Just wanted to send an update. We needed a hot water pump installed, but the water filtration system Shawn at waterwise installed previously was in the way. I called Shawn and explained it to him so he sent out a plumber immediately to move the connecting hose so the hot water pump would work. He had the filter reconnected to the water hose that goes the refrigerators so the ice now is filtered and comes out crystal clear. Working with Shawn and Hugo was such a breath of fresh air. After I contacted Shawn via his website he responded quickly. After a brief discussion he emailed several options, including pricing, for both water filtration and softening. Yes, pricing up front! Shawn stopped by the house a couple days later to test my water, answer any questions, and discuss options for the drain line. Shawn's approach was in stark contrast to a couple of the big name brand companies I had out to the house. The salesmen for those companies only wanted to sell me the high end 'elite' or similar systems and pressured me to make a decision on the spot. The quoted prices by the other guys were $1,000 - $2,000 more than Shawn's price for a similar system. One of them tried to up sell me the 'protection plan' while the other guy said 'if I sweeten the deal a little will you sign today'? Really? Time to go take a shower. We ended up going with full whole home filtration, softening, and RO for the drinking water. Shawn and his team showed up on time and got to work. Hugo, the installer, was fantastic. We recently moved into a house in Ladera Ranch, which had a previous problem with pinhole leaks. No water treatment had taken place and an epoxy coating had been applied to the pipes. Shawn was fantastic. We wrestled with different water treatment options for softening and filtration. He was patient, understanding, and completely transparent. I started my water softening search about 2 months ago, when we first moved into our new home in Yorba Linda. I was concerned about the the hard water in this area as I began to notice that my home had a lot of build up and sediment around the faucets. We installed a water line from the sink to the fridge which has a basic carbon filter. But even then, the quality of water isn't up to par as I would have hoped. It was down right embarrassing to serve ice water to my guests when you can clearly see particles floating around the glass. I went into this open minded, but also knew what I was getting into. My search began with the local plumbers. I contacted about 3 of them asking for more information regarding a water softening solution. - They did not return my phone calls nor schedule an appointment to come out - They viewed all water softening solutions as one in the same - They charged around $700 or so to install the units that I would purchase on my own - They lack a guarantee in work. This is my biggest pet peeve. I want to know that I can count on someone when shit hits the fan Local retail stores - Big box retailers didn't really care for it. As I said, it's all the same unit to them - I went to Biard & Crocket in in Santa Ana. They were pushing me to get their 6 stage filter system which costs about $1,800. They would install it, but depending on the scope of work at my home. They could potentially have to charge more for it. This is a big red flag in my book, since I can't get an upfront cost nor were they willing to come out and scope the work. This could mean I would be looking at $1,800+ installation. They also recommended I just get a local plumber to install it. Going back to my initial note that a local plumber would be $700. I then reached out to Shawn regarding a water solution. He answered all of my questions via email and phone call and was very patient with me as I continually had more questions. He came onsite to my house and went through what the installation would actually be. Let me be clear, he did not sell me on a system. He educated me on the process. Their was not fear under doubt approach as I would typically get from other folks pushing their own units. The turning point for me was the reality of the situation. I opened up my sediment filter tied to my tankless water heater. It was a dark bronze/brown/black color. Completely disgusted by it. I then called Shawn to schedule the installation. Thankfully, he responds rather quickly and set me while he was on vacation Installation Hugo came by to my house at about 10:30am to start the work. Shawn accompanied him to go over what we had discussed we would be doing and what the day would look like. Hugo is a complete professional and did a fantastic job. Quality of work is important and he took his time to make sure things were done in a clean fashion. At the end of it, he walked me through need to know items before leaving. Note: if you plan on installing an RO system that is connected to your fridge. Might be best to find out if you need a bypass filter for your ice maker. Just a thought I chose to go with the Nuvia Pro in my installation and could not be happier. Quality of water during showers, washing dishes and laundry is noticeably different. If you're expected to get sticker shock at the initial price. Don't let this deter you from choosing this system. It's really the quality you will be receiving in the long run and overall costs savings. Expect to use less water, less soap, less purified bottled water, less brita filters, less fridge filters. It's a no brainer in the long run and Shawn is great at educating you through it the whole way. read more

I spent a good 6 months researching water softeners and was starting to get overloaded with information. Do I go with a salt system or a salt free system? Do I go with a system that doesn't use electricity or one that does, etc. Shawn @ Waterwise Solutions came over and patiently explained the differences of the systems without talking about specific products which made me feel that I wasn't getting "sold" on a system. I have been wanting a water softener and reverse osmosis for a couple of years. However my husband was not as convinced. We recently purchased a home with a tankless water heater, which made both of us want to start investigating a home water softener system. After researching several water solution companies, and interviewing several people we finally decided to choose Waterwise. Shawn was informative and also very easy to work with. He is not only efficient but also very customer service oriented. As for the Nuvia water system so far we have had it for one month and it is working beautifully performing all of the functions Shawn explain to us during our meeting. I can't say enough kind things about what a good experience it was to work with Shawn and his team. Shawn came out the same day we reached out and listened well to our needs. We had a different request that what most people probably want with water filtration. He did a great job of giving us options and also a solution that would address our needs specifically -- while not trying to overcomplicate with other options. We did the water filter install right after repiping our house. Shawn was kind to coordinate with them on details to ensure the pipe loop was in place correctly. The county inspector was supposed to inspect the repiping work in our house (unrelated to the filter) later in the day after Shawn's team installed the filter.
