great buying experience last summer.. horrible customer service. I had my first service appointment since buying my new car. Upon entering the front of the store, I was just screamed at by a large dark man wearing sunglasses - screaming at me to move my car. I was only coming in to ASK WHERE to take my car to have it serviced.. again he screamed at me to move it.. I had a sick baby in the car and just had a quick question, (that at this point could have been answered twice), but before even getting to ask, I was screamed at and everyone just looked at him while he did it. I ended up crying and extremely upset all because I had come in quickly to ask where to go. - The man screaming at me was looking to make a sale to the guy in the giant truck behind me, (as were the people around which is why NOBODY helped me-and must've silently agreed with him) but little did he know that the guy in the giant truck behind me was my BOYFRIEND who was there to pick me up from dropping my car off to get serviced. Nice job buddy, you are SO DESPERATE FOR A SALE you neglected to help an ALREADY PAYING CUSTOMER. You people are sick and only care about the big sale then leave your customers to fend for themselves. You should all be so ASHAMED of yourselves for condoning this behavior and doing absolutely NOTHING for me as I leave the building BAWLING!!! [The only kind person in the building was the Teddy who helped me in the service department, and the man that asked me about my pink seat covers..] to the incompetent imbecile who screamed in my face , you should be fired. Bought the car on Labor Day but did not sign the papers until that Thursday. They had two days to get my car ready. There was a scratch that need to be buffed out, car cleaned and filled with fuel. And it was not ready because no one told that we were coming back that Thursday to sign the paperwork. Then we had to wait 30 minutes after the signing to get license plate and moved off the show room floor. The reason for the delay was because they could not find the license plate. We told them that it was sitting on the salesman's desk, right after we had signed the paperwork. It was more important that they play on their phones. Was told by the sales manager they would pay for another free service but when I came for the service, I was told I only have one free. At the service, I was talked down to because I am assuming that I am a women. Told I need to get my oil changed sooner, BUT I had to wait to weeks to get into the appointment. I purchased my 2018 GMC Sierra from WBK GMC Buick. At the time of purchase, I was assured that the transmission had been fixed for a known problem. At 7,000 miles, I complained about it - no action by dealer. At 52,000 miles, I complained again - no action. Finally, at 60,200 miles, they told me that the known problem was never fixed and it's out of warranty. I was a loyal service customer to WBL GMC Buick. The dealership took zero responsibility for their gross negligence, and I had to pay a large repair cost as it was now out of warranty - by 200 miles. Save your money - go someplace else - the service people are not helpful and only want to rack-up repair costs. They do not have your back - stay away. read more

He laughingly made polite talk and we warmed up to him immediately. Before it was all said and done he found the vehicle we wanted,bantered with us, bonded with us and after the deal was done and before delivery he called us and said the car we selected had some dings that couldn't be fixed to his satisfaction, but he could upgrade us to new rather than a program car for no extra cost. No high pressure, great sense of humor and when it was all said and done, we felt like we wanted to invite him for dinner. Best car buying expierence in 60 years! Bought a used 2016 Silverado here. After driving a couple of days I noticed a couple minor things wrong with it that they should have noticed if they would take their time looking at the vehicles they sell. I brought this to the attention of the salesman I was dealing with and he said they can fix this stuff for me. I scheduled an appointment for them to fix it, or I thought. But they looked at my truck and lied to me saying there wasn't anything wrong with it when I was able to go out there with them and show them the issues then they started back tracking and finally admitted there were issues. They had to ask the used car manager to see when they can get it in to fix and now after 2 weeks of trying to contact them daily they still haven't responded. I wouldn't have as big of a problem with it if they just came out right away saying they aren't willing to fix it but they kept saying they would "take care of me" and fix it but turns out it's just another dealership that lies to make you happy. read more

Just wow.....     I was just about to buy a 2019 conversion van from "White Bear Lake Superstore", and specifically "The van man" Bob Stansky.  Now, let me start by saying, Bob, is a helluva guy.,  I enjoyed our conversations, as I am buying this van from across the country in Oregon, it was all over phone to this point.  I wanted a van with certain options, and color combos (blacked out), and the van that was a 4x4, that was in the goldilocks zone on price( more on that in a second), wasn't blacked out.  So, Bob being Bob, piped up and said that he could make it a black out version.  Switch out the rims, moulding, seats, and grill, and make it a blackout package.  He boasts about his team, and that he's got more seats, and it's no biggie!  We'll make it happen!  Then Bob had to leave for the day, so I had yet another day / night to think about it.  About the price. It was on the White Bear Lake website at $67,567ish, while on the conversionvansuperstore website it was listed at $70,000. Then it bumped up to $72,000ish on both sites... I hit him up the next day, and he was busy most of the day., I emailed him multiple times clarifying things, as sometimes that's a good idea to make sure that everyone is on the same page, esp when buying a vehicle from across the country.  He never replied to my emails.,  Then got back to me the next day,... Things had changed in VanLand, and at this time, he began to let me know that it was crazy for him to do all that work to the van at that price, and that he couldn't do the rims, or the trim, or the grill.  Then he began speaking to me like I was a child, (I'm almost 40),,,  I then semi politely put him in his place., and he told me that he'd work on what I wanted.  He then passed me off to another gentlemen, Max.  Max was attentive, and got back to me quickly, which was nice, and I also didn't feel like I had to repeat myself every time we got on the phone., like with Bob.   So, Max takes over, I hit him up, and ask for the things that Bob originally promised me.  He can't offer me them, and then he had to go for the day, "Understaffed, Nobody else can help you",....  But right before he went, he was sure to let me know that the van "Might sell", and if that happens it's not his fault.  When all I wanted at this time, was a FaceTime walk around of the interior of the vehicle.,  the rims switched out to black, and the two trim pieces on the exterior switched to black., as Bob had originally promised.  I asked him if there was even a minion to FaceTime me, (Think carwash dude, or janitor),,, And there wasn't... So, it sat for another day.... Then I get a friendly wake up text at 5:50 AM from Max reiterating that he's my guy now, and Bob has handed me off.  I text him, saying that I'm not that happy with how things have gone, and are going, and he texts me back, telling me he sold the van.    You can't make this stuff up.... read more

Buyers beware!!! Bought a 2014 GMC Acadia with 78k miles. The purchase was made with the expectation the vehicle would have certain repairs done to the vehicle. There was a rattle in the front end. They assumed that the struts would fix the issue. Got the vehicle back and there was a rattle still in the front end. Needless to say it took a few heated conversations to get the issues corrected. They did correct that issue. It would have costed $1600 to have the other repairs done. We also brought up the fact that the vehicle appeared to not be detailed. We found old food wrappers and melted chocolate in the center counsel. Again they said it would be taken care of, again nothing. Still melted chocolate and food wrappers in the car. Not that it ended there. A few weeks after we got the vehicle back, I get a post card in the mail. It explains to me that the rear brakes, power steering hoses and transmission lines all need to be replaced. Talk about a slap in the face. The reason we went to a dealership was to buy a vehicle that was inspected and reconditioned. It appears to have had nothing done. If you buy used vehicles from this place, buy the extended warranty. I am sure they will be very happy, that way the warranty will fix all the issues they did not. 6/27/20: Had the first oil change. $8000 in service needed. Thanks again White Bear GMC. read more

I would give White Bear Lake Superstore zero stars! The sales process is the only thing they do a good job at. The service after the sale is horrible. I bought a GMC Conversion van and during the finance portion, I explained to them that I wanted to pay my taxes and registration at my states DMV because I am a disabled veteran and have tax and registration breaks in my state. They refused and said that isn't possible even though I confirmed that this process is what the DMV suggested I do and was done all the time for the purchase of new vehicles. After explaining this over and over and being told I don't know what I was talking about, I finally relented and signed the agreement (only because they told me that any overages paid would be reimbursed). Then the real headache began! They made me wait over 6 months to get my van registered. I was able to get one 30 day extension from the DMV so that meant my $80K van sat in my driveway for over 4 months without me being able drive it. Apparently they miscalculated my taxes so when they submitted them there wasn't enough so it got rejected. Was I notified? Nope. It took me calling over and over for someone to look into it and finally let me know about this. They gave me the amount I was short and I went in to the DMV and had them calculate what my taxes should have been....and guess what, they wanted me to pay $550 more than the DMV gave me (when I got my registration with the amounts that were collected from the dealership, they were $550 more than the dealership collected from me). Then, back to the registration/tags, because I am a disabled veteran, my tags are free (which I told them over and over and they said it will be reimbursed). When I finally got my tags mailed to me, I was told to take the tags in and have them swapped for DV tags. The agent told me they do not reimburse. They never have and every dealership would know that. That cost me over $2,000 dollars. That is $2500 that they took from me that I shouldn't have paid. That doesn't even include the defects to the van that I was told would get invoiced to get fixed that they never acknowledged or did anything about. (The explorer conversion craftsmanship was sloppy and careless). Worst experience I have ever had with a customer based business. STAY AWAY FROM THIS DEALERSHIP Especially if you are a veteran. They don't know what they are doing. Overall this company does not care about you or care to do the right thing. Unfortunately a TERRIBLE experience. read more

Bought a used vehicle from these guys and thought all was good. Vehicle had a bad belt squeek and was told it would be fixed by the time I came back to pick up the truck the next day. When I came back I was given the keys and I drove off and the truck was still squeaking. I was also told they would fix a light cover on the door which was never done. I was also told they do some big inspection which should have caught the problems. The squeek ended up being a bad serpentine belt. So much for their great inspection.. Then I was basically called a liar by the owner when I went back and told him I was told this would all be fixed! My advice is get things in writing, sales people will say anything to get a sale here apparently, at least my salesman did. The owner made me feel like a jerk, I was just trying to buy a nice vehicle and get fixed what I was told would get fixed. read more

I needed to find a "new" used pick up truck, and I found a truck I liked on Car Gurus, at WBLS. So, I went down to look at this pick up. There was still 2 inches of dirt in bed of truck. Center console lid was broke off with metal hinge hanging out. If you had to stop fast, anybody in back seat could have gotten hurt. I test drove it, It had a loud sound but sometimes when you drive 4 wheel drive trucks, the tires seem to make it loud too. The salesman, Eddie, said it was gone through and everything was good. He promised to replace the center console lid. I just got that today! Mind you I got my truck in February 2020. Was also promised before I left he would put some gas in the truck. No gas was put in. Had to stop and fill myself. At the gas station, I could not even fill it as there was no gas cap!!!! I am not used to buying used but since my truck had gotten totaled, I kind of needed one. I was still waiting for the insurance company to pick up my truck and pay me off for the totaled truck (this happened in Feb 2020). I asked finance, Molly, to hold the check until I could get that done. She agreed. I left 2 messages for her not to cash it yet as did not get my check. I was told she had a shared voice mail! Really, a company that big has to share voice mail? So, guess what, she deposited the check. Nice. I wrote the check out for $7000. Guess how that went over with the bank? It did cover most everything. I made another trip down there in March 2020 to have them check this truck out as they said it was good. It was leaking something. After service center looked at truck, said I needed power steering pump, cooler, and hoses. Great. Will work on that, $537. I did get a new gas cap after talking to Morrie in Used Car Sales. Was told about problem with power steering and sent on my way. On my way out the door, still no center console cover, so went back and asked where that was. I was finally told it had not come in yet. Understandable if ordered from GM. I could wait. I have never been to a place where they only want you to buy it now and be gone. I would never buy from there again. They lack communication between departments so be careful when they promise you something as you likely are not going to get it. I sent 1 of the owners and the used car sales manager an email and they have never responded back. Obviously, they don't care how it went. Find a different place to buy even if it sounds good. Our van is crap. We have contacted the dealership multiple times just to get directed to someone else. Our van was delivered with damage. The led lights are falling down. Drivers side panel moves in and out. Rips in the leather. No towing package that we paid for. They didn't add the graphics. Buttons came off. Alignment is off. Back doors do not align up. Trim is all messed up. Don't know the wifi code to use. read more

My husband and I found a truck that we wanted to purchase. We live 2 hours away so I was happy they offered to let us make a reservation on the truck. I was happy that they were very quick to help us and had the truck ready for us to go on a test drive. Everything went really smoothly. The only reason I am disappointed is because White Bear Lake Superstore pulled my credit without me knowing it. My husband and I had our financing set up through our local credit union where he was going to be the only one on the loan because I didn't want my credit pulled. The only reason I found out that my credit was pulled is because I have Credit Karma and got an alert. I tried calling the manager this morning and have yet to hear from them- guess we will not be going back when I am ready for an upgrade myself. read more

Purchasing a vehicle at the White Bear Lake GMC Superstore was the WORST experience I have ever had. We spent over 17K on a GMC conversion van. The van is beautiful. The STAFF IS TERRIBLE HERE!!! From the very beginning of the purchase they were completely unorganized and Rude! We scheduled an appointment to sign the paperwork, as we live an hour away, and they were running 45 min late. When it came time to fill out our paperwork with John, he came out all red faced and threw the paperwork on the table saying he had no idea what was going on. He got very heated when he realized the dealership had filled out the paperwork incorrectly and he was very hassled to have to fill out the short form and re-print the info. From there, Bob Stansky, who sold us the van, assured us the paperwork for our new license plates would be filled out and sent to us immediately. We didn't receive our title or the new plates in the mail... and with the temporary 21 day paper permit expiring we called him on that Friday evening. He couldn't even remember who we were and said to call back on Saturday so he could get organized. We explained the paper permit was already expired and then had to follow up with him 3 times between Friday to Monday that week. He argued if we would have called earlier in the day (the 3rd time we called) that he would have been able to have done something. He expected us to make sure that he was doing his job. Still with no answers we asked to speak with Dianne, the woman handling the paperwork to issue the new plates. She said they never received the signed papers for the vehicle from us, and blamed the situation on us, saying we never sent them. We filled out the paperwork AGAIN. However we still never received the plates. We haven't been able to drive the vehicle for over a week now... and are leaving town on business today for a month. We followed up to see where the plates were, as Dianne assured us that the plates were fedexed to us 2 days ago and on our car yesterday. When Dianne answered the phone, she gave no greeting. She picked up the phone and said "I sent them yesterday". When we replied explaining that we needed a tracking number, she said (and I quote) "Jesus Christ! You have to be kidding me?! I have to go upstairs and get a tracking number? Do you really need it?" We explained that her word was not good enough, as we were supposed to have received the plates weeks ago... and even the date she said that they were sent out was not true. She put us on hold. When she came back to the phone she didn't give a greeting only stated the tracking number outloud and hung up without even saying goodbye. We still do not have the plates to our car or the title. Not only has the experience been extremely frustrating... but it has been made worse by the complete rudeness of the staff at the White Bear Lake GMC Superstore. They did nothing but talk down to us, when the issue was on their error. We spent over 17 thousand dollars on a purchase at their store, and were never given courtesy in the least. I gave this place a 2 Stora, only because the service center has been great. Sales side is not to be trusted, they outright lie to you. Went to look for new truck 10/14, sales showed me a demo that had 2K miles on it. He told me it was loaded, and even though he didn't have the invoice, he could look it up and it listed for $51k. I bought it and it was to late to show all the features. Went home and tried to operate all the features salesman said it had. It had none. Brought back next day and they refused to refund large down payment. Only thing they would do is put me into a new truck with all the features. Even though I like the truck, and in the end they gave me an OK deal, I was sick to my stomach to be forced to buy a new truck from them. My husband and I tried to purchase a used car from this location. He test drove it first, and then was allowed to bring it home for me to look over (I was not able to able to make it to the lot due to traveling, etc). I gave it the thumbs up. When my husband returned and said he wanted to buy the car for the asking price, he was told that it had been sold TWO days prior. In fact, the couple who originally bought it was waiting for the car and completly confused as well. The dealer then tried to sell us another car with twice the miles, completly a mess inside, and a broken emergency break for $2000 more than the original vehicle we wanted. We were firm on our budget, at which point the salesmen asked why we were concerned about the price. "Did we think we wouldn't qualify for the loan?" When my husband said no to the car again, the salesmen told him "He was the problem in the situation" because he wasn't willing to jump on a good deal. I won't be returning to this dealership or recommending it to my friends based on the way we were treated. read more

I came in for an oil change and the service was great up until the end of my appointment. At the time of my apointment we had sub zero weather and the service manager Jerry took my truck out and washed it. In the result of him washing my truck all of my doors and locks froze. I don't know why someone would wash a vechicle at tempture that it is at freezing levels. In my opinion this was not a VERY responsible thing to do. I just purchased my second Outlander from White Bear Mitsubishi and was again massively impressed with the entire White Bear Mitsubishi team. Not only did I get an outstanding deal, I had amazing service. I got a few things added to my car so had to take it back in a couple of weeks after purchasing it. When I went in to get it done, I ended up receiving a call which required me to get back to the office. Patrick in service arranged to have me dropped off and then dropped my car off! He first made sure his team didn't make a mistake on the amount of time they told me was needed for completing the job. THEY ABSOLUTELY DIDN'T, I just had to get back to the office. I couldn't believe he would even think to ask so he could take accountability if that were the case. Does that even happen any more? The level of service from greeter, sales, to service was absolutely TOP NOTCH! I love my Outlander! read more

We were approcahed by a person on their sales team. He seemed friendly enough at first. But after Itold him Iw as looking for a truck with certain miles and price, he took me over to a much older higher mileage truck that was not what I was looking for. While on our way to the truck, my wife and I saw a different truck that looked more like what we were looking for. He indicated that after we went and saw this other truck, if we didnt like it, we could come back and see that one. So we saw the truck. Mediocre truck with scratches and tears in the leather, still asking almost 18K with 100K miles. When I politely said I was looking for something a little newer with less miles, he yelled at me, saying that what I was looking for was impossible and stormed off, jumped in his SUV and stomped on the gas to return to the other side of the lot. Naturally, we did not go look at the other truck and we will never do business with any of these people. I hope that someone releves the public of a "salesman" like this. Also, dont forget to read the Better Business bureau reviews in detail before buying here. They may have an A+ rating but the 7 reviews (although a low number overall) are very telling of the curtomer service and issues you might have with this dealer. read more

The salesman Steve was very good and not pushy. However the sales manager and or who ever that makes the offers on trade in and or approves the amount give for them is un-ethical and his original offer was very insulting. Then they came back with another not much better and provided print outs of other car that were for sale that were supposedly compared to me my car. This may work for someone who has not done their research and or does not know what their car is worth. But the print outs that were provide only has some of the options that my car had again this was a insult as if I was a un-educated and if they could blow smoke and I could be bluffed by paperwork as if they did their research. It was comparing apples and oranges. I did not appreciate that and it was very un-professional. There were also names spelled wrong on some of the paperwork and it was never fixed even after we mentioned it. It seemed like were just another number and being pushed through the process to make another sale. Once again Steve was very good; its the other individuals that seem to careless about us and we were just a number. If it was not for Steve they would get a negative 2 stars from me!!!! read more

in 2008 i purchased a 2008 lacrosse from the so called superstore.the purchasing of the car was a good experience but after that it has been all downhill. we purchased the auto butler package and what a complete disapointment. you waste atleast 6 hours of your day, but the worst is to come. your service rep may call and tell you it is ready, but whatever what you do, do not go to the serve window before she calls your name. you may be the only one there but she will let you know that she did not call your name, she will make you sit untill you are the last one standing. i have used the auto butler 3 times for something that i paid good money for. it was so bad i just can't get myself to go back. the managers excuse was that the lady had had a bad day. i asked if i could get a refund on the service and was turned down flat or have it transfered to another store. no such luck. i guess once they have your money they really do not care if you come back. if you by a service contract from them be prepared to be very disappointed by the clerk. read more
