Singapore-Style Rice Noodles - I liked the flavor, but it wasn't a "wow" for me. I think I might've preferred rice as the carb side instead. Red Oil Dumplings - Very flavorful--strong meat flavor with a strangely nutty-tasting sauce, even though it doesn't actually have nuts. Very rich, and the remaining sauce paired exceptionally well with rice. Honey Walnut Jumbo Shrimp - Crispy, exactly how I like it, without being buffet-style sweet. I couldn't eat too much of this just to avoid walnut contamination, but what I had was delicious. Golden Salted Yolk Japanese Tofu - Really, REALLY loved this tofu dish. The flavor was so deep and rich that I could instantly tell it had salted egg yolk. This was truly my favorite dish out of everything we ordered. Crispy Spicy Chicken - Mmmm, a well-deserved dish and great use of Sichuan spices. It wasn't too spicy despite being advertised as such, but the seasoning itself was excellent. This competed with the Salt & Pepper Squid for my second favorite dish of the meal. Salt & Pepper Squid - Super crunchy. I love salt-and-pepper dishes in general, and this one did not fail to amaze me. Definitely one of my favorites here and competing with the Crispy Spicy Chicken for second place. Stir-Fried String Beans - Crunchy and not soggy, with those same Sichuan spices. Probably the only vegetable dish we had today, thanks to my BF ordering it--hahaha. Lemon Pepper Wings - Crispy, but I didn't really like the sauce. It was a little more buttery than I would've liked. BBQ Chashu Bao - Sooo soft, but a bit dry. Definitely needed some water with this one. I can tell they're fresh--probably not frozen. Haha. Pork Xiao Long Bao - Oooh, very umami in flavor! Strong pork taste with steady levels of fat dispersed throughout the bao. We let them get a bit warm, but they were still delicious--one of my favorite soup baos thus far. Rose Soy Sauce Chicken - A bit fattier than I expected, and I didn't taste the rose that strongly. Not my favorite, as I felt like I had more skin and bones than meat. Whole Peking Duck - Great presentation and flavors. I'm usually not a fan of Peking duck, and this one still didn't really change my mind, but all my cousins had a lot of fun with it. My BF thought the Peking duck was great, so this is definitely more of a personal preference thing. Lava Bun - This is different from Supreme Dumpling's, which is more of a custard; this one has a gooey salted egg yolk filling. It was a little grainy, so it wasn't my favorite. I definitely prefer the custard version. Overall, I understood the appeal of this place after my brother recommended it. They really loaded the table with food, and even with nine people, we still left with plenty of leftovers. The quality of each dish was well above standard, especially considering how much we ordered. The only dish that fell below my expectations was the Lava Bun--I simply didn't care for the filling. The service was smooth and professional throughout the meal. My main complaint was the timing of the Peking Duck and Rose Soy Sauce Chicken. I wish they had been served first since they were the heaviest dishes and the main attractions. By the time they arrived, everyone was already too full to really enjoy them, which I think took away from the experience.
