I came here for two years in high school to get my teeth straightened only because my mom had heard recommendations from her coworkers and Warren Lee was one of the most expensive orthodontics around. I think the entirety of my two years cost over $5000 some how even though I felt that he perhaps rushed the job (since at the time many of my friends had to have braces for over 3 years, I only had them on for 1.5 year). He is nice, a good talker, but tries to smooth over details and force you to spend more money than you really need while telling you that he doesn't want you to spend more money than you need. Meeting him is an utterly different experience than actually receiving orthodontic care from him. He is very nice initially but becomes irritated or annoyed later on if you complain too much or have some issues that you want to bring up. I don't know that I was the biggest fan of his work but now I am stuck using his services since he has all my corrective files and is the only person who can really provide retainer services for my teeth for future years to come. I came here 10 years ago. It was the worst decision I have made in my life. I am suffering and regret everyday. I don' know how I can bear this issue in my rest life. when my mouth is closed, I feel my face is not relaxed. At First, I was planning to do implants due to missing teeth, but my spaces were not big enough. I have heard good recommendations from my dentist So I went to see him to expand the spaces. He suggested me to close the gaps without implanting my missing teeth. He told me many benefits for not doing implants. He suggested me to use braces to close the gaps. But he didn't tell me any side effects could happen. I was going to have treatment from him anyway. II trusted him completely. So I went for his decision. About 2 years, my gaps were not closed completely, he terminated my treatment. The plan of the treatment was totally a big mistake. I am suffering over bite. my face calliopes. and I so frequently bite my tongue and check position in my mouth . My initial a small problem was made an irreversible big issue. Yeah don't go here guys, I went to him from 5th grade till 9th grade, he's nothing but trouble, every time I went he would complain about how I have plaque on my teeth (yes I was a little kid back then and I needed to brush my teeth better) but he never focused on the actual reason I was there to see him, to get my teeth straightened. We spent over 10 grand at his place for a full package treatment, in the end I had to go to another ortho, and he took care of me with less money and less pain. With Warren Lee I had headgear, braces, 3-4 sorts of retainers and my teeth were still like a chipmunk. Don't waste your money, find another ortho. read more

I agree with Jon T. I had braces through him and it was the worst experience ever. It was suppose to be a two year process. He ignored my complaints of pain and soreness and tightened the braces too much. It ended up a one year process. He even congratulated himself on his expertise. What a bullshit! I went to Dr. Lee when I was a young little second grader who unfortunately had an incredilby awful case of crooked teeth. Having worked with Dr. Lee from second grade to eighth grade with fixing my teeth and continuing to see him for some routine checkups now that I'm in college, I can say without a doubt that Dr. Lee is one solid orthodontist. The thing with being an orthodontist is that it's easy for kids to dislike you; whether it be from the pains of being stabbed in the mouth while installing braces or even that weird pain when the braces are being removed--orthopedics is a hard practice. Dr. Lee always gave me extremely consistent and clear instructions regarding my dental practices during the time I had braces. He gave me a clear list of things I couldn't eat, and as long as I followed his instructions, I was perfectly fine. I never ran into any issues while working with Dr. Lee as long as I took care of his hygiene instructions (which were fairly reasonable). Sure he may be expensive, but let's be serious, all orthodontists are expensive, and spending that money on the level of care that Dr. Lee offers is absolutely worth it. read more

If you ever thought people who work on teeth were the most daunting people on earth, think again. Dr. Warren Lee shows exemplary professionalism and at the same time amicability; he's honestly one of the most social and friendly orthodontists I've met. And believe me, I've met about a dozen before I chose to go with Dr. Lee. What's also astounding is his staff, they're always in a good mood in the office and they show real experience and understanding of their profession. His methods of correcting teeth also seems to be the best out of all of those I have auditioned. It was MUCH less invasive (some doctors wanted to shave parts of my teeth to make more room, others wanted teeth to be removed) and most reasonable in pricing. This does not mean it's the cheapest, but for literally the best quality of service in the bay area, I believe every penny was worth treatment from him. For those who do not believe me, all you have to do is ask the doctor and he will have an answer for you- don't be scared! With any type of service, the only downfall in high quality businesses is lack of consumer participation. Get to know his method, make sure you know what you want and get it across. As for the results, I am quite satisfied with the two-year alignment. I definitely have more confidence in my smile now. Unlike others who want to save time to fit in more clients, he doesn't rush the process. Even without the invasive treatment, he was able to straighten out all of my teeth when others said it was too crowded. I give him five stars because I know that within a 30 mile radius of his office, he is the best orthodontist, and that's saying a lot in the bay. read more

I got my braces done here 4 years ago, and I got to say, Dr. Lee and his nurses have done such an amazing job! 4 years later, my teeth are still as straight as they were before. Dr. Lee was alwasy very friendly and easy to talk to, as were his nurses. They made me feel very comfortable and let me know what was going on the whole time. Even though I haven't gone back for a few years after I got my braces taken off, they still remember me and welcomed me back with kindness when I went back recently to get new retainers. Everyone in his office took really good care of me at every one of my appointments and I never left unhappy. Dr. Warren Lee is a friendly, skillful and experienced expert. His team is also excellent. My son Sam has a serious orthodontic problem. We realize that it is necessary to take a long time to fix his problem step by stop. Starting from the beginning, Dr. Lee assures us that he is able to help out. He is very patient with Sam, and encourages him a lot. He constantly explains the gradual progress of Sam's teeth. After four years of the process, Sam's teeth is lined up properly, and have a great smile. He is more confident than before. Dr. Lee fulfills what he promises. I haven't gone to another ortho, so I can't comment whether he's professional or not. He finally can straighten my teeth, but not in a very perfect way. There are still some minor gaps, but when i told him about it, he said that's the way! His staff is very polite and friendly, but not him. It all depends on his mood. Sometimes he wears big smiles to you, but sometimes he looks mad, I don't know why. Overall, he's not so friendly. If I knew other's referral, I wouldn't have chosen him. read more

I've been meaning to write Dr. Lee a Yelp review for a while, and I finally got around to it. Dr. Lee was my orthodontist when I was in middle school. I had my braces for 1.5 years, which was pretty short compared to the duration of my friends' treatments. However, as a negligent child, I didn't mind that I only had to wear those metallic teeth jail cell bars for 1.5 years. And yes indeed was I a negligent child. I wore my retainers for about a year (and didn't clean them very well because all that white calcium gunk started building up on it), and after a few weeks of forgetfulness, they didn't fit all together. I thought, oh well, my teeth are looking good. Correction: "were" looking good. Fast forward to 2011 when my dad tells me that I am covered by his health insurance plans until I'm 24--yay! He's switched companies by this point, so he recommends that if I want to get braces again, I should get them now before politicians decide to screw with legislature again. With a new insurance plan, my teeth are eligible for some more time in the teeth slammer. I scheduled a few consultations with different orthodontists in the Bay Area. They were all nice and polite, except that their treatment prices were as expensive as one semester of UC Berkeley tuition (at least what it was in 2008). No, I didn't need a full set of braces; no, I didn't need Invisalign for $2000 more; no, I didn't want to wear braces for another 2 years. And that's where Dr. Lee came in to the picture. I sheepishly went in for my consultation, and I told him that I hadn't worn my retainers for many years, which is why I was looking for corrective orthodontic work. He did an evaluation and came up with a plan: one set of lower jaw metal braces that spanned my front teeth and my back molars for approximately 6 months with Invisalign retainers afterwards. He told me that my top set of teeth were decently straight, and if I fixed my lower jaw, the top jaw would mesh perfectly. Total cost: around $1900. Bingo. Scheduling monthly visits were painless, as this Fremont location is open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. I've had to reschedule a few times, and Mrs. Lee (yep, wife as the receptionist) is accommodating and polite. They operate in their Cupertino location on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, which I have also visited for a monthly check-up while running around with my private tutoring sessions. Their dental staff (Mimi and Fay) pack up and travel with them between both sites, and those ladies are incredibly friendly, kind, and amiable. They'll make small talk with you as you get into your seat and chat with you about their day. And I swear that they haven't aged since the first time I met them 8 years ago c: My braces were removed in December, and I was given my Invisalign retainers. He also offered me permanent retainers (a bar that is glued to the back of your teeth), but I didn't want to have to pay for a replacement if I broke it (with hardcore flossing, byahh!!!). Plus, I learned my lesson about not wearing my retainers, so I trusted myself not to make the same mistake twice :P With regards to patient care from the doctor himself, Dr. Lee is, in all honesty, a bit condescending. He's a great guy, and he knows his trade well enough to fix your teeth quickly and cost-effectively, but sometimes he does talk down to his patients. I'm not sure what it was like when I was 13, but I imagine it was much different than now, where he sees me as an educated college student ready to tackle the world. In any case, he still gives your teeth the attention they need, and if he's too busy with other patients, you can always ask Mimi and Fay c: Other notes: both Dr. Lee and Mrs. Lee speak good English, but they commonly speak Chinese with their patients. Sometimes he'll throw a Chinese phrase at me, which I usually don't know, and then we'll have a funny conversation about the English translation. Also, their waiting area is full of a variety of magazines and children's books and comics. I think I saw Shonen Jump in there, which I thought was super awesome to the max. And before your visit, you're welcome to use their sink to brush your teeth. They provide complimentary tooth brushes! No toothpaste though, so don't come in with onion breath. And come to your visit early; I usually arrived on-time or 5 minutes late, and he is booked back-to-back on Saturdays. Expect to wait 10 - 15 minutes to be seated in a dentist chair, and then another 5 - 10 minutes to be seen. The place gets good sunlight though, and he has two turtles in a tank for your amusement. A word to the wise for all orthodontic patients: floss your teeth. With metal braces, it's annoying as f***, but if you don't do it, your teeth will be discolored and icky. Floss for your health and for your looks! At the end of the day, Dr. Lee is a good orthodontist. He's a very knowledgeable orthodontist, that's for sure, but he's a total twat. There are other educated orthodontists out there, so do not go to this one. Be sure to not catch him when he's in a bad mood. He yanks out your braces and pressures them in at full force without any consideration at how uncomfortable those feel. I could see the embarrassment on the assistant's face when she saw what was happening to me, and she apologized in the doctor's stead. Also, he's nice at first when you're still paying for the visits. When you've paid it in full, but your procedure is still not completed, he completely ignores you, does a shitty job, and is complete dick. In full: go to another one. Every orthodontist is qualified to do a good job, and this one shouldn't be. Go to this one if you don't mind your ortho being a complete knob. read more

I was very pleased with the overall two-year experience I had at Dr. Warren Lee's office. The staff was very courteous and inviting, and the results were excellent. This orthodontist definitely knows what he is doing, and he had dramatically improved the way my face look. The money that my parents had spent for the braces was totally worth it, as the end results have improved my confidence and changed my life. The only thing I agree with the previous commentor Jon T. is that Dr. Lee does tend to give you advice on oral health that went beyond straightening teeth, but that's a good thing! Dr Lee was introduced to us by our dentist because her son used the service provided by Dr Lee, and apparently she liked him. With my own experience of my kids, I would say I am very glad that we went to Dr. Lee. And I would recommend him without any hesitation. Both my kids went through the process with Dr Lee. My younger one's case was more difficult - his gap between upper and lower teeth was over 10mm, and the profile was like he's having no jar. When it's done, he is such a handsome young man, his profile could not be more perfect! The combined time we spent there are about 5 years. At the end, it is like a visit to friend/family whenever the appointment time came. Dr Lee got two office locations, one in Fremont, and the other in Cupertino which are very convenient for most people in the bay area. The Fremont office we went to is very clean, quiet, and friendly, the two staffs they got are both very, very nice. Dr Lee got good skills. According to our dentist, she got patients from other orthodontist doctor once a while whose teeth was pushed too much which got root problems, but she never got any such patients from Dr Lee. As far as I know, Dr Lee does not make any advertising effort. He "promotes" his business in the old fashion way - mouth of patients. I thought warren lee and his staff were extremely friendly and very accommodating. I had warren for the 2 year process and never had any issues with him not being professional. Any complaints of discomfort were quickly addressed. And like Jon T, I did get complaint at the beginning of the process that I wasn't brushing well and asked warren to show me. After that, he never complained and my regular dentist even complimented on how clean my teeth were every time I went in for a check up. Overall experience was great. I no longer look like Bubba and my teeth had straightened with all the gaps closed. I would recommend him to others. read more

I've seen many orthodontists before I chose Dr Lee. I'm glad that I made right choice because Dr Lee did great job on my teeth! His office is very clean and nice. His staffs are also very friendly and professional. Every time I come in to my appointments, they all have smiles on their faces. I recently got my braces off. Back in late 2008, when I was told by my dentist that I need a root extrusion on a previously crown-treated tooth, I was referred to seek for Dr. Lee's opinion. At first, he spent time to communicated with my dentist in great details, and after he understood all the concern, he explained to me what the procedure would be like, and what are the different options that is available to me. Since I didn't receive any orthodontic treatment when I was young (I am 40+ now), I decided to do go for full braces so I will get all my teeth straightened. Now 2 years has passed and my braces is off, I am very happy about the result and I am glad I made the right decision at that time. During the 2-year treatment, I always feel pleasant when talking to Dr. Lee. Being an engineer, I am always curious to find out the reason behind every operation. And Dr. Lee was always happy to share his knowledge and went it to great details about how and why he did every step. His staffs are also the topnotch: skillful and friendly. I came to this place with a bad case of overbite, and was very satisfied with my experience here! Dr. Lee is clearly experienced in orthodontics and has lots of training in this field. I had braces for about 4 years, and Dr. Lee worked well throughout this time. My teeth look 10 times better than they did before! I'm not afraid to smile with my teeth in pictures anymore! The staff was also very kind, and would make sure none of the wires were poking me or whatnot. They answered my questions to the best of their abilities, and were very gentle. Just recently, I had broken my retainer and came back to this place to see if I could get a new one. The staff was still as great as before, and Dr. Lee was able to get me a new retainer for both the top and the bottom. I received consultation from 4 Orthodontists and decided to go with Dr Warren. My considerations are price and feasibility. Dr. Lee offered reasonable pricing and went through the treatment plan with me. He was straight forwards and laid out what can or cannot be done. His office is clean and properly decorated. His staff, Sophie, Mimi and Fay are extremely nice people. It's easy to make appointments with Dr Lee and Sophie always tries to be flexible for me. Mimi and Fay are experienced and considerate. They know what can be hurting and always alerts me what next step is so I never felt surprised about what's happening today. My treatment was done a month ago. I'm very happy with the results. I think my investment in time and money is worthy. I would highly recommend Dr Warren Lee. In fact, I just hope Dr Lee won't retire any time soon; my 5-year-old son may need his help in the fiture. read more

I went to Dr. Lee to get my braces when I was in Jr. High. Him and his assistants are wonderful! He fixed the alighment of my teeth at a great timing as he had promised. If I was in pain, he would tell me to indicate or raise my hand when I felt uncomfortable. After my braces, I decided to go back to him to get new retainers because I had accidenty lost mine. When I entered the building, everyone in the building remembered me and greeted me like I have never left after 3 years after their service. if all the doctors said it is a mission impossible and your child needs a surgery for sure, then you should go to Dr Warren Lee. Four years ago my wife and i took our daughter Ivy visiting and consulting around four Orthodontists in East Bay. Her teeth were incredibly disarrayed and it needs more than an engineering effort. All the doctors said she needed a surgery to have her head opened. That was scary, with the enormous money to spend, not to mention the risk involved. Luckily we found Dr Lee who is willing to take our case without having to go for surgery. Due to the extreme difficulties, it took almost 4 years to come to the finish line. The result is unbelievable and perfect, and my wife Sophy and I could not believe our eyes.
