By far the worse run Wawa in the area (34th St., OC). Morning hours are routinely out of the single pot of regular coffee with no back up. Same with hash browns during the $5 deal. You need to wait for both if you have time but what's the convenience in that? read more

Wawa - Convenience Stores Near Me - Ocean City, New Jersey

While I'm sure that this Wawa fits the bill perfectly on a nice offseason November Thursday, in season especially during a busier time of day like the lunch rush it reminds me why Wawa started building much bigger stores with considerably more parking years ago. Had the pleasure last week of bopping in here twice once around 12:30 and the other time around 2:30 and each time it was more or less the same deal. * Lots of space sharking because the lot holds maybe ten to twelve cars tops and then after that you're parking next door at the CVS. It goes without saying that this is not one of those newer mega stores that Wawa builds with tons of gas pumps and a huge store. If you want that you need to go a few miles away to Somers Point because OC doesn't have one. * Only two real registers in the store and both times only one was open because they seemed partially understaffed and partially all hands on deck with handling the never ending barrage of large food orders. * The area for the food orders like the store like the parking situation is grossly undersized considering the volume of business that they're doing especially in season. * Most of the employees in the food area came off like untrained summer temp help with several asking where's this or where's that or how much of X do I put on this sandwich while things are getting literally slapped together. While it's somewhat not their fault if they're apparently not being trained well/shown where anything is at before being thrown out on the frontlines, it slooooows things down big time. * About the only thing that was alright was if memory serves, there was no island pricing premium like you find at seemingly every other restaurant-store-shop in OC. The price I would have paid for a l hoagie at home was the price I would have paid there. Real estate is no doubt a premium in OC and I doubt that it will ever be affordable to build a mega Wawa in town unless you want $12 shorties but at the same time if you're staying more towards the gardens area of the island you might be better off to drive to Somers Point where as the rest of us staying on the more southern end will just have to drive much farther or simply suffer. read more

Did they maybe take too long on your order because they are so popular and have so many people in line?!? All I wanted was the same delicious sub I had the other day. You ordered pesto spread? Sorry, we decided you wouldn't like it on your hoagie. The chicken is supposed to be cut? Nope, we think you'd rather have huge hunks of it. Tomatoes? Jalapeños? We can throw those on top of said chicken so that they fall off when you pick up your sandwich. Can't mess up buffalo chicken bites, right? Nope, no you can't when there aren't any. At noon. Would you like a breakfast sandwich instead? Nope. It's always busy and always under staffed. The tiny parking lot is a death trap, luckily I can walk there. 5 stars for convenience, 3 for that horrendous sub (it still tasted good, it was simply ugly) and 3 for their general friendliness. Being in this busy location is not ideal if your store does not have ample parking or staff to handle the volume. It seems like this Wawa is always swarmed, any time of the day. I frequently have to park next door in the CVS lot. That's not as big of a deal as the ridiculously slow employees and the fact that there are probably 5 fewer employees than there should be at any given time (definitely in the morning). Like a lot of other people, I stop in here on my way out of town for breakfast and coffee. Like everyone else, I'm in a hurry. You would think the store manager would realize that the morning is peak time and put more people on the schedule (and people who move a little faster). On my last visit, there were only two kids behind the sandwich counter, one of whom was counting out the slices in all the stacks of lunchmeat while the other was the only person making the sandwich orders (and also some of the drink orders). Isn't the lunchmeat inventory something that should be done as soon as the store opens and not during rush hour when everyone's impatiently waiting to get their order and be on their way to work? Also, the sandwiches are frequently just slopped together and messy. They unravel as soon as you open them and everything falls out. You have to ask for a bag and a receipt most of the time (if you don't ask your receipt just gets thrown away). The cashiers are never in a good mood, and there's never enough of the hazelnut coffee in the morning (but there's like 3 dark roasts and 3 regulars). I might have to consider finding another route in the morning when I'm leaving the island, or stopping somewhere else. read more

Typically I love Wawa but my experience here was not the greatest. My dad ordered an egg and cheese on a bagel which was so-so. They have a new egg white menu, so I mistakenly ordered an egg white omelette with spinach, cheese and tomato. It was really poorly assembled and didn't look very appetizing. Now I understand this is a very location but come on... (picture provided). Not very happy but I guess because of the convenience I may come here again but won't be getting breakfast foods from this location anymore though. read more

I consider this a 7-11 on steroids. I only go to jersey once a year and always grab coffee here. The place is always clean, staff is always friendly, and the Italian hero is a pretty good substitute for not having a NY style deli around. read more

This is a clean corporate run establishment with poor quality food. Their deli meats and rolls are of poor quality and their soups certainly are not made from fresh ingredients on the premises. They microwave their breakfast sandwiches. This is all a given - it's a convenience store that sells slurpees. What do you expect? Just don't claim that their sandwiches and "meatballs" and other foods are of a good quality. If I were really hungry, I would drive past and wait till I got home and cook a real meal - or go to the deli and get real meat for sandwiches. Wawa isn't winning awards for their food -- because it sucks. read more
