My nasty, dirty, Jeep covered in Husky Great Pyrenees hair was made sparkling clean with the mini detail. I wasn't convinced of buying the year long cleaning package until I picked the Jeep back up and saw how nice it was. I went back today to use my cleaning package a week later and they cleaned up all the dirt and hair in about 25 minutes and I was in my way, so easy! You can bring your laptop and work inside in the AC, which makes it easy to knock out your car cleaning during the work day. read more

I have been going to Washaroo Hand Car Wash for over 15 years. (It's changed hands a few times) I pull up today, the prices are printed on a big sign in front of the building. The guy tries to quick sell me a $100 wash package that is just a basic with wheel and interior dressing. I say no, I'll just do the regular wash and vac today, just the basics. Then he hits me with $45 + $10 vac fee for SUV. After politely reminding him that I can see the prices on top of the garage he tries tap dancing saying since it doesn't say 'SUV' the prices are different. One of those, you just lost a lifetime customer because of your dishonesty. I don't expect discounts or special pricing, just want you to be honest and clear upfront. I won't return to this business and remind my friends to try and do the same. Too bad, even though it's never been the BEST wash in town, they were always honest, friendly and reasonable. read more

A local wash and detail with a subscription program that also has beer on tap while you wait! Amazing. Scheduled my appointment and during the exchange I signed up for their program so I can wash anytime I want. It's like others but the local vibe makes me prefer this over some of the others. These guys do good work and the locals queue up which got me considering when I'd pass on occasion here in East Austin. Beer! Yep, 512 with a get it yourself attitude which is great since they are busy. I love the music, and misting fans while you wait. If you prefer not to wait here they are close to La Holly and some other great spots to hold you over until they call you. I can't say enough good things about Washaroo. It was by far the best deep cleaning of the interior of my car. It was the closest, my 2009 Honda Civic could get to looking new. And the exterior, the outside, was pristine. The guys were friendly and really helpful and I got to sit outside at the picnic table and work while they took care of my car. Do not buy the annual package. They sell you on convenience and you can get your car washed as many times as you want in the year. However, I bought the package five months ago and due to lines, them being closed when it rains, them being closed on Mondays, it has been very difficult to get any car wash. At this rate, I will spend $200 per car wash if I get two in 12 months. I highly recommend going somewhere else for carwashes. I will say when they do the car wash it is quality work but they simply have no ability to fit you in. read more

Getting my car back from getting it detailed is one of the best feelings, and I'm so disappointed that didn't happen today. Came here to get 2 vehicles fully detailed and waxed. The guys at the front were super courteous and nice, but bro- they didn't clean the interior of either car. The outside of both cars were clean, and the interior looked like they ran a vacuum on the floor mats, but it still had hella hair and dirt on it. It looks like they didn't wipe ANYTHING down inside, it was like they ran a dry cloth over everything quickly, which wasn't sufficient for either dirty car. My passenger side seat was left scooted all the way up, and they didn't even take the seat covers off, just left them half ass on both the seats lmao. I hate leaving one star reviews because we are all out here just trying to make it. But, seriously?... DO NOT come here if you want an interior detail. Pics attached for both cars. $200 wasted on a simple exterior wash for 2 cars. What an unbelievable waste of time and money. I booked an appointment online for a $30 super wash. After showing up at the agreed time, I waited in line, then came to the attendant, who proceeded to engage in some major salesmanship. It all culminated in a quote that was over three times the amount shown when I booked online. After I said that was too expensive, I had to attempt backing out of the lot with two other cars in line behind me. Not a good experience at all, and I do not recommend it unless you're ready to pay $100 or more. Bottom line: The website needs to be much clearer on the pricing and I didn't appreciate the huge upsell. read more

We opted for a full interior detail since we haven't had our car washed in 4 years. We live in the area so it was super convenient for us to drop by. Eric, one of the assistant managers, told us it would take 1.5 hours so went to grab coffee at Greater Goods (5 minute walk away). When we returned, our car was waiting for us in great condition. It felt really clean and we are very pleased. Ty, the manager, mentioned that they had an annual or 6 month unlimited car wash service for $500 or $300 respectively and that he would throw in the detail for free if we signed up immediately. We only drive once a week so it didn't make sense for us but we definitely plan to return and don't mind paying retail for their services. Highly recommend! read more

Just got my car washed here today after having seen this place when I'm in the area. Paid $45 for interior exterior but was mainly wanting exterior. Really should've just run it through the car wash I usually go to and handled it myself. Had just come off a road trip and specifically mentioned the dead bugs. Guy in charge said they would do their best and that part I understand. But when they called me over and said it was done in what seemed like an unusually short amount of time I had to point out they had left a lot of bugs in the grill, then I had to point out where the bugs were still in the well for the lights, then I had to point out where there were still parts of the hood that had been missed and eventually I felt like a Karen and just gave up and said thanks. I've had my car hand washed quite a bit in the past and I don't expect perfection but when I get home to the parking garage and notice there are quite a bit of water spots on top of parts they seem to have missed I feel like I've been cheated. Anytime I get my car washed I walk around to make sure so that I know what I'm tipping but usually it's minimal. Like I said, this time I just gave up and gave the tip money to a homeless lady on riverside (no exaggeration). I don't expect them to fix it I just won't go back. More recently I have just been washing my own car and it usually cost $14. This time since I had a road trip and a had a detail in between I figured I would leave it to professionals. I'm better off saving $30 and just doing it myself. Live and learn. read more

Hands down the best value in the city. Like you should drive from Westlake to go here. The people are friendly and helpful. They've been able to clean things that nobody else has been able to tackle. And my grandfather would have loved the VIP pass. That man hand washed his car every week (he had a garage--it wasn't *that* dirty) because he wanted it to be well cared for. These guys do *that* good of a job. It doesn't usually take as long as you'd expect, either. 30 minutes or so and you can sit in the shade on an "Austin-cool" green picnic table or walk over to Veracruz and back. read more

I had high hopes for this place based of the reviews and the price i paid for my service ($220 + tip). Don't get me wrong the inside of my car was spotless except for a smudge on my window. However they used a greasy dressing and coating it on thick. I almost couldn't turn my steering wheel it was so bad. There's no need to add this after cleaning and i wish they hadn't. I also noticed after driving away the rip in my driver side window tint. Not sure what they did or used but very disappointed. I have to go back remove the dressing, and get my tint redone. read more

Upon arrival, spoke with Eric who made my experience the best - Eric answered all of my questions and broke down some of the membership plans in detail - no BS just a straight breakdown and was fully transparent. I've tried and failed every time trying to find a decent, reliable car detailer in Austin. I made a 9:15am appointment and arrived early. He told me it would be more expensive because I have a car, and that their base pricing for a full interior detail is for a two-door vehicle like a Mazda Miata despite their wash breakdowns a la carte being for a car, SUV, and XXL vehicle, mine falling into the first bracket (Camry). I said that's fine, as long as the detail was quality I honestly didn't mind paying 60 extra dollars. He told me it should be 2-3 hours, which is exactly what I expected, and I said I'd walk to a coffee shop and be back in 2.5 hours. He called me an hour into the service and said he'd be done in 15 minutes. Shocked, I started walking back and mentioned I'd be right there. I arrived, waited at the picnic tables in full visibility of the guy, and proceeded to wait another TWO HOURS until I finally went up and asked him about my car. He was like, oh it's been done for two hours. He did not let me know in any way. I walk to my car and check it out with him in utter disbelief. There are still crumbs under my seat, the seats are damp from the shampooing, there is visible crumbs on one of the seats, and my trunk has not been touched at all. I mention all of this, and he asks me if I have pets, as if that's an excuse for a poor detail job. Which, I don't have any pets. I'm SO dissatisfied with the service. He offers to take some money off and still charged me $110 for a shitty detail. He then proceeds to wipe the area around my open trunk where there's visible dirt for five minutes, as if that changes anything. I won't be back, and honestly, I think I deserve my money back for such shitty service and communication. Do NOT go here for detailing. They'll rush it (taking less than an HOUR for a full interior detail) and then charge you for a shitty job anyway and then maybe let you waste two hours for no reason. Yikes. read more

Took my car to get cleaned and was overall satisfied with the wash, I did the basic package which included exterior wash and interior with vacuum. However, 2 of my items were taken from the car and not returned back to me. My dog's leash as well as an iPhone charger was missing from the car when I checked in the evening. At that point the Washaroo was already closed so I wasn't able to get in contact with them. I called bright & early the next day and couldn't get a hold of anyone. Tried multiple times throughout the day to call them and again, never got a response. Since I wasn't able to get anyone on the phone, I ended up driving back to the location. I was told by the person there that their manager wasn't there so they can't check the security tapes but they would give him my number. He also went and checked the lost & found and wasn't able to find anything. I find it a bit hard to believe that my items were just thrown away overnight rather than being in the lost & found. Also, it didn't seem like anyone seemed to care that the items got stolen/misplaced and offered no sense of compensation (free wash for example) or anything. So not only did I pay for a car wash but now I have to spend extra money on these items that were taken. I've seen a few other reviews here that mention items getting taken from their cars. It was a major inconvenience for me and I will not be returning back to Washaroo. read more

When it was hot outside, I was concerned my lunch would get to warm and the owner let me place my sandwich in the employee fridge for safe cooling so the mayonnaise would say chilled. My sadwich was ice cold when I got it back and so plesent. But I forgot my desert of Twix and twislers (or TnT as I likde to called them) and when back a month later! And they stilled had then chilling! TJ da bossman , even took my advize to start making sure all their customers feel this way when they leave. U wanna a washed car, these guys are the guys!!! Came in expecting to leave with a clean car and left with only 60% of my car washed. I waited nearly 2 hours for this. Spoke to the manager about all the dirt and grime on the fenders, wheels, and soft top of my jeep and he preferred me to leave with a dirty car than fix this. I would NOT refer this car wash to anybody. Manager offered a free car wash and hand wax another time instead of fixing the problem then and there. DO NOT COME IF YOU WANT A CLEAN CAR! read more

This was my first hand-wash / detailing experience upon moving to Austin from Massachusetts and I'm beyond pleased with the results. After driving the 2,500 miles from Massachusetts, my Tesla Model 3 was looking pretty messy with bugs, road grime, etc. After much research I settled on Washaroo, and I am THRILLED with the result. I ended up getting the Mini Detail package, and my car looks close to new when I purchased it two years ago. Nobody would be able to tell that I just drove 2k+ miles, and all signs of any dirt or mess are gone. The team at Washaroo provided extremely fair and transparent pricing about what I needed (and what was overkill for my situation), got me right in without appointment, and even provided a free draft beer while I waited! I didn't expect the five minute time to be real; maybe that's all the time they spend because they are fast? They spent more than that cleaning my car, for sure. That was nice. They should, however, be up front that it will be mroe like an hour, and if the cost is going to be mroe than the starting price. I got the Super Wash. I'm glad I only paid $30. There is still stuff to be vacummed on the seats and floor and the car was washed, but not completely clean. I could've done that with a water hose and a wash cloth like they did. Booked an appointment online for 4:30, and ended up waiting an hour and 15 minutes for my car's mid level wash. There is no inside seating or wifi so you're really just waiting outside on picnic benches. This would have been more doable if it wasn't 100 degrees outside. I was drenched in sweat by the time my car was ready. When I read their website, it seemed like they would have wifi and a comfortable sitting area to wait, but that isn't the case, at least with this location. The clean itself was decent besides some spots they missed around the steering wheel. I might go back just given the price reasonable and its a good location for me. Next time I would definitely come not as close to closing and plan on going to a coffee shop or somewhere nearby rather than waiting on it at the location. read more

The actual work done was good to great. The issue resides on the fact that there was a miscommunication on behalf of the employees tending the point of sale after the work was completed. After we had paid for the work completed an employee ran up after us to allege that there had been a disagreement based on the fact that we underpaid for the work completed (something like $40 vs $25). I understand their frustration when it comes to situations like this, but because the initial employee we had interacted with was not present during the transaction to verify what work had been done to the car and our party had no clue as to the inner workings of their pricing scheme it is not a good look for the initial guy to come out to us and say stuff like "hey we agreed on the price $xx and y'all payed so and so instead...we had an agreement that's fine if you got one over on us but y'all are scamming and being dishonest etc etc". Look, we were fine with paying the initial amount in hindsight, which is not the issue, but there is also no reason why we should be privy to the costs of the work performed when time has elapsed and we are in a hurry to get off lunch and head back to work. You can't just mistakenly charge someone a lower price and then run up and bitch out your customer framing them as "dishonest" when your other employee made the wrong call on the transaction without consulting YOU first as the one who set up the deal to begin with. I know these sort of businesses probably deal on commission for y'all to make money but if you can't be bothered to either a) charge upfront before the work is done or b) be present at the end of the work and charge the person correctly then you don't have the right to be rude to a customer. Would have recommended y'all to other people in the area but after this experience I hope y'all change how business is done. Hell even a pre-itemized receipt would have been a good option so that stuff like this doesn't happen in the future. TLDR: if your coworker charges someone for the wrong price you don't get to run out and complain and call the customer dishonest for YOUR mistake.
