These turds. Had tons of issues for years, they fixed a decent amount, then we sold the home and the new owner took over the account. When the new owner took over the account, my auto-pay was cancelled, which I was not told about. Logged in and paid the bill. What did they send me a month later? A bill for a late fee. Paying a bill is very difficult. If it is possible to get a human I do not know and the automated system does not work well. Additional fees for certain kinds of payment are noted only after traveling down a particular response chain. read more

My first complaint is the price they charged us. I don't pay the household bills, so when I found out what they were charging, I just about passed out!!! On average, $425 quarterly, or to be exact, $1278 for the year. When I called another company and told her the quarterly price, she thought I must be mistaken and that had to be for a year. I went back and checked bank statement for 1 year and we did indeed pay over $400 for 3 months!!! If I could give a business a zero I would. We always worked hard not to get waste management because we've had problems with them in the past period so we had NAW. Without being told waste management took over that company. When I called to cancel the service I was told because my name wasn't on the account and my husband's was that I did not have permission to do that. Then when I went to cancel the lady told me that I had put my service on hold till January so she would just cancel it in January. This was June 16th of this year. I told her no I want my service completely cancelled and to be done with it. That I didn't just want my service paused so they could charge me $15 a month for doing nothing. The lady told me I was rude, but then she said that OK I'll cancel it. Come to July 5th of this year, and I've been charged for a service I'm not even getting anymore . It's like the hotel California for this company and they are horrible. If you need a trash service make sure you go to JT waste. I swear they think of any reason NOT to stop by. They don't reimburse or Not bill you for when they don't stop by and they want u to provide your own extra garbage can after a "weather conditions" excuse to not stop by but don't tell u when they didn't stop by for that reason. Oh but if you want to keep an extra one out they'll charge you extra each month. So if they don't stop by, you need to call their almost impossible phone system (they have a computer system that makes it very hard/almost impossible to talk to a representative and then ends up hanging up on you if you fail (all but 1 time for me) to find out if that's why they didn't stop by. They said the reason they didn't pick up my garbage last week was because it wasn't by the side of the road. I haven't moved it since they put it down for that reason alone. I would rather walk to the end of my driveway than push a full garbage pail to the end of my driveway anyways. If I could give the rating a zero I would. read more

I am extremely distressed by the behavior of the Waste Management truck driver who was driving on West Route 66 between Woodlands Village and Flagstaff Ranch Road on Monday August 22, 2022 at about 2:10 to 2:15 pm. He was spilling garbage all over Route 66. Some of it even hit my car. In total it probably amounted to at least a garbage can full. I trying beeping short beeps in quick succession and flashing my lights at the same time to get his attention. No reaction. I tried pulling up next to him on the left and on the right and yelling. He had his window open. No reaction. Just blissfully drove along at a high speed, spilling garbage all over the place. So I took down his AZ license plate number: CL46658. I will still try to contact the company, but so far, using several different telephone numbers, all I got every time was a computer who wanted to know my billing address. I asked to speak to a representative or agent, but that did not work. What a way to manage waste: spread it around the neighborhood! read more

Ugh! Not pleased with this company! If you have another option, go with it! We live in Kachina Village, AZ and due to weather, pickups were delayed a week at Thanksgiving and Christmas. We didn't get serviced for two weeks and we are still expected to pay the full bill. Waste Management - you need to step up your customer service because it is really bad. The streets here were plowed and the sun was out and you still didn't show up. If you can't pickup trash until the next scheduled pickup, you need to credit your customer! Not sure where to start with these guys ... They're a national company and aren't good at communicating with each other let alone the customer. Every time I've called to arrange special pickup of yard bags I get a different price menu. And today it snowed maybe three inches and my driver deemed my trash cans inaccessible. It's Flagstaff! Do you like to pay ambiguous fees above and beyond what you were quoted?? Then this is the company for you!! First they charge you per can to rent it, which is fine, I guess, but I thought maybe I would get that money back at the end of my service. Nope. Every billing cycle my bill crept up, until I called and threatened to go with another company, which is honestly what I should have done. There are two people living at my house...we maybe needed trash service once a month, if that, but there was no option for every other week or once a month pickups. $161 for three pickups is absurd. Then, when I finally did cancel service, they told me I would have to pay $75 for them to come pick up my cans. You mean the cans I had already paid for previously? Yes, those cans. I did not get a bill for $75, I got a bill for $111, because they had to charge me $26 in fuel costs to come get said cans. Part of the "applicable fees" they didn't tell me about. I am so frustrated with this company. I have called them 3x attempting to cancel service. Each time I have been passed around and around to someone else that couldn't complete my request. I notified the last rep I have sold the property and if they want they can send someone to pick up their cans they can but I have no intention of paying any more of their bills since I have notified 6 people at WM that we're unable to cancel my request. Not only can you not get ahold of them, even after they tell you to use their virtual assistant on their site, but they keep raising their price even after a new better company has emerged and is half the price if not more. Beware!!! Below is a chronology of my unhappy dealings with WM. 11/7/18 signed on to WM for 26$/mo. (per Robin) with the $35.00 setup fee waived. I was also told by Robin that I could pay monthly...just keep track of what I owed. My first bill 11/16/18: 179.32 30 delivery fee 35 setup (not waived) 34.76 auto s/196s proration [trash] 34.76 auto s/l recys96 proration 34.96 fuel/environment charge 4.84 regulatory cost recovery charge 5 administrative charge My eyes popped out! Just look at all those add-on fees. WM must be making money hand over fist. Subsequent conversations with various reps provided no joy. I was told that WM would match local trash haulers (Elaine). The best that (after conversation with her boss) was 36/mo. And that I would have to pay quarterly--no exemptions. As with millions of other Americans, I am on a fixed income, cannot commit to a quarterly fee. The local trash hauler costs 23/mo. I cancelled WM on 11/29. I was told (by Tallina) to leave EMPTY bins on the curb. Huh?? They were already full in expectation of tomorrow's pickup. She relented. We live in Kachina Village and did not receive trash pick up during the Christmas/New Year holiday; they cited safety concerns for their drivers. During this time, we did receive mail delivery, package delivery from private carriers and our neighbors received trash pick up from other companies. Their service is unacceptable. Took out the waste and dropped WM! Prices were ridiculous as is but then add in "surcharges" "admin costs" blah blah? Forget that noise. The straw that finally broke the camel's back was a few bills ago when I missed a payment (oversight on my part, paid on an old account in a different state) so they shut off my service. Okay no problem. But getting service reinstated cost me $55?! What? To push a button in their computer system? No way. So I called and got that taken care of, after I waited on hold for 30 minutes. Fast forward to now.. I heard about a new local company, JT Waste (see my review there) and I made the switch immediately. But when I called WM to cancel service, they tried charging me $75 to return their cans. I informed them that was awful customer service and a fine example of why I was taking my service elsewhere. Very upset with company for not picking up our trash . Was told by customer service driver was not usual driver and would not pick up our trash because can was not located on road. But our usual driver uses our driveway to turn around and empties our can during the process this was per his instructions.After talking to customer service a courtesy pickup was promised. Four hours later get a voice mail saying no pick up til next week on usual pick up day. This does not work best for me our can is FULL today!
