The response was immediate and within 24 hours the problem was fixed at a very reasonable rate. I then requested an estimate for a new system. I couldn't be happier with the overall experience. Matt patiently explained the options to me, including the tax credits for two of the options. There was no pressure to buy the most expensive system. Scheduling happened soon after I made my selection. The service technicians (John and Ben) were on time, very pleasant, and courteous. John took the time to provide instructions before they left. They took the old system away, and left a clean work site. I wasn't asked for payment until the job was done. Follow-up technical questions regarding specifics of the units were handled adroitly by Steve who even provided a manufacturers manual for me to reference regarding how this particular brand unit was engineered as I had not heard of Heil before. Coupled with the 10 year warranty and commonality with parent Carrier at a substantial discount was what sealed my decision. Installation was performed by Derek and several assistants as scheduled with an unusual issue being taken care of to ensure our comfort over a long weekend. We have had our units for about a month resulting in noticeably quieter and efficient operations of our new system compared to previous. While initially a good experience things derailed quickly. After pointing out some damage done to…read moremy driveway and sheetrock after our ductwork was replaced, the company's employees got very defensive very quickly. I was not pointing fingers, but simply trying to determine what contractors were at fault. Gochnauer's employee Brian S. sent me the following e-mail verbatim: "I cannot believe the gall you have to even think this, let alone say this, Judd. We showed you proof the driveway was not us. And I paid for the ceiling we also did not do with proof. I let that ceiling go because it was already done. I am paying for that, personally, not the company or my guys because they didn't do it. Do not email me again." Really? This is how they treat their customers who just gave them two jobs and paid close to $10K. I will not do business again with such a thoughtless company nor should you. I called to speak to the owner today but I got a call back from the GM who never once provided an apology. Bush league company! Maybe I will dispute the last job they did since now I was told to not e-mail them again. Here is another quote from Brian S. regarding the sheetrock: "THANKS FOR THE INFORMATION. IF YOU BELIEVE THE SHEETROCK WAS TRULY DAMAGED ON SATURDAY, SOUNDS LIKE WE DID IT SINCE WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE THERE THAT DAY. I CAN HAVE SOMEONE TAKE CARE OF THE SHEETROCK IF YOU AGREE." - So he owns up to doing it in this quote but then says he didn't do it later. As for the driveway, it was recently poured and damaged during the install. It was done by either the HVAC company, spray foam company or ductwork install crew. Nobody will own up to it. Contractors around Bluffton have a bad reputation for a reason. Be careful who you choose.

We were impressed that Dyess responded within hours to the complaint that the toilet was leaking again already...and Rick resolved the problem, explained what happened and recommended we get a water softener as the root of the problem was disintegrating seals due to chlorine--he educated us on RO improving water and health and went above and beyond to ensure we wouldn't have any near term problems and suggested new toilets and an RO when our budget permits.
