I ate my across Nantucket, one lobster roll at a time. This one was my favorite! Forget "best of" lists. So many of those are paid anymore... I tried the "top ranked" ones and they fell short to good ol' Walter's roll. Doughy bread, mayo tang, juicy briny lobster. You won't get a white tablecloth, or any table cloth for that matter. But it is truly legit. I even had one for breakfast.

Superb! Stopped by for lunch right after I landed in Nantucket. Got the Reuben and cold lobster roll. As far as the value goes, I think you get your money's worth by coming here. The efficiency in service, taste and the cost all make this place stand out amongst other businesses on the island. There isn't anywhere to sit and eat inside as it is a takeout only.

Our first stop in Nantucket was Walter's Deli, and we're so glad we came! We ordered the Reuben and a cold lobster roll. They take your order efficiently, and the sandwiches are made quickly. Plus, they pack plenty of napkins, which is always a bonus. The Reuben sandwich was, without a doubt, the best I've ever tried. The flavor was perfect - not too bland and not too salty. The worker was incredibly friendly, making the experience even better. I would love to come back and try their other sandwiches!

Worth every penny!!!!!!! Wow. I will be craving this forever. A Lobster Roll to Remember Every once in a while, you find a spot that captures the pure essence of what Nantucket dining should be simple, fresh, and absolutely unforgettable. Walter's is that spot. I stopped in for their lobster roll, and easily one of the best I've ever had. The roll was packed with thick, juicy pieces of lobster perfectly fresh, tender, and lightly dressed to let the seafood shine. Every bite felt indulgent but balanced, with just the right touch of butter and seasoning. You can tell the quality here is next-level; it tastes like it came straight off the boat that morning. The presentation is unfussy in the best way just a clean, well-made roll that lets the flavor speak for itself. It's the kind of meal that instantly transports you into vacation mode, even if you're just stopping in for a quick bite between beach walks. Walter's itself fits seamlessly into the island's relaxed charm, with friendly walk in service and that quintessential Nantucket vibe. Perfect for a midday lunch or a pre-ferry treat before heading off-island. Bottom line: If you're in Nantucket and looking for the lobster roll that sets the bar, Walter's is it. No gimmicks, just fresh, local perfection.

The space is a simple service counter setup with takeout only, but don't let that fool you, the food speaks for itself. We had a small mix-up with our order regarding the quantity and temperature, but the staff was helpful in clearing it up. Once we got back to our hotel and dug into the lobster roll, all was forgiven. It was hands-down the best lobster roll we've had on our New England trip, perfectly buttery, fresh, and really packed with lots of lobster.

We ate lobster rolls from 3 different restaurants in Nantucket and Walter's was our favorite. 1) it had by far the most lobster meat. 2) the lobster salad was simple, great flavor, and the fresh lobster meat had good texture 3) perfectly toasted and crispy bun with a buttery flavor, the bun was sturdy, not soggy, and a great vessel for the lobster meat Really, executing a good lobster roll isn't hard, Walters nailed it. Get a lemonade while you're at it!

The staff is friendly and service is extremely quick! Food was delicious and portions were generous. An essential stop for any hungry lunch goer!

Best lobster roll in Nantucket. They have hot and cold lobster rolls and both are outstanding, just depends on your preference. Also, very generous portions of lobster for the price. Highly recommend

I waited in line around 10 minutes to place my order on a Tuesday at 11:30. My order was ready in 5 minutes. I ordered the chicken pesto panini and expected green pesto, but it only had a tomato sauce on it. Plus the chicken breast was breaded. It was served hot with melted cheese. It was made with quality ingredients and tasted delicious. This is counter service and no where to sit.

Outstanding! I went here for lunch seeking out a lobster roll, although honestly the entire menu looked amazing. The deli is really just a counter, so you order and give the server your name and they call you when it's done. There's no seating but there are plenty of benches around The lobster roll is mayo-based lobster salad on a buttered, toasted roll. I'm not the biggest mayo fan but this was excellent - not too mayo-y but very well seasoned, and the cool lobster with the warm bun is *chef's kiss.* It's also very reasonably priced for the quality and amount of lobster they give you!

The best lobster roll with buttered potato bread!

I've been along the New England states on my quest for the perfect lobster roll. Most rolls have an abundance portion of lobster with either cold (mayo) or hot (butter) on a typical hot dog bun. Walter's in Nantucket was a special find for the three of us. We typically share what we like and do not like about our meals. All three of us agreed that Walter's lobster roll was (hands down) our favorite. It was distinctive from other rolls as it was prepared with a bit of a citrus forward zest and - served on romaine on soft, buttered potato bread. We loved it so much we ordered two more for our trip back on the ferry. Light, savory, with a balance of citron and softness. We enjoyed this game in Nantucket! Thank you for a memorable experience! We shall return....

I got the eggplant parm sub and it was average. The bread was not very good. Tasted like my school library's eggplant parm sub. It wasn't cheap either. There's so many restaurants on that street so I'd just choose another if youre vegetarian.

So to be able to have something different was a great change of pace from just your typical sandwich. I believe my Wife got the smoked turkey sandwich, added cheese and red onion. It was good but nothing to write home about. The star of the show though was the egg salad. Best egg salad my Wife and I have ever had. If you stop in at Something Natural you have to get the egg salad. They also have an assortment of local drinks and juices to get with your food. We got a strawberry lemonade which paired well with the sandwiches and the weather. They have plenty of outdoor seating. The walk to this place was beautiful. I therefore opted for egg salad on herb bread with lettuce and tomato. We opted to eat our sandwiches there. When I opened the sandwich it was a crumbly mess that fell apart when I tried to pick it up. Both sides of the bread were soggy so it seemed as if the sandwich was made on a wet cutting board, I went back to show the young lady that the sandwich was inedible and she let me order something else and explained that the herb bread tends to be very delicate. I ordered salami and provolone on sourdough with no vegetables as I figured that was hard to screw up. After ordering she went to charge me for the new sandwich even though I didn't and could not eat any of the old sandwich. I had to ask to talk to a manager to explain what happened. He was not apologetic at all even though I showed him the sloppy, wet, falling apart sandwich. He did however make me a new one in the end without charging me. It is a beautiful setting I just think that they need to work on their sandwich making skills and their customer service.

As our beautiful (and possibly Persian-American) server explained, this tea is a symbol of welcome in Persian culture. You hold a bit of rock sugar in your mouth as you drink your tea, allowing the sugar to dissolve slowly, and follow it all up with a bite of sweet date. It's a beautiful act of cultural sharing and hospitality that nourishes one on so many different levels. Food at Lemon Press is meant to be shared. There is a section of dishes "for the table" that comfortably feed two. And there are small plates and sides that are meant to accompany. We chose two small plates and two large plates, which was plenty of food for our group of four. The ROASTED CHARRED CAULIFLOWER ($23; almonds, brown butter, golden raisin, caramelized cauliflower foam, crispy kale) small plate was nothing short of phenomenal. There were wonderful textural contrasts: crisp kale; firm, but yielding slivers of almonds; tiny, tender cauliflower florets. There was fragrant brown butter and delicately sweet, caramelized cauliflower foam. We have had some very, very good cauliflower preparations in our lives, including Balaboosta's fried cauliflower with currants and pine nuts, Miznon's whole roasted cauliflower with sel gris (even better with tahini sauce), and creamy roasted cauliflower soup (my favorite recipe to make at home). But Lemon Press's roasted charred version was, we all agreed, probably the best preparation of cauliflower we can remember having, something that would not be at all out of place at Eleven Madison Park. Our other small plate, a northern Iranian dish called MIRZA GHASSEMI ($19; smoked eggplant, tomato, garlic, turmeric, egg, barbari bread), was also well made, a well executed traditional preparation. It was creamy, rich, nourishing, with all the hallmarks of a perfect comfort food. The Progeny thought it was too strongly flavored to eat by itself, but it paired perfectly with golden-crusted, sesame-flecked barbari bread. We found our small plates to be stronger than our larger, shared plates. They were sadly out of the duck fesenjoon on our visit. (I'd been looking forward to trying this dish since our visit earlier in the summer.) In its place, we ordered the SHORT RIBS & CHIPS ($54; house salad, za'atar fries). Flavors were vibrant, the meat glazed with something sweet and salty -- but the flanken-cut short ribs were largely fat and gristle. The salad was wonderfully fresh, the fries crisp. The KHORESHT GHORMEH SABZI ($54; lamb shoulder, burnt herbs, red kidney beans, dried lime, tahdig) was a traditional northern style, made with slow-cooked tender lamb; spinach and not just herbs, I think; and the unmistakable sour/bitter/umami flavor of limu omani (dried lime). There was a pretty circle of tahdig (sort of the equivalent of socarrat) and saffron rice to accompany. The Fambly noted the strong resemblance to north Indian saag gosht -- no surprise given the strong historical influence of Persian culture in north India, both through Persianized Mughal invaders and Nader Shah's later invasion. The amchoor (green mango powder) used in saag gosht even somewhat recalls limu omani. We declined dessert, since we had to get back to the pup -- but the check came with four lovely macaroons, served on coffee beans, another gracious touch. We have become so very enamoured with Lemon Press over their years. Cousins and co-owners Darya Afshari Gault and Rachel Afshari have brought in the talented South African chef Lyall Frosler, who beautifully executes Persian, Persian-influenced, and non-Persian dishes. They've honed a deep sense of hospitality, rooted in a very ancient, very beautiful culture. We feel so lucky and grateful to have this food on Nantucket!

Breakfast (filling and tasty), açaí bowl with berries and honey (yum), midnight cold pressed juice, lemon ginger shot, iced matcha latte (too sweet), iced saffron cardamom (too sweet), iced latte (perfect). We were happy to end our trip here. The inside is summery with low and high tables near the bar. I had to ask for my drink twice because it appears they forgot it.
