Holy families Batman! I'm not sure really how many "stars" to give this spot. Incredibly beautiful setting. Of the beers I tried the hazy IPA Winslow was the winner. Taproom is small but the outdoor area is set up with lots of tables, umbrellas and space for the littles to run around and be kids. Generously, outside food is permitted. Just went to Waredaca last sunday. Boy! This place is hopping even on sunday afternoon. We hooked up with friends and while waiting my hubby ordered the samplers. There were 7 on tap that day. All great tasting brews with interesting names. My husband's favourite is Ultralight which has misleading name. It's not a light beer, but the beer that's light in color. The golden brew reminds me of the famous Thai Singha beer. Zack, our very informative "beer tender", explained the story behind the names and the ingredients and TLC that went into each brew. His enthusiasm will make you take each sip with a new perspective. They offered a few snack items, peanuts, crackers, meat n cheese, nothing fancy. You can bring your own also. To take home, Waredaca sells logo glass or stainless growler like any other brew pub, but I like the 32 Oz. alluminium can option. You can watch them fill it with any brew of your choice and seal it with a pop off top while you wait. Cool! read more

The Beecher IPA, named after an old friend and the founder of Waredaca, is an outstanding IPA. Just the right level of "hoppiness". I have sampled them all and the Beecher continues to be my favorite. Beer is awesome, and it's great to hang in the brewery and talk to the staff. Food is meh, wish there were more vegan options. The garlic hummus is pre made (from Cava actually, never seen that elsewhere), and the garlic was hardcore, almost inedible. So I'll stick with normal next time. I've been coming to the farm for over 25 years. My sister used to ride here and I moved away long ago, but when I heard the Butts family opened a brewery on site I had to make it a point to come try it out on a trip through the area. I took home a few, but I know I'll have to go back soon because when you find beers that you love, you'll enjoy them way more. It's a 2 hr drive that I'll make again really soon. I like this place. It's a horse farm...and a brewery! And they have a huge patio/drinking space where folks can bring coolers of food, chairs, picnic blankets (or sit at tables) and spend the day drinking a good variety of generally excellent beers. Although more of apale ale guy, I really dig their honey wheat and they also make a solid saison. For hop lovers, I'd suggest the NE style IPA which has some nice tropical fruit notes. They've had some good bands there on the weekends, including some really solid and energetic bluegrass groups. I do have to knock them a bit for the food. We ordered roasted eggplant dip with pitas and were presented with a plastic tub of Cava brand eggplant dip served ice cold with a small bowl of pita chips that included about six chips and a couple of handfuls of pita chip crumbs. We ate the six chips and left the pathetic tub of cava dip more-or-less untouched, along with the mound of pita chip crumbs. Come on guys...if this is what you're going to offer for $9, then just don't offer it at all. read more

The atmosphere was more similar to a bar scene than a small brewery which is appealing to a specific demographic. A fun Friday/Saturday night hang out. Visited this gem over a Saturday and was absolutely amazed and what they have! Our dedicated group of 4 made the 1 hour drive from DC and stayed basically from open-close (2PM-8PM). Around 5PM the live-music started. It's a perfect place to spend the day, for sure. The beer is reasonably priced, and I would highly recommend everyone starting off with the beer flight sampler. We were able to sample all 7 of their on-site brewed beers and enjoy the amazing weather. They have a LOT of picnic tables and open grass area to lounge around in and enjoy the day. The taproom itself is in a converted old barn-style building. They have pastures surrounding the brewery with horses that you can watch just galloping around. It's like a picturesque movie scene! We noticed that many of the other patrons were also making a day of it- picnics and all-day setups were abundant. We also bought two of the cheese/meat boards which we felt were well worth the price. We tried both a hard cheese and then the soft rosemary cheese (which is served in a jar - the cheese being small little balls you scoop out). Literally zero complaints, will definitely be returning. We obviously bought a growler of beer to take home - you cannot consume growlers / beer cans on-site! Only their draft pours. read more

Beware if you bring your dog or young children. Our family dog, a 13-year old miniature poodle, was viscously attacked by a dog owned by a horse boarder, not at the Brewery, who allegedly escaped from a parked car while she tended her horse. While I understand that it is ultimately the responsibility of the dog owner, it makes me uneasy that this Brewery could not say how they would work to prevent future incidents which could occur since the grounds are connected to a horse farm. It was an unprovoked attack. The dog made a beeline for our dog, which my husband had on a leash while waiting for my daughters and inside the bathroom. There were many people outside. Some nice men who knew the dog helped wrestled if down. My daughter grabbed the jaw of the dog and could have been really injured. It took 4 of us to get the dog to let go. Our poodle suffered extensive bites that could have killed her. (no exaggeration here; heard it from medical professionals). While not the fault of the Brewery, their response was unkind and defensive. The Brewery tap manager came out when she heard screaming and told my husband to "calm down" and stop shouting because his behavior was unacceptable. It was a traumatic experience and he was shouting to get the dog to let go. While the dog's owner expressed concern about our dog, and responsibly paid the medical bills, the Brewery owners only followed up with a letter from their insurance company stating that we had no grounds to sue since the Brewery was "unaware that (owner's) dog had escaped her vehicle and was running around the property loose and without a leash and attacked your dog". We had no intention of suing and had never stated it. Had the Brewery expressed some good will towards us or expressed some concern for our dog and they might work to prevent future incidents, I might not have written this negative review. I am concerned for future visitors and dogs. When I asked one owner how they were going to prevent this dangerous dog from entering their property again, she replied that she would give me the email of the owner and if she would fence her dog in. That wasn't the point as I assume the horse boarder doesn't live adjacent to the Brewery. read more

I am not a beer kind of girl but I found two beers at a super reasonable price that I enjoyed, 321 Goose was my fave on a hot summer day. The beer is very good. I had a Dubbel and IPA which were served in appropriate glasses and correct temp. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The crowd was mello and friendly. This is a wonderful place. Don't go for the food (they have munchies), go for the beer, bring your own munchies and enjoy!!! read more

This farm brewery has great beers and a friendly atmosphere. Laytonsville's first and newest farm brewery is everything one can hope for. The setting is quaint and laid back - a very welcoming brew house with long tables and leather couches complementing a good sized bar. There is plenty of outdoor seating in the form of picnic tables on the patio and more tables scattered around the yard. The patio is right off the tap room and the brewery, with large glass windows letting you gaze upon the shinny brewing tanks. The beers seem to be European styled (several pilsners and lagers) along with a few seasonal beers (IPA in summer and stouts and porters in the colder seasons). Because they are a farm brewery, every brew has an ingredient that is grown on the farm. Starting with a flight is the way to go, at $2 for each 5oz taste, the price is right. Then grab a pint (or several half pints) of your favorite. Find something you like? They can their beers on demand. Have a favorite? Get a vacuum sealed growler to go! The staff is fantastic, very welcoming and friendly. They come around and make sure glassed are topped off and passing around waters. My wife and I came with our baby and we found several other young families there we well. This brewery does a great job at having a welcome atmosphere, fair prices, and great beers! read more

Very good brewery in a nice country setting. Waredaca is definitely out of the way (from almost everything), but worth the trip. Even. On a rainy winter afternoon, it's a nice setting. Inside is warm and friendly, with great service. There were a lot of regulars, but everyone was very welcoming to a new comer. I started with a flight to taste some of the different beers. There beers are true to style and flavorful. I have been to many of the local nanobreweries, and this is my favorite so far. Their Belgian trippel was true to style and very drinkable. A dangerous combination for an 8% beer. Their tangerine double IPA was quite good also. Well balanced with a citrusy finish. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Paid my first visit to Waredaca tonight and boy was I not disappointed. I've been into drinking craft beer lately and have been discovering some of the great local breweries this area has to offer. I visited Brookeville Beer Farm recently and enjoyed the beer but the place was jammed packed and very loud. Waredaca offers a different atmosphere. The brewery is located on a horse farm and the tasting room is small and cozy. My timing was perfect as I went on a very cold and windy night and on the early side. Only a few patrons at the bar. I ordered the Beecher, which is an IPA. As others have said, I normally find IPAs to be too hoppy but this one went down smooth and didn't have a lot of bitterness. Great beer! The bartender, Jess, asked if I wanted another beer and said I wasn't sure. She was very kind to give me a sample of all the beers on tap. They were all great. All in all, I was very impressed with Waredaca and the employees were very friendly and welcoming. I'd return! read more
