Everyone was very welcoming, and I was lucky enough to come in on Wine Wednesdays so I got a nice cup of white wine. As for the wax itself, Surita was amazing! She makes sure you're comfortable every step of the way and does a very thorough job to make sure she doesn't miss anything. Every other esthetician I've gone to has resulted in me bleeding a little after the wax, but with Surita I had very little to no irritation. Been coming here to get my brows done since I moved here in January. I cycled through a few cerologists, and Surita was amazing! Unfortunately, it appears she's no longer at this location but I decided to try a new cerologist because I liked coming here. I scheduled a 5:45 appointment with Chelsea and came about 5 minutes late due to unexpected construction near the salon. I apologized profusely but was shocked when they told me they have a "3 minute cancellation policy" and could not take me for my appointment...my options were to come back during their next available time in 90 minutes or be charged a penalty for my "cancelled" appointment. Totally understand that I was a couple minutes late, but to refuse to take me for a quick brow wax seems excessive, especially when the cancellation/late policy is 50% of the appointment cost and the appointment itself is no more than 5 minutes. Every other time I've been here, I arrive on time and usually wait up to 10 mins to be called in, so I'm curious why they chose not to accommodate me. I've never seen any policy in the online booking details that mentions this late policy either. It also should be mentioned that Chelsea was very standoffish and barely said a word to me when I returned for my rescheduled appointment. It was very awkward and uncomfortable. Overall, I hate to post 1-star reviews but this was a very poor experience and I won't be returning. read more

Akilah took amazing care of me! I loved the aloe vera body mask I received after my treatment. My skin left feeling soft and baby smooth. They also have wonderful body scrubs and such with all natural scents like coconut and lavender. This location is so convenient for me but there are different ones all over DFW. Well, this was my first time visiting Waxing The City - I usually go to European Wax - To say the least it was very bad experience for me. I called to schedule an underarm appointment on the fly. I called at 11:52 pm and asked if there was anything available soon. The receptionist informed me that there was a 12 o'clock appointment and to I responded "perfect! I can be there in 10 minutes". She took my information and I was on my way. When I arrived the aesthetician was waiting at the front desk and asked my name to check in. I told her and she asked me to show my underarm to her, (Publicly in the main lobby) - and let's be real girls, hair is very personal. If I was proud of it I wouldn't have it waxed clean off!!!! Then she rudely told me that I would have to reschedule because I was late. Mind you I looked at my phone and it was 12:03. I was like...? I'm three minutes late? The aesthetician was like sorry it is what it is. So I looked over to the receptionist and told her that she should have told me you can't be 2-3 minutes late or you'll lose your appointment. And especially should have told me when I said "I can be there in ten minutes" when we spoke 8 minutes before my appointment time! I bowed out gracefully and didn't try and argue but it was just terrible and messed up my day. It made me feel so embarrassed and anxious I would NEVER go there again. So unprofessional. read more

Absolutely the BEST Brazilian I've ever received. Nia took her time to ensure I was comfortable and all the unwanted hair was removed. The wax they use is really good which contributes to a great removal, but the methods that Nia took really helped relax any tension and anticipation I may have felt; therefore, making it damn near painless. I decided to get a bikini was for the first time before my trip to the beach, I was very nervous, but Courtney made me feel comfortable the whole appointment and explained to me everything there is to know about waxing! I had a lot of questions, And she was patient and knowledgeable. She also suggested a numbing cream before we started which I think helped a lot too. If you're planning on visiting this place ask for Cortney she is great. Facilities: The place was very clean and had different private rooms for waxing. Pretty Kitty can say whatever they want about soft wax but it sucks. Ample parking. We all know that going to a wax appointment with frazzled nerves from no parking is a bad plan. Ellen. Ellen is detail oriented, funny, and just chatty enough. She uses great breathing techniques to minimize discomfort. Twice perfectly waxed in minimal time. Front desk. Easy in, easy out. No hard sales, but they do offer a discount if you go on a prepay plan for the waxes you will probably buy anyway. ($52 p/month instead of $65) Their app. Makes scheduling super easy. Today was my first visit EVER and I was not disappointed! My usual place near home is closed early for the holiday, and I needed to find somewhere closer to work for a last minute appointment. I called during lunch, and they were able to see me after work. This place is located right next door to Cork and Pig, so find parking early in case you have to walk from the garage. I filled out the form, and was then greeted by Aubrey. She is the sweetest! I felt very relaxed and calm for seeing someone who has not been waxing my body for the last 14 months. Aubrey does a great job at informing you about your hair, hair in general, and care tips. The wax itself feels like a warm gel and was painless for me. Of course, there will be discomfort when you rip hair from your body, but I felt like my experience was a walk in the park with Aubrey. We finished our chat at the front and she introduced me to the balm for ingrown hairs! SOLD, because my hair is thick and my legs could benefit from this product as well. Highly recommend! read more

Nia is amazing! She keeps getting better and better with each visit. She takes her time to do a quality job. If she needs to use certain tools to get all the hairs out, she does not hesitate. I would previously go to the European Wax center, but this place is so much better! They emphasize quality of work over speed. You do pay a little extra compared to EWC, but it is well worth it. They also don't try to push promotions or product sales on you, which I really appreciate. I've been coming here during covid with no worries - they do temperature checks, everyone wears masks, limited capacity in the waiting area, and contactless payment! This was my first time going here so that was nice how she knew who I was and acknowledged me. The whole building was vary clean. A vary wonderful,sweet bubbly young lady named Aubrey greeted me. Wonderful experience. This was only the second Brazilian I've had (the first was years ago at a different establishment) and the results were so much better than the first. Aubrey made me feel so comfortable and eased my anxiety. She's very sweet and friendly and talked me through the process. I won't lie, it did hurt at times but I expected much worse. Ashleigh at the front desk was also very sweet and helpful. Although I was there for legs and Brazilian, I had a couple questions about eyebrows. Ashleigh went back and got Ellen who was also very helpful in answering my questions. I'm never going back to shaving my bikini area, never not ever! I've been going to this studio since the beginning of the year. I usually call the day of to see the availability for me to walk in for a wax. Therefore, I've been paired with a few different cerologists, but I've been paired with Ellen three times. I'll probably ask for her going forward. It could be awkward to have someone "all in your business", but Ellen is quick, thorough and professional. Couple of points: 1. Does waxing hurt? Yes, but only for about 5-10 seconds when they pull the strip off 2. Does it hurt less the more you go? Yes. However, I'm giving them 4 stars because it's obvious to me the cerologists are expected to sell you the company's products. It gets awkward saying "no" each time to buying body scrubs and loofahs, especially after spending $50-60 on a wax. However, this has not deterred me from returning and I will consider joining their membership club next year. read more

She was quick, professional and most importantly she left no hair behind which is a major plus in my book. I used to be super fan of the European wax center until I visited this location because I missed my EWC appointment and they couldn't fit me in. I was in desperate need of a wax and called this place, and right there and then she said they could take me in 10 minutes. I went without any expectations other than a last min wax, but I was BLOWN AWAY! I am dead serious! My wax was impeccable, without a doubt one of the best waxes I've ever had, and I've been waxing for close to 8 years. There was not one hair left behind! CRAZY! My wax technician is Aubrey! She is amazing! She is friendly and sweet. She makes the whole process stress free! Getting a wax can of course be painful but I swear she has the hands of an angel! As silly as it sounds. I had an appointment for a brazilian at my usual spot and the lady never showed, so I came to Waxing the City on a whim. The only esthetician available was Demi, who I saw no reviews for so I was a little nervous, but I booked the appointment anyway and let me tell you, I was not disappointed! Demi was very knowledgeable and kind! Just as I had suspected, she's new to this specific salon and that's why no reviews mention her (she told me she's been with the company for a few years). My usual wax at another salon is usually a 6/10 on the pain scale, but this time around I didn't even feel it! No pain whatsoever! They have a charger for any phone during your service. They use both hard and soft wax, both of great quality.
