Our second time visiting this place. The first time was on Halloween a few years ago and we enjoyed it. Fast forward to tonight... we ordered our food and waited for it to be brought out. We waited, and waited, and waited some more... to the tune of 50 minutes for one kids meal, 1 burger, and 1 cheesesteak. When the food arrived, it was mediocre at best... my husband had a build your own burger- that arrived missing the vast majority of the toppings he ordered. Almost an hour for fast food quality. There were 4 other tables who waited just as long as we did. There is NO reason for the food to have taken this long... they are only running a cook top and fryer. The staff even seemed frustrated at the customers questioning when their orders would be ready. One father went up to the counter to ask for his to be made to-go as he was with his small child and was a ticking time bomb (just like our 2 year old we were trying to entertain so I totally understand his furstration!) and the man who I'm guessing was the owner was extremely short and irritated with his request. Stopped in after a long debate on where to go for lunch. Decided on Wayback because we were starving and had heard OK reviews on the place. As we are not food snobs, we decided to form our own opinion. The girl behind the counter was friendly and took good care of us through the ordering process. She entered everything my daughter said she wanted on her burger while my daughter was talking to my wife so once we were done negotiating with the 7 year old, the order was completed. Son, Wife and I all ordered and the total came to about $35.00. Aside from being a little upset over overpriced hamburgers, I decided it might be worth it and went to the table. Once the food arrived we were all very disappointed. My daughters hamburger was ok but she did not want much on it. My sons burger had so much mustard and ketchup on it we had to scrape it off with a napkin and it still had too much on it. His chili cheese fries were not good. All 4 of us tried them and they were thrown away on the plate. My wife's burger had so much mustard on it (more than my son's) she could not taste the meat even after wiping it off. The lettuce was old and wilted. She commented that she would rather have gone to Sonic :-( I ordered the Chipotle Burger and it was OK. Lots of chipotle mayo on the burger. Too much for me but not so much I had to scrape it off. The onion rings were decent but not the best I've had. All in all I feel like we may have gotten a better burger just about anywhere. Slow service.... Very Slow... Not worth the 28 minute wait time. Inexperienced staff and so much more is going wrong. This should be a booming spot considering the lack of options people have in the area. It's just okay. I really dropped the star rating because they need to run it better. Food rating is a 3. But the wait is unbearable. I can fire up a charcoal grill at home and have a burger in 28 minutes and it's not wrapped in such a way the lettuce wilts etc by the time I eat it. I had the bacon burger (double) and it was really good. It's the thinner meat and they have mustard on the hamburger, which is really good, but many times absent. One order of french fries is HUGE and can satisfy 3-4 people. The milkshakes were good...service was fast. The price was a little higher than expected, I got one hamburger kids meal, milkshake with it and a hamburger, fries and soda for $20...3.5 stars would be accurate, but I rounded down because it was good, not great and a bit pricey for what you receive. read more

Parking lot is small and tight then I walked and the restaurant is laid out very poorly it's hard to tell where the line should form and there is no "order here" sign. I've been to Wayback Burger twice now and been disappointed as many times. First time I got takeout and our burgers had nothing on them, not even what comes on them. Maybe a training issue? Our chili cheese fried were also missing the chili. The second time I went in for a takeout order again. The Manager took my order and I sat to wait. 20 mins later I asked one of the girls running food to check on my order. I had watched nearly everyone that came in after me get their food. I waited a few more minutes and then had to ask her again. She was gone about 5 seconds and came back with my bag, dropped it on the table, said "here's your bag" and walked away. I checked the food(based on first experience) and no surprise, it was stone cold. I walked up to the counter and the grill cook turned around and asked, with a little but if attitude, what I wanted. Literally asked "what do you want?". I said I needed to speak with the manager and he pointed to the manager, who was still manning the cash register & taking orders. Didn't walk over to him to let him know or anything. At this point I'm MAD and I head for the door. Needless to say by the time I got home my burger was so cold I didn't even finish it. All of that aggravation cost me $12. Way too much.I can get crappy service, cold food and attitude at any drive-thru window for a heck of a lot less money. I've spoken with the manager(owner) before and he seems like a very nice guy so I hate to bash his restaurant this badly but it really is bad. I got out of my seat while my hero husband knocked it to the floor and stomped it. He called for the girl to let her know she may want to get something to pick this "thing" up and explained "we won't be eating here." Peeling it off his shoe was disgusting but more disgusting then the ginormous ROACH (that needed a name and a saddle) was the fact the person in charge...be it owner/manager, NEVER said a word or apologized for the experience. Very disappointed in the service my husband and I have had here. The burgers are pretty good but they are way overpriced. I understand it's not a fast food restaurant but consistently waiting 30+ minutes for two burgers when the restaurant is practically empty just doesn't do it for me. We really wanted to give this place a fair chance but 5 bad experiences is enough when they keep getting your order wrong and provide terrible service when you bring it up. I also recommend that the owner read Hug Your Haters by Jay Baer to learn how to handle complaints on social media because right now, they aren't handling them in a way to turn a negative experience around. We placed our order and waited 45 MINUTES for two regular burgers and fries. The couple that came in just before us left at the 30 minute mark. We sat near the cash register and heard other people getting thier money back. I can't comment on the food but the manager was respectful and he he regretted having to give my money back. I have been to several wayback burger locations and the food is pretty consistent in all of them. We ordered a single custom burger, a buffalo chicken sandwich, and mac and cheese bites. The food came to our table in 7 minutes. I was impressed with the friendly greeting I received the moment I walked in the store.
