My boyfriend and I went into WP in Silver Lake to get him a pair of glasses. We went in with his prescription and insurance info - Brennan helped us to make sure his insurance was covered etc. but more importantly he really helped my boyfriend pick a good pair of glasses. He went above and beyond suggesting different styles until my boyfriend was really excited about a pair. I had an appointment, showed up 10 mins early. They had me sit and wait, then let a walk-in see the doctor before me. I had to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor. The doctor rushed me and kept trying to upsell me. When I got my glasses, they are too blurry to see through. Waste of time and money. I've owned the same pair of eyeglasses with the same prescription for about 15 years, but all good things must come to an end, right!? I'd heard about this company before and their philanthropic deed of donating a pair of glasses for every pair that is sold; plus, two friends have dealt with them and praised how they did business, so that all sounded wonderful to me. Were all the positive vibes accurate for my first new pair of eyeglasses in years!? PURCHASE Hardy Medium Jet Black Frame w/Single Vision High-Index Lens ($125.00): The replacement eyeglass pair I chose was nearly identical to the one that was broken and a very typical style for my culture and nationality. As I jokingly thought to myself, "I want my Asianness back!" It was a comfortable light fit, and the polycarbonate lenses weren't as thick as my prescription would dictate. Plus, the lenses also came with a nice anti-glare and scratch-resistant coating. Now, to be completely honest with you, maybe because I was tied to my broken eyeglasses for so long and it was a designer pair with a few noticeable comfort elements that no Warby Parker frames style had (e.g. general weight, nose pads, spring hinges), the frame itself felt cheaply made (they were made in China), at times it would slightly slide down my nose, and having worn them for over two weeks now there was an ever slight expansion around the temple area. I came in here to return a pair of glasses that I didn't like. They had these great blue spots in the frames, but not enough of them on one side and too many on the other side, so back they went. But I ended up at my old spot because they process my insurance for me. The older woman with the black hair at this location is supremely annoying. Every time I go in there I avoid her because she will not leave me in peace to look at glasses. I just attempted to buy two new frames and she wouldn't even attempt to put them through because my prescription is expired. My prescription hasn't changed in over a decade- which she can see. I went in with my prescription, tried on a few pairs, and a nice CS rep helped me. Seemed like a great experience. Then two weeks passed... no glasses in the mail. When I looked, there was no charge on my account and I couldn't find any email receipt. So... basically, it was as if I'd never gone there. The order never got processed or sent - apparently. I tried to call the location to talk to the guy that helped me - but was rerouted to an international customer service line that was garbage. English was terrible and CS phone rep was less than helpful. just wasted my time and no resolution. and I'm unable to get a hold of the people in the store or anyone with reasonably communication skills. Sadly, very bad experience overall. UPDATE: the store did call me and we did find the charge and the glasses were stuck in my jammed mailbox, so I got them. but so far they are larger than I think i ordered and crooked and they hurt my eyes, but they have an easy 30 day money back return policy - so they said they would replace them or upgrade them if I wanted to. read more

Buyer beware. I went in to get my first set of glasses in decades. I was issued a prescription. The frames were more than I wanted to spend but I did it anyway because of pressure from the saleswoman. I got the glasses and they actually made my vision worse. I let the store know and they encouraged me to try them for a few more weeks. I did so and then when I let them know the prescription wasn't working, they said I would have to pay for new lenses because I had waited too long to make a new appointment. They TOLD me to wait and then pulled a switch and thought they could charge me again. I feel violated by the saleswoman and the doctor at this location. Vision is so important and it was hard for me to make this appointment in the first place. Now I feel like a schmuck for trusting these people who are running a scam. I have useless glasses and I can't afford new ones until next year. So disappointing and degrading. Never again. read more

I've been wearing glasses for over 20 years now and I've been wearing Warby Parker glasses on and off for 8 years. They have an excellent selection of frames for a very reasonable price. Don't let the low price fool you though, these frames are as durable as what you would find for 2 or 3x the price. I've also found Warby Parker glasses to be very comfortable. Now to get to their actual stores. I went in here the other day because one of the legs on my glasses had come loose. To be fair I've had them for over two years so it is not surprising. The very friendly optician took my glasses, cleaned them, replaced the screws, replaced the nose pads, and made them feel like a brand new pair. Their customer service is excellent. They have a one year warranty on lenses which comes in handy if you do a lot of biking and rock climbing and end up knocking them off and scratching the hell out of them. read more

My personal attention to detail and my satisfaction were by far the best experience that I have ever had when purchasing eyeglasses and contacts. My optometry appointment with Dr. Chung was the most pleasant, efficient, and easy time I have ever had getting my eyes examined. She answered my questions and educated me without a hint of condescension. I loved her honesty and humor. And Maryanne was one of the best salespersons I have seriously ever met. Waited maybe 10min for them to finish up. Just as the lady at the counter was finishing up with her customer another walked in the door and straight to the counter. While the optometrist was wonderful, The staff in the front were unhelpful and, at a point, insulting. After my optometrist visit three weeks ago I was told the pair of glasses I wear was now retired however if I could find an unused version in usable condition they would be able to fill that with the new prescription. I went in today with an unused pair and they told me that although we all agree the glasses were in usable condition that it would be "impossible" for them to place my updated prescription in them. I asked if I could use my current glasses and they said again it would be impossible for Warby to add lenses; according to them, their lab doesn't have that kind of technology. I immediately called Warby directly and they said they have a pilot program that addresses this exact issue and apologized for the words & actions of the Silverlake store staff. I then called the Glendale store and explained bringing in an unused pair to get fitted with the new prescription and they said there should be zero issue. I'm still trying to wrap my head around why the employees in the Silverlake store said it was impossible but, lesson learned, there are better locations to visit with kinder staff. read more

Furthermore, they give back to those in need of eye wear with their buy a pair, give a pair program. And because of that reason WP has been my brand since 2010. I was elated to hear they expanded to LA metro area. This store in Silverlake opened in 2019 and is spacious and well organized. Glasses are very stylish and robust. I bought two frame glasses, Haskell and Roosevelt. The Roosevelt in black matte is a large square masculine frame with a keyhole bridge while the Haskell is a good-looking round crystal frame with slim temple arms and a keyhole bridge. Staff were very accommodating, amiable and professional. Similarly, they judiciously implement health covid protocol. Prices were affordable. Street metered parking only. Overall, I highly recommend this WP location for all your glasses/prescription eyeglasses need. read more

We came here to fulfill our optometrist prescriptions and get some stylish lenses ;-) My partner had some Warby's in the past and we were due for a new pair so we dropped by on a weekday evening. The shop was expectedly empty and the shop associates were friendly and knowledgeable when prompted and otherwise hands off when we wanted to casually browse; ideal customer service :-). The associates were accessible and I appreciated that we had queer non-binary representation --nice Warby! We ended up getting a nice bargain as they had a promotion wc was a welcome surprise. Parking is rather tricky in this area as it's on a popular street and drivers seem to be very hasty so prep ahead. The associate forgot to include our itemized receipt for insurance (to be fair I was rather chatty and distracted them to check at the end of POS lol) but I was able to call customer service and they emailed right away. I went into Warby Parker to get some new glasses which are terrific, but the story I want to tell you about concerns my old glasses. There is are young man there, David Ramirez, to whom I complained that my old glasses had gotten a bit scrunched after I sat on them. He cheerfully offered to fix them, and to my utte amazement after about 15 minutes of serious work they were as good as new! While I was continuing to search for parking, I notified their customer service number that I will be late because I was not aware that there is a major parking issue. When I finally parked (5 blocks away) I went in the store to find that they would not take me. So I walked another five blocks back to my car. The lady working was very nice. I walked into Warby Parker hoping to get some new contacts. I figured my prescription was probably a few months expired, but I was hoping to at least get a pair. I have finals and will be traveling for the next couple of months, so I wouldn't be able to come in for an eye appointment for at least a few months, and I obviously need to be able to see in the meantime. I thought the employees would understand, or at least offer me some workaround, but when I expressed to them that I wouldn't be able to come in for a few months and asked for at least a single pair of contacts, I was met with a swift no and a super weird comparison that giving me contacts with an expired prescription was like giving me drugs without a doctor's prescription??? Honestly, when the employee said that to me I had to try not to laugh out loud because it felt so extreme. There was no solution. No alternative option. She just kinda stared at me and then I walked away. I then proceeded to reach out to Warby Parker's online customer service team through their virtual chat and lo and behold! They were able to help me in literally 5 minutes lol. The really nice customer service rep I spoke to (Robbi) told me that a.) I could get my contact prescription VIRTUALLY renewed in literally 10 minutes through their app and b.) He'd order me a new pair of contacts in the meantime since he was aware that I had to travel soon. Zero issues. I find it super bizarre that the employee I spoke to at the Silver Lake location wouldn't have offered me the virtual option to renew my contacts (especially since I told her I couldn't come in for months due to my travels) and that she couldn't offer me the same curtesy that Robbi did. Look, I totally get that prescriptions exist for a reason. When they expire, you have to get them renewed. But sometimes life happens and things come up and exceptions can be made. Me and my family have been purchasing glasses at warby for 10 years. I usually get exams at my normal optometrist, but i went in there without realizing that my prescription was expired. They encouraged me to have an exam there. The girl giving me the exam was not thorough and also prescribed the wrong prescription. Waited over a week for my glasses that were incorrect. Went to my optometrist and got the correct prescription and a proper eye exam. When i went back to warby they would not credit me for the eye exam. They told me to call corporate. Which also stated company policy -no refunds. Offered me a free exam next time. I would not trust their in house optometrists after that incompetent exam. I ended canceling my current 2 sets of glasses on the phone and will never give them my business again and will encourage every single person i have recommended them too. So short sighted of them to lose a long term client over $80. My family purchases 8-9 glasses a year. Such a disappointment. read more

I started with a pair of sunglasses, then got my prescription glasses (after multiple failures elsewhere) and then went back to get my sunglasses with my prescription. Currently due to COVID it's appointment only but it was easy to make an appointment and it went super quick.
