This was a disaster. This review is not for the optometrist, who is quite good, but rather for the people who took my order and the mix-up afterward. I selected rimless glasses, and they took my measurements, but a few days later, I received an email saying I could not get them because of my vision challenges. I selected another pair and was texted a note saying my glasses were being made, but they were not. They also told me I would have to pay for them. I wrote back saying I had already paid. They said that I had paid $60. NO, I paid $605. Weeks passed. I kept sending messages telling them I had already paid. 3 weeks later, they told me they had not started making my glasses, baffled, as I had given them my second selection. 3 weeks after ordering, they informed me they would return the money to my account, but they never filled the order. It is now close to a month later, and I still have no glasses, just email upon email from me trying to explain I paid and to make the glasses I selected. They seemed confused and returned my money, admitting they had not even started to make them. They did not offer to expedite the order, they did not offer to compensate me, they just .... left. WORST SERVICE EVER. I took the prescription and selected rimless glasses on Eye Buy Direct and was charged half the price, and the glasses will be here on June 9th. This place created a lot of stress for me, a downright mental breakdown, and I have been without decent eyeglasses for weeks. I hate this place. read more

I like this location because it's inside of a mall, which makes it convenient to try on frames, purchase new frames, or get adjustments to current frames, before or after shopping, returning items or meeting friends for a meal. Stopped by today to order my fifth pair of WP glasses. I've beaten up my original pair from 5-6 years ago, and my 'daily driver' pair is going to garage/shop status. Elijah greeted me right away and helped me get to trying on some frames. He made suggestions but was not pushy. He had the right cadence of letting me hmmm and hummm trying them on, but not agonizing! He offered the next pair when I was ready, helping me select some based on the self imposed criteria I arrived with. I also arrived with my old glasses which he was kind enough to get cleaned up for me (crystal frames show dirt quickly!) Excited for them to arrive. Better to just upload prescription information onto the Warby Parker website and submit orders online. Walked in the store and wasn't helped by a single staff member for 15 mins, i was into buy a pair of new glasses but they lost my business. They all sat on their ass and talked to each other and only helped the older customers as if they were stereotyping us as if we weren't there to purchase. I can see clearly now with glasses on! The crew at the Washington Square Warby Parker is second to none. The store is welcoming, easy to navigate and visually appealing (important when considering optical enhancements). The sales process is professional without pressuring purchase. I ordered a pair of glasses but needed to update my prescription so I got an appointment with my eye doctor and emailed a copy of my updated prescription to the Warby Parker team and they completed my order online. The glasses were supposed to take 2-3 weeks for delivery but arrived in my mailbox after just ten days. I now wear these glasses daily. After a year, I decided I wanted a second pair with new frames and the process was even easier now that I was in the system. When this pair arrived, the lenses felt off but I thought maybe my eyes just needed to adjust to the new lens shape. After awhile, I decided to call in and ask about the prescription. They confirmed the order was correct and recommended I go in to the store for further inspection. Without an appointment, I walked in and received immediate service. A staff member checked the lenses and soon identified that the lenses were reversed (I have slightly different corrections in each eye). He popped the lenses out right there on the spot and corrected the issue. I walked out of the store absolutely blown away by their excellent customer service. Went into Warby Parker on a whim, just looking for a pair of glasses. Trying to find something a little more stylish. I've tried their website and try before you buy. However, their location had more glasses available. I've tried many, optical shops. I just have one of those large heads that require XL frames. I found a great pair of frames within 10 minutes. My wife actually said "Those look good on you." That sealed the deal. Staff was very helpful, informative and fixed my wife's current glasses for free. In the end, she found a pair with some help from staff and they matched her green eyes beautifully. Really a great, fun experience. read more

Three cheers for Curtis Marker, the store director at Warby Parker Washington Square. Recently I was in a pickle as a different optical store ruined my favorite Warby Parker glasses by overheating the frame, causing one lens to have a mottled appearance. Since I could no longer see well through that lens knew I needed new glasses and an updated prescription. WP no longer offers lens replacements but that's ok. The price of a replacement pair makes it a desirable option. Curtis patiently helped me to try on frames in the store I found appealing until we found the one I liked the most. He measured me to ensure that when I received the frames at home they would fit me well. After a thorough eye exam in the store at a very reasonable cost ($100 or so) I had an accurate prescription and happily paid $240 for brand new glasses with high index lenses and scratch resistant coating. They arrived at my home several days later. As promised, they fit me perfectly and I could once again see clearly. Curtis is very professional and enjoyable to work with. I'll be visiting him again next time I'm in need of glasses, no question about it. read more

Had a terrible experience at Warby Parker Nob Hill, posted a review, and realized I hadn't posted about our great experiences at Washington Square WP! My bad. My husband and I went in to buy him two pairs of glasses. By the end of the visit, we'd ordered five pairs between us! What a great team there, from the customer service people to the docs who do the exams. Helpful, efficient, and, mainly, friendly. It was a great experience, both times we've been. And the glasses are great, and reasonably priced. I don't know the names of the people who helped us, but to a person, they were aces. I hope they see this, and consider themselves thanked. I cannot say that for all Portland Warby Parker stores. read more

If you have a higher prescription buyer beware. Their high index lenses are actually still very thick. My glasses looked ridiculous like the bottom of Coke bottles and I had to return them. Cute frames and customer service was great but the company over-promised for my higher prescription for sure. They should have told me to get smaller frames (which they don't sell btw). Thankfully they accept easy returns! 2 stars for that. read more

Warby Parker is a wonderful option for inexpensive yet good quality glasses. Every time we have been in Warby Parker, the staff is attentive and friendly, with quick and efficient service. We went in this past week to look for another pair of glasses for my husband. We were greeted but allowed to browse on our own for about 15 minutes until we had made up our minds. At that point, the sale took about 3 minutes to complete and we were on our way. They have their system dialed in - if you are a glasses wearer, give Warby a try! read more

I scheduled an appointment and spoke to a representative who took my insurance and told me what great coverage I had for the glasses and exam. I drove over and the sales rep said they would t be able to bill my insurance because their optometrist was not in network. So not only was I misinformed and inconvenienced but there was no option in Portland to have eye exams covered with Warby Parker. I guess they need to sort through their retail store information with HQ so people don't waste time and money read more

UPDATE: Sadly after the technician tried several times to get a good fit on adjustment, I asked for a refund! My very first order with Warby Parker....I will be going back to Lens Crafters!! No too happy with this location's customer service, atleast today! Drove 25 miles to get here to purchase sunglasses. They grabbed a pair in stock, purchased them and got home, the pair doesn't fit at all like the sample pair. The salesperson should have checked that out before I left! Now a couple days later I arrive when they open and the guy is unhappy because he is the only one here and no one else is showing up. Needless to say his attitude was diverted to me. I'm now waiting until someone can adjust these frames. Was told it would be 40 min wait before the person arrives while waiting and no one here it's like I'm invisible. Somebody needs training on how to treat a customer! read more

Wow, such nice folks, very professional and helpful. The doctor that did the exam was lovely and efficient. The gentleman that helped me pick out my glasses knew every style by name and WAS NOT PUSHY. He just helped me make a couple of decisions and was always right there when I needed him... AND the lady at the counter fixed my old stretched out glasses so they fit again! My only complaint was that I can't get my hands on my new glasses SOONER! read more

Leo, the optician at Washington Square is awesome. I used to go to the store on NW 23rd. After I received my glasses I could tell something was off with the lenses (same frame style I was wearing before with new prescription). As soon as I described the issue, Leo was able to identify the problem, take measurements, and order me new lenses free of charge. There also isn't usually a wait at this location. read more
