I have been looking for a new wax spot since I moved to the north Miami area. I always ended driving to my regular lady in coconut grove because I was hesitant to have someone new perform my Brazilian (for obvious reasons-- it can be a terrible experience if they don't know what they are doing.) Saw a promotion on Groupon, with great reviews (especially for Giselle), and checked out their website. Good reviews and pretty extensive list of services provided with very reasonably priced. I decided to give it a try. I was able to make an appointment online, directly on their website which was convenient. When I arrived front desk girl was courteous. The place clean and well maintained but nothing fancy. Giselle, the technician, was very nice and did a great job with my Brazilian. She was fast, attentive, and kept the pain to a minimum--everything that is important to me! She is also friendly and carries on conversations with her clients to distract them from the pain, which is smart given the circumstances. I will be back for sure, and think I've found my new "regular" spot in NM! read more

UPDATE: The owner claims to not hide behind fake names but rather provides a real phone number if a customer has a complaint. This isn't much help when the owner is so far beyond his own misguided comprehension on how to run a business. He may try to write back with a rude message, which of course, does nothing. Just had a horrible experience. Such a shame when you have people with nasty attitudes representing your business. Had a 4pm appointment, was on my way and got a call at 3:55 from a Marquisha at wax spa to see if I was coming. I tell her I'm on 183, they are on 137 and I should be there in 7 minutes. She tells me sternly if I can't make it at 4pm on time they have other clients they need to see and maybe I should reschedule, so I did for 4:45pm but than called her back to cancel. Well, I was so close I stopped by anyway, got there at 4:04 see no one there waiting, so ask if they can see me anyway and she obviously had a bad day, bad attitude and told me "no, you asked me to cancel so I did". I told her I was 4 minutes late asked her what was up with her attitude? She was not nice. I walked out saying "who wants to to business with people like you anyway?" I was so upset I gave get the finger when I was outside. Well she ran out behind me, left her small child inside and was about to hit me!! I booked an appointment for my girlfriend at 3 PM, arrived at 3:02 PM. Noticed the wax technician outside walking her dog on the way in. When we step in the owner gets all bent out of shape because we're a couple of minutes late. He then tells me that the wax technician is too busy, she does not have time for late clients. Double dipping with same stick on a guest while doing a brazilian wax is unsanitary. Some guest bleed during wax services. I called to say I was running late. Got there 20 mins after my original appointment time. I was told i would be serviced next, if her next appointment is late. However, after i walked in a staff walked in after me to also get serviced. She was 30 mins early for her appointment. They serviced her before me because she was "early" for her appointment. Mean while i was there before her. Senseless rules. I went here because of the Groupon. It was a great deal with the Groupon. The Brazilian is not what a traditional Brazilian covers so I did have to pay $4 more. I had a friendly woman who allowed my daughter to be in the room with me as well. This is helpful for single moms who don't have a sitter during personal grooming. The waxer did a great job. I purchased a Groupon for Wax Spa a few months ago and I'm glad I did. Whenever I book an appointment, I never have any issues with my appointments or anything! I waxed with Caroline (I believe that's her name) a few times and she's excellent and very professional. She makes sure that you are completely smooth when you leave! It's great. You do have to be on time for your appointments, which is understandable since time is money. I've never had any issues with Wax Spa and I'm quite pleased with their service. I had an appointment, but due to Miami traffic, I was running late- I had the courtesy to call the business, TWICE and they told me to still come in. I arrived and the technician proceeded to tell me I wasted her time. Front desk girl just sat there even though she told me to still come in - if they wanted me to reschedule they should have said that on the SECOND phone call I made. I tried to tell the tech I didn't waste her time b/c I still wanted the service- she told me she would NOT do anesthesia and I could've told them how far away I was while driving, mind you I'm in a cast and am driving with one hand....so can't be on a cell phone, drive, check GPS, and call....I'm not sure what professional recommends that?? I purchased a groupon and called to schedule an appointment. I immediately said to the guy who answered that I knew I was calling on short notice ( I called at 4 to make a 5:30 appt.) At 4:30 I realized that I would need to reschedule the appointment so I called asking to reschedule for another day. The same guy tole me "we need 2 hours notice on cancellations so we can't". I didn't even schedule my appointment in the first place with 2 hours notice. He told me there was nothing they would do and was very rude. I contacted groupon and got my money back. If they are rude and unaccomodating on the phone before I even go there, I can't imagine what they'd be like in person. No thanks! Got a few services done. Playboy wax , underarms and lower legs. Also did a full set of lashes. First let me tell you I DON'T UNDERSTAND ALL THE NEGATIVITY! The owner was welcoming, warm and funny. Giselle did my waxes, She was professional and understanding of my cries of pain (mostly I was being a baby) but I dare you not to shed a tear with the playboy, haha. She did all 3 services in less then 30 minutes and explained the aftercare procedure to me. All I can say is to have such a private service done and feel as comfortable as I did is amazing. I feel horrible but I cant remember the girls name that did my lashes but she is amazing, my lashes are full and light, I woke up this morning and kinda freaked my self out getting ready for work cuz I forgot I had them on. They feel so natural. The service was very relaxing and peaceful. Every time I thought she was done she found another spot to add more lol. this woman should be considered a saint the amount of patience she has. I went to the Wax Spa to get a Brazilian for the first time ever. As you can imagine I was a little nervous, but soon as I walked in all the anxiety disappeared. The host made me feel comfortable from the start, and my esthetician, Giselle was super understanding and friendly. You could not pay me to go here again. The receptionist is rude, plain and simple. They advertise a deal on groupon then do a bunch of add ons to hike up the the price. Basically their "Brazilian price" is for what a bikini wax would be then they add $10-$15 for each additional area which most places include. So it ends up coming out to $70+ and then you'll still find hairs she missed.The last time I went there she literally left me bleeding. She didn't say anything when she tore a big patch of my skin off and when I looked I was so confused and I couldn't see close enough so I just left. When I got home my boyfriend took pictures and I was horrified. I called them and left a message for the manager who conveniently wasn't there and never called me back. All of the negative reviews here have a lot in common and I'm not surprised. The way they respond to reviews and complaints is telling of the way they treat customers. Don't waste your money. I gave my info and never got a call back after the managers vacation. I'll gladly send pictures if that means I can get my money back. Adana was great.... I had the playboy bunny wax (Everything waxed off my private parts) and it went well.... I would recommend to my friends... I haven't waxed in a while.... Ive been coming to wax spa for 1-2 years now. Used to like this place. But the guy who works here is really rude. And has no idea what customer service means. I came for the maintenance wax within the 3 week period (they offer 20% off if you pre-book) however I was running late at work so called and pushed my appointment an hour. When I was done they informed me I don't get a discount because I changed my appointment. When I argued and said I'm still within my 3 week period and no one ever told me I couldn't change the appointment, he became rude and obnoxious. If he had understood this time and just told me next time please don't change it because that's our policy I would have completely understood. I've witnessed him be rude to other customers before but never had to deal with him so didn't really care. But I have to say you lost my business as well as my friends. I know he will reply and try to justify, but trust me customer service really says a lot about your business. This is miami theres a million other wax centers, what makes a business go far is its employees. And I can see from past reviews this has been a common problem with "boris". Oh and for those thinking about buying a groupon i've seen him speak to those customers like they're peasants and is even more rude to them. I was nervous and I thought i was going to have a horrible experience based off the reviews BUT I did not. The receptionists was pretty nice with scheduling my appointment and when I got there they were also kind enough to see me before my appointment. Thank God because i came almost an hour early. Yes they did have an additional fee for things the groupon didn't cover but I don't think I paid a dime because I didn't need the additional services or hair removed. Horrible!! Everything about this place. The business is run horribly. First off the "BRAZILIAN" wax is not a Brazilian wax at all. BEWARE GROUPON BUYERS. It's just a way to reel you in to paying more. Groupon is a great way to reel in returning customers, but apparently the owner only cares for the sale of the voucher. Don't plan on wearing a bikini after your "Brazilian wax" from here. They charge $14 EXTRA for the bikini line area and they leave the landing strip in their "Brazilian" wax. Last time I checked Brazilian wax meant the whole area clean, or AT LEAST bikini ready. That is not the case here. Add an additional $14 for bikini ready front (actual Brazilian) and $16 extra for the back strip plus the money you ALREADY paid on groupon. This place is a COMPLETE rip off. I'm disappointed groupon would even allow such a sneaky business to post "vouchers". I could not believe I was paying so much (approx. $30 plus tip) when I had already purchased their "coupon". And customer service? Don't even get me started. Front desk associate is so rude. Worst experience. The owner clearly doesn't care about having a client return, which sucks because I'm a local. After reading the good reviews online I made an appointment for a playboy wax. I also called 5 days in advance to confirm my appointment and to request Ina. When I arrive early for my appointment the front desk receptionist tells me rudely they have no record of my appointment. I had to wait 30 minutes until they were able to do me a favor by fitting me in. The receptionist is stuffing her face with a bag of candy the entire time im waiting. The wax rooms are dirty and not cleaned in between clients. My waxer was named Yolara? She asked me how I found this place for a wax, I told her I wanted somewhere they didn't reuse the wax. She laughed and said, does this wax look fresh like we don't reuse it? She said it's impossible not to reuse wax and very expensive. She said it won't hurt you though. Nice, especially since the website boast they do not reuse the wax. My wax was not great, multiple missed areas and red bumps for 2 weeks after. The price was $36, not bad but definitely not worth it. I will be finding another place to go to. read more

You weren't on the phone with the owner so you wouldn't know that I wasn't begged to do anything I was rudely spoken to for 30 min. The call only ended because I refused to waste 30 more min of my time. I was calmly speaking to the owner and he was becoming hostile 1, and Two to correct your math if you'd care to look on their site or maybe get a better and actual Brazilian wax from European you would know their price is $40-$45. which, is $20 less then what you said . To comment on the 17 second phone call according to my records it was more like 5 min where I asked multiple questions but you wouldn't know. Although, your website is apparently linked to the Groupon It should simply say you will be receiving a landing strip however the fine print did not say That or say that everything else would be extra. It should be said ON Groupon not your site since it is purchased on Groupon. Instead your Groupon is false advertising that you will receive a Brazilian if you'd care to look it up a Brazilian wax clears everything so your service is misleading. The owner himself said he does not like New Yorkers because we are entitled, I don't know what that has to do with my concerns but that's what I was told when asking what else can be done due to the miscommunication. I'm sure everyone can agree that isn't a positive or nice response unless I'm interpreting it incorrectly. He also said it wasn't the first time that issue has occurred so wouldn't you think your the problem ? I also know people who have had unpleasant experiences with this company.
