a long review but: Stick with me on this one, ok guys?…read more First off- these men are great to talk with. I just went back to Perfection for my thirdddd time to have them do work on my Kia. They were able to work within my schedule and my timing which was nice (thank you!!!) - But i left this time around not feeling not sure that I'll continue to use them. They had done previous work on my car which did NOT hold up, due to the error of whoever painted my car last time (the other gentleman Bob stated to me that there was a missing step in the order of the paints/sealants they put on last time bc it should not have chipped and eroded away so badly in only ~1.5 (max 2) years time. Even if there was an "inciting" event like "a rock" that "peeled it away". Ok. ...So anyway, after this past winter season I inquired if they could fix their work for me, for free. They agreed. I had other work to get done on my car, so i thought hey, I'll make it worth their while and pay them to do extra work while they fix what they said they would for free. Right? Hopefully yall are following my logic here. He provided me two estimates. One for the work I'd pay to do ($1944). Then- The "free" work estimate, I asked for him to work up a quote on that just so I could get an idea / gauge of their prices-- if I wanted to keep coming back to them. This quote was, in his words as well, $1100. So- By his logic, for him to fix the part of my car where their poor job was before- which was, at most, 7 inches of peeling paint, he said that would have been $1100. thu: to fix my ENTIRE whole front bumper & undercarriage was $1900, (so in theory as two separate jobs, the bigger one is "only" $800 more?? with literal new parts?) so his estimates did NOT make sense to me. Oh and, the final I paid today was +$4.00 from what he originally quoted me. I don't mean to split hairs so I didn't gripe. And- they didn't even use the protective floor mats this time nor did they vacuum my driver seat floor (I could see their dirty footprints). Sure there's probably things I'm not understanding as to how they do their business but... I just paid $4 more from their estimate and most likely just covered their CC merchant processing fees while receiving my interior back dirtier than it was before. ... His exact words to be going into this were "It will all most likely be less than the estimate, I will let you know once we get the car in and parts off!" Not once did he touch base w me before moving forward w the work. I had to call him ...I digress. Just make sure you are vigilant & stay on top of them and communicate every step of the way. Unless you have a couple extra hundred(s) to play around with. I didn't want to be a pest to them and call every day for the week they had my car- John always sounded hurried on the phone as I do understand they're busy. But I'm not sure how I feel after this experience. I will most likely do the rest of my car repairs in my hometown at a non-Cook County price gouge. TLDR: Good guys, good work- if you have the $ & to maybe have to come back and have their work repaired, or ya know. Everything else I said.

I had no problems at all! They even helped me call around for a rental car and since it was a mid Saturday afternoon, I only had the options of renting from the airport. They worked with my insurance company and handled everything for me, they called me to let me know what was going on and had my car fixed super fast! This was a vastly better experience than my last accident where I took my car to a " prefferd car repair center " with my insurance company ( ie the dealer I got it at ). Bonus points for this accommodation. When I picked my car up a week and a half later, I was ecstatic! My driver side door had been a little offhinge for awhile and they went ahead and fixed that. It honestly looks better than before the accident. The color matches perfect. They worked directly with my insurance company and all I had to pay was my deductible. Pro-Tip! They only take cash. I was told it was because someone had once cancelled a certified check and they were out money. I can respect that.

Changed parts without first contacting the insurance company. Since the insurance company refused to pay. Body Works on Grand, Inc. then wanted to charge me for repairs made without authorization from my insurance company or myself owner of the vehicle. After I informed the manager/owner that I had contacted my lawyer, he started yelling at me over the phone and threatened me with his lawyer, but then after all that he wanted to give me parts for free after I requested that new parts be removed because they were installed without my permission. He then spread lies about me owing him $1800 for the free parts he willingly wanted to give me. The entire conversation was recorded for evidence because I already suspected this company is shady and does not do business to satisfy its customers. I do not recommend using this company, particularly if you require minor repairs and want a quick turnaround that does not exceed your rental period.

But this time, I knew where to go. I met Bill (the general manager) a few years back when I was looking for a body shop to repair an unsatisfactory job done by another shop that eased recommended by the insurance company. Needless to said, I was very satisfied with their work, hence the reason I returned. This time was a minor rear end collision. Once again, Body Works on Grand handled it beautifully. Including dealing with the  reluctant insurance company. Eventhough it was a small job, the car was detailed in its entirety (washed inside and out) and even the engine. Should you have the misfortune of needing a body shop, give them a try, there is a good chance it will become the body shop of your choice, as it is mine.
