Destiny carefully selected frames based on our individual face shapes and must have pulled 20 or 30 different options for us to try. She had us comfortably seated the entire time and made the experience feel relaxed and enjoyable. Her feedback was thoughtful and spot-on, helping us narrow down choices without ever making us feel rushed or pressured to buy. In experiences with providers over multiple decades and many different states, You and Eye stands Head and Shoulders above almost everyone else! More affordable! When in-between providers, and I was shopping around, You and Eye was significantly better priced than several other Optician offices in the Willamette Valley. Customer care and service that has gone hundreds of miles past any reasonable expectations by a client! Staff: Experiences with every person connected with You & Eye, past and present has been memorable, impressive, and I am grateful to have worked with them. They have been far above 5 Star every time. Due to insurance I had to switch to a different local provider, it took nine (9) months that another opticians/optometrist to successfully fill a eyeglass prescription. Prescription eyewear had to keep being sent back, we had to have them call Destiny and Dr Pierce more than once, to hold their hand walk them through how to make suitable prescription glasses that would work for a patient like myself. I truly cannot rave enough about everyone in this office and their amazing business practices, professionalism, pricing, and high-end service. I will violently accost people on the street who I hear pondering their next Optometrist needs and point and rant that there is really only one place 'You and Eye' will get the best quality eyecare & eyewear in The Greater Portland Area. Our whole family sees Dr Pearce for eye care. She's a wonderful optometrist and genuinely kind human being. My husband has a particularly difficult prescription, usually getting glasses at other high end places that either don't last or make his eyes look tiny due to the prescription. The optometrist at this shop is so good, that she helped him pick out the best frame for his face and his hefty prescription. He looks fabulous in his glasses. Prices are also quite fair, considering they use the best (Zeiss) lab. We couldn't be happier with the care! read more

I always leave here astonished at the prices, which are really outrageous. The lenses I've gotten here haven't been worth the price--some were pretty bad and a few were decent. There is a lot of upselling--for example, they implied that buying UV coating was mandatory instead of an option. ("I don't even think we sell lenses without the UV coating. .. ") I don't mind spending money for good frames and lenses--but I don't like feeling pushed to spend money and the overall feeling of being ripped off. Really, you can get cheaper and better glasses elsewhere. read more

I've been shocked by the prices at West Linn boutiques before, so I always figured You and Eye was out of my price range. After going to the eye clinic adjacent to Willamette Falls Hospital with what I'm told is a common (and annoying) eye problem, I was advised by their doctors on two occasions that I would have to live with it or have surgery (but it was implied that it would be pretty crazy to choose surgery). After living with it and going crazy feeling like I had an eyelash stuck in my eye for over a year (not fun) and starting to consider the surgery option, I decided to give You and Eye a try for a second opinion. Dr. Pearce immediately identified my problem and directed me to an over-the-counter that fixed the problem within 8 hours. I was also able to get a new set of cute glasses for the same pricing as other places I've gone. If you are thinking about going here, do it. You won't be disappointed. read more

After years of my husband nagging me to get my eyes checked, I finally stopped procrastinating and used that insurance I pay for. As I was looking through the list of providers for which I was covered, You & Eye just jumped out at me. I couldn't *see* what could possibly go wrong with choosing an optometrist based solely off the office name. What can I say? I'm a sucker for puns. Now that all is said said and done, I don't think I could have picked a better office. I don't remember a single positive optometrist visit prior to going here (granted, I hadn't been to one in at least 10 years, but I still remember them not being the least bit enjoyable). Dr. Pearce and her team definitely turned that track record around. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful every step of the way from the moment I walked in the door, to when I left. I ended up showing up almost half an hour early, but didn't have to wait long at all. I was offered beverages during my short wait, and was taken back by Bronte to do all the preliminary eye tests as soon as my paperwork was finished. (Bonus: no air poof!!) In fact, I was halfway done with Dr. Pearce by my actual scheduled appointment time. Something I really loved about her, she wasn't stuffy or too formal like many doctors I've encountered. She's super easy to talk to, and just made me feel really relaxed the whole time. The perfect balance of professional and fun. Destiny was also awesome and knowledgeable while helping me look at frames, and wasn't pushy for sales at all. She also gave me a copy of my prescription just in case I wanted to buy elsewhere, without giving me the dreaded side-eye. I actually didn't even have to ask her for it. Their main priority was just making sure I could see properly ASAP (apparently my sight is worse than I thought ). Although I didn't buy frames there, (I've discovered I'm outrageously picky) they do have a very good sized selection of frames at comparable prices to other places with the same brands. I actually wish I had found my frames here, because these are the kind of people I actually WANT to give my money to. I learned so much about my eyes and I've worn glasses/contacts for 20 years. Destiny helped so much with my choice of glasses. I recently went to see Dr. Pearce because she had good reviews. Sadly that was not my experience. The first exam seemed rushed. I didn't think anything of it until my glasses came back and were absolutely horrible. The optician tried to tell me it was normal "that's just what its like wearing glasses." She didn't know that I am an optometrist's daughter and have worn glasses since the 3rd grade. I've never had glasses simulate being drunk before. She insisted I should just take them home and get used to them. I made her set up a follow up appointment with the doc. At home I tested the new glasses with my 10 year old ones. I could read across the room with my old ones. Not the new. At the second appointment it came out that Dr. Piearce had made a mistake. The prescription was wrong, the PD was wrong, and she had missed astigmatism in one eye. They agreed to send the glasses back to be fixed but continued to push more expensive materials. (They had been trying to up sell from the beginning). My father, the optometrist was with me and he told me no, that the changes that needed to be made (all of the mistakes) were enough to cause that effect. When I returned to pick up the second pair of glasses they were better but still not good. I couldn't read across the room and there was still a mild feel of the world spinning. At this point they insisted there was nothing they would do. Dr. Pierce did NOT take responsibility for her earlier mistakes telling me that they "provide quality care and some people just don't appreciate it." On my way home with the un-usable glasses; I stopped in at another optometrists office to have them verify the prescription. The prescription Dr. Pierce provided was -3.75-0.50 axis 110 & -4.00-0.50 axis 120. The prescription of the glasses given to me was -4.00-0.50 axis 113 & -4.25-0.50 axis 122. So BOTH lenses were off by -0.75 and both axis were wrong. I reported all of this to my insurance and they reinstated my benefits so I can be seen somewhere else. read more

We moved to West Linn 1 year ago, so I was due this month for an eye exam and new glasses and contacts. I checked out several eye doctors online and decided to try Dr. Nicole Pearce at You and Eye. It was a great decision! Dr. Pearce was professional, friendly, and has all of the latest optometry equipment. Destiny, her optician and office assistant, was extremely helpful in finding an affordable and fun frame for my new glasses. They have a huge selection of frames--everything from expensive designer frames to much more affordable, but still fun, frames. They even stock Toms frames (I love Toms's buy one, give one policy)! I am a happy gal. I also took my (very) energetic 8 and 10 year old boys for exams and she was patient and thorough with them. We have found our new family optometrist--yay! read more

I really liked Dr Pearce, however, upon completion of my last appointment I was told by Destiny that she had made a mistake and that my insurance reset after 18 months instead of the 12 she thought it did. Now, I did not set this appointment. I had received a post card mid march that my husband and I were due for exams - call today to schedule. I, like most, just filed this card away and figured I would call when I was good and ready. Fast forward a few weeks and Destiny called me up and told me the Dr books her patients appointments a year in advance and that ours were on such and such a date. I thought okay, I know this appointment was not made a year ago but if I am due, I am due. At the completion of the exam, as I stated above, Destiny alerted me to the fact that she had made a mistake and my insurance allowed covered exams after 18 months, hence the completed exam was not covered. She apologized and offered to try to bill medical and to also talk to the doctor to see what they could do. Fast forward to last week when I received a bill for the full amount with a 10% on payment discount. My insurance guarantee's me 20% of services regardless of coverage. I called the office and they agreed to the 20% off, however, they take no responsibility for their part instead stating that the doctor recommends an exam every 12 months. I understand wanting to keep a steady flow of patients, bills need to be paid, but lying to patients and setting up appointments assuming their insurance will cover without verifying is not good practice and my assumption they they knew my coverage was stupid on my part. I would say we are at least 50/50 to blame, instead I am out the cash and they are out at least 2 patients. read more
