We discovered this place after getting coffee next door. Came here for Valentine's Day and it was a pretty good experience. We were seated at the bar and it was nice to see them make the different dishes. Yuzu sake spritz - 2/5 it tasted rather watered down to me so I didn't taste much of anything Yuzu sake on the rocks - 4/5 the much better option if you're in between drink choices. Good yuzu flavor. Tuna crudo - 3.5/5 it was milder in flavor but the crisp of the bread was really nice. Some might think it is too crispy but I looove crispy stuff so I found it enjoyable Salmon crudo - 3.5/5 good dish but the salmon texture was a little rougher than I'd like. The flavor is good though Scallops crudo - 4/5 the truffle on top of the scallops was so good. Brought a lot of truffle flavor which I enjoyed a lot - skip if you do not like truffle Tuna toro tartare - 4.5/5 I was super surprised by this dish. It ended up being my favorite of the night. The jalapeño pieces were my favorite part; it added flavor I wasn't expecting Mushrooms: 3/5 it was fine but nothing crazy standout to me. I think the mushrooms were missing a touch of salt to bring out the umami flavor. I didn't love the bread this dish came with Chowder: 4/5 the chowder was great! I enjoyed this a lot and I was surprised my bf enjoyed this one too (he's not a big fan of cooked seafood). I would definitely get this again. Overall, great dining experience. I'd come back for the scallops, tuna toro tartare and the chowder.

Wow! What a place! My stomach and derriere have been holding me hostage lately, with only raw fish being able to reason with them (for some reason) so I decided to wander in. You know when People really love their jobs?! Well fair enough maybe you dont know, and that's legit, but anyway people really seem to love their jobs here. Food is transcendent! Staff is so helpful and knowledgeable!! Vibes are immaculate! Also Alyse was super helpful and attentive and had the best recommendations! I came in for happy hour, and it was banger after banger. Some of the best shrimp cocktail, I've ever had. Fantastic oysters! BEST MUSSELS EVER!! So much yes!! so little time!

Dined in on Wednesday for happy hour (5-6pm) We ordered a dozen oysters, mini albacore tataki, 2 orders of tuna toro tartare, albacore cheesy toast, cured caesar salad, hokkaido scallop crudo, and the bluefin tuna crudo with the cowboy up Couldn't go wrong with everything we ordered! The oysters were really good! The tuna toro tarter was so delicious, we ordered two of those! It was my boyfriend's favorite! We don't usually order the salad but the caesar salad was surprisingly delicious! My favorite was the bluefin tuna crudo (cowboy up!), covered in wagyu juices. The 8 things we ordered were enough to fill us up. The server recommends you order 5-7 things for a full meal. Everything tasted really fresh. I enjoyed sitting by the bar and watching the chefs create your dishes.

Happy hour all day Tuesday We had a dozen oysters, hamachi crudo, chowder, potatoes, scallops, the bread with butter, heirloom tomato salad, and caesar salad. I loved the caesar salad and the milk & cookie for dessert. They also have a secret menu which you have to ask for or it's not so secret anymore. I would come back again.

I'm a big fan of raw bars and oysters and this place impressed me. From food to service to ambiance, every detail felt intentional. Don't forget to sit at the chefs bar to witness the quiet alchemy unfold. So good!

Cured Fish Bar opened recently where Livermore Dance Centre once was. Limited parking on site. A few spaces around the back. Indoor seating only. Assume total renovation done. Minimal decor. Vanilla walls. Some artifacts on shelf behind bar. Quickly seated at once of few tables available. Other option-seating at bar. Offerings: mostly house made sodas, wines, beers. Only eats: Chirashi don, wagyu beef Takiki. The good stuff is all for dinner. Slurps: Miso soup-come with Chirashi don -uber flavorful from miso . Housemade. Not the premade version most sushi places serve. No tofu/seaweed. Just a few green onions slices. Got refill. Cured Chirashi Don (28) -sushi rice was the most flavorful ever tasted. Had strong rice vinegar taste, probably imported. -dozen+ small pieces of fresh trout, blue fin tuna (Mex.), albacore, hamachi augmented by cured salmon roe, egg ribbons. Sesame, nori, shiso flavored cucumber slices, house pickles, seasoned soy sauce. -each bite slowly savored, an intense Unami filled adventure. Wagyu beef tataki (15) 4 slices -sourced from Masami Ranch. Corning, Ca. -tasted better medium rare cuts of fillet mignon. -very tender, nuanced profile from seared beef marinated with ponzu, chive, kanzuri. *kanzuri sourced from Myoko, Japan. Made from fermented red chilies, yuzu rind, rice kogi. (Ai Overview) 5 stars Worthy:YMMV Quality: Great-top ingredients used. Quantity: reasonable. Small portions typical of high end eateries.

This is a relatively new restaurant in Livermore. The owner did a great job making us feel welcome. He had a very good understanding about the craziness in the sushi supply chain. He even has a deep freeze for some fish to keep it fresh per FDA recommendations. All of the fresh sashimi was prepared with various sauces and ingredients. At the end of the day we didn't need to request soy sauce and ginger since all of the items were prepared with flavors that didn't require additional flavors. The restaurant is small and the owners brings in fresh fish that they can sell. As such they have a limited menu. The restaurant has a nice vibe between staff. They even have king salmon that can be prepared by searing using a blow torch (see other Yelp reviews videos). If you are in the mood to step out of the normal sushi atmosphere, which has many fish kinds, give them a try.

I love this place, but what you get is disproportionate to the amount you pay. However, the food... scrumptious. There aren't that many restaurants that I love in this area, but this is def one of my favorites and I recommend for special occasions. All the food is amazing! Love with a glass of white. Also beer flight on the menu. Strange to say about a place that's known for raw fish but one of my favorite dishes is the mushroom dish--lol. The staff is super cool, friendly and fun to converse with, and they really make you feel welcome at this restaurant! It's a pretty casual place that's also nice, clean and modern for dates and gatherings (I feel like most of the restaurants in our area are pretty dated). Be thoroughly warned though, the plates are ultra, ultra tiny and you will be starving after you order five dishes with your partner (and I am an avid fine dining restaurant goer so I KNOW small dishes). We had to go to In-N-Out afterwards. If they ever reduce prices or increased the quantity of food slightly I would literally be there all the time. Like, live there.

Adding the 4 stars to balance out my review to get it to 4.5 stars. Don't know why Yelp can't do .5's in reviews.

My wife and I were really impressed by Cured Fish Bar. Like most sushi lovers, we're a little snobby about which restaurants we even give a chance, but the reviews were great so we had high hopes. We reserved a table for our anniversary and were seated immediately as it was just a couple days after new years so as expected not a busy time for restaurants. Bar was full but dining area pretty empty. The spot has good vibes enhanced by a great music playlist of RnB and some slaps that had our heads bobbin. Waitress broke down the menu since it was our first visit. Very thorough briefing without overdoing it. Also appreciated the accommodations they were prepared to make (Tamari instead of soy sauce, rice cracker instead of toast for the tartare, etc) for my gluten allergy. Each dish arrived nicely spread out giving us time to savor the visual presentation and the flavors and sip on our smooth and tasty house sake. DIY Handrolls - came with four mini sheets of seaweed, rice and hamachi for us to make our own rolls. They were yummy. Tuna Toro Tartare - nice King salmon - smackin Toro Special - wooo our favorite and the black truffle on top was brilliant Roasty Toasty Mushrooms - liked it, different and creative with the egg yolk. Special Off Menu / Hamachi Kama - big yellowtail collar with lots of deliciousness. We are excited to go back on a future date night and see how the menu changes. Compliments to the staff all around for making our thirteenth a great one

I'd heard a lot of great things about Cured Fish Bar--mainly that it's amazing but definitely on the pricier side. And yep, that's true. The food is fresh and flavorful, but the portions are more tapas-style, so you won't get full without spending a good amount. We tried a few dishes: - Wingen Bread - $6. My first time trying bread from Wingen! - Bluefin Crudo $20 (Cowboy Up! +$5) - Halibut Crudo $20 - Pink Moon Oysters ($4.50/piece) - Littleneck Clams ($2/piece) - Asahi Beer, $8 The Bluefin Crudo (Cowboy Up!) was definitely the highlight for me--so fresh and flavorful, I would go back just for that! I would skip the little neck clams, they were listed as oysters on the menu but now makes sense they were a bit too fishy and salty for my taste. Most of the dishes start at around $20 and usually come with a few pieces of fish, I think ours came with like 4 pieces? so it can get pretty pricey if you're planning on getting a full meal. The decor inside is sleek, modern, and minimalistic--really loved the clean vibe, which made the whole dining experience feel stylish and relaxed. They have happy Hour from 5pm-6pm, Tues, Wed. Thurs so may wanna check that out. It's not a place where you'll leave feeling stuffed unless you're ready to spend a decent amount, but if you're in the mood for high-quality seafood in a beautiful setting, Cured Fish Bar is a great choice.

    Chilled marinated mussels

A must try in Livermore if you love seafood! Cured Fish Bar is a cozy restaurant that offers array of raw bites alongside with oysters, crudos and other delicious stuff! Menu changes every day depending on availability but delicious nonetheless! They have a few featured wines/sakes/beers that pair well with the seafood as well as events such as sushi Sunday and dollar oysters (yes, a dollar !!) + be on the look out for their events so you're updated ! Though I wouldn't call myself a masters of knowing everything about oysters-- I will admit I am very particularly with them! So I was more than pumped hearing that the featured dollar were just how I like my oysters ! Small, plump and briny! A forever 10/10 in my books. Next up, I had the chance to try their chilled marinated mussels. Cooked in a red wine vinegar sauce-- mussels were delicious served with a side of warm bread. Last thing we ordered was their cured cesar salad made with a fish sauce cesar dressing which was so delicious! Fish sauce is delicious and adds so much umami to any dish as well as a staple in Asian cuisine. The toasted panko and panko were a sweet treat alongside with it. Lettuce was not soggy from the dressing-- it still had that crunch to it! Service was also out of this world. The server was knowledgeable and so fun to talk to! Everyone is attentive and so down to earth ! Ordered a glass of their brut to pair with all my dishes and safe to say I was a happy camper. I can't wait to go back and try more of their dishes! Few things to note, because of the small space that they do have, reservations are encouraged so you're assured you have a spot here! A solid 10 in my books!

Is this place suitable to dine with an infant? Are there high chairs?

We do not offer a child’s menu but yes we have a high chair available :)

Is this a 21 and up establishment or can a 19 year old enjoy as well?

Of course! The place is intimate so probably not the best place for little ones.

Are the oysters part of the happy hour menu only?

You can get oysters on the regular menu. They have a few kinds ranging from $2 to $4.50/oyster. Happy Hour, it is $2/oyster but I believe it is only one kind. Not sure which one or if it's a different one not on reg. Menu.

The rice to meat ratio were balanced so you get to actually taste them without getting just a mouthful of rice. I stray away from the fried foods and noodles because I want to focus more on the sushis and rolls. Tuna Tataki were soft, tangy, and cleanses your palette. Baked Unagi roll, though it states that it'll take 20 mins wait, we didn't notice it since our orders came one after another. Ordered the usual sushi fare like Dragon Roll, Spider Roll, and Rainbow Roll. Angry roll which has Tuna, salmon, and topped with spicy mayo had the right enough spice that will not overwhelm you if you can't handle spicy food. We also like to steer away from the usual to try another menu fare and explore our taste buds. They have a self-serve salad, sauces, and fruit bar so you can get as much as your heart's desire on these. They were very attentive and kept checking on us, so our orders kept coming. If you're one of those people who wanted to try different types of sushi, rolls and sashimis then this is the place to go to.
