    Neat wall Ethernet jacks

Aleksei and Alex were great setting up my home with Ethernet wiring, relocating the fiber optic cable, and setting up my Ubiquiti hardware in a central networking closet. I live in an older building with tall ceilings and plaster walls so it was tough finding someone who wouldn't charge extra for the headache. They responded quickly to my inquiry and were willing to use material I had already purchased for the job. The job was done during COVID-19 and the two were extremely courteous and thoughtful when it came to wearing masks and working quietly while me and my neighbor were working from home. They even swept up all of the debris from the floor before they left! They were fast, thorough, and very affordable. I am very pleased with the quality of work and will utilize their services again in the future.

Second only to their homes. I'm well aware of the exacting standards needed. The self discipline needed and the attention to detail and care for details needed to restore someone's prized luxury vehicle. Those same standards apply to working in or on someone's home. My previous reviews explain how I met Jake at Barker Tech. This is a new review with new perspective. It's been over two years since I paid Jake and shook his hand. In those two years Jake has reached out 3 times to check on my home and his work. It just seems to be how he is. In those two years I've reached out with some admittedly stupid questions and each time he's addressed my concerns without any snark or down talk that some techie guys use when speaking to plebes. I needed additional home tech stuff and naturally I reached out to Jake. His response was timely given his work load and he immediately offered elegant solutions to an inelegant problem. (Someone in my neighborhood is actively using my gravel yard as a dog pit stop and leaving me nasty surprises ). Jake offered some very clever options up to and including an outdoor speaker paired with my existing camera system (that he installed ) to politely ask the offending dog owner to remove their dog waste. Ultimately my wife vetoed the idea of me having the ability to leave audio messages for bad neighbors. But Jake's suggestion of an upgraded new camera with AI facial recognition and a wider field of view was perfect. Within a week Jake personally came back and upgraded the camera thus negating the one small blind spot the offender had been using. He kept his word. He sent me tutorials and worked with me not even being home to ensure that I was 100% satisfied with my upgraded surveillance view before leaving. Jake at Barker Tech is an excellent example of excellence in action. Trustworthy. Reliable. Professional. Meticulous. Passionate. Informed and informative. Personable and Diligent. Our home has an older AV system installed years ago by another contractor. Over time, the system became outdated, complicated, and the contractor became harder to reach and increasingly expensive. My wife and I separated several years ago, but she still lives in the home and has always struggled with the universal remote and the setup's complexity. Recently, she called me in distress because she couldn't turn on the television in the living room. Under normal circumstances, that would be a small inconvenience. But my wife is currently battling stage-four ovarian cancer and only has a few months left. All she wanted was the simple comfort of sitting on the couch and watching TV. I called Jake and explained the situation. Without hesitation, he said he would come take a look. The next day, he and one of his technicians, Wilson, showed up and spent over an hour patiently troubleshooting the system until they got everything working again. When the work was finished, I asked what I owed him. Jake said there would be no charge given my wife's condition. I was honestly taken back. In a world where it often feels like everything is transactional, Jake chose compassion instead. This wasn't just good service, it was humanity, and I'll never forget that kindness. If you're looking for someone who truly cares about his clients and takes pride in his work, Barker Tech is the real deal.

I had them replace an older Aiphone intercom with Unifi access and they came and installed a Unifi door reader, cleaned up my door strikes, installed a unifi in wall in a rental unit so we could pass through an additional POE port to a Unifi intercom and then came up with an idea to consolidate my networking gear in my garage so I changed scope after day 1 to include that and also setup a gate hub automation. I also had them do a new cat6 run and they did a great job with that as well as patching up the holes from older cables. Great communication - they know their networking and Unifi gear and I would recommend to others looking for ethernet/wireless/security cameras and expertise with Unifi gear.

They recommended a high-quality system at a fair price and were able to schedule the installation quickly. Xfinity kept telling me the "new" box was going to easily pump wifi through my whole house. It never worked and we had multiple dead spots in our house, where wifi never reached. We ended up trying several things, included a second network setup using Google Nest routers. That also didn't work great and we suffered for years. So finally got fed up, and I called BATH and told Ari what the issue was. He gave me a budget, which I bristled at, at first. Then he walked me through a likely fix, which involved a couple routers networked so that I had independent wifi running on both floors of the house but on the same network. The tech came by and was super nice, and walked me through what they were going to do. I was cautiously optimistic. When they were done? I almost cried at how well everything ran through my house. They even set me up so I had ethernet directly to my gaming PC, and direct into my TV and Xbox. I have not had a single issue since (beside Comcast caused outages), and have blazing fast wifi throughout the house (I pay for the gigaspeed Xfinity). I'm finally utilizing the speed as sold to me by Xfinity. Thanks so much BATH. I really appreciate it. I was super impressed with the emails, the invoices, techs being on time, and just the overall professionalism. It was worth the extra few bucks.

Since they seem to handle a lot of corporate-scale installations, I initially wondered if my project might be too small--but that concern disappeared pretty quickly. The team was already very familiar with Ubiquiti systems and was incredibly patient working with me despite my fairly basic understanding. They walked me through the tradeoffs and ultimately recommended stepping up from mid-range equipment to more professional-grade options. The reasoning was clear, the cost/benefit made sense, and at no point did I feel pressured--just well-advised. The actual Ethernet installation work was top-notch--smurf tubing, recessed (not sticking out!) enclosures, and everything. The level of craftsmanship and attention to detail is honestly beyond what I would normally expect (or even feel comfortable demanding from contractors). They went above and beyond without being asked, and the cable organization is immaculate. Huge thanks to Justin and John for their precision and quality of work, and to Jim and Rodrigo for their thoughtful recommendations on equipment and access point placement. If you're looking for a team that combines technical expertise with professionalism and genuine care, I'd absolutely recommend them.

I contacted two other low-voltage/networking companies before Wiztec and it was a mess: flaky scheduling, no-shows, refusal to visit the site, or acting like the request was "too hard" -- specifically once I mentioned CAT8 cable runs. One company essentially refused the job outright. (yeah yeah I know the speil about CAT8 overkill for a residential job but that's outside the scope of this conversation.) Wiztec was the opposite: they were professional, showed up, and treated the project like adults. Important context: Because this was a remodel, my GC ran the CAT8 cables in-wall, so Wiztec didn't do the physical cable pulling. But Wiztec handled the part that actually determines whether your network performs correctly: CAT8 terminations (jacks / keystones) Hardware procurement (they got the right gear -- no "random Amazon stuff") Camera install Full configuration + validation to ensure the network worked end-to-end at expected speeds And the best part: they didn't just install and disappear. They made multiple visits to make sure everything was correct and stable: Visit 1: Daniyar -- adjusted cabling / prep details Visit 2 (main install): Aidos + Vitaly Final visits (wrap-up): Aidos + Daniyar Huge shoutout to Aidos, who even came out solo to finish work and make sure everything was done right. What I appreciated most is that Wiztec didn't treat this like "just plug stuff in." They approached it correctly: - Ensured terminations were done cleanly (this is where speed issues and failures happen) - Configured equipment properly - Verified performance so the setup actually delivered what CAT8 infrastructure should deliver If you're investing in CAT8 and you want your network to perform like it should (and not like a glorified Wi-Fi extender), hire Wiztec. They're reliable, technically competent, and they finish the job correctly. one of my best friends is also doing a remodel, and I intend to recommend Wiztec to him too.

I…read morerecently brought a 2015 MacBook Air (which had tremendous sentimental value to me) to Luis for repair. First and foremost, the communication I had prior to my bringing the laptop to him was exceptional. He was very kind, listened to everything I had to tell him, and he was completely transparent in explaining the different approaches he could take. He explained in step by step detail the different things he could do after I told him what I was seeking in repairing my laptop. I appreciated that he would take the time to explain all of this to me. In addition, he was 100% transparent on the costs. This was very important to me, and Luis is truly an honest person who will explain and break down the costs for you. And I'll tell you this: for all the work he did on my laptop, his prices are more than fair. When it came time to the repair, and bringing the laptop to him- Luis was always super responsive and clear in his communications with me. After bringing the laptop to him, he kept in regular contact with me. Throughout the process, I felt that he was very considerate and communicative. When the laptop was ready for me to pickup, he allowed me the space and time while he was there with me to turn it on for myself and test it out to see that everything was exactly as he had said it would be. Indeed, he delivered 100% on repairing my MacBook. One thing which I also appreciate that he did was to clean the laptop with a wipe before returning it to me. This may seem like a small thing, but to me it's a big thing, and it just goes to show how much Luis values great customer service. Having the laptop now, I feel that it's like having a brand new laptop again. I know that Luis is supremely knowledgeable in all that he does for Mac repairs. He has a ton of expertise and knowledge, and if there's a problem with yours, he can either fix it, or tell you why he can't. He has been 100% professional, honest and transparent about everything in my dealings with him. His prices are fair, and he delivers. Luis has earned my trust, and for that reason, I can absolutely give him my unqualified recommendation to friends, family, or anyone who is in need of a Mac repair specialist.

Hate to write a negative review and truly confused by all the positive reviews. Luis was generally…read morekind but quick to anger, which was weird for me to have to manage/not walk on eggshells with him as part of his temperament and EXTREMELY FORGETFUL. He locked himself out immediately when I first met up with him with the keys on the bench we sat on inside and would repeat tons of information we already discussed and agreed on such as meeting time etc. His anger around why I wouldn't share my password felt unnecessary and seemed like he took it personally. These were already red flags and made me hesitate, but how he presented my problem felt like I needed help fast (water damage). This is all fine and I'm not judging him as a person (actually feel compassionate towards it), but these behaviors and unprofessionalism/difficulty working with him when I'm paying him and entrusting my $2.4k laptop to him is not something I should need to manage. He works out of his home as a solopreneur. His general navigation with the laptop when I went to get it was a strange mix similar to watching a somewhat computer illiterate elderly person navigate and be confused about how the external monitor/keyboard/etc connected and still worked/didnt work but have brief more clear glimpses/capabilities in repair in some cases and was insistent on driving/being the navigator slowly when I was simply trying to navigate so we could save his time. He was kind in trying to work with me since I did not want to share my password but again, it was somewhat tense due to this and I don't know how forgetful/careful he was during the work he actually did. This level of work needs a sort of clarity of mind and it did feel like I was working with an elderly person who wasn't clear all the time. Unfortunately he did the exact sort of cleaning method that permanently damaged my laptop further beyond repair (ultrasonic cleaning) and removes evidence of where the actual damaged parts are. He did not mention that this would potentially damage it further and also remove the possibility of fixing the board or I would not have agreed. This is an outdated technique and other shops said this did irreparable damage that made fixing the logic board impossible (they looked for a good 3 hrs). Luis actually convinced me that the logic board could not be repaired either way and the whole thing would need to be replaced if any part stopped working, so he lied about this directly. In fact he repeatedly emphasized that no one does any board repairs (completely made up fact) and cleaning was the only way to try else board replacement. He also did not test if my screen was damaged when this is a standard test at other shops and made it seem like it was not possible. The service basically rushed me to quickly get it more damaged. Luis called it a successful repair because the laptop still turned on and could be used with an external monitor (which was how it was before I sent it to him). That's not a success to me. I trusted his judgement and what he was sharing out of goodwill and regret it. Unfortunately I paid in cash and he would not refund me a single cent. Please do your due diligence of researching everything he says and probably/definitely go elsewhere. I am a v clear headed person unlike him, so he also remembers incorrectly (for example I did end up using icloud sync and he cant remember this, which is a random detail he mentioned for no reason). And I know for sure he mentioned that even Apple does not do microsoldering, to imply that no one does and on n on about this and how it doesn't work well. I paid $225 (which I had to bargain down from 250 because again to me my laptop still doesnt work) and had to get my logic board replaced elsewhere for $950 when it could've been a much cheaper fix. The other shops were surprised at how amateur the work was with sophisticated ai generated reports detailing the work. whatever rate of success he mentioned should not mean it actually makes things worse. pictures beforehand dont undo the damage of removing microcomponents washed away. There was no threat from my end, I just stated I would be sharing my real review (that I felt inclined to write even without any final hiccups) and this was after a lot of back and forth trying to reach any middle-ground with 0 offer to refund even a single cent, so what he replied with is completely inaccurate- he would have certainly not refunded me under any circumstances, not just cuz I mentioned a review ofc. Here it is, and I think I am a very fair reviewer. A discerning person can see his deflection (he edited it). Again, I am not judging him as a person but as a business owner I'm paying to be professional and dependable and accountable. That failed. Gaps are addressed by being accountable to damage you've done, not any other way. Accountability here is a refund and apology for the costly oversights. Do not work with this immature and forgetful person full of excuses.
