When we come up to Winter Park/Fraser/Granby, Wake N' Bacon is our favorite place for brunch! When I walked in the place was packed and thought I would never get seated. They did have ready made food available to go, but the gentleman was able to get me seated right away. The service from beginning to end was exceptional. Now, the food - delicious! That is it. It's been a few weeks since I was there and think I had avocado toast, eggs, maybe an Arnold Palmer and coffee. If you are in the area, do not hesitate. Service was amazing! Ambiance was decent, and the food was pretty good I had a biscuit with bacon and poached egg. The poached egg was overcooked, but the biscuit and sauce were pretty good. My grand kid came with me and had a bagel sandwich that she said was good but too heavy. She said that the her Chocolate milk was amazing and cinnamon roll was great too. We arrived at 10:15am on a Thursday. There was a bit of a wait, but very quickly got through the line. My son was anxious to snag one particular donut he had seen in the bakery case window, and he took our server Gary to secure the goods. Gary was prompt with service and a recommended coffee order- which he named the "Honey Nut Cheerio" latte. Bonus points because it had sub oat milk, like he read my mind. We ordered the Table Bacon, an assortment of candied, applewood, and habanero- for the bacon connoisseur in my life. Oddly no pics - because every dish that came out was so good we scarfed it up before I could get a pic. GREAT reason. Service/server was excellent - fast - efficient. The guy doing waitlist was pretty rude but that was our only negative. Table - o - bacon - is a must (think bacon flight). Dont forget to look all the way down to the "to-go-option" foods - they have a chicken biscuit that is an excellent choice. Wanted to try this spot while on vacation. Very busy but the wait was short and we were seated inside. Ordered 2 classic breakfast and one waffle to share and coffee. Coffee was really good and that is where it ended. Bacon was so under cooked, not sure if it hit the pan at all. Hash browns were cold, eggs lukewarm. Waffle was also lukewarm and very grainy almost as if it was a whole wheat Belgian waffle. BUT!! The most shocking thing we saw was when busing a table the staff poured water from the glasses from the dirty table into a carafe and then proceeded to take it outside and serve other guests the water. Came back in with an empty carafe. This place is def a one and done for us! Wish we could have skipped it. read more

The food was ordinary. I ordered a bagel egg sandwich with bacon. The waitress asked what kind of cheese I wanted, I said "cheddar." When it arrived I had a bagel with jalapeno peppers and cheddar, a far cry from cheddar cheese. I am unable to eat peppers much less hot ones, so that was a waste. The service was sporactic, the worst part of all was the guy who delivered water handed it to us with his fingers over the rim of the glass. Gross. Clearly a popular spot. Small parking lot too. Definitely get on the waitlist. We got super lucky, grabbing a spot in the lot and getting a table right away. Helps to have a small party. Food was fine, but not outstanding or super original. The house made bagels are good with the lox. Super generous with the capers (yum!!), but heavy handed with the olive oil. The pork belly skillet was fine, but needed more pork belly. The pastries in the case looked great, and the kids around us seemed to be enjoying them. Although a bit of a trek from Winter Park, Java Lava in Granby is a better breakfast for your buck. read more

We decided to stop in today after not visiting for while, hoping for a nice breakfast experience. Unfortunately, my husband's omelette came out very overcooked to the point that the inside wasn't really edible, the meat was burnt, the hash browns were basically potato chip straws, the bread was stale tasting.. At the same time, the garnishes on my Bloody Mary seemed well past their prime, vegetables were brown and soft, and even the lemon wedge on the rim was brown and quite dried out. The server handled the situation kindly, which we appreciated. Our server also offered to bring a replacement side, but by then my husband had lost his appetite and chose not to order anything else. It was just a bit of a disappointing visit overall. I was absolutely obsessed with this place and I just recently went to get my favorite thing there deviled eggs and at first there was no bacon and I asked for bacon because they missed it. Then I got the bacon and it was tiny little crumbs that seemed to be leftover. I had my bf go back for it to be corrected and they said that's just how it is. So... my sister, who lives in Winter Park, went in to grab a breakfast sandwich. On her way out, she caught her foot on the turned-up corner of the rug and went down hard -- bleeding knees, scraped elbows, and totally shaken. When the owner came out (apparently after being interrupted from his lunch), he looked at her and said, "What do you want me to do about it?" No concern. No offer to help. Not even an "Are you okay?" I'm honestly still stunned. We've visited that restaurant many times, but after seeing how they handled this, I'll never go back. A must visit for breakfast when visiting Winter Park. FAST Food: we ate so much this weekend but knew we needed to get breakfast at Wake N' Bacon we got a waffle and breakfast Burrito. The waffle was lite and tasty with some berries on top. Everything in the Burrito was super fresh and while you have options for the meat inside I highly recommend the bacon! Why would they offer anything else? The salsa they have with the burrito was amazing, if you like salsa ask for extra. Atmosphere: Not too busy for a late season Sunday, we ate at the counter. Everyone was enjoying a casual late breakfast. Service: our food was out in minutes, amazing considering how fresh it was. Our waitress was lovely and checked in on us regularly. My absolute favorite spot in WP. Were here ~100 days/ year and I eat here whenever I can. Biscuits are incredible. Valley omelet is huge and has great veggies. The avocado toast wasn't really toasted and had a few pieces of slimy spinach I had to pick off. Very expensive for what we were served. Stopped by and asked what some good recommendations are. The first recommendation was the pot pie. I was a little hesitant at first thinking it was similar to a traditional pot pie, but it was nothing close. So much good in one dish. The flakey bread that crumbled into the gravy bacon cheesy hash brown egg goodness was a perfect combination. It's a large bowl so I got a to go bowl and hope tomorrow is as good as today was. Also grabbed a Bloody Mary to accompany the pot pie which was a nice combination. The service was excellent, way faster than expected. I ended up grabbing a nitro cold brew for the road since I have a pretty long drive and it's on par with the rest of the food too. Great place! read more
