Went on a Saturday night with music for the first time. Delicious food and service was great! I got the boiled dinner which was your standard corned beef and cabbage; others got the taste of Ireland which was a flight of sorts of 3 entrees, chicken tenders, and the last was the Caribbean rice bowl with fish. Was looking forward to trying this place for a while. After my experience last night, never again. The ambiance was nice Irish pubby look. The service was average to poor likely due to understaffing. We got there and waited and waited to be seated. Finally sat and waited again for our drink order. The Guinness was very good from the tap. The menu was Irish fare so all good.. Had bangers and mash and my friend had beef stew. The 4 sausages were okay but overcooked. A few were blackened. The mashed potatoes were flat out disgusting. They had a weird taste so I don't know how they were made or if they were old from the fridge. The clearly didn't use butter and milk to make it creamy and rich. The side of beans was in a little cup and tasted like they were from a can. No onion gravy that you normally find on this dish. My stomach was doing cartwheels last night and not feeling great this morning. My friend had beef stew and seriously it looked like all gravy. Not hearty at all. He said it was okay. We came here with good expectations and although overall it was a good visit, some crucial factors were below standard. The place is immaculate, clean, and antiseptic. The tables are superbly clean. The bathrooms are scrupulously spotless. The bar is perfectly curated and organized. A health inspector here would be sorely disappointed. Cleanest venue I've seen in a long time. The service lacked, however. Right after being ushered to our table with a beautiful outside view, the young waitress started yapping interminably on personal issues with a couple she obviously knew two tables away. We were forgotten. Finally after a good 15 minutes, one of us went to the bar to get menus. The bar waitress came out and bought us menus and gave the young lady a look.... Then the taps were out so in an Irish pub, no slow-poured Guinness. I did get it in the bottle and then had to send the waitress to get a cold glass. Lunch came. Delicious Chicken Moher and my other half a delicious Club Sandwich. Yum The lunch was very good. I would have given five stars. But the initial reception with a lackadaisical waitress tells me that although the pub may be outstanding, they need some better training for their wait staff. read more

This is one of my favorite local places to go and have a good beer and Irish meal. It is right in downtown Franklin and kind of a hole on the wall. I have probably been there half a dozen times in the last two years. Their draft beer selection is excellent, including Smithwick and Guinness. If I were a whiskey drinker, I would be in heaven because they have dozens and dozens of bottles of different kinds. The food is also fantastic. In the photo is their taste of Ireland, which gives you the option of picking three dishes out of five. I chose the beef stew, sausage, stew, and shepherds pie with ground lamb. All three were incredible. The only reason I don't give them five stars is because they do not offer corned beef and cabbage, except on St. Patrick's Day. read more

This is a excellent place to go to eat if you are in the Franklin area. We were there to take my brother who lives in Franklin out to eat for his birthday. He did mention this place, so family members decided to try it. This restaurant is very clean and has a very homie feel to it. The staff is very friendly. The food is excellent, I had the corn beef & cabbage it was so good, the corn beef was so tender it melted in your mouth. Not 1 family member of 6 people who was there complained about the food or service that we had at the Waterhouse Irish Pub. Can't wait to go back again to get my corn beef & cabbage. read more

Went on St Patrick's Day had a great time, felt like a real Irish Pub, decor was very authentic,food was excellent and the staff couldn't be more accommodating. We also enjoyed the entertainment which was live. We will be back soon. read more

Maybe 3.5... The place has a very nice interior, with tin ceiling, what appeared to be original radiators, and appropriate decorations. We had small portions of fish and chips and the Guinness stew. First, the bad news: although the fish was fresh and well cooked, it was clear that they need an oil change in the fryer. Sad, really, but I marked hard on this one. If you want to be an Irish pub, you HAVE to have a solid fish and chips, no mistakes allowed on a flagship dish that many people are going to order. The chips were either cooked in a different fryer or ... something. They were uniquely cut and very tasty, not overly seasoned and very well made. The stew was hearty, hot, and full of good meat. There was almost a wine-like undertone and the texture was fine. Served with big dollop of mashed potatoes, I really enjoyed the dish. To be frank, I was afraid from the initial appearance that it had been 'artificially' thickened, but this was not the case; it was simply a good, thick and hearty stew. Both dishes were plenty for us. I would have needed a takeaway container for each if we had gotten the full size in serving. Sticky toffee dessert was great. Again, a generous portion, best shared. Industry worker here so I know accurate reviews are everything. This place was a nice suprise. Off day at my kitchen so naturally I found myself looking for an irish pub and found Waterhorse just in time for first call. I'm picky as hell with Guinness and they had a perfect pour, 10/10. I'm not a big fan of huge menus, but at the same time everything sounded awesome. I enjoyed the idea of a sampler for indecisive people like myself. Plenty of options all sounded tasty and I enjoyed reading through it all. We went with the fried Pickles. Highly suggest snacking on those. The horseradish aioli was perfect. I had to try their fish and chips, the scooped chips were perfectly seasoned and hearty. Fish was light and crispy, normally I go for a thick crispy beer batter but their lighter recipe was really good. Wasn't huge on the coleslaw, and the tartar was alright but I'm biased when it comes to my own stuff. It was perfectly fine and honestly I didn't realt need either side or sauce cuz that fish was perfect. My partner got the smash burger and fries. Also awesome. Can't go wrong with secret sauce and a smash patty. I particularly enjoyed the little details this place had too. The painting above the bar and general esthetic was just the type of vibe I love sitting in. The burger bun stamp was a nice touch. Our bartender was fast and friendly. I'd love to go back on a busy night to see how things go but seems like a really awesome place to have around town. Next time I pass through we will for sure be back. I'm sorry, but we were not impressed. This restaurant came highly recommended by a family member. Will start with the good, the cheese curds were amazing, but seemed to go downhill from there. My daughter and I ordered the Emerald Isle, the chicken was very dry for both meals, almost like it was over cooked, and the bun was just blah. My husband had the beer battered chicken sandwich and it was just ok, could have used an aioli mayo for more moistness. The service was just ok, waiter did make some suggestions when asked. Seemed like food took a long time to come out and we were the only customers when we got there. Also never came back to fill water glasses, seemed more interested in Halloween decorations. When told the meal was not very good, no mention of sending a manager over. We would try this restaurant again, but with many excellent choices out there it may take a couple of months. read more

Loved this place. My bacon, avocado, turkey wrap was very fresh and tasty. It was accompanied by house made potato chips that were nicely salted and peppered, and 100% not greasy. We were a tad nervous to come here, based on online reviews -- but we saw lots of people inside so thought we'd give it a shot! Super lovely welcome at the front as we walked in, and we were seated straight away (5.45pm on a Saturday night). We ordered drinks and food shortly thereafter and my friend said her Guinness was one of the best she's ever had! Food was served quickly -- it was hot and looked delicious! Unfortunately, the fries were a bit watery and definitely not "crispy", but it was a large portion! -- my chicken sandwich was full of super fresh ingredients. I had the Fish and Chips-the portions were small, the batter wasn't very good, and the fish was only so so. I know it's difficult to replicate Irish/British food here, but this didn't even come close. We have been twice now and were not disappointed at all. Portions are on the larger side. Everything is fresh and made to order. Both times I have had fish and chips. It is the best I have had. Fresh and lightly battered. I am not a coleslaw person but ate it both times and really like it. My husband has gotten two different specials: pork medallions and a seared T-bone steak. Both he throughly enjoyed. We have had the fried cheese curds and large pretzel as appetizers and both were really good. My daughter had buffalo chicken tenders. They were hand batter not frozen. On Friday there was 4 of us for dinner. The place is beautiful. But ( always a but) Placed our dinner orders-- took a long time For first 2 dinners to come out of which 1 was Wrong ( didn't send it back) Then 12 minutes Later the 3rd dinner came out. 4th dinner never Arrived until I stopped the waitress and asked what going on. Had her just pack the dinner to go As everyone was already done eating. She didn't offer to make it right. When I got meal home discovered it was well overcooked. Doesn't have some of the unique food items that their sister pub, Kathleen's in Bristol, is famous for, so ultimately our group left without ordering any food.
