I cannot recommend Waveform highly enough. Our DJ Ryan was phenomenal. We told him we wanted the wedding basics but also we love lesbian pop. He fully came through. The lighting was everything I could have dreamed of. I have literally never been to a wedding with a DJ as good as Ryan. Other DJs I looked at that I thought would be similar quality were asking for $1k-$2k more than Waveform. Additionally, many other DJs I met with charged a ton for different add-ons. The dance floor was packed the whole night everyone from my 5 year old ring bearer to my 70 something mother-in-law was having a great time. He also did a great job of emceeing. Ryan is professional, kind, and theatrical in a good way. He knows when to step into the light and when to step out. Waveform provided the DJ and Lighting for our wedding and they exceeded all our expectations. Our wedding was 2 days, with a Indian ceremony and a Western ceremony, and our DJ, Ryan, excelled at providing music and being an amazing emcee at both. We had a couple specific bits we wanted (introducing our groomsmen as the '96 Chicago Bulls, having a funny blurb for introducing our bridesmaids, among others) and Ryan did a great job at everything. We also had them do our lighting for our Western ceremony, and it elevated the experience for everyone. Waveform Events was absolutely wonderful to work with. We originally booked them for our backyard wedding reception in Redlands, CA for May 2020; after having to postpone twice in 2020 due to the pandemic, Waveform Events generously gave us until October 2022 to use their services. Our original DJ, Martin, was able to come out to our home in Oceanside, CA, this past weekend for our backyard baby shower event. He was incredibly professional and kind--and showed up two hours ahead of the party to set up his equipment to make sure everything went smoothly. Our guests loved the music and how responsive Martin is to requests. He played everything on our personal requests lists and gracefully avoided playing anything on our do-not-play list as well. My husband and I hired Waveform for our wedding in April and they were amazing. We were so fortunate to be referred to Waveform Events by our wedding coordinator. Martin Felipe and his assistant seamlessly executed the music for our ceremony and reception and were very knowledgeable about the rules surrounding shuttle transportation/setup at our venue (Temecula Creek Inn). I have to admit, one of my fears as a bride was that no one would dance at our reception and that people would leave early. My now-husband and I have very different tastes in music and I wondered if blending them would be awkward. That was absolutely a non-issue-- people started dancing while we waited for dinner to be served and the floor was PACKED until the very last song of the evening. Martin was excellent at reading the crowd to determine his song choices while also staying true to what we wanted for our big day. We trusted all of his suggestions and he certainly did not disappoint. I should also mention how flexible and accommodating he was. We made some last, LAST minute changes to our timeline and song choices-- he incorporated them flawlessly. If you take one thing from this review, know that Martin's goal is to make YOUR vision for your event a reality. Finally, it is so clear to me that the people at Waveform Events love what they do because Martin and his assistant looked like they were having FUN while they worked at our wedding. We hired Waveform to be the DJs for our daughter's Bat Mitzvah party. I am seriously thinking of what other events I could possibly throw so that I can hire Waveform Events (having a second kid is out of the question...). But, a big birthday party could be in the works. Seriously, folks, from start to finish, Waveform Events DELIVERED. Working with Martin and Ryan was a great experience! We met with them twice at the Huntington Beach office for planning purposes. It really helped that they are familiar with the our traditions. The price was fair and reasonable and their communication is outstanding. Emails are answered in a timely manner, questions are promptly addressed. Their planning website is easy to use and we were able to add songs after our second planning meeting quite easily. FOLLOW Waveform on Instagram so that you can see the magic that they create with their uplighting talents. Well into the planning process, I kept seeing these magical pictures of the most beautiful events so we decided to add uplighting for our party. They created the most beautiful glow in the room and as one of my daughter's friends told his mom, "It was a NICE party, you know mom, NICE, NICE!" Ryan, Martin and Tiffany arrived early and were already playing music when we arrived in the room. The mood was already set for a fantastic evening. My daughter made her grand entrance and we immediately launched into a spirited Hora with my kid bouncing up and down on the chair and the Israelis whistling and cheering. The dance floor was PACKED - mostly with people who had NEVER done the Hora before. THEY LOVED IT. Ryan and Martin created a great vibe during this very special dance. The rest of the evening was filled with games for the kids, trivia questions for the kids to go to their buffet, dancing for kids and adults and incredible music. No one wanted the night to end - one kid told his mom to pick him up AS LATE AS POSSIBLE because it was such a fun party. First things first, if you are considering getting married and using a DJ, YOU MUST GO WITH WAVEFORM EVENTS! Upon a recommendation from a co-worker, we met with Martin and he blew us away right our of the gate. He made a great point - there may be slightly cheaper options available, but they are most likely part-time DJs who will not make your event personal or memorable, just announce a few names and play generic tunes. That's not the case with Martin, his team, and Waveform Events, as every step they took was to ensure that they made this a personal experience from start to finish. We were able to setup four separate meetings with Martin to discuss exactly what we wanted, and his communication is top notch - responds to a text within minutes, or an e-mail within the day. During these meetings, he got to know us on a personal level - his package includes a rating system to determine your musical likes/dislikes, lists for "Must Play" and "Do Not Play," a "timeline" planner for the actual day-of events (this saved our lives!), personal questionnaires to get to understand our personalities better, and a separate sheet for the introductions of our family members and wedding party members. We decided to go with the "High Tide" Package, providing us four hours of coverage from Martin himself and a teammate. He was on-time to our venue, and setup and ready to go well before our Grand Entrance. The best part of working with Martin is his genuine nature and his ability to actually understand the situation and go with the flow - actually "DJ" rather than playing a set playlist, getting a feel for the crowd, the hour in the night, and the energy in the room. We listen to a lot of electronic music, and he saved those for the closing hour, playing high energy music and hitting all our "Must Plays." It's hard to trust a review in this day and age, but our wedding would not have had the high energy and memorable moments without Martin Felipe and Waveform - thank you so much for being an integral part to our amazing night.
