Monday morning that it wasn't actually on the lot yet but would be soon, it was a recent trade in. I get that so I patiently waited, contacting the dealer each day to see if it arrived, not yet, but was assured my name was "in the file" so when it arrived I would know right away. Well after no contact for a few days I reached out again and was told it was sold! They didn't even give me a chance! Charged me 90 bucks to drive my truck around the block and not hear anything. When I got in my truck I hear the noise again and went back in to grab a mechanic. He finally heard the noise after a while being out there and when we got back in they said it wasn't warrantied because of my leveling kit which is BS because I called to make sure it wouldn't mess up my warranty before I put it in. So I spent 90 to show a mechanic the noise myself and my truck still makes that noise because they didn't even tell me what's wrong so I can't fix it myself.
