VENUE: The location of the restaurant is great, many tables are on the water and I feel like they definitely make a point to seat everyone in those booths first. There are plenty of tables to sit at so I wouldn't anticipate a wait with the amount of traffic this place gets. The decor is also nice and clean looking. SERVICE: We were seated as soon as the host saw us. The waiters do sweeps regularly to clear empty plates so we never had more than 2 empty trays at once. To order, you write on the menu with a whiteboard marker up to 8 items (we had 2 people) FOOD: Meat was not the best, at first I thought it was freezer burned but I think it just wasn't defrosted yet. I think they freeze the meat in the trays that they are served in as the trays were also ice cold. This caused the meat to stick to the grill but putting it on lower heat helped it cook better. I was excited about the sauce bar, I had two sauces I rotated so I wouldnt get bored. One was chador sauce with garlic and scallions, and the other I mixed sesame sauce, oyster sauce, garlic, scallions, soy sauce, and vinegar. I probably wouldn't eat the meat without sauce tbh. Upon arriving, you have to choose either hotpot or BBQ, no choice of both available. We chose hotpot and since it was the weekend, it's the dinner menu the entire day. They give you menus and a marker to write your orders in, and then you hand the menu over to them. First off, for the price, $80 (tax+tip included) for AYCE hotpot for 2 on a weekend, not too bad given today's prices and inflation. My girlfriend and I were pretty full afterwards. (If you've read my other reviews, I'm a garbage can and can eat an entire Little Lucca's sandwich for a meal...). They also cleared the tables of empty dishes extremely fast, even if they were clearly understaffed. However, the meats were so so quality. Sauce options were typical, but pretty bland and not flavorful. The soups were okay, but I didn't feel there was anything special. I didn't bother getting much seafood given other reviews about sand... But...for a decently Foster City priced AYCE, this is fine. Plenty of parking in the plaza and great lagoon view on a nice day. It's just a bit confusing. Why is it even called a Buffet? The only buffet was a buffet of sauces, ice cream, and a giant bowl of salted peanuts. Absolutely can not end this day without giving the biggest shoutout to the amazing team over at Warehouse Buffet, and their venue. From the first time I ever stepped foot in the restaurant, I was blown away by how nice it was, and even further amazed by how great the food was. I also love the setup of the self-serve side dishes and desserts. (Not like other restaurants who only offer the tiniest servings of side dishes.) Additionally, parking is plentiful, which is extremely key!! I thought it would be a great place to have my grandmother's 101st birthday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Thank you so much to the entire staff for all of your patience with all of my pre-event visits, and all of my pre-event calls, and all of my questions, and for FULLY accommodating our huge group, and for NOT charging a bunch of extra fees, and for giving us the opportunity to host such a wonderful party for our matriarch. Every single staff member I came into contact with was always extremely pleasant to speak with, and very helpful and knowledgeable. They really made the hardest part of planning such a huge party absolutely seamless. I came here for dinner and had hotpot only. I love that you get your own individual pots since I have a food allergy. I didn't have to worry about any cross contamination :) We ordered 15 items to start with, and only our veggies came out. After waiting for 20-30 minutes for our protein, it turns out that the workers erased our order. It makes me think that the workers are careless or perhaps didn't want to fulfill our protein order and wanted us to fill up on veggies. When the protein did come out, they seemed to be small portions. There is also a dessert bar in the corner, but the desserts were just ok. I will say the restaurant looked very nice. Came here for my moms bday! Here's what your gonna expect The decent: 1. Only meat that was decent was the short ribs and bulgogi. Reviews are correct that the short ribs are very fatty. 2. The Dam Customer Service representative always replying to all the reviews with BS excuses saying sorry this sorry that.. Just a head's up, they have made changes to the restaurant and it isn't exactly what it was pre-pandemic. What you need to know is this: 1. You choose either AYCE KBBQ -or- a la carte hotpot. 2. You have an option to do a la carte sushi no matter what option you chose above. 3. You may have seen something about their cooking surface being dirty in other reviews. The cooking surface they use gets foamy when you first start cooking with it, but we asked the servers about this and they mentioned it is because the cooking surface is double-plated, which means there is a little gap between the two surfaces in the punctured holes around the surface. Maybe it cooks better or cleans easier this way, not sure. They do not do AYCE hotpot, and they do not do AYCE sushi. In my opinion, here are the pro's and con's. Pro's: - Incredible scenic view of Central Lake and the homes surrounding it in Foster City. We saw ducks, various boats, and two swimmers pass by. I wanted to toss some cooked meat to the swimmers, but I didn't want to get kicked out of the restaurant. - The servers were nice and attentive. Nothing bad to say about them, and in fact they were the ones that carried our experience as far as the rating goes. Though to be fair, we came in around 4pm which had a light crowd and once it started hitting closer to 5:30pm they started getting more patrons, so we could've received better service just because it was less crowded. Con's: - The food was not great. The banchan when served looked stale, the meats didn't look great either, didn't have a good smell to it, and overall I felt sick afterwards eating it. I tried to finish the food not to waste it, but after that meal I definitely regretted it. - There isn't a lot of ventilation for the grills when you do KBBQ, and they rely on the windows being opened to vent the grilling. There are side vents on the grill itself, but I didn't see or hear any ventilation mechanism kicking in. All the smoke pretty much went into our faces or the off chance it was sucked out of the window. - The establishment itself didn't feel very clean. The bathrooms were atrocious. Though it kind of feels like restaurants in SF where there is a sense of grimey-ness to it because of close in proximately it is to the water/the bay, these peninsula cities probably share the same issue. The view was nice, and there aren't too many KBBQ places that have a view like this, but my stomach was turning nonstop on the drive home and I don't think I can recommend that to folks unless this restaurant can offer a better experience for their KBBQ. read more

There's plenty of parking. The staff is attentive. The place is spacious. Other than that, the "juice is not worth the squeeze." The grill even when it's on high, is not high enough for the average cuts of meat to sear quickly. We got the tom yum soup and it lacked flavor and sourness you'd expect. This restaurant seems new and is very nicely decorated with a beautiful lakefront view. You have to be a group of 4 or fewer to be seated at a table with a window view though. We opted for both kbbq and hot pot and glad we did! The hot pot was good and the food came out quickly. I preferred the kbbq meat but it cooked slower since we only had one grill for the whole table. The kbbq was very flavorful and they had great side options such as lettuce wraps, pickled daikon, and kimchi. Dessert was a little lacking; the froyo machine wasn't very good but I feel like the food and ambiance made up for it. The servers were friendly and worked hard to get the food out to us quickly. I've been going here for years, through thick and thin and even Covid, I am so glad this place survived! The meat quality selection has improved to a whole new level trust me it's not like before! The place is very big and has a great view of the water in Foster City. This place is great for big parties and the price is very affordable for an all you can eat Korean bbq place. The service is good nothing much to complain there. The meat quality wasn't the best. If they invested in better meats this place would be a favorite but unfortunately the meat was lacking natural flavor and the texture wasn't great either. ( they must've taken that down once I complained bc I don't see it there anymore) Not only was the food not good, no flavor at all, service was non- existent. The meat was all fat. This was my first time coming despite the restaurant being open for quite some time now. The interior of the restaurant is very nice and big. It was the first kbbq I've been to where there's no vents above the table and I was scared bc you always leave smelling like meat even with the vents and I figured it would be even worse now since there weren't any at all. We were sitting next to the window so it was a nice view as well. At the beginning of the meal, I was already pretty disappointed. They did have a large variety of meats and seafood but the meats were not the best quality. I did like a lot of the marinated meats such as the bulgogi and galbi but other ones were dry and many of them were very very fatty. The salad and sauce bar had a lot of different things to choose from. The service was lacking quite a bit. I understand it's difficult going to so many tables especially when people constantly need things but the employees were not the most friendly because when changing the grill they would stand there and expect you to know what to do (like move your tongs off and scoop the meat onto the new grill) and we would always ask for things and say please or thank you but they wouldn't really say much to acknowledge. It also took asking 5 different people to finally get rice. They had a robot to bring you food sometimes but I was a little confused why they were using it because it didn't seem like they relied on it much. They had dessert which I appreciated. Everyone had their own individual pot so there wasn't a need to fight over cooking in a communal pot. The sauce bar was comprehensive so I was able to mix my typical custom hot pot sauces. There was a separate counter for japchae, kimchi, salad, and a couple dessert and fruit selections. The staff were very attentive and continuously cleared our dishes and refilled our soups. There is a mandatory 15% tip for parties of 5 and up but this is absolutely deserved because they did a nice job! Also enjoyed the spacious environment and the lakefront views.
