This was the second time we had this company at our house. We needed some tree roots removed. There was a few disappointments I had with this business that they definitely need to improve if they want to survive. 1.) This is a big city. If they want to work they need to be more willing to serve the entire city with no complaints. If they are so worried about gas prices they need to get a Hybrid. 2.) I waited a week in a half for them to show up to get the job done. The kept scheduling and canceling so many times. Then when they did show up they were an hour late. Again having a service business like a tree company they need to be willing to learn ear h side of town inside and out. No excuses about getting loss. So here is my recommendation unless you live in Vegas I don't recommend them. read more

Most unprofessional company we've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. The work itself looks great despite being completed a week late. However the owners are RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. Lance and his wife Amy are absolutely out of line in the way they speak to their customers and handle themselves. Beware of their shady tactics!!! There are many other tree companies out there to use, you should really look elsewhere. EDIT: in response and to what owner responded to this review, since they told us they didn't care about what happened at our property (owner was not on site for job completion) The work was originally scheduled to be completed a week earlier but due to equipment issues work was delayed, which we were more than understanding and accommodating about. Before we left for work 3/19 we asked the crew lead if we needed to give him payment before we leave bc we knew they would be done before we got home from work, their crew told us NO so we did not leave payment with them. Lance did email an invoice but if you don't accept credit card how are we expected to pay right then and there? We did not get home until well past 7pm on 3/19 at which point we felt it was too late to call as it is past office hours. Before 7am the very next morning 3/20 we received calls accusing us of trying to withhold payment and threatened with legal action. Payment was issued and hand-delivered within 24 hours of completion of work. Owners were very quick to accuse us of trying to skip out on the bill. It was never discussed upfront that credit card is not accepted, which isn't a problem but it would've solved that miscommunication right upfront had it been mentioned. We did NOT say we aren't liable for payment! We DID say there was no contract signed so legally there was no binding contract for a lawyer to even be threatened against us. We never had the intention of not paying, which is what this company seems to be implying. We have no issues or complaints about the work performed, our problem is the way the owners conduct business. Lack of communication on their end is the main cause of all of the problems. Had the crew lead said we needed to pay that day, we would've left a check with him before leaving for work. But instead of understanding there may have been a miscommunication with their own staff, Lance and Amy directed their issues at us with accusations of withholding pay. We hand delivered a check and tried to explain why payment wasn't issued on-site and Amy said she did not care and didn't want to hear it, then proceeded to raise her voice and call us names. It is bad business to treat people poorly. Period. Lance visited our home well in advance of the work being completed and had not once indicated payment needed to be made immediately, and that legal action would be threatened within 12 hours of work completion. Yes, you are the bad guy when you're the business owner and treating people poorly. We will take our business elsewhere in the future and would recommend others do the same. read more

Walt's Tree Service came out to tame our unruly, large, old pine tree. They did a wonderful job in a professional manner. The tree was thinned out nicely. They cleaned up the branches and needles from our yard and those that spilled into the neighbor's yard. We would use them again and recommend them to others. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company. They are one of those companies you will call again and again for service until they retire, and then hope that a younger family member takes over the business so you can continue to use them. I just hired them for about fourth time in about the last six years. Past work has included tree trimming and tree removal, including a very large pine tree. Most recently Lance came out to advise me on whether a couple large African Sumacs needed trimming (they did). He also informed me that our sad looking Japanese Blueberry had borer beetles, and that was why it looked so sickly. He gave us some great advice on possible replacements, and is going to plant a Chaste tree (one my wife had already identified as a favorite) to replace the Japanese Blueberry. He is very knowledgeable about trees, and knows which trees do well in this climate, and which locations work best for a given tree. My wife, who often has her nose buried in books about fruit trees, remarked how nice it was to talk to someone who was so well-informed about trees and local growing conditions. I also asked about removing some palms and Lance went around showing me which palms in the yard were different from the ones that were originally planted, the result of a bird dropping a seed and the gardeners allowing it to grow. I was quoted a very reasonable price for removing the unwanted palms. When the work is performed, there is a manager on-site at the beginning, to make sure the work is properly identified, and at the end to make sure everything is completed to your satisfaction. We've been very satisfied with the work and the cost, which is why this is the fourth or fifth time we've hired Walt's Tree Service. read more
