Two stars is being pretty generous. Made a reservation for dinner while staying at the hotel. It was...interesting. We did not opt for the buffet so ordered off the menu. My other half had a ribeye and it was basically a giant piece of fat with a small side of meat. I had the blackened chicken. It was fine? The rice underneath was kind of gross and I didn't eat it. Side of fries was the best part of the meal. Dinner for two + tip came out to $125 and we would have been way, way happier just going to a chain restaurant. Worse than the food was the service. Greeter was extremely friendly and engaged in conversation on the way to the table. The wait staff was odd. We had no idea what the two young men were saying as they were mostly mumbling. The primary waiter had long, dirty fingernails and zero communication skills. No one ever asked how our meal was. When we paid, the waiter literally threw down the check with our credit card and just kept walking without speaking. Won't be back, can't recommend. read more

Very unhappy with this meal. Today was our last day in Maryland. We decided to have a nicer breakfast with a view and come to the Hyatt for breakfast instead of a smaller place since it was my birthday. I called on the way and asked about breakfast, they said they were serving breakfast until 12. We find out on arrival that they stop taking orders at 11 and it is buffet only. It is 11:15 at this point and we didn't feel like going anywhere else hoping for the best. The view is okay. It is your run of the mill breakfast buffet. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, and a breakfast wrap. With the typical toast, bagels, etc. Everything was Luke warm. The scrambled eggs were slightly runny/moist, they didn't care for the sausage. The bacon, pancakes, and breakfast wrap was okay. The fruit was fresh. We find out after we got our plates that omelets are included with the buffet. Only one person got one since we had already gotten full plates. We find out when getting the bill that it was $23/person. I can't speak to their breakfast menu before 11am, but the $100 plus tip breakfast we had after 11 am was terrible. We very much enjoyed our Easter dinner despite a table of very unruly children. The menu is on the pricey side and well worth the price. Service was impeccable. Food was very good. Started with well made cocktails. Shared the little gem Caesar which they spilt for us needed a bit more dressing but was nicely presented. Crab bisque was easily the best ever and loaded with sweet jumbo lumps of crap. Pork chop was delish and very large. Bread pudding was tasty but oddly sweet. Shallot garnish yummy. The restaurant is beautiful and the service is good, but the menu was not very extensive and the food was only ok. I ordered the seared sea scallops. The scallops were good but came with two types of tomatoes, cherry and regular. It was A LOT of tomatoes surrounding my scallops. The tomatoes were either sour or bitter. It didnt taste good! Other than two grilled pieces of onions, this dish was lacking in appearance. Some potatoes or risotto in the dish to act as a bed for the scallops would have been nice. It was $24 for four scallops. I was at the Hyatt (where this restaurant is located) and stopped in here for breakfast. They have the requisite breakfast buffet and omlette maker with a fairly robust breakfast menu. I went for the Eggs Benedict. The food was deliciously prepared and elegantly presented. The waiter was friendly and courteous and attentive. The ambiance was great and they had USA Today available for free at the hostess station. Yeah. It's not the cheapest place in town but if you're a guest at the hotel/resort/spa it's pretty darn convenient and opens at a reasonable hour for all us "morning people". Oddly, the menu items are cheaper than the buffet. So my recommendation is to pass on the buffet unless you're really hungry and can get your money's worth. read more

I'm giving this place 4 stars because there is no 3.5 option. The menu is wicked limited. I even asked if I could have the larger, restaurant menu, but no luck. Tip: Inquire and sample the local brew on tap. There was one called 16 Mile when I stopped in that was off-the-charts-awesome. Tip: When I stopped in after a run around the property, I asked the bartender to fill my water bottle with ice/water, he kindly did. I ordered a crab cake sandwich with a chips and salsa starter. The bowl of chips, tri-color from a bag, dwarfed the 2 tablespoons of salsa. There was also a 1/2 a cup of sour cream. Maybe this is how some folks take their chips and salsa, not me. To her credit, when I asked for more salsa, the server brought me an appropriate amount along with a bowl of 'smoked salsa' which was quite tasty. When I asked her what was in it, she didn't know. The crab cake with fries, really lacked fries. It was the same amount that you might get at McDonald's if you ordered 1/2 of a small. No exaggeration. The crab cakes, however, were disappointingly salty and shell filled. It tasted like my daily sodium allowance was packed into the crab cakes, so much so that I decided not to order an entree. If you love crab cakes as much as I do, you may want to indulge that craving elsewhere. read more

Probably one of the worst experiences ever. Ordered mussels for an appetizer.....bad idea. Not only were they stuck to the shell and difficult to remove, when I managed to get one out it was tiny. So, not off to a great start. Onto the pork chop with sweet potato and collard greens. Sounds good right? Not so fast....the collard greens were so over salted I had to drink a whole glass of water to get the taste out of my mouth. Sweet potato was not fully cooked and was cold. My pork chop would have been fine were it not for being smothered in over salted collard greens. My friends pork chop was close to being raw. The waiter Milan was lovely to look at but you can't survive on someone elses good looks. Okay okay, but he really was very apologetic. The resort is so nice I just don't understand why the restaurant has such awful chefs. You can do so much better Hyatt. Needless we won't be back! read more

The steak was paper thin (shockingly so for the cost); it did at least have some flavor. However, the side dishes left much to be desired -- the "adult" mac & cheese was far less enjoyable than the ones my kids had. Very disappointed. They claim to have online ordering, but it didn't work for me and at least one other customer that I overheard. Ordered to-go at the separate to-go window. The cashier was polite and helpful. For $68, got a cup of crab soup, mixed green salad with chicken, cheeseburger w/ fries, kids fish and chips, and quesadilla w/ side salad. The cashier forgot to ask what I wanted for salad dressing, and I forgot to ask when picking up. The food was very low quality. The burger was super basic. The quesadilla was also very basic and carelessly thrown into the box. The pico de gallo and guacamole had very little flavor. The fish sticks looked meager, but to be fair, my 5 year old daughter said they were good. I realize take-out it is not as good as eating in, but based on the way this food looked, I would not have wanted to eat it inside the restaurant either. I could understand if it was $30. read more

This is our first time in Maryland so we wanted to see how the seafood would taste. We are from the Pacific Northwest so we are pretty picky about our seafood. I ordered the pecan crusted salmon. The crust was pretty sweet and the salmon was quite juicy. The Brussels sprouts on the other hand were AMAZING! I don't know what kind of sauce they used, but it was tasty! They also had a special crab cake plate, but they weren't as flavorful as other crab cakes I've had. We sat in the adjacent room that had a view of the water, which was really nice. read more

Came here for lunch after checking into the Hyatt. Sadly, it was one of the worse dining experiences I've ever had. Service was extremely slow even though the restaurant was mostly empty. My kids' chicken pasta meal arrived with undercooked raw chicken!! I was furious! What a way to start off our vacation with the fear of my children getting sick on their first meal! We ate there last night and except for the service, it was horrible. Our calamari was salty enough that it had to be returned. The salad was overdressed with a very acidic dressing but we ate it because we were hungry. My wife's vegetable lasagna was a pile of pasta with large pieces of green peppers, yellow peppers, and snap peas with ALOT of cheese on top. It was terrible. My mussels were over cooked but edible. The pumpkin pie was alright. The butternut squash soup was okay, too. The final act was finding out that our Makers Mark manhattan was $16 and the Bombay and tonic was $14. It's a beautiful space with unbelievably bad food. We're here for two more nights but won't be dining here those nights. read more

There may be dozens of tables open, make a reservation anyway as they keep tables closed. There's a 9% tax on alcoholic beverages. Table service is friendly. My appetizer portion of fried calamari was tender and spicy, but the temperature was not as hot as it should have been (not raw, just not hot), in addition, the portion size is easily enough for two or more, so take that into account. My main course was the Pork Osso Bucco. The flavor was good, portion size good, asparagus was almost raw and, like the appetizer, the plate was scalding hot but the food was only warm. My wife had a soup appetizer which she thought was very good, but her main dish, salmon, was served on a bed of risotto which I also tasted. The salmon was very tasty and well cooked, but the risotto, well cooked, lacked flavor. Their prices are moderate, the views are beautiful and again, the young wait staff is courteous and polite. read more

So incredibly disappointing. I don't even know where to begin. We were greeted 10 minutes after being sat in a barely half capacity restaurant. I held my daughter 5 minutes while waiting for a high chair that we requested in our reservation made a day prior. My husband ordered and iced tea. I'm still not clear on what the nearly black fluid was that he was served. The children's food was typical kid menu food. My older son ordered a medium rare filet with no signature sauce and mac-n-cheese. The medium well filet was covered in a bernaise sauce. The actual cut of beef was good but that was the only positive component on the dish. My son sat with an empty glass until I left the table to ask for a refill. I order the scallops which were good. I requested a side of asparagus which was so salty that it was inedible. I personally use salt in excess (as unhealthy as that is) I was able to eat one piece before pushing it aside. My husband ordered the land and sea. It's clearly states in the menu that is a filet served with a crab cake, potatoes and a vegetable. His steak was cooked to order but was missing the requested sauce and to his surprise was served with 2 scallops and no crab cake. When we asked the server about the crab cake, as my husband doesn't eat scallops. He said that was how the dish was served and promptly walked away. We ordered two margaritas, fairly basic drinks. I have never tasted a margarita like this. I asked if we could please have some orange juice so that I could attempt to cut the sour mix and possibly make the drink a little better. I was unsuccessful and felt like I was "on the clock" making known cocktails. The server never asked if the margaritas were ok nor did he ever check back to see if our entrees were prepared to our liking. After we finished what we were able to eat I walked to the hostess station to look at a menu. I wanted to be sure that we had not misread the description for the land and sea entree as we had still not seen our server. A very pleasant hostess asked if there was anything she could help with. I explained the issue with my husbands dish. When I returned to our table the server was clearing our seemingly untouched dishes. At no point did he question why the food was not eaten. At this point a manger arrives at our table. He does apologize for "whatever was wrong". He then asked my husband if we would be willing to wait while the chef cooked a crab cake for him. At his point our table is clear minus the awful margaritas and the empty beverage glasses. My husband thanked him but said that our children were ready to leave. He said "fine" and left. We had been seated at this point for 1.5 hours. The manager never offered any other solution. When our check was brought to us we were charged for EVERYTHING! The full cocktails, the full (black in color) iced tea and more importantly the entire land and sea entree. I have no problem paying for the steak, which was not cooked properly, but the "sea" portion. My husband didn't touch the scallops and we were not offered a crab cake until after our entire family was fished and the table was cleared. Cleared of full plates which should indicate a problem. My husband and I both manage restaurants. We are easy going are more than understanding of all problems that can arise in this industry. We work very hard to support a family of five by providing excellent service in our respective restaurants. We were excited to have special dinner with our children in what appeared to be nice restaurant. I have never in my life thought to write a review as I personally understand the effect they can have on a business. This experience was by far the worst I have ever had. This painful experience cost us $130.00 for 2 sodas that were never refilled, two margaritas that I had to mix myself and were still awful and untouched, a filet that was improperly cooked and covered in a sauce that was specifically not requested, a scallop dish and a land and sea entree that was not made with the same ingredients as the menu reads. We would never look to receive anything for free but to charge a guest for items that were inedible or prepared incorrectly is absurd. We understand mistakes happen. I believe that we are very sensitive and understanding to these situations. We have both been of the opposite end of this situation. I do hope that someone is able to recognize the very obvious issues in the restaurant. I hope that the staff receives proper food and cocktail training. I hope the the management finds a better way to handle and rectify these issues. The manager is the last "line of defense" in a guests experience. Unfortunately these experiences may have a far worse impact on a business and the hotel than they care to realize. I hope that other guests have a better experience but I'd certainly think twice before dining here. We will never make this mistake again. read more

My husband and I ate here while staying at the resort for our anniversary. We made a little note in the reservation that we were celebrating our first anniversary of wedded bliss and the host was so attentive to it! We were seated alone in the glass enclosed patio of the restaurant, which looks out over the Chesapeake and the fireplace. We had excellent service and the food was delicious! They even threw in a free dessert and s'mores kit for us. I will always come back here for dinner while at or near the resort. The breakfast was always good as well - we never did the buffet, but ordered off the menu, and it was great; simple, American breakfast food, nothing super special, but certainly nothing bad. read more

Service was great. Dining area beautiful. Food was mediocre and pricey. The meal started with a basket of stale bread. The cream of crab soup was mostly cream and almost no crab. My scallops were a little overcooked and was on the menu accompanied by roasted veggie couscous and lemon broth so I was surprised to find the couscous was very cheesy. Cheese with lemon broth.
