What I did notice is that chocolate is ridiculously expensive and with all that I've learned about chocolate, I can't help but wonder if it's even chocolate. I didn't ask either... all I know for sure is that everyone says this place has the best chocolate in town so I'm here buying a few basket stuffers. Before coming here, I stopped at Fowler Chocolates around the corner and no one was there so this place must be the place to buy chocolate. I watched the ladies at the registers ask everyone before me if they were rewards members and when they said no, they asked if they'd like to be. They forgot to ask me though. I overheard someone say it was 10 percent off today, must've been for members only, I didn't get a discount. I will be enjoying my dark chocolate tonight though, thank you Wahl's.

I even got to try a sample of the peanut butter sponge clusters before purchasing which was great. The loganberry sponge is good but it tastes more like a raspberry to me than the traditional loganberry. It was still good and their sponge candy is some of the best I've ever had. It's perfectly sliced and covered on every corner so there are no dry spots. Very good production on the candy pieces.

Parking is on the street, but usually you can find a spot even during their busy times.

The girl working was very sweet and helpful to make sure the ice cream was also gluten free for me. They had a few picnic tables outside to sit at and enjoy. There was a cooler with tons of treats available to purchase and there is also a gift shop located in the lower part of the store. It was a great stop and I'll be back soon!

They had a big banner hanging out front that said they sold Buffalo's famous sponge candy, so I knew I had to stop in. This small family-owned candy shop looks like it's been a neighborhood staple for years. It's been open since 1947! The sweet older lady at the counter was very welcoming to us as tourists, and even offered plenty of free samples for us to try. Now that I've tried it, I will say that sponge candy isn't my favorite. But we wanted something uniquely Buffalo to take home, and ended up purchasing a few variety bags. They also sell chocolates in pretty little designs and cookies too, all handmade! I couldn't resist a flower-shaped chocolate on a stick, which set me back about $2.50. I enjoyed it on the plane and it was very good chocolate. If you want to support a local business and shop local, Ko-Ed Candies is the place! There's limited street parking and it's located in the middle of a residential neighborhood, so be aware that it may be difficult to find a spot on busy days.
