I've been a swimmer my whole life, and love a good stretchy yoga class, but realized that I was kidding myself when I believed I was doing well enough in my work out habits. Two days after getting engaged, I decided this was my perfect kick in the pants to finally try private pilates sessions (#bridalbootcamp). After perusing through websites of local Pilates instructors, Nona seemed great. And y'all, SHE IS. She is such a warm, compassionate person who genuinely loves what she does. But don't let that fool you - she is the toughest personal trainer I've ever had. For being so tiny and cute, she is terrifyingly creative with the equipment and makes any swim workout I did back in the day seem like elderly aerobics. However, don't let that intensity deter you - as someone who hates group classes ("Seriously? It's only been three minutes?"), gets bored with anything but swimming, and can come up with an impressively diverse list of excuses to miss a workout, I love love LOVE my weekly sessions with Nona (I even convinced my mom to do duet sessions with me so that I could afford going twice a week). That said, even though at one point the price seemed steep, I now consider it worth every penny - it is an hour of one-on-one, incredibly personalized training. The hour flies by, I'm grinning ear to ear by the end, and I always struggle to walk down her stairs after. While swimming has been my cardio of choice, Pilates by Nona is now my nonnegotiable strength training. In the nine sessions I've seen her, I can already feel SUCH a difference in my body. I actually see noticeable tone, which motivates me to keep going back. And - random tidbit that I feel is important to note - because I'm feeling so excited about the change, I find myself incorporating more healthy habits like salads, smoothies, and water. Several years ago my family went through something very traumatic that left me holding on mentally for dear life. So physically I went downhill and gained a lot of weight. I tried other gyms and other trainers to help me out of my rut over the years. I tried many diets too. Nothing clicked. None of it helped physically AND mentally. It only seemed to help physically which would lead me in a downward spiral mentally after a few short weeks. BBD works with all ages and all athletic abilities. They require you to commit for the long haul. No more fads, no more trying to get skinny. It's about building a new and improved you from the inside out while also seeing physical results that follow. Fred has taught me a whole new way to workout that has given me so much more confidence than I thought possible. My only regret is not finding this place sooner! They really know their stuff especially when it comes to preventing injury and they work closely with you to modify the work out if you have preexisting injuries. This year I joined Fred's crew and he checked in frequently on my preexisting back and knee issues. We made sure to modify movements like lunges and dead lifts to movements that worked out the same muscle group but didn't aggravate my back and knees. Now that those muscle groups are much stronger I can do much more than I have ever been able to in the gym. The small group training format gives you the feel and attention of a personal trainer but is much more affordable. I moved away 3 years ago and when I came back I was at my heaviest I have ever been. BBD welcomed me back with open arms. I dropped a lot of weight, I feel better than ever, and I can't stop checking myself out in the mirror. I would give BBD 6 stars if I could.

David pretended to be "processing" my refund through a "refund department" on April 13. On April 30 he says "we are still working on it". That refund never came.Stealing from your clients during a pandemic is not a good luck. I let that one slide. But then it happened again in July. And again now a year later, They continue to randomly charge me even though I have no business relationship with them. I am tired of having to call the bank to have them reverse charges. Did I mention that they have done the same to my gf? I will bet there are many former customers who are similarly situated. Once they have your card number (which I never authorized for them to keep) they will keep charging you , even a year later!
