I've been here a handful of times over the years and they have always delivered delicious food. This visit stared with oysters and cocktails at the bar. If you like a dirty martini w stuffed blue cheese olives, it's here. We all had the red fish on creamy grits. Served with a veg helped keep the plate light. Had a lot of food left but when traveling a doggy bag isn't always an option. Now, what is a must is their key lime pie. Wow! The lime is strong yet not too tart and the meringue was light. When you are looking for upscale in the Monroe area, options tend to be pretty limited. My wife and I came last weekend for our anniversary dinner. Even though it was quite busy and we didn't have reservations, we were seated very quickly. Our server was very friendly and attentive the whole night. I had the New York strip steak and my wife had the redfish orleans. Both were prepared very nicely. We even got a complimentary piece of cheesecake and a photo for our anniversary. I was invited to Warehouse No. 1 over the weekend to attend a graduation brunch. I have to start by saying that the customer service was just as amazing as the food which is almost unheard of with a group the size as ours ( 30+) so that alone set the tone for me. Now let's get to the food.... once we were seated and settled baskets of complimentary jalapeño hush puppies were brought out and I must add that I am not a fan of hush puppies AT ALL but these were unlike any that I have EVER tasted, they were light and fluffy and full of flavor after the hush puppies were served we were then served a 3 course meal from a set menu that began with the appetizer tray which included, fried mushrooms, fried chicken, fried fish, cocktail shrimp and last but definitely not least Grilled oysters (as a matter of fact they were my favorite!)The fish was seasoned and fried to perfection and so were the mushrooms. Every one was raving about the fried chicken bites even my 12 year old daughter who is a very picky eater. The house salads that were served after the appetizer round were all fresh and came with a side of your choice of 3 dressings ( ranch, Gorgonzola bleu cheese or thousand island). Now on to the entrees.... I ordered the Filet Oscar with a loaded baked potato my steak was cooked to perfection which as you know is a hit or miss when you're with a big group( more times than not it's a miss) A lot of the other guests ordered the Ribeye and the redfish. The food was served hot and I didn't hear of any complaints. The staff did an amazing job taking and delivering orders without any mix ups and in a very timely fashion. I would say that if you are planning a brunch or dinner party in this area this place is a must the patio area is nice and very accommodating for a big group. The indoor restaurant space looks like it would be great for a date night or for a night out with friends. First time visiting with my colleague and at first I was shocked as how packed the parking lot was, then I walked inside and saw why. My colleague and I was immediately seated and the gracious server took care of us soon. The place was packed and this was during lunchtime. I ordered the Fried Shrimp & Catfish platter with Sweet Potatoe Fries and my colleague had the Grilled Shrimp Ceasar Salad with Ice Tea. Excellent lunch with riverside view. Stumbled upon this place on a road trip with my kids, minutes before lunch service was over. We were warmly welcomed and the shrimp and grits was mentioned as a local favorite. Hush puppies were great and I had to fend off the generous waitress to avoid the kids filling up on them. Our waitress, got hand written thank you's from the kids, offered the kids samples for their first taste of gumbo and grits. They opted for the tried and tested bacon burger and shrimp po boy. Huge portions and piping hot. They seemed to have enjoyed it. I did not try their food as I enjoyed mine too much. I went for the deep fried grits (cake) and blackened shrimp (waitress recommendation). It was fantastic! Some of the best steaks I have ever had, perfect cooked, lightly seasoned and delicious. The staff is very friendly and efficient, handled our every request. Nice atmosphere and pleasant music. I had the fried green tomatoes, caesar salad, and gumbo. The tomatoes were the best I have had this trip and I have ordered them three times, but the mustard topping was a little strong. I ordered the salad with light dressing and it was pretty drenched. The gumbo was good with a very dark roux much darker then I can make and a good flavor. My only complaint was the IPA. They served lagunitas which is excellent, but I would have expected one of the several local IPA's to be served. read more

I am visiting Monroe, and found this restaurant on Yelp. My friend and I were promptly seated by the water, and the wait staff was friendly, and went over the menu. The waiter brought us hush puppies that were to die for! My main course was the shrimp platter. The blackened and grilled shrimp were simply awesome! After the main course, I ordered Creme Brûlée, and my friend ordered Key Lime pie. Both desserts were excellent! read more

This restaurant was highly recommended from a few different groups of people through my visit through Monroe. It didn't disappoint. I sat at the bar for a laid back atmosphere while I got worked and ate, and the bartender was attentive and gave great suggestions from the menu. I wasn't too hungry so I went with the gumbo, but I replaced the rice with the jalapeño cheese grits, per her suggestion. What a duo! It came with four hushpuppies of goodness. Sweet bread speckled with some peppers. They truly made the meal. Amazing meal with an amazing view of the glassy Ouachita. Even on this cloudy day, we were treated to turtles relaxing on the nearby bank and mirror reflections of Louisiana cypress trees, all the while indulging in one of the best Cajun restaurants in Southern US. Order both Crab and corn bisque and the seafood gumbo to share because you must experience both! The fresh fish with cheese grits and topped with crawfish etouffee gives New Orleans high end restaurants a run for their money. Chef Mac Castille even gifted us with his new strawberry shortcake with buttery biscuit invention. A must have even if your tummy says no. And our waiter, Alex, is a gem. The salad was a mixture of fresh greens with cucumber slices and cherry tomatoes. The balsamic dressing was good. They bring hot hush puppies to the table, which were very tasty. After seeing pictures of food that other guest have posted I picked Warehouse No.1. We arrived pretty near the end of their lunch hours, we were greeted immediately and offered indoor or outdoor seating. The hush puppies were fabulous! I had gumbo for my starter, it was so good that if I hadn't thought I would not have been able to eat my entree I would have gotten another cup. I had the oyster poboy, it was delicious. My husband had I a salad he raved about it and a catfish special for his entree. I had cream brûlée and he had a coconut dessert. If I'm ever back in the area I'll stop again. Our server was great, she answered every question my talkative husband had about the restaurants history, questions about the town and even let him meet the chef. The sauce on the Snapper Carrie, was a bit too salty, the metal deck chair was cold, the table a bit wobbly and the gravel parking lot seemed a bit "rustic". My husband and I live about an hour from West Monroe. We visit this restaurant about 2 or 3 times a year and really enjoy it. We've always had very good service. Warehouse no. 1 is probably my new favorite restaurant which is a problem considering I live in Texas. The food was so incredible it was like a million tiny Angels were dancing around on my taste buds planting flower seeds made of love and happiness. I got fried catfish it was so fresh and crisp it was like they just speared it in the river earlier in the day. I also got a cup of gumbo which was exactly the way gumbo should be. It had just enough kick like Chuck Norris was kind enough to graciously to kick the soup before they served it to you. I finished off the evening with a slice of cheesecake that was so amazingly rich. After just two bites it was like the Angels had returned to pick all the flowers they had planted.
