Great atmosphere and service. Food was good, but not great…read more Prices were way too high for what you got. Live music was very good, but perhaps a little too loud on the bar side. The renovations done are outstanding. The staff was plentiful and attentive. Four of the cheaper items on a limited menu were not available. Items ordered: The Seafood Pasta which was a little overpriced and had way too much pepper. It was almost returnable. The Boar Meatball which was very good. It could have used a small bed of pasta and/or some bread. Too expensive when you consider you only get one meatball for $19. The Korean BBQ Tacos comes with two tacos and no sides for $22. Way overpriced. Did order a side of French Fries which was $4.

We made it in to the Alibi tonight for the first time. We were seated immediately at a bar seat,…read morewhich was a high top that could seat four. Our waitress, Linda, greeted us and took our drink orders right away. She was very patient as I asked a bunch of questions about the menu. Our dinner arrived quickly and it was yummy! I had the fried fish, which came with a delicious Old Bay tartar sauce. The fries were so plentiful that neither one of us could finish them. My only (minor) complaint was that it was difficult to eat the fish in the basket it arrived in, as the paper and wire made it hard to get the flaky fish. But the food was great! A live acoustic guitar player came midway through our meal and although he played right next to us, we were able to continue to have a conversation. The decor is nice and it is divided by a hallway which makes the place feel cozy, although there seems to be plenty of seating. We will return!

One of the most under-rated restaurants downtown, everyone... meet Fox's Den!…read more Something so easy to miss, but you'd realllly be missing out if you continued to walk. Their fat fries, brussel sprouts & pizza, is 100% 5-stars. My server, Alex was awesome too, ensuring I was satisfied nearly every chance she could. I've frequented this place before, and have no issue in returning for a third!

When I asked if they had burgers, he tapped the menu and said, "We are a pizza spot!!!" which immediately set the tone. We decided to stay anyway, but things didn't improve. My husband ordered the braised short ribs, not realizing it came with a spicy sauce. When we brought it up, Bobby told us if it was remade, we'd be charged for both orders. No effort to check with the kitchen or involve a manager -- just a flat no. Then my husband ordered an Old Forester 1924, but was given the 1920 instead. The 1924 is highly allocated and hard to find. when he saw they had it, he really wanted to taste it. When we pointed it out, Bobby just said, "Oh, okay," and never corrected the drink or offered a solution. The only bright spot was the bartender, who was friendly and offered him a taste of the 1924; that was the only moment of good service all night. Really disappointing experience, especially for a birthday celebration. 1 star only because of the bartender.

I feel terrible for starting to eat my dinner before thinking to snap a pic as the presentation was…read morereally nice. Everything was bright fresh and inviting. But the taste is what really matters and Grilled Sesame Salmon didn't disappoint. Wow!! I thought British food was supposed to be flavorless. The Salmon was both sweet and spicy with the teriyaki bang-bang glaze. The jasmine rice cakes added the perfect amount of crunch and the vegetables were as fresh as they appeared. The pub side of the restaurant feels British with ornate wooden features and sounds of laughter from all around. The bartender are knowledgeable and engaging. Most importantly they made me a proper Makers Mark Manhattan filled to the absolute top of glass to top off an outstanding dinner.

So this review is going to be short and sweet, but with one VERY important note. Those of you who…read moreread my reviews know I typically review either really good or really "not so good" restaurants. I'm breaking my own rules, because I feel the 3.9 rating is pretty accurate, with one 5 star + exception. This was a business lunch and a convenient location so there we were. The duck fries as an appetizer were good but needed to be seasoned with a little more salt. I had a strawberry salad with some grilled chicken that was good with the greens, but dry as the desert with the chicken and borderline inedible. Here's the twist!!! My two compadres both had the grilled cheese and lobster sandwich. They both looked at me sheepishly and said, you f ed up!!! William was kind enough to break off a substantial bite and let me try it. Angels sang, children wept, and I almost passed out! It was the kind of perfection we all agreed we would have eaten 5, maybe 6 of these unnaturally awesome sandwiches until we passed out! 3.5 Star service, 4 Star ambience, and some 10 Star bites! Cheers, JimG
