Hi yall! If you're in the wedding industry, or even…read moreconsider bridal shows- avoid Forever Yours Bridal Show. They also go by One Event at a Time. They had a bridal show scheduled for the fairgrounds in February, and moved it to August 17th with no notice to us (blamed it on not having the correct email) it got "fixed" and we had communication after. I confirmed with the fairgrounds they were moving the contract to august 17th. Originally, I couldn't do this date & requested a refund (which I was ignored) so processed via PayPal. PayPal denied even though it was G&S and said they didn't protect that type of transaction. (I guess for an event) So, we decided we'd move the schedule around to make the August show. This is the sign we showd up to Sunday morning when we went to set up. When I emailed the company, I got the runaround, and they blamed the venue. Since I had previously spoken with the venue, I reached back out to see what happened & they said the show producers had failed to fulfill contractual obligations & they had been trying to contact them for MONTHS with no answer, and told them last Sunday it would be cancelled. The shows story was "We showed up to locked doors at showtime with no notice" but i have confirmed thats not the case. The show is refusing to give vendors money back, and has since blocked me from their page, and turned off mentions since they're being called out. The cheapest booth option was $575, so who knows how many vendors aside from myself and the one I had the pleasure of meeting as we stood in disbelief have been scammed.

An elderly woman was apparently having her funds misappropriated by a relative. Family members…read morewent to court to protect her. A court-appointed neuro-psychological expert evaluated her using extensive objective testing, and found her to have major cognitive deficiences, to lack competency to oversee her finances or personal care, to be subject to undue influence by the relative taking her funds and to need a conservator to protect her. The relative accused of misappropriating her funds took her to Iowa and paid Dr. Bender at the Orr Memory Center to evaluate her. Bender interviewed the woman, producing a two-page "Mental Status Examination." He reported that the woman was "completely normal," and "functioning at a very high level." Back home, the court investigator examined Dr. Bender's report and concluded that "Dr. Bender's report does not contain usable information." The court appointed a conservator to protect the woman and manage her finances. Although the Orr Memory Center purports to consult on competency related to the legal process, this evaluation provided by the Center was not professional in quality and did not employ the kind of standardized testing that courts require to determine whether a person does or does not have capacity to make their own decisions and whether they need to be protected through a conservatorship or guardianship. It was inappropriate for the Orr Center to issue the "Mental Status Examination" without applying any recognized testing to the patient, without researching the context of the case, without reviewing court documents or the prior neuro-psychological examination of the woman, and relying for information entirely on the family member accused of financial abuse.
