Good People!! My truck broke down in the parking lot of Stewart's meats with 300 dollars worth of meat I just purchased on a hot day! I phoned Walt's and THE OWNER himself came out to my location to check on the truck , to advise me and then loaded up my potting soil from Gordon's my 300 dollars in meat and drove me home so the truck could get towed to the shop. That IS the kind of stuff that makes a life long customer. I have lived in Roy for only a year so I am not too informed about where to get work done and had The mechanics at Walt's put a new carbonator and fuse box in the truck awhile back. I'd never been here before but was planning to set up an oil change (so not a loyal customer-yet). Called in on a Saturday as I was driving home and my battery gauge started dropping precipitously. I knew they do basic repairs, so instead of driving home and having my truck stuck there, I phoned at about an hour before close. The gal that answered the phone told me there were no mechanics on staff that day but they could check my battery and alternator, then give me a jump if need be. It was the alternator and I left my truck there over the weekend, they squeezed me in on Monday and my truck was ready to go at 10am! All the staff members were friendly, professional, and accommodating. I left a nice tip for "the guys" because the repair was surprisingly affordable. Do not trust this place i had them install my wheels and tires on my truck and they vouldnt even fo the simplest task of tightening all the lug nuts tight and was just on the road traving states with my family and tire came off snapped every lug nut and left us stranded in middle of nowhere all because they couldnt simply make sure they were tight i dont suggest this place to anyone they will for sure do you wrong. read more

I was charged 720.00 dollars for parts i didnt get and labor to put them on. I had to take my car back into them and get what i paid for. New bearings and cv axle. And apparently they still didn't get it right cause my tire almost fell off the axle. They are incompetent under new management. read more

New owners! Just want to bring awareness that Walt's Point S is not what it used to be. Brought my car in for new tires that I bought through them. PSI was all different ranging from 24-53psi... already knowing something was off. Driving into town morning after doing 60mph it's shaking, psi still off, doesn't feel right we all know our vehicles. I bring it in a second time letting them know the shaking problem and some air needs to be let out. An hour later I'm sent on my way with the owners truck because they did wrong and wanted to cover themselves. My tires were put on backwards, and clearly PSI not being checked before sending me out. After admitting to me a new "technician" put my tires on and no one checked them they tried telling me it wasn't a safety issue... just want this small town to be aware the quality is not what it used to be. Why are they hiring people to put tires on with no experience, not being sure of their work, let alone taking the blame for a crappy job. Tried to cover themselves with a free oil change as if I'll ever be back. read more

I don't know where to begin in regard to Walt's. When you buy tires at Walt's, then you will receive free services for the life of the tires. We have had tire checks, rotations, and inspections performed with never so much as a question. Last month one of the employees even took the time to drive our car around town for a bit to determine whether or not the tires were gripping the road well. The owner of Walt's has helped us with tire emergencies, too. We once needed tires on the fly for what was not a great deal of money, and he managed to scrape up an excellent set of used tires that had miles and miles left on them. We were able to have these rotated for free as well. And when our car has needed automotive repairs it has been the owner of Walt's who has directed us to the right places. This particular mechanics he has recommended have performed work on our car for less than the more popular places in our area, and the work has lasted. In fact, the owner had information about just about every automotive business in the area, and he has not been wrong yet. We trust his judgment, and we have been treated well by the staff every time that we've needed help. There may be large chains in our area and larger and more popular garages, but we try to use Walt's for every service that can be performed there. The work is insured, and I don't have to worry about being taken advantage of. read more

This is one of the few places I would give 5 stars without hesitation. In an effort to fully disclose my entire experience, I will say that upon our first visit we had concerns. My daughter had some work done on her car, one wheel had not been properly installed, it was nearly disastrous Of course we were upset, this needed to be addressed. After speaking with Walt himself, it was clear that this was an oversight and he was clearly prepared to fix the situation. That was three years ago. Since that time we have always called Walts and been supremely satisfied with their level of quality and customer service. There are a couple other places in Yelm, I don't have any issues with those guys, I just really like supporting the local businesses. read more

I loved this place. I chose it based on the great reviews on yelp and I wasnt disappointed. Everything was great. The people were friendly and very transparent as far as prices and actual service. I had my back two tires replaced. The wait time was very short and they have a super comfortable waiting area and both times I went they had the TV on HGTV which is freaking love!! These guys were Awesome! I pulled into Walt's 30 minutes before closing on a Friday evening with a flat tire in my trunk. They checked the flat tire (it had a hole in the sidewall) and when it couldn't be repaired set me up with a used tire for less than $50 including tax. The replacement tire was mounted and I was on my way less than 20 minutes after arriving. They were friendly, professional and amazingly helpful. This business just lost my business. I found several quotes online for a tire they carry. The best they were willing to do was quote me the price in the computer that was about 15 dollars more per tire than the best prices I found elswhere for the identical item. They refused to even consider matching the price. I walked out and won't be back. I ended up buying a full set of tires at a business in Lacey that WAS willing to earn my business by being competitive on price. I don't want to do business with someone who won't do what it takes to keep by patronage. read more

I do love Walt's Tire! They are so kind! Today I went in think a mount/balance was $10 a tire (I know, its the ADD), but it was $17.50 (best deal in town), and when I heard the price in almost had a heart attack it was almost twice what I budgeted for! Having expensive cars like Mercedes, Maserati, Escalades..etc i really need people can trust even more so as to treat me right and not charge me for things I don't need.
