I was looking for a detail and car wash place near my home since I desperately needed it after the terrible winters we had. Salt stains were a major factor in my black carpet. I saw this in the top 5 list on city voter. So chose it and was convenient. The wash was speedy. Greeted by an attendant with a great spirit and great sense of humor. He cheered me up. They check u in and pay and your on your way. The line may be long but it moves quickley. They have 2 people drying off the excess wetness on your car after you come out. They need to make sure that you don't have anymore dirt marks that are showing or sud residue. I then park the car and go inside and check in. Any questions I had about services were answered check. There is seating in room but not enough. So wait can be uncomfortable. They have bench outside good if not cold, windy. or raining outside. I got interior clean and detail. Wait wasn't too long. Was told car was done and asked to come out to check inside. I looked at carpet stains out and looked black again. Told weather mats in trunk and trunk cleaned. I was about to leave but stopped while outside and checked thoroughly again. Turns out foot pads and left area where left foot can rest were still covered with Sandy salt remains and in crevices of that area on drivers foot bed. The window of where speedometer etc...were streaky, vents were still dusty and insides of doors and back of seats still streaky of dirt and salt grime. I had to call a guy out and he touched up with brush and rag. It was ok after touch up. Nice of him to clean up problem. When I got home I popped open trunk and it was not vacuumed, still had plastic wrap that i had left in there from product I had opened and floor mats were filthy still. Looked like were quick sprayed but not scrubbed or had any cleanser on it to take out tough grime. Also I noticed that the crevices along sides if trunk close were not touched. Then noticed sudsy stain remains and some dirt remains on back of trunk. I realized that going there for a wash and park and vacuum may be a better deal. Nothinh like doing it yourself. Pro is staff is super friendly and tires still shine bright. Cons are that car needs to be checked thoroughly by a supervisor or head person before even asking customer if job looks ok. Really a customer shouldnt hv to look over for flaws of cleaning process they should be able to drive away w confidence !!! Ps I shouldn't have to clean my mats at home. $85 is a high price to pay if not everything is thoroughly complete !!! read more

This is not a bad little (not so) hidden gem on VFW. I've driven past it before but their signs that say $29.99 (per month) were kind of misleading before because I had just assumed it was $29.99 for one car wash. Holy luxury car washes, batman. So I always passed up on it. I went once with my brother and their basic wash is, I believe $10 or $12. Not bad at all. The premium is $15, which I got done. They ask if you want to tack on an extra $5 to get your car waxed. Also not a bad deal. I got that done as well. The person who takes your "order" was pretty nice too. So all in all, a good experience with a nice air PLUS hand dry & wax right after. read more

All they do is wash the outside of your car and they try to upsell you on a monthly membership before you've even had a chance to see what they do. To top it off you have to wait forever. Signed up for the unlimited extreme car wash. My car was covered in salt from this weekend's drive out on the highways so I probably should have gone in a second time to really get the salt off. End result was several salt stains appearing on the front and back of car. Aside from that it looked clean. Not sure whether it's worth washing it again the next day given that the extreme wash includes a wax. read more

After using several detailers in the area and never being satisfied with the results I tried Waves (we have a black vehicle that shows all the swirls & imperfections) I spoke with Adam the owner and he suggested a buff and wax and scheduled an appointment for the following day. When I dropped off the car I asked if they could treat the front leather seats and remove expired city parking stickers, vacuum, and clean the windows - The employee said no problem at all. The best part is when I picked up the car it looked brand new (the car is seven years old) and they only charged me for the buff & wax. He was overly aggressive and very dismissive of my issues. He is more interested in getting you out of his hair then he is with keeping customers happy and addressing relevant concerns. The guys drying my car were the most unprofessional idiots I have ever seen. One guy was aggressively taunting me making barking sounds and then mocking me saying "ok done" (after drying half my car) like I was a person with down syndrome. Management should fire the 3 guys that were drying about an hour ago on the spot. I could not be the only one they were doing this too. They are looking to lose customers and cause workers comp injurys to themselves when somebody gets out of the car and punches them in the face or worse. I will never come back here again. read more

IN SHORT: avoid at all costs for detailing and only use if you're in the area and need a basic car wash. I used to live in West Roxbury so these guys were very convenient for me. I still work in Newton so heading over at lunch isn't that big of a stretch. I've used them several times to get just a basic vacuum and wash, and they are perfectly fine for that (which is the only reason I even gave them 2 stars, instead of 0 or 1). For detailing, which I had done there, they are borderline awful. It has been a year since I bought my car and figured it was due for a thorough cleaning and not just a basic vac and wash so, having had a decent enough experience with the basic wash, I figured I would bring my car there for a full detailing. I went with the $159.00 detailing job and, in total, it took about 2 hours from the time I walked in until I was driving away...no appointment, so that part wasn't too shabby. My problem is this...for $159 (which if you haven't done the research is a fair market price) I expect a very very thorough detailing job...it is called "detailing" after all, no?...and they did an awful, maybe mediocre (if I'm being kind) job...especially for that amount of money, fair market or no fair market. They missed several spots on my windows and left compound ALL OVER MY CAR...white streaks everywhere...ridiculous...they didn't clean my instrument panel at all and claimed to not be able to get the dried sap off my car (which you can do in 5 minutes or less with non-acetone nail polish) unless I paid for a buffing...which would take 5+ hours and cost an additional sum of money. AVOID GETTING YOUR CAR DETAILED HERE!!! There are TONS of other places you can bring your car for a detailing for the same price, if not cheaper and get a more thorough job done. Check Craigslist, there are companies out there that will come to your driveway and do it there so you don't even have to waste gas or time (some even bring their own water!). Had a terrible experience there .The location is terrible and entering from a busy highway feeder is dangerous. There is no signage to direct you to where you need to go. They only have three usable vacuums unless you are a premier customer. and will not let you wait for them when being used. There is no actual space to wait for the next person to finish. I was told there were other vacuums on the other side, after I paid, but when I got there the vacuums could not be used at all because they were are used as parking spots for people having their car. These guys put in both the time and effort to clean my car. However there was one heck of a wait time, I guess when I saw that I knew this place was good. In general I have positive experience with this wash over past years. This morning I took my Acura for Extreme wash after return from Montreal trip, a bit disappointed with the service. The wash Attendant did not soak rear windshield and bumper with soap water before car enters wash run as they would usually do, especially with the car being quite dirty and muddy. He started the wash routine and just left !.. as a result wash didn't turn out good and I had to do quite a bit of cleaning after I came back home.. As a long time customer of this wash facility I'd want to think that this is not a service degradation but probably a one off incident.. certainly would like the owner to address it going forward.. as simple attention to such small details would result in a great wash at the end and a happy customer who'd return back. read more

Look: you are simply not going to find anywhere else $29 a month for unlimited car washes (with Rain-x and their top exterior cleaning moves). What I also appreciate is that WAVES is run by a group of fairly young entrepreneurs, which means that they will work for your business. Scheduling online was clear and simple, and everyone I encountered from the attendant to the manager were warm, cheerful and efficient. Got their top 'Extreme' package, and first time thru my wheels looked only half washed. Two other washes in town have never had a problem getting my wheels clean. Waves did send me thru again, and did an extra manual pre-spray, but still the wheels had smears on them. The attendant tried to say it was likely baked on brake dust, then bent over to demonstrate only to have the dust came off easily with his finger. I asked them to do a quick wipe of the wheels for me, but they said they were too busy. So at home I simply used two sheets of dry paper towels and easily wiped off the dust. For cleaning and detailing- Terrible- young kids working there that had no pride in their work. They put loads of armorall on my dash, which is black, causing extreme glare. They also got the armorall all over the windshield. They did not clean the console at all. My car is a 2 door coupe- not very big and really not too dirty. I was not impressed at all. read more

This car wash is well worth going out of your way for! I have not encountered a better one in Greater Boston! The strong points are the dedication to customer service and customer satisfaction. I tip the employees every time based on great customer service. Many of the employees know and greet me by name even though I am not there that often. THe owner is very hands-on and involved in the store. I agree with the other reviews. Obviously, an automatic car wash will not get every stain and spot off. What I do is to get an "exterior hand wax" done 3 or 4 times a year. This is a $45 service and in my mind a bargain that is well worth it: you get a full wash and dry and then a hand application of wax after a careful look around the car to remove any remaining stains (using some solvent to remove parking space paint marks and goo). THe intensive interior services are well worth it too. I recently sold a car - prior to selling it I had Waves do an intensive interior clean and exterior detailing and I got top dollar for it. read more

I Love this place not only that they have all new equipments but good customer service too. Every time i got my car washed there they've always done a great job. Even a week later my car always looks cleaned & shiny i definitely feel like i get my money worth there. Plus last week i accidentally lost my membership card, i went there and explained the situation to Jonathan the Manager to see if he could look up my account by the credit card # i used to purchase my membership. Unfortunately he was not able to track it down that way; however he was very nice and understanding about the situation. He then gave me two gift cards= two extreme washes which worth a total of $40! I felt so grateful by his generosity and excellent customer service. I was shocked! Because these days Companies/Corporations are no longer doing these kinds of stuff anymore; they're all about profits. First off I had to get a re wash due to the excess of wax left on my car, then the wait, but ultimately my rims were scratched badly - while being directed into the bay. I really enjoy washing my car at Waves. Great customer service and super handsome associates. If either my Forester or my Outback don't come out clean, they wash and/or vacuum the cars again. I've gotten my car detailed there a few times and I have to pay a little extry because I drive a station wagon but its worth it. My wife's car (the Forester) is absolutely filthy but she doesn't care about it so we've never sprung to get her dog hair'ed, coffee stained, baby pooped mom-mobile cleaned. I'm a slob myself but they kept my car looking like I'm not. When I bring my car in for them there are crumpled receipts scattered everywhere, dunkin donut breakfast sandwich crumbs covered every inch of exposed surface, dead hookers in the trunk, greasy finger prints smeared all over the glass, etc. The detail staff works miracles. First time yesterday. Tried the "Extreme" wash for $19 as opposed the regular wash of $8. I was not impressed. My car was a mess with all the salt spray and road grime. I was hoping the undercarriage wash would at least clean out the "whitened wheel wells" (mind you my car is BLACK) For the money it wasn't worth it. The $29 per month is a hook and bait because they want you to drop down your credit card and be on contract for a year. Sure mind you all the washes you can have per month for $29 isn't a bad deal if you live close by and it's convenient to go at least once a week. Granite car wash in Quincy is still my favorite. At least I'm not rushed to get out of there during the drying wipe down period. read more

I'm a local. Was glad to see it open a few years ago as there aren't many car washes in the area. I like to support local small business owners, but I can't do so at Waves any longer. The washes don't match other car washes in terms of removing basic dirt and dust and the people doing the towel drying do a lackluster job. But, it has gotten most off and I like to take care of my car. The staff has never been customer-focused, but I've put that down to lack of training and poor management. Today, I needed to interact with "management" to resolve an issue and wow, I was treated very poorly and with disdain. There's a difference between being OK with receiving a substandard wash due to limited options versus being poorly treated by a staff member unable to maturely handle a basic customer concern. I'm sure they will think it a triumph that I will never return. I've had enough of subpar outcomes, upselling attempts, and rude treatment and have no problem believing the arrogant and snide treatment others describe here as I experienced it first hand. If you are thinking of opening a car wash near Waves, I encourage you to do so. There's a whole customer base waiting for you! To beat Waves, at minimum you will just need to say please and thank you, basic things my toddler can do but is beyond the grasp of those at Waves. read more

Today was my first visit to Waves and I will not be returning. The salesman at the front booth (we arrived around noon) was extremely rude to my husband and I because we did not want to purchase a monthly plan. When he asked if we were interested, I said no and he stated "I was not asking you I was asking him." I told him it was my car and he seemed surprised!!! He then said it was a bad joke - I was shocked. He was extremely condescending and we will never be back. Stay away from this place ladies!!! I would not even give this place one star. read more

Best prices for detailing of cars. They have the best set up in the area for a quick detail of the car that makes it sparkle. The staff is great. The one thing that is annoying, but I understand, is the charge for dog hair. It is quite subjective. But regardless, a great experience and place. Highly recommend their managers special detail.
