Washing machines are plentiful and come in several different capacities of varying prices. All are express-wash and take only around 20 minutes. Drying is free with the wash. The only drawback that prevents me from giving five stars is that you can't alter the dry time: you either dry in 10-minute increments, or not at all. Let's start by stating I was very new to St. Louis and never been to a laundromat. I looked for places to go and with these reviews I chose this one and I definitely don't regret it! The lady working there was very helpful, not nice or at least doesn't smile but didn't mind helping when asked....and OH DID I ASK. Another woman doing her laundry helped me and was so kind! I can not say I had a bad experience and would definitely come back! I used a big washing machine and was able to wash all my clothes and a blanket at the same time, not into doing different loads, for 7.50. Drying is free but of course they run for only 10min and you have to restart it. Washing took about 30min and drying about another 30. Very quick!! read more

I've been here a few times now, and the experience hasn't changed much. If you go on a weekend, good luck finding an empty washer (except for the huge washers that are $7 per load). During the week, daytime it is usually not too busy. Single load top loads cost the same as the double load front loads, $3.25 per load, which doesn't make much sense to me... But even with a totally full hamper I only fill 2 of the double load washers. Free drying if you wash there is a bonus. There is always a worker there. It's been the same lady every time I have gone. She is usually running around like crazy working on all the loads that get dropped off. She seems friendly even when she is constantly running back and fourth between washers and dryers. The only negative thing I've found is that even though they advertise free wifi I've not found a way to connect to it yet because it has a password on it. Maybe next time I will ask the worker for the password. I'm going to try out some other laundromats in the area, but I'm not sure that they will beat the convenience of this one for me. read more

All of the good stuff about this place is true. I was in town for a volleyball tournament with my son and he wanted me to do his laundry! So this place to the rescue - the wash and fold service is perfect - you drop it off and they call you when it's all done! Here for a business trip and found out the Hotel doesn't have any laundry rooms. The laundry service available wanted 4.50 A shirt! Found this place 5 minutes from the hotel. Owners are kind and very helpful. They also take card (small fee of course). Would highly recommend if you don't want to have someone else do your laundry. read more

My comment is specific to dry cleaning. This place is wonderful - easy to get in and out of, prices are very reasonable, and I've taken everything from blouses to jackets to pants to formal dresses here and been very satisfied. They do a fantastic job with the dry cleaning and are able to get out stains that I thought would not go away. The dry cleaning is not done in house so it's usually a day or so turnaround time but if you drop something off early in the morning you may be able to get same-day service. Very convenient to have this service available in the neighborhood. read more

This is probably the greatest laundromat in the world!!! I was down on my luck moping about the cold streets of South St. Louis,hungry,and fresh out of a divorce when I stumbled upon this place. I had a large sack o' warsh slung over my shoulder,heavier than the weight of all my ex's lies,when the friendliest lady opened front door and invited me in the warm fuzzy blanket that exists as Soulard Soap Laundromat. Her name was Roz and she introduced me right away to her husband Jerry (the owners) and before I knew it,everyone else in there! It was like I was part of the family by the time I got finished with my first load. I will never forget the smiles and laughs we shared,allowing my depressive mentality to subside for the time being. The have free drying if you complete your laundry in house which was huge for me being that the ex-wife took me for everything. during my laundry cycle,I enjoyed all the ancient video game machines like Pacman and Donkey Kong. It was fantastic feeling like a child again. It made me so happy just being in that positive atmosphere that I turned things around for myself that very day. Now I bought a beautiful house in west county and am happily remarried to a beautiful wife whom we share three kids together! We take the kids down to see baseball games and always stop in to say hi to Rod and Jerry and do our family loads at Soulard Soap before heading back out west. Highly recommended read more

Our dryer broke today (Easter) so the local spot was closed. Found this little gem and would absolutely come again!! The owners were friendly and helpful. If you wash your clothes here you get free dryers. The owners said they only close on Thanksgiving, Christmas and Mardi Gras. Would do my laundry here any day! read more

This place is great! I went in to wash my king sized comforter because my cat peed on it and the washer in my apartment is too small. The woman working there was so sweet (I didn't catch her name). I asked her if it would be necessary to dry clean it to get the stain out and she was very straightforward and told me that it would be fine to wash it myself, and cheaper, so she helped save me money! It was also my first time in a laundromat/using a commercial washer, and she helped me figure out the machines and didn't judge me for being that person that didn't know how to start the dryer or where to put the detergent. Fantastic place. As soon as we walked in the door we were greeted by the owner. He described the different sizes of washers available and informed us the dryers are free. We went next door for a beer and when I returned to put the wash in the dryer he offered to re- start the dryers as they only run for 10 minutes and he knew I had a beer waiting. The wash was pricey but free dryers make up for it. Slow wifi but it's better than nothing. No complaints at all. The market is just a block away so you can go grab some fruits and veggies while waiting for your wash. read more

This was a great laundromat! We were visiting for a week and needed to wash a few clothes. the lady who works there is super nice and gave us wifi access without even us having to ask her. They do have free dry (of course that means the washer price is a little higher than others) but it's worth it because you get clean and well dried clothes here. Because we STILL don't have a W/D we use their drop off service a LOT and they are GREAT. They have gotten red wine stains out of yoga pants (don't ask) and can almost always have a LOT of laundry done in a little amount of time - almost always in the same day. It's a little more expensive than doing it yourself, but totally worth it for the convenience. read more

I always enjoy coming to Soulard Soap. It has lots of machines, lots of space with different areas to sit and wait in, TVs, tables and chairs, arcade games and vending machines. I took two large bags of laundry and nearly all of my clothes for dry cleaning. .95 cents per pound of laundry and THEY WILL WASH IT FOR YOU! I was worried because I forgot to tell the attendant which clothes I didn't want dried and she knew anyway. I came to pick my clothes up within a few hours and she had my "nicer" clothes hung up to dry and the rest was folded perfectly in my original bag. Worth every penny! read more
