As a resident of Austin, I generally go to the Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels. While visiting Corpus Christi, the hubby and I decided to check this place out. Right off we noticed, this one is about a quarter size of the one in New Braunfels. There are only a few bigger water rides and their Lazy River - winds around the park, is not that big. There is a decent sized area for the kids to play in but other than that - this location is not that impressive at all and really not worth the entrance price. There is not much in the way of food choices here either which was a disappointment as well. What we did like about this location is that the staff is extremely nice, everyone we spoke to or had interactions with were knowledgeable as well as helpful. The lockers are decent as well But all in all, I believe we will continue to make the Shlitterbahn in New Braunfels our "Go To" water park destination. read more

This review is solely based on the Schlitterbahn waterpark itself and not the hotel/resort. We purchased tickets online thinking it would be faster... it wasn't. Purchased online at 7am, I didn't get an email with my tickets till 6:58pm after we were LONG GONE from the park. Thankfully during purchasing we opted to create an account so we were able to go back in and see the tickets purchased and present them at the ticket counter. The waterpark itself is mostly different lazy rivers. I was expecting much more for the $160 price tag for a family of 4. Service definitely lacks.. Every time we would ask a staff member for direction we would get a dumbfounded look and a finger point(in the wrong direction). The only true positive I can think of is the fact there's 2 swim up bars. We won't be back. I don't encourage you to waste your money. read more

This is the best place to stay in Corpus Christi! The staff is just wonderful! Rooms are clean and comfy. The food at the Veranda was great and the prices are very reasonable. Food portions are very good and very tasty! We ate dinner both nights we were there and also ate at the breakfast buffet Sunday morning and we were very satisfied. IF there was anything I could suggest it would be to add a coffe shop (like Starbucks) for all the coffee lovers lol read more

Had we known that this place is geared toward elementary aged kids we would have opted not to come. This Schlitterbahn is not on par with the ones in New Braunfels or Galveston. In fact it's not even on par with the Splashtown water park near our home. The water rides here just don't deliver the same thrill. There's not even a torrent or wave pool. Just some low level river simulations. If your kids are age seven and below this might be fun for them. If not you might want to skip this as its not worth the price. We are glad this park wasn't the only reason we came to Corpus. We wound up having a really nice time at the aquarium and the beach. read more

Midst of rebranding but we were excited to snag a room at the last minute as we headed down on a Saturday morning. Being that we wanted to be close to port a and did not realize until we got there that it was also sand fest.. booking.com literally said corpus was 99% booked... so the $260 total for one night was in line with the next closest corpus hotels. Neat building and rooms. We enjoyed drinks in the bar. recommendations: hoping they include new signage in the remodel because it was hard to find the front desk among the park, hotel and membership desk. Would like a quick run through at check in of where everything is.. there was a movie showing but we really didn't know where it was or how to pay for it... Saw a sign for spas and people on the driving range... hooding we can get more information about these amenities if we stay in the future. read more

WAVES RESORT WAS AWESOME!! Our annual SuperBowl Poker party needed to relocate due to the renovations at the house. Epicuria at Waves Resort went above and beyond! I can't say enough positive about every aspect. Food, service, communications were excellent. Best pizza and nachos on the island- hands down! We had a group of 21. Kudos to Christy, Donna and Jose - our wonderful server! we are very lucky to have this great restaurant on our island! read more

Let me just say this place is amazing for adults there is a full bar at the heated pool so you can drink and watch your kids pay and their is a pub for adult with draft beer and also a bar in the game room. which is a legit gaming room. July 17, 2016 took my wife and 13 year old son. Considering the price we paid, we were very disappointed in the number of rides that were available. Something I noticed that struck me as odd, even though everything is new, all the metal is already beginning to rust, or is severely rusted. Being this close to the Gulf, I had hoped the people that built the resort would of used the proper materials for the environment in South Texas. We also noticed large numbers of plants that had perished due to dehydration. Did they forget the watering system too? The overall design of the park is just off. Kind of difficult to express in words, but it's like a hodgepodge of poorly implemented designs, hastily thrown together by the cheapest bidder. I will end this review on a good point, the staff were very friendly, courteous, and helpful. We have been to 3 other Schlitterbahn locations, and they were amazing. The Corpus Christi location is not on par with its siblings. To sum it up, too expensive, very little to do, and shoddy craftsmanship makes this resort a, "No Go" until they improve it. Schlitterbahn's newest location. The park is new and obviously in great shape. Mid July and I would guess at less than 50% of capacity. The rate was $225 per night, which for the area isn't bad considering we had 7 passes to the water park. The restaurant was good and reasonable on price. We spent two nights and so had three days of park passes. This park would be great for younger kids. We then drove up to the main resort at New Braunfels and we wished we could go back. The Corpus park is smaller but they still have plenty to do to keep our three teenage boys happy. The crowds just aren't there, making the facility much more pleasant to hang out at. read more

Stayed here for a tournament. This was during the winter, so the Waterpark was closed. Which was not a big deal. The check in area was small there was a few other families there and it was crowded. The room was nice, but no windows which was very different. No coffee pot in the room either, not nice people! No humidity also so that is a plus. when ever you stay at a beach hotel you can always feel the humidity & in this hotel that was not the case. The light though in where the sink is horrible. It was hard putting on make up. I had to go to the lamp and try to put my makeup on with better light with my compact mirror. We also got only 1 soap and it was tiny. I mean tiny! I have small hands so the pic says it all. There was 4 of us and my boys are late teens so I was very glad there was a CVS across the street to buy a bar of soap. The hotel was nice. They did have some ceiling tiles that had water damage. The interiors were nice. They had old Shlitterbahn pictures of New Braunfels in the hall ways and rooms, it was a good touch. Staff was young and friendly. We may stay there again. Maybe in the summer to enjoy the water park. There were good restaurants around that was also nice. read more

Biggest let down I have had in a while. Where do I start... Me and my wife decided to go to a water park for our anniversary, I have never been, so we thought it would be fun. We were pleasantly surprised when we found out that the cost was so low, considering how much the other parks usually are priced. (Read here to get to the point) we were the first to arrive to the park on 3/13/16 and began walking around. We then noticed that the pool surrounding the stage was not filled up, and most of the rides were closed. The only slide they had was fun, but upon further inspection we were starting to wonder what was going on. The only thing we were really able to do is go to the 3 ft pool around the bar... I could do that at my hotel, for free. We were in the park for around 30 minutes when we decided this was not worth the money and asked for our money back. The staff was friendly about that, but we should have been informed that only a few things were opened. We ended up going to hurricane harbor and had a blast, for a much cheaper price. read more

We are currently here,and for the last hour plus what I can only guess to be the fire alarm has been going off!!! My husband called down to the front desk with no change in the situation! We have 3 small kids and this has been going on since 2 a.m.!!!! There was A roach in our room. The prices in the park for food is expensive but you can except that at places like this. The lazy rivers were fun And enjoyable. Its a small park like other reviews have mentioned but honestly that's great if you have a big family or small kids so enjoy that part and do not see it as a negative. Its about 6 minutes from mustang island beach which is awesome we did family pictures on the beach while we were here. The location is nice. The life guys were friendly and really sweety to put kids. Park is open but with VERY LIMITED activities. We really were disappointed. We arrived after 3pm to take advantage of the $20 rate, so glad we did. There are not enough things to do for more than four hours. The deepest water is about 3' so there is really not even a pool to stretch out in. The tube chute and lazy river were fun but not exciting. The surfing was fun and exciting. Our family paid $90 for a few hours and that was enough. Been to several Schlitterbahns across TX. This one was very clean, rather small, but still entertaining. The age is starting to show and one ride was shutdowj, but still a great experience for the whole family. It doesn't compare to New Braunfels home park, but absolutely still worth doing if staying local. read more

Movies outside at night, heated pool with swim up bar, an AWESOME game room with VR, Xbox, etc., a restaurant with the BEST buffalo wings, and the sweetest staff. My family and I love going to waterparks. We have been a couple of times to South Padre Schlitterbaugh and enjoyed it. But we didn't want to make the drive this time and decided to try this new Schlitterbaugh. Glad we did, we had fun! The staff was very friendly and had great customer service. Even as we were floating down the river the lifeguards would ask if we were having a good time or enjoying ourselves. It was nice, instead of ignoring us as we float by. The room was roomy. I liked having refrigerator and microwave in the room. The only problem I had was the kids running back and forth in the room above us at 10 pm. But that was the only problem. Of course. we called and it was fixed. The beach was close and we enjoyed that too. We definitely will do this again soon. read more

The park was clean and quiet. Quiet was good for us because there was no lines for the rides and with small children I didn't have to feel like they could get lost. The golf course was the best part. We finished the park by 4:00 pm then walked to the course. Patrick Kelliher the Golf Professional gave me and my 7 year old a father son lesson. It was affordable and my son who has never taken it seriously started striping it. Best Golf Lesson he or I have ever had. THANKS PATRICK!!! read more

My daughter and grandchildren booked a spring break vacation, from Tuesday through Friday when we arrived the internet was down. We were let into our room with apologies and good service. After walking around pool bar I waited patiently for service , after ordering and ready to pay, I was informed cash only, therefore it was best to tell me first, go to ATM cash only. I complied after a ten minute walk. Finally internet back and we received room keys. Although there was no seats available another person said it's ok to use "reserved table ". We went to our room for the night. Next day we went back to pool lots of music from radio station inviting everyone and anyone to come to waves resort for fun. Next day we went to the beach, however on our last day we went to pool, again no chairs available when a agent from resort along with police officer informed me that in order to sit where I was, it would be a $40 charge even though we were paying guests and purchased drinks, never will I ever return and the plumbing was clogged and I had to use plunger myself, disgusting!!!! Honestly the place was 100 times better with the previous owners. We have visited every summer for the past few years. This year we didn't even stay. Our room wasn't ready by 7pm so we cancelled it and stayed elsewhere. They offered nothing in return for the check in delay prior to us cancelling the room. We arrived after 430 pm on a Thursday. There was no wait, the check in girl seemed very preoccupied She neglected to tell us that the water park was included in our fees, only asked if we wanted bands. No, I don't want a 40 band for 2 hours. She didn't tell us how to get to our rooms, where the restaurant was, or the pool, nothing about the amenities. I had to ask and then she handed me a map. We go to our room and it's a box, no windows. Not one and we're connected to another room with loud people. We do down to ask for a room change to learn it's a 50 dollar per day upgrade. WHAT A JOKE. The following morning I went down to pay for our band for waterpark and she tells me (same girl) oh, it's included in your fees. She says "the person who checked you in should've explained that. I didn't have the heart to tell her it was HER, but by the look on her face mid sentence I believe she realized it. we ask a lady about breakfast. It's 599 for cold and 999 for hot. We go up to look first and it's literally Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, white bread, poptarts for cold And two Warmer trays of god knows what No thanks, horrible. The hotel was okay, the staff sucked, the food at the veranda was okay, the Waiter there was nice Overall I wouldn't recommend, id not go back. Overpriced and underwhelmed. And I want to add the lifeguard staff were very sassy too. Out of 5-6 I spoke with, 1 was remotely polite. It also sucks that the deepest ANYWHERE is three feet I was bored after about 30 min. Only 2 slides, a bunch of rivers. We will not be returning. read more

The park is small as there are only 4 or 5 rides. Yet the its the lazy river that is the best attraction as 3/4 of it is rather fast and moves quickly. The restaurant is good as is the service. We went on a Thursday a few weeks back and there were no more than 100 people at the park. Don't rent a cabana, just go to the back area and there are plenty of them open. You can bring ice chest for food and lunches. read more

Maybe if I was told when I made my reservation for a group of 9 that the park was still under construction I may have given a better review - But since they decided to wait until after we made the 4 hour drive and PREPAID $900(+) for one night for our suite and adjoining room THAT WARRANTS A BAD REVIEW. The children were extremely disappointed. Plus They only took off $10 per ticket but less than a quarter of the park was open. The room was damp- the shower curtain had mold. Staff was nice but most were clueless, we had 6 in our suite and were given 3-4 towels and when I called they said they would see what they could do. And I had to call several times before anyone would answer. Like I said before if it wasn't so expensive and we were told the truth I would have been ok with it. So needless to say we will not come here again or recommend it. read more

My family and I stayed as residents of the resort and participated in the Waterpark. The resort rooms are clean but extremely expensive with paper-thin walls and ceilings. You can hear everything! Also, this place is poorly managed... bars not open on Saturday night, restaurant equipment sitting around everywhere, it's odd. Front desk is managed by kids that never greet or smile at you as you enter the resort. On our first day at the Waterpark there weren't any loungers available to sit in by the pool because everyone was "saving" using a towel. I found ONE and happily sat down. Twenty minutes later, a couple approached me and demanded "their" lounger back and accused me of moving the towel that they had laid down early in the morning to save their spot. I respectfully declined and got called "fat" and "a bitch" because they didn't get their way. They even tried to get the resort staff to remove me from "their" chair even though the pool was empty with saved loungers everywhere. Clearly, my situation became a control issue for these jerks. I was so upset we left the park and the jerks were allowed to stay. Yes, nothing happened to them. We spent $1500 to stay here and will not be returning due to poor management practices. read more

Very disappointing. $40.00 p/p for adults, $30.00 p/p for children and seniors... and 2 of their highest waterslides were not running! When I asked if there would be a reduction in price, I was told that they just found out that morning of the mechanical problem and were not authorized to reduce the price. I live on the island and haven't seen anyone on those rides in many months... We won't be going here. read more
