I usually go to the Long Beach location (even though I live in Culver City), since parking is free there and easier to get. Parking at this location is either metered (hard to get a hold of) or pay by lot (which can run you from $7.00 - $10.00), however it beats paying that than a $63.00-$75.00 ticket. I have been getting my brows done at either European Wax Center or Benefit Brow Bar for a while now but decided to try a new place and I like supporting local businesses. My experience was just okay. The price was right at $19 for a brow wax and trim but I wasn't crazy about the method. My wax specialist was a bit rough in her handling. I would have preferred a gentler touch. The next day the skin around my brows was still red which has never happened to me before. Everyone's different and perhaps my skin didn't agree with the wax but it was unusual for me. Some parts of my leg were worse than other spots and it's soooooo damn irritable + the lady who did my wax she didn't even get my hairs off! Never ever coming back to this place and my holiday is ruined because I have to put up with this irritable rash and this heat does not help. Definitely worth it. Very cute set up and it's clean. I forgot the name of my waxer, she was nice and great technique. It was honestly painless and quick. I usually hate "yellow wax" (strips used to remove the wax) and prefer only hard wax Bc my skin is sensitive and it rips or gets irritated easily with yellow wax. But their wax is not as thick.. it almost appears to be diluted, as strange as that sounds. Either way it was awesome! She made sure She didn't miss any hair..Very impressed. For many, much shyer women, the prospect of laying naked from the waist down with a stranger messing around in your neither-region is not appealing and can be downright terrifying. But the ladies here are friendly, warm and comforting. I was never embarrassed or worried...hell it was one of the less brutal below the waist experiences I've had since moving Downtown. Ladies (and gentlemen, perhaps?), the 5-star reviews are the TRUTH. Wow! I'm so glad I came here and found my new local wax spot. I called for a last-minute appointment after I couldn't get to my usual place in Upland over the weekend. They agreed to see me at 6PM that day for a Brazilian. On weekdays, they stay open until 8, which is nice. I received a text message confirmation too, and you can cancel via text response up to 2 hours before. I walked over after work. The salon is cute, clean, and very Downtown LA. They sell jewelry/trinkets by local artists in the waiting area, and everyone I talked to was incredibly nice. I was waxed by Parada, who is also one of the owners... she was at the front desk and ready to see me at 6PM sharp. Parada was incredibly sweet, thorough, and caring. Especially when trying a new wax salon, it's always JUST a little weird to have a stranger that close to your no-no spot. What I liked about Wax Candy was that Parada told me where she wanted me to lie down, stepped out of the room so I could change, and knocked before coming in. A simple thing, but much more comfortable than other salons I've been to where the esthetician leads you to the room and asks you to strip in front of them. We just met! Parada was very caring, noticed when I felt pain, and told me to let her know if I at any point wanted a break, to scroll on my phone or distract myself, etc. She was very sweet and just fun to talk to. And she was done in less than 30 mins. Price - Only $39! Lower than any other wax I've ever received! I forgot to bring cash to tip, but next time I will. Very competitive, especially for the quality. Signs posted in the different rooms read, "We want you to be happy and hair-free!" If you find any missed spots, you can come back for a re-do.
